Had a fabulous Sunday lunch with family (and our dog) in a lovely traditional setting. The trio of roasts was excellent with the offer of extra gravy if wanted, and all washed down with some extremely well-kept ales and a good selection of wines. Would whole-heartedly recommend this place. Harry was great and very helpful, as were the rest of the serving team.

Came here with some colleagues after work. Great service and food at a reasonable price. I had the duck Pizza followed by the white chocolate cheesecake trio and both were great.
We will be back in the hopefully not to distant future.

Great place for lunch. Great atmosphere and lovely to sit and spend some time with friends in a lovely setting food was lush! I had a soup and duck salad which was divine. Prices are reasonable and nicely presented

The food at the Fox & Hounds Lower Harlestone was absolutely incredible. I had the privilege of having the Sunday trio of roast and it was possibly one of the best I've ever had. The meat was cooked to perfection and the gravy was out of this world. The Yorkshire puddings were also some of the best I've ever had. Overall, an absolutely fantastic meal that I would highly recommend to anyone.
The service was also top-notch. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure that our every need was met. One of the managers even went above and beyond by getting us a second helping of Yorkshires (which we definitely didn't need but appreciated nonetheless). Overall, a great experience all around. Honestly, you didn't put a foot wrong from start to finish so thank you for making it a memorable fathers day occasion for us!

Came for a meal a week ago, staff were all friendly and happy to help. Especially our servers Emily and Pedro.
Great selection of beers and lagers.
Really good vegan menu with a lot of choice and selection.
Everything we asked for came promptly and presented well.
An all round impressive experience.
The pub has high standards.

We had a wonderful Diamond Wedding celebration at The Fox and Hounds. . Becky and her team could not have been more helpful and the service, quality of food and drink was absolutely superb. We had the fork buffet menu and could not fault any of it, From feedback received from all our guests, they too were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Becky ensured that we all felt safe in view of Covid and was a delight to deal with. The Garden room was a lovely venue for our 23 guests. We shall certainly be back.

The staff was very helpful and flexible. My party booking was complex and needed to be amended several times due to guests arriving from abroad and their flights being cancelled. I really appreciated all the support in organising my event. It was a busy day, fathers day but everything was just on time no-one seemed rushed, yet everything was swift , nothing was too much trouble. The venue is lovely and beautifully decorated, Garden Room in particular. The food was very tasty and nicely presented.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch today, wide choice of food served by very professional and polite staff. Food was excellent and everyone very pleased with chosen dishes. Lovely comfortable dining area to enjoy a very relaxing family lunch. Desserts were delicious, thank you Harry and your team!

My colleagues and I stumbled across the Fox and Hounds whilst working the area and boy was it good. wandering in we were greeted warmly and politely and offered seats in the restaurant immediately despite not having booked. One look at the menu and I was hooked.
I can be a big eater quite often going to excess if the food is good but the portions were just right to save me from myself. The main (maple glazed pork belly) was amazing and filled me quite happily with just enough room for a cheeky sticky toffee pudding.
Emily, our server was lovely and extremely attentive without being overbearing and can't rate her highly enough. She is a definite asset to your business.
We have already decided that we will be back and as we are working on the area for the next few months we will probably be quite a few times as I am intrigued by the Crispy Duck Pizza.
See you soon

Me and my partner went yesterday evening. It was very busy but the staff were polite and apologetic for the wait so I didn't mind at all. Food was super good, really enjoyed it, their roast is definitely worth the money - you get a lot and they packaged my leftovers for me to take home! The only thing that let the experience down for me was the screaming children running about everywhere. I know it's difficult for the staff to do anything but they we just constantly shrieking and getting in the way on the stairs, one waitress was carrying a massive tray of beers and nearly got tripped up by one. It's a massive shame because apart from that everything was perfect.
P. W.
Visited again 2 days ago. Food and environment good as always…
But is it really difficult for staff at the front bar to greet customers and acknowledge presence on arrival? Sometimes the wait is a good 5 minutes or more (which is not a problem in itself), and staff are in close quarters either pouring drinks or walking past, but not one of them bothers to look up, smile or greet. If feels very robotic and cold, which sets the tone for an annoying experience.

I love this pub, great ambience. However the food does not justify the cost. The food is unfortunately hit and miss. I had a vegan burger asked for salad instead of chips. Got chips. Thought I'd go with the flow. The chips were dry and hard not pleasant. The burger was OK but not worth the price. The portion was sparse and overpriced. Starters tasty but stingy. So nearly £60 for a burger and chips. Fish main and 2 tiny starters and 1 drink each. If it was delicious I have no gripes but it wasn't. Has no sparkle the food.
E. P.
Service was great and food was amazing. We had the cod and mussels + lamb shank both was beautifully presented and was just as enjoyable to eat. We were greeted by a happy and friendly hostess and was promptly shown to our table. Thankyou for a great evening
C. T.
Great place to eat. Food always good, a great selection for all dietary requirements and the staff are always very helpful and friendly and lovely relaxing surroundings. Good value.

