Stars given for 1 the staff - great service. 2 a garden with ample tables on the grass and some playgound equiptment for the staff. 3. A good deal, something on offer for each day of the week. If you want good food then thats the deal and you pay more. This is a budget food pub and it is what it is. 4. The staff here deal with your complaints well, as i think if your here for food and do eat at other establishments then its not up to scratch. However i got served as soon as i got in the door just for a drink (its a grab a table number you want and then goto the bar/i went bar first) tables were busy but service was handling demand well. 5. Well the the food doesnt get five stars its way lower. Nevertheless if you want pub/garden/good staff its a good place. If you want good food go to nn14 3ed. I went to the fox a fourtnight ago and was blown away. This isnt the fox, just outside thrapston. If you have read this far then at some point soon 2022 check it out. Great quality food here. Come to the Spinney... for the Staff, service & deals. If you have children come for the garden... its not a full scale park but then what pub does... plenty of space for kids & someone likes growing flowers here.

We held our AGM in a side area Saturday night Staff are great food very good what we did not know there was a live band playing by nine o'clock could not hear a word from my fellow anglers that did cause a problem. The pub was very busy which after the last 24 months was good to see.

Shocking service....seated at the table 15 minutes before having to ask to get served, my poor Dad had to wait 25 minutes for a pint of John Smiths...then half the menu was not available...45 minutes later my Dad's meal still hadn't arrived. Would not mind if it was busy but it wasn't. Group of men walked through the pub without wearing masks or badges and nobody took any notice. Seated a family directly behind me so the lady's wheelchair was touching the back of my chair. Social distancing not observed ..and the lady is vulnerable and so is my Dad Clearly not being managed very well at all

It was okay a bit disappointed with the dessert at Nearly six pounds and you get a kids bowl and a table spoon to eat it service was a little slow but it looked like she was on her own so she was doing her best

We went on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend when it was relatively busy, but the service was still pretty quick and the food was excellent. Good selection of dishes and a nice kids menu too, plus promotions on various drinks (gin at the moment!) and some of the food as well. They seem to have lots of events planned over the next couple of months alongside the usual sports on TV, including a music festival, and they just had a family fun day on the Saturday too. The only minor thing I would put them down on was the state of the highchairs - they had a lot, which was great, but they all needed maintenance as the clips were broken and some had loose screws which might be dangerous. We went through several before choosing the least damaged for our child. Otherwise they are a fantastic establishment and we haven't been disappointed at all over the last few visits. Thanks Spinney Hill!

Table booked for 6.30 meal ordered immediately. Was warned of an hour wait. Bit disappointing but went with it as it did seem busy. Staff charming and covid precautions were fantastic and so well organised. Unfortunately we felt the kitchen leT the rest of the place down. Food came just over the hour. Scampi was fine. 2 curries one was lukewarm and neither were served with the advertised extras of onion Bhaji and sag aloo. No one available to speak to as all staff busy so we lived with it. Wouldn’t return which is a shame as so much great work has been done here.

Loving the refurbishment. Much busier. Better atmosphere. Manageress has a great attitude. Food is lovely. Some items quite small portions. Particularly the mushroom starter! The menu is also quite limited so it would be difficult to eat there regularly without choosing the same thing. Have yet to visit when entertainment is on.

A very welcoming pub. Enjoyed the atmosphere which had a friendly feel. Good pub food and there was a lot on the menu to choose from. Plenty of tables inside and out. A good pub in the summer as there is outdoor activities for children. Staff very friendly.

Been going here for last two years, always seating available but the place is getting alot more popular. Food is cheap, which does show in the quality and ingredients but you always get your fill. Wide selections of drinks available service is always great during the weekdays, suffers considerably on weekends as more staff seem to be younger and are unable to keep track of who is at the bar first! Leaves punters quite frustrated and needing their drink even more! Still best in the area by a longway, I would give it a 4 but the management hasn't seemed to have adapted now the place is getting more popular!

A big choice of food, disappointed at them not having the chickpea curry as they had run out (at 13.00hrs), but to be fair the scampi and chips was presented well and everything was hot without my plate being unbearably hot to touch (as has been in other venues. Lovely, polite, friendly guys at the bar. Clean, comfortable venue with a large car park, seating outside to the front and a large garden area out the back with benches. Definitely worth another visit! Thank you!

The pub has had a lovely make over, this year's pale cpulors and deco lighting. Very stylish! It's really well set out with the main pub/drinking area at the front for a more busy, standing vibe and then the eating around the side and back but also with eating at the front if you want. Good menu, could've had a bit more vegan, vegetarian options, it's 2018 and the food world is changing. I had mushroom pie, mash and veg. Mash was from a packet so would have preferred real or even chips, that was the let down and the loss of 1 star. Cheap drinks which is always a bonus as pubs now seem to over charge.

It's not the best place, but as far as the local pubs go, the decor is nice and modern. The restaurant used to be grubby a year or so ago but now it's clean, the staff are friendly and the food is ok. Out of all these chain style pubs this one is probably one of the better ones in Northants.

I go to this pub every fortnight with my father we have pretty much the same and unfortunately we did have a bad experience a few weeks ago with both meal and service and we were both very disappointed and was considering to not go back which is a shame as we have been coming here for years however we did go back and we did have a very lovely meal and service was also good the manager did feel the need to come and speak to us about the review we had put on trip advisor as it was clear that the review had came from my father and me we did point out how bad the service and meal was and she took on board our gripes my dad did say afterwards how uncomfortable he felt being address in such a way my dad is very old school so sitting down having a meal and a manager addressing you with issues we had with our last experience my dad felt embarrassed and I'm not sure if because of this he will want to go back but as a lady myself working in the same profession I understand that we visit this restaurant every other week for many years and never felt the need to put anything on trip advisor but soon as we had a bad experience I felt the need to do so however the manager did point out we didn't share all the nice experiences we had so yes point taken I do agree as never really thought of it that way yes we do normally have a lovely service but I do think for my father the whole episode has slightly put him off which is a shame we did used to go to queen Eleanor or lumbertubs but me personally like the spinney but it's my dads choice so we will see

Over from belfast staying at my chums..first time id been in here.fab pub and lovely outside garden..only bad thing i would say was felt sorry for the poor guy behind the bar on his own he was multi tasking to try serve people drinks etc..food was lovely i got burger n chips..lovely location i will be back