A spontaneous visit for Sunday Lunch whilst passing through and must say was very impressed. The trio roast was excellent and the cocktail of the day a must!! Will be sure to return in the near future.
L. W.
Perfect experience, waiting staff a pleasure and the food lovingly prepared. A little expensive but the surroundings, food was worth it. My only complaint is that I never found the ladies' loo. I was directed out to the bar and found the disabled (with no lock). I went upstairs but only could see the gents' loo, so I gave up and re-joined my party. Luckily, I wasn't far from home and could wait. Overall, I'd certainly come back.
R. M.
We had a meal here a few nights ago and the food was excellent. The food and whole experience was great and just as good the service. Served by a lovely young lady (Cara) we enjoyed our evening, look forward to coming back soon 👍
E. Y. P.
A gorgeous restaurant with fantastic service and an extensive menu. Thanks to Emily who looked after us.
F. F.
Jess was outstanding. Polite & attentive.
food was incredible.
The only disappointment was the Biscoff chocolate bomb, far far too rich and the tiniest brownie ever.
R. s.
Nice pub. Nice meal. We sat in the garden. Only gave a four as I had the fish finger sandwich, which I expected to be a bit special at £11 but it was a bit bland
L. H.
Food excellent but had to wait 15minutes after we booked due to both staff making coffees for people in the lounge area we booked for 12pm due to time constraints it was 12.15 when someone eventually came to me for my party got seated. Most disappointing considering I had traveled from Birmingham.
S. S.
Great food. Great service. A hidden gem in Princess Diana’s home town. Althorp! No need to say anymore. It’s 100% worth a visit
C. J.
The food was great lots of flavours. Staff friendly. The ceiling lights need a good clean. Loads of cobwebs!

Date Night ♥
Sat outside lovely garden and fantastic service.
We both had the belly pork and scallops wow.
We will be back for the Sunday Roast sometime soon.
E. B.
Interesting decor, was hoping for a bit more of the history of the place either on the menu or on the building, could use a few more fun and unique cocktails, also lacking in vegan options
C. M.
The food was superb, staff were brilliant. Generally all round a lovely evening.
K. A.
This place is great, good food, friendly staff and a really good selection of beers on draught
M. L.
Staff and venue very nice but not brilliant food I'm afraid. The raw veggies on the vegan option were not very fresh and limp. Rotisserie chicken was dry and didn't come with any salad or garnish. Shame.
M. K.
We had a meal here on Saturday night and the food was excellent. They really do everything they can to make the food and whole experience as good as it can be - and herein lies the only problem - on Saturday night they did not have enough staff on so the poor chap (Manager) was literally running around trying to clear tables, seat everyone, and that made for a bit of a hectic atmosphere - and the waitress every-time she came to our table - who was lovely - started by saying sorry, knowing that service was suffering. A really nice pub with great food, but I'm not sure we would go back on a busy Saturday night.
J. G.
We had a very nice roast after an awful experience at navigation today. The staff were all really lovely was overall a lovely place and people. The restaurant was beautifully set up and the whole place is decorated and set up lovely. Would definitely recommend. It's not for people who want a cheap green king meals it's quality food.
N. M.
Lovely pub, tasty food, polite friendly service, and nice atmosphere definitely go again
D. W.
Went there for first time this evening.. was greeted by Hannah a lovely friendly lady. The meal was exceptional will definately return.
H. D.
Lovely pub with a lovely atmosphere - food was stunning and service impeccable! Couldn’t fault it. Looking forward to returning again soon.
K. R.
I had a lovely meal, the food was very nice however I do feel it's a bit over priced. My fella had the rib eye steak for £21 sadly it was a bit tough and he left alot of it. I had the chocolate bomb at £7:95, it was nice but a very small portion for the price, the hot Belgian chocolate was poured on for me by staff and in all honesty it was way too much chocolate for me, best leave that to customers as I would of only had a small amount and I never got to take a picture of it in all it's glory either!! Very nice atmosphere and good friendly service. Just a bit pricey for me.
V. P.
Lovely food . attentive staff .the birthday girl enjoyed it very much .thank you for an excellent evening x
T. B.
It's the second time I've visited here it's a really great pub, pretty busy on New Year's Day but the atmosphere was great. The only reason I've put a four is the New Year's Menu wasn't visible when booking a table online so that was a bit of a surprise when we got there and or table wasn't ready. Service was FANTASTIC and the food, just as good!
M. T.
Really enjoyed the food as always, the group member who has a princess tummy was very grateful to have access to his own IPAD.
L. G.
Team very welcoming. Nice interior. Had high hopes but the food at best was average. Ordered the fish cake, which arrived with floppy grey-green over cooked asparagus. Looked awful and not sure why any kitchen would send it out like that . Crab cake was tasteless and swimming in green glup. Edible but I expected better.
P. S.
Great meal. Lovely front of house team. Great management from girl in spotty shirt. Will return
J. H.
Lovely food. Great service. The beef broth with the burger is divine
Z. M.
Food absolutely delicious! Service great, lovely decor and surroundings
Y. S.
Valentines at the fox and hounds was simply the best food experience ever - just complete perfection ❤️ Every dish had clearly had so much thought out into it and was a taste sensation - just can’t recommend enough!
F. L.
Went on a recommendation by a friend, it was excellent we were looked after by Cara who was excellent. Employee of the Month vote from my wife.
T. &. A. K.
Great place to eat, fantastic staff especially Cara, so proffesional and helpful
C. A.
The food was fantastic and the waitress elodie was very friendly and helpful.
A. R.
Wasn't impressed that our mains came literally as we were eating our last mouthful of our starters. Therefore, no plates were cleaned away before the mains were then put in front of us. When eating out, I like to have a breather in-between courses to be able to enjoy the food. Because of this, I had to leave my main meal halfway to use the toilet. However, the food and staff were nice as always.
M. P.
Good food but not as good as it used to be. Service could be quicker. The menu seems to be more standard pub than gastro. Steak and tart is very good, not £27 good though.
J. S.
Me and my husband popped in for a meal and some drinks and had an amazing evening here!
The linguine main and the melting bomb for desert was perfect, and We loved the decor it’s very intriguing! Our waiter, Nathan was helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back for more soon! ✅
S. O.
Me and my husband have come here quite a few times before covid and everything was 10/10.. and we decided to make our first visit back with friends on sunday!
Everything was yet again 10/10! The staff welcomed us in, and we were seated and had drinks within minutes. The Sunday roasts was absolutely amazing 🤩 me and my husband both had the trio of roasts with the 4 choices of sides and it did not disappoint at all!
We were looked after by Nathan, and my friend has an allergy and he gave her a tablet and explained everything very clearly on the choices and she was very pleased with the food she had chosen - it was very busy and we was a bit surprised but nathan and everyone at the fox and hounds was providing an excellent service and we will definitely be popping in more often😊
Thank you for your excellent service! - Sunita
A. A.
Great place for a decent dinner date . Fantastic food ...amazing staff. Value for money..
P. C.
Food nice but I had a piece of bacon tucked under my fish and chips. When I told the waiter he said the chef said it was pancetta. Thankfully I'm not a pescatarian.
A. C.
The automatic telephone reservation system is excruciating to use. During normal opening hours please have someone answer the phone to take reservations.
With the exception of the stale "Rustic bread" appetizer, the food was good when it arrived but the wait was prolonged. You need additional serving staff.
The drink menu prices for wine were absurdly expensive.
P. H.
First ever visit. Very cosy seating, attentive service and excellent food. Very impressed. It will not be my last visit. Well done to all concerned.
S. W.
Went for a meal on a Wednesday as group of 6. It was busy for a mid-week which is always a good sign! We all had 3 courses and the food was amazing! Highly recommend the Pork Belly dish as well as the Sticky Toffee pudding! We will be returning!
G. W.
Excellent atmosphere at The Fox & Hounds and a great menu to choose from. We (me and Mike) both opted for fillet steaks, peppercorn sauce, chunky chips and steamed vegetables. 10/10 for food and service. We will visit again soon!
M. S.
went for dinner lured by discount voucher. Very slow service and average to good food. don't bother with the pie (thick pastry) or the crunchy brie. took twenty minutes to pay the bill and longer to be served. Not at its best.
D.
Food was good, However took ages to come! Was out with the work colleagues for lunch and we were there for 2hours! Maybe should be considerate when there is large work lunches. But apart from that great food :)
H. S.
Visited for the first time Bank Holiday Sunday. Staff very helpful and friendly even tho they were rather busy.
Really great menu food was amazing.
Beautiful pub with lots of character will definitely return when we go to visit our daughter again. Thankyou for a lovely experience.
D. F.
The place and the staff are lovely. The food has let me down at least in my 2 last visits. Not coming back soon.
M. J.
Lovely food & great setting with friendly staff.
A. C.
Amazing food and lovely place.
L. C.
Its was lunch with friends we wanted to catch up with, and a celebration of our 1st wedding anniversary.
C. C.
Lunch to celebrate my Mum's 90th birthday today! Staff were really attentive when it came to disabled access, candles for the cake and the family photo. Food and service was great which made it very special and my Mum just loved it! Thank you - we will be back.
P. R.
Popped in for a drink plenty of choice sat outside very pleasant.
S. B.
Nice cosy pub with great food and service
C. C.
Fantastic food..our waitress was lovely..defo be back
M. C.
Very dog friendly pub in bar snug area. Food was very good, no salt on chips, which were excellent. Maybe people could be correct about it being maybe a few quid per head pricey but it probably allows the management or couple who own it to pay reasonable wages. We found the waiting on staff polite and attentive if a bit busy. The credit card machine process slipped up a bit because there didn't seem the opportunity to leave a tip. Visitors to area. Would recommend. Read some of the other comments about limited menu options, we thought it was excellent. That were they expecting, the hanging baskets of Babylon?... No pleasing some people.
C. R.
Good place for lunch. Not cheap but good quality.
S. D.
Lovely surroundings in and out. Sad we only had time for a snack and not a main meal.
Made to feel wanted by staff we saw.
Very tasty food and at a recent price.
Prompt smiley service all round.
Just the ticket.
Thanks.
H. G.
Great selection of drinks, not too commercial, nice surroundings, indoor and outdoor seating, good food and great service. We weren't quite sure what we wanted today and Harry advised us on some delicious drinks that will be our new favourites. Thank you!
D. J.
One of the nicest country pubs we've been to in a long time. Lovely food, reasonable prices and friendly, efficient service. Can't ask for more!
A. B.
Nice village pub, higher price then standard pub but you are paying for the ambience as well
i. h.
The food was quite good but if you want added vegetables you have to pay more we thought was a bit of a cheek considering the Food is £15 and over for some dishes
C. R.
Food fantastic and Willow our waitress was welcoming and helpful
D. H.
A very pleasant restaurant/pub, very friendly and helpful staff. Good menu and beer and dog friendly too 😊
Thoroughly recommended
S. O.
First couple of visits were great here but standards seem to have dropped more recently. One drink arrived with a fly in it, one main arrived with someone else's chip included which doesn't give the best impression of quality or attention to detail. The food tasted good hence the 3 stars but we wouldn't rush back. A shame really because the interior and setting are excellent. we have visited 4 times, first 2 times were great, most recent two not so much.
L. T.
I booked a table for 10 people for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. We received an outstanding service from Cavan, he was attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food was perfect ( Particularly the Dirty burger and Pork belly). Thank you so much to Cavan for making our night a special one!
S. B.
Just a great village pub..warm welcome from wonderful staff and fine meal to boot..
J. M.
Good food a little on the expensive side but I think worth the money
N. W.
Went here for the first time today. A proper gastro pub! The outside suggests a warm spacious interior, and it delivers.
The inside is well looked after and has a variety of different luxurious chairs,
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
They had alcohol gels and track n trace.
The food was delicious! Well thought out, good flavours, excellent quality - what you would expect from a gastro-pub. Real roast potatoes, not the usual half roasted ones. The pork belly was well cooked and melt in the mouth.
We had the sticky toffee pudding and mixed berry crumble - both were excellent.
I can easily recommend this place for a date or family meal!
I. G.
Great place to meet and chat. You will be suprised
T. W.
We have been three times over the last couple of months. Each time they were fantastic, really good food and friendly service. The Sunday roast is especially good!
R. M.
Fab service, amazing food and very pleasant atmosphere
K. M.
Excellent food, service not rushed but not too slow either. Lovely atmosphere.
S. E.
Lovely staff and great desserts xxx
L. J.
Excellent food, fantastic service. Clean, friendly and comfortable. You want something a little more special....Dusty Fox(loved the old name) is a great choice. You won't be disappointed
I. L.
An exceptional pub in Lower Harlestone. Great menu, delicious food. Friendly staff. Will return with family in the New Year.
D. W.
A lovely couple of pints with friends, this place is busy, happy to accept dogs and classy - well done!
S. J.
Family favourite good food, must book
J. H.
Really quirky pub with a nice atmosphere. Ate in the garden which was lovely . Food was really delicious too. Cod and chips was yummy and the batter tasty and light. Service really good.
J. V.
Food was really good and friendly atmosphere
Y.
A lovely Roast Beef! Wonderful dessert and starter! Wonderful Service in a beautiful fine country pub!
L. S.
An absolutely stunning country pub! Absolutely love it here! Staff are super friendly and attentive; and the food is amazing! Tables were well spaced, staff social distancing and sanitiser points all over, making us feel so all the more comfortable!
Already looking forward to our next visit!
A. H.
Lovely building, easy to find, large car park. Spacious inside and quirky decoration, nice garden. Well equipped for covid with spaced tables and hand sanitizer to use. Sunday lunch was lovely, the pork belly very tender, only lost out on 5 stars due to green veg
J. A.
Got together for a birthday gathering here, loved the pub. Friendly atmosphere, great food we didn't want to leave!
c. G.
The steak cooked to perfection so the £25 was worth it. It was delicious.
Although I had a reservation I was sat 25 minutes after I arrived. This was irritating and primed me to think that service was not great.
The scallops as the starter were delicious but there were 3 scallops, not sure they were worth the £11. I could have eaten 20.
I said it was my wife's 40th on the reservation but no comment was made about it, the service was average. Not poor but not special.
My wife said her fish and chips was no better than the chippie in the corner (which is great) but she is demanding.
This is my second visit post refurbishment and the first one was much better when I just had a burger with my friends (was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive). I think they struggle a bit when busy and lose their touch. I'll come again though.
A. B.
1st time since the recent renovation. Looks great inside and lovely food and drink. A bit expensive but worth it.
D. B.
Arrived for a late lunch when restaurant was busy. Quickly shown to table and got bottle of wine. Slow food but we enjoyed atmosphere with friends. So good we had second bottle. Thoroughly enjoyable and tasty. Check out toilet decorations.
M. R.
Stopped here for a pint on a sunday afternoon. Garden is lovely and beer was perfect. Table service only, which was slow considering we only wanted two pints and a packet of crisps !
But in the end it didn't matter the staff were excellent and very polite. Can't comment on the food but lovely location for alfresco drinks
J. B.
Always great food, drink and service here. Friendly staff make you feel very welcome. Thanks in particular to Izzy and Epiphany, see you again soon
B. H.
Great little pub with great food and friendly staff.
K.
On driving up it looks lovely on entering its beautiful, we had booked a table for 2 for a romantic meal we was seated on table that was wonky and dark so we asked to move so we was seated by patio doors which were wide open so was cold. Starters were nice we ordered the steak meal for 2 defiantly not worth 54 quid it was served on 2 pizza sauce tins??? nice friendly staff but 120 quid later we wanted to be blown away we are debating if we want to make it our weekly eating place beautiful pub tho
C. B.
I have just had one of the nicest meals in my life. It was the sticky pork belly which simply melted in my mouth. The crackling was crisp and crunchy without breaking your teeth, and the mashed potato and mashed squash were a delight. The sauces brought everything together perfectly. Every mouthful felt different from the first through tastes, textures etc. Wonderful stuff. Definitely recommend this place
J. E.
It is the worst restaurant I've had the misfortune to go to!
M. W.
We went to this restaurant with friends for a Friday night out. Very pleasant evening. The pub/restaurant has a good atmosphere and the food was good. Fair choice of main courses at a variety of prices. I had the belly pork which was good but at the top end of the price range. Good selection of starters and sweets, but a little on the pricey side.
A. R.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. Highly recommended.
J. O.
Had Sunday Lunch for a group of six. Menu and choice of Specials was excellent. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. The whole place has a warm quality non pretentious feel. I understand the interior us about to undergo wholesale transformation and design, hopefully they won't discard the character feel.
C. R.
It was nice to be sat in here, we went just for drinks but ended up eating, the food was lovely, really good. Comfortable space, nice atmosphere it just loses a star as it is expensive.
D. E. S. A.
Excelent food, nice place to be and Nice atmosphère, thank you for this good moment.
C. S.
Nice settings food fresh and tasty fair selection of drinks.really nicely laid out overall a nice place only disappointment was not all staff as attentive as others
l. s.
Haven't been in this pub for many years ,Went there with family for a birthday .Seems to be a well run pub , staff friendly and the meal excellent. Nothing to complain about this place.
M. H.
Very nice, have been many times
J. T.
This pub really stands out for it's Sunday lunch and lovely decor. We celebrated both our Sons' 18th and 21st birthday here. The staff were attentive and couldn't do enough to help.
The meals are always lovely, with a great range of drinks.
B. P.
Fantastic vegan options, and dog friendly too!
S. G.
Great food and atmosphere.
Nice menu selection.
A. S.
Nice atmosphere, food was good
M. W.
Had the pork with scallops. It was amazing.
A. l.
Slow service at the bar. Maybe due to some electrical issues in the building.
E. S.
We visited the Fox and Hounds last night for a meal looking forward to a lovely evening. My revue would have to say.Fabulous looking place. Ambitious menu, but ..oh dear the food certainly did not deliver ... Belly pork with thick white greasy fat with meat you could not separate from the fat . Over cooked brownish scallops that were rubbery, thick dark brown chips that should have been crispy but were soggy ..We asked for some water to go with our meal and the waitress bought us a bottle which was £3.50 ! The food here is not cheap over £60 for 2 pints of cider, one steak and one belly pork. The standard should have been much better than we got . We declined the puddings we had seen enough, paid the bill and left , we wont be returning.Very disappointing ......
K. M.
First outing after Covid restriction being eased in April.Great outdoor garden area (thankfully a sunny, warmish day).Covid rules adhered to.Friendly, attentive staff, good service.Food albeit from a reduced menu was absolutely delicious, especially the crispy duck Asian salad.Would definitely recommend a visit.
D. B. B. A.
Had a weekday lunch here with family. Food was gorgeous, presented really well and a very good price. Varied choices on the menu and decent portions. Refreshing to have nice and polite service. Very quaint setting and tranquill outside space for drinks too. I would definitely recommend and will be returning
S. B.
Fabulous food and service, recommend you try the gin with blood orange and tonic, delicious 👍
A. R.
We visited at lunchtime whilst out on a walk in the snow. We were immediately welcomed by a beautiful roaring open fire. Just what we needed. Service was first class, nothing was too much trouble. A good choice of wines by the glass. We had two different sharing platters between three if us. Highly recommended. We ended up with a really good mix of delicious bites, dips and flatbreads. We will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu. Pub was nicely decorated and had a great 'feel'.
K. M.
Great olde world pub. Lovely attentive and efficient staff. Really good food. Had a fabulous time there!
S. M.
Lovely food and great service
C. S.
Lovely lunch thanks to Harry! Will be returning!
G. H.
Lovely place Food was very good. Service was slightly lax. Waited nearly 20 minutes for a pint and coffee. Not a problem as we weren't in any hurry. Overall good.
C. F.
Food is great, getting us seated and bar service were a little slow which appeared to be down to over-booking, but once at our table it was fantastic. Might change the rating to a 5 if next time I visit those small niggles have been ironed out.
J.
The pub looks lovely and lots of parking, but we had the Sunday lunch and it was a bit disappointing if I'm honest. The beef was nice and the vegetables were good but the Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and the cauliflower was fridge cold so we had to send them back. Desserts were lovely though and good choice of beers.
M. F.
Fantastic venue, Steak was cooked to perfection. Highly reccomended.
P. B.
Excellent, staff very attentive & helpful & polite.
Food was amazing.
Thank you so much.
D. P.
Good food, nice decor, good service. They have a nice outdoor area for the warmer months. Dog friendly (even provide a bowl of biscuits). I have eaten here on several occasions and always very tasty. More expensive than some pubs in the area but worth the extra few quid.
T. A.
Lovely pub with well cooked and tasty food. Only a minor detail wasn't achieved and after a comment to the waitress she was apologetic and waived some money of the total bill. Absolutely recommend if they keep going this way.
H.
Venue has a very warm atmosphere.
The patterns, colours and theme is consistent throughout the venue.
They have a host of different alcohol beverages that I have not seen. Only down side is the glasses was a bit dirty and tables could have beened tended to more quicker, as there was a adequate amount of staff.
C. C.
Went for a birthday bash. Didn't know what to expect as from the outside looks like a quaint country pub. Nicely done inside, bar area very in keeping with rustic style, to the restaurant which is quite large at the back. Food is pub grub to fine dining. Well worth the visit, definitely going back soon.
C. P.
A lovely pub that serves delicious food. The staff are professional and courteous.
The day I visited was generally quiet and I was looking forward to a leisurely lunch having driven all morning. Unfortunately, 2 women came in and sat at the next table. They had a very small yappy dog with them and they simpered over the animal but were unwilling to do anything about the noise it made.
So, nothing against the pub as such, but their customers could do with having some consideration for their fellow diners.
F. R.
Lovely place to visit whether for meal or a drink. The seats welcome you and the warmth of staff and style keep you there. Service is always great and for animal lovers there's the bonus of pets allowed in the bar bar area. Very friendly!
D. J.
I went twice to this place, to be pleased twice. I recommend.
R. A.
Great meal and staff where lovely and polite. Great atmosphere

Lovely pub, has a great outside area for at the moment with only being able to eat and drink outside! Great menu, lovely cocktails and attentive staff.
L. H.
Bones in my fish but overall good
L. M.
Food was amazing and so was the service. Would have liked more choice of beers, they advertise Thornbridge on their website but they didn't stock any.
J.
Fantastic place to eat or drink! Great selection of ciders and beers, and the food is nothing short of fabulous. Inside is clean, airy and modern, and the beer garden is spacious and well kept. There’s plenty of car parking also, which can’t be said for many places in the area... Overall, highly recommended.
T. M.
Great variety on the menu, excellent tasty food, excellent thoughtful service.
M. H.
We had a lovely lunch today without a booking staff were amazing so friendly happy and accomodating we had such a nice lunch we will back . In fact we are considering chtistmas lunch . Great Pub so lovely decorated and super happy staff .
B. P.
Two of us had dinner on a Sunday evening.
The food is quite pricey but not OTT and was very tasty so I felt it was fair. The building/setting is very nice and the staff were very polite and friendly.
Only thing stopping 5 stars was that it was quiet when we were there yet service was slow.
That said we both enjoyed our experience and would be happy to visit again
J. K.
Really lovely place with delicious food!
J. S.
Excellent food as always and a really pleasant afternoon with friends visiting from Oxford. Highly recommended
J. N.
Fantastic food and fantastic service, especially during these trying times. Definitely worth anither visit as so much on the menu I want to try. Thank you all, it was fab.
M. d. c.
Lovely old pub, just had a revamp & looks good but the loos let them down. No loo roll in 2 of the 4 ladies loos, I can't speak for the mens. Food was good, wine was excellent but for facilities must try harder. Fish & chips very good.
t. y.
Excellent service. Spent the afternoon in the very peaceful garden before enjoying a fantastic "Dirty Burger" ... thoroughly recommended.
M. S.
Amazing Sunday Roast
Attentive staff
Highly recommend
A. M.
Went in with friends on Friday night to check out the new refurb and the place looks fantastic! Menu was brilliant too, lots of choice. Also the service was fast and friendly, great experience all round!
V. G.
Great service, very well looked after and the food was superb
D. I.
Very friendly service and excellent quality food. Essential to pre-book to be sure of a table
V. W.
Four of us went for a meal following return. Pleasantly surprised by changes. Food was great but our part of dining area a little on dark side. Music too loud. Staff friendly.
D. M.
Really good service today (boxing day). Highlights for us were the roasted tomato soup and the seabass. The fox and hounds definitely scores very highly amongst pub food options locally.
H. K.
Food was great, beautiful building, friendly staff, only disappointment was that the bill was wrong twice, once we were bring charged for the prosecco that was part of our set menu, then the 2nd time service charge was added on but wasn't on the first two, meaning I was a further £30 out of pocket because all the rest of my table had already gone home. Watch out for service charge if there's a large group of you and ask them if it should show on the bill! I did however, pay it because the food was great and the kitchen staff did earn it. I would go again I will just check my bill thoroughly!
D. C.
Just had a drink and bite to eat in the lovely peaceful garden. Our waitress Epiphany was so helpful and pleasant .Thank you
S. V.
Just had a lovely meal in the newly refurbished Fox & Hounds. The new menu and food were top drawer (as usual) and the staff were extremely friendly, and you could tell they were proud of their new workplace. 5/5 as per usual.
M. H.
Food very enjoyable and service was excellent. Priced a little too high but a pleasant treat.
D. B.
Great meals, French level dishes with variety and nice presentation. Friendly staff and reasonable price (not cheap but inline with the quality). High recommend the chocolate orange bomb imploding in front of you under a burning hot shower of liquid chocolate.
C. H.
Very friendly and generous staff, lovely atmosphere, felt very welcomed and had a beautiful meal, all my previous visits with my dog have always been great too and they have a wonderful vegan menu!
B. T. (.
Great quality food in lovely area been to many country pubs but this one is up there. Nice to see a nice all round menu and drinks
J. B.
Really nicely styled pub, warm welcome, great staff and excellent food, thoroughly recommended
S. S.
Amazing roast dinner, great. Service from the waitress Millie! Cant wait to go back 😊
R. S. B.
A quintessential, quality, country pub/restaurant with a nice menu and quality food. A little overpriced and some menu items not available which was disappointing. But the service was attentive, even on Xmas Eve and the beer good too.
G. F.
We booked a table for 3 on Sun evening 5th May for my wifes Birthday, on being seated we were told that there was no Chicken or Pork left on the Sun roast menu.my wife ordered the Beef and I ordered as a second choice the Lamb ( I wanted the Pork) the other order was for a Dirty Burger and fries. The meals arrived the Beef meal was only just warm and soon became cold, The Lamb was ok. as was the Dirty Burger. On telling the waiter he apologised and bought a pot of hot peas, there was also no pot of gravy as advertised. I was disappointed with the Lamb being very fatty and rather tough. The excellent meal was the dirty burger. When we paid the waitress did apologise when asking if we enjoyed the meal. So disappointed as we have been many times before and always found the food excellent.
C.
Very nice food and good service. If you need the toilet, make sure you've got your hiking boots on as it's a bit of a trek! If you order the breads for a starter, just watch out for the pot of stuff that looks like cheese, it is not cheese, it is butter ha ha! Not a criticism though, more a reflection of my food ignorance.
L. M.
Lovely evening. The restaurant is very well organised. We pre ordered our food and none of us were disappointed with what we recirved. Friendly service staff and cosy setting. Perfect winter treat.
E. E.
The atmosphere is very nice and the service was good. The best part is that they also have a vegan menu and also few options of vegan desserts. My food was very good and filling and the dessert was tasty and the food was presented very well for the whole table.
J. B.
Great place to go for a meal or just to pop into for a drink, always well looked after every time I visit.
F. S.
Simply stunning venue, fantastic staff and the best ambience I’ve felt inside the UK. Generous portions and delightfully presented. The best wine list I’ve seen in a pub ever. I will be back.
P. M.
A nice place for a drink and a chat in the bar area, good beer and a good selection of wine, only stopped for a snack so had the breads with olives which was nice, would have liked a little more olive oil and balsamic dip for the amount of bread we had, only had a few dunks and it was gone but would definitely return again. After the owner's response I've added a star!! wish i'd asked now lol :-)
M. M.
First time after return, much dark decor, increased prices but not amazing, run out of steak sauce at 7pm, and a wine choice, forgot a few things for the dinner, like steak knife, pleasant enough but more effort needed. Wanted to be blown away but sadly wasn't
H. N.
Very over priced for the quality of food. No liqueur coffee as the coffee machine wasn't working. No fish special as we were told something had fallen on someone's head!! Very disappointing as had been recommended and it was our wedding anniversary
M. W.
Dog friendly, what a lovely lunch time meal. Great high end food served not the cheep stuff. Place and staff very welcoming. Will be returning with my doggie as this is one of the places that don't frown on people who have man's best friend in tow.
M. H.
Very well presented pub, lots of space and a good drinks selection. I am not sure about the title 'gastropub', they just sell standard pub food but use this title to be a little overpriced. On my visit the portion control was all over the place, I had fishcakes and both of my fishcakes combined were smaller than one of the guys next to me, which isn't a problem if the fish content is high but it was 90% potato
M. M.
Just had coffee but the menu looked really nice. Food smelt lovely but had not long eaten unfortunately. We'll worth a visit.
R. E.
All the staff were friendly and very helpful they took our order promptly got some drinks in really easily it was my brother-in-law's 50th birthday they took care of all the arrangements we had a great meal go to see many friends and family definitely would visit this restaurant again many thanks to everyone
E. T.
Absolutely love the food here. So cosy and all the staff are super friendly and keen to help.
O. S.
Great local pub! Excellent food and service as always.
S. H.
Food was lovely, staff friendly and helpful well worth a visit if your in the area
A. E.
Me and my partner came here for our 9 year anniversary and it was absolutely fantastic. The food and staff were amazing. We will definitely be coming back again.
S. M.
Had a vegan burger and both my wife and daughter were sick the next day
Complained to the manager the next dad, he didn’t seem interested
Ordered a pint of pale ale which I didn’t like and did not drink items order an alternative. Still charged me for the undrunk pints.
J. S.
Normally I haven't a bad word to say about the food here, but tonight,we were disappointed.
The starters were fine, but three of the main courses were below par.
We paid an additional £10pp for a chateaubriand for 2, which would have been good value if we'd each had more than half a miniscule tomato, one tiny overcooked mushroom and too many chips to accompany it.
The meats on the two roast dinners(one lamb, one pork)...were dry, the vegetables were undercooked and very basic, and no accompanying sauces offered.ie mint/apple.
The deserts were lovely, and overall we enjoyed the evening, just a shame about the mains.
C. F.
I love the food at this place but it's always so hard to get a seat for dinner if you turn up without reservation. I wish there was space to be more spontaneous rather than have to plan it all in advance.
l. s.
Very nice food
Friendly staff
Great atmosphere
G. R.
Awesome food and ambience. Lovely country side pub to chill.
B. B.
Visited today with friends from the US - We were all delighted with reception and very attentive and pleasant waitress - Alex. Ambience is very pleasant and the food first class - we would highly recommend the Fox & Hounds at Lower Harlestone. My daughter and I will be visiting again. Thank you very much.
R. J.
We really liked this place. Lovely décor, friendly staff and great food at decent prices. We will def be back next time we're in Northampton!
G. L.
Good food, excellent service. Enjoyed many a meal in the garden.
M. C.
Not been here for 20 years but had a fantastic meal with wonderful staff, if you like the Cromwell in Kislingbury then you will also like it here.
A. S.
Time after time we've had great meals here and it's always our 'goto' for special occasions. The staff are well informed and the food has been beatifully cooked each time. Sign up to their newsletter and you'll often recieve great midweek offers. A massive plus is their online reservation service, which allows you to instantly see their availablility.
C. S.
Fabulous place, great food and great atmosphere.
J. P.
Lovely meal great service staff pleasant, recommend!
J. B.
Fragrant and nicely decorated in sort of tasteful Kanye West mode. Decent gastropubby fare. Can be crowded though so maybe book a table first. Espresso a bit weak.
C. E.
Great food quirky pub great service
C. B.
A great selection of food to cater for all tastes. Though the salad with the main courses could be greatly improved. One dry and brown the other was mostly red onion.
n. p.
Great food friendly staff amazing cheesecake
T. O.
A gammon steak with a fried egg hardly requires the expertise of a Roux or a Blanc, so when a chef cracks an egg into a pan and the yolk breaks one wonders as to the mentality that puts it on the plate anyway and sends it out to a paying customer. Apart from this stupidity, a satisfactory meal with the usual friendly and professional service.
R. S.
Dined at the Fox & Hounds today, 5* Food & Service !
P. A.
Nicely laid out restaurant. Good service. Dealt well with a problem with my meal our starters and my wife's meal were excellent. Will certainly go back.

Been a couple of times now. Offering a consistently excellent service. Great staff, atmosphere and food. Highly recommended.
A. B.
Lovely country pub to follow a country walk! This has been refurbished since our last visit and its lovely. We only had drinks and the beer selection is fantastic.
R. B.
Lovely pub with good beers and food, with helpful staff but very pricey hence 4 stars
J. E.
Excellent food, lovely venue. Food a little overpriced and on my visit, quite slow. Worth a treat but perhaps avoid weekends. Open fires, comfortable seating, superb staff.
L. B.
Always pleased to have a food or drink here. Lovely and friendly staff. Nice venue inside and out
D. s.
The food in this place is just beautiful, the staff are lovely too. The only downside is the toilets are a million miles away (well that's what it felt like)
J. B.
Great place to eat, the menu is good and is updated seasonally. I love the decor and general feel of the place. Service is good and staff are polite and accommodating.
P. C.
Great food overall but the Rum Baba had no rum and was exceedingly disappointing.

This is a fine, easily accessible gastro pub that consistently serves up great food and drink. Service is frequently very good, and in the Summer and warmer evenings, the expansive outside seating area is delightful.

Good service, lovely decor. Food was a bit too well cooked for me but still palatable. Friendly staff.

Excellent food, nice ambience, good service. The 5th star would be supplied if the loudness of the music fits to a dinner atmosphere.
J. B.

Everywhere clean and tidy
N. S.
Yummy food, cool drinks and awesome staff
J. D.
The only reason I didn't give five stars was the lack of ppe by staff, but that is now mandatory so that that problem is solved
R. T.
Lovely place to sit, very cozy with a lovely atmosphere, just shame it took them nearly an hour to clear the numerous previous customers empty drinks glasses and crisp packets even after asking a number of times.
J. C.
Popped in just for a drink on this occasion. The fire was on as it was a cold night, and just added to the ambiance.
Friendly staff and a good range of beers.
