One of the great pub in Northampton and especially with friends and family, this is the right place to have fun. I have been here many times and I love chicken tikka curry with rice and bread, buttermilk chicken burger and spicy chicken wings is my favourite with a final taste of brownie with ice cream 😊. A huge thumbs up to this pub and I would recommend people to visit with your friends and family at-least once.

Good ale and very tender char-grilled chicken. A reasonable portion of roasted vegetables too. Staff friendly and helpful. I've been back since ... Another great experience ... A proper portion of roasted veg too ... A lot of Wetherspoon pubs could do with noting this portion size in my piccies ... I know how portioning works at Wetherspoons ... My daughters worked there for enough time. If you receive any less Roasted Vegetables than in my piccie here, refuse it and ask for a refund ... You are being taken for a fool .... Very friendly service and greeting here, particularly the male member of staff: Sam. I had the small vegetarian brunch with a kombucha and free refills coffee for just over a fiver! An interesting array of information on the walls commemorating the town's contribution to shoemaking. Food great value for money; clean inside and out with a nice terrace on two floors

Attractive venue and the historic photos on wall were a welcome interesting addition. Good sheltered garden area. Staff were superb. Our meal was well cooked and the drinks were good. Did not visit the toilets but Wetherspoon usually provide excellent facilities. Only avoided awarding 5stars because the table was wobbly.

A really nice JDW in Northampton. They have an amazing outdoor/garden seating. It was full on a summer weekday. The service and food was good. The staff were really kind and smiling all the time. It's in town centre with spacious seating. Worth a visit when in Northampton.

Went for a breakfast & found myself ordering a pint at 10am on a Wednesday. Breakfast was the Traditional Breakfast. I could tell everything was freshly prepared. Nice clean pub with friendly staff, affordable food & drinks. Well done & keep it up.

The venue is very nice, loads of space, bright and clean. It's a standard spoons brand and don't they really all look the same? Food as ever is quite basic, but it's not as cheap as it used to be, and unless the quality increases its going to be hard soon to justify the value Vs restaurants or other pubs that put a lot more effort on.

I have been here many times over many years and it's a great place for drinks and food. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is always very good. The staff are also very friendly.

Quite quiet at 10.30am . Sat on the upstairs terrace. Lovely terrace but needed a good clean. Customers downstairs very loud, looked under the influence of drugs or alcohol or both. Not my thing.

We came here as a family on Saturday evening. The food was served in good time, very reasonably priced and tasted good. We sat outside on the balcony area. I had the tomato soup, which was excellent. Rather bizarrely, when we ordered a fruit juice, it was brought out concentrated and we had to go back inside to add water at the bar. When we asked about this, no explanation was provided. Despite the good food and great prices, I couldn't recommend this place for families due to the unpleasant environment. Many other visitors were swearing and using vulgar language and whilst this is not the fault of the establishment, it does make it an inappropriate place to take young children.

Great pub central to town centre the draught Guinness is one of the best pints I've had from all over Britain. Also the barman phoned me a taxi which arrived outside the pub within minutes as for the pub the staff are very professional and the pub is spacious and clean

Really good Wetherspoon. Surprisingly full of atmosphere and the staff seemed to have time to talk to you. Overall cleanliness good and an amazing range of beers. Almost 5 stars. Chicken filling in a wrap was much less than other spoons (almost veggie) otherwise I would have given them a full 5 stars.

Good Wetherspoon with all the usual benefits. Set in an old shoe warehouse on 2 storeys. Service was good even though it was quite busy. After closing the Moon on the Square this is the only wetherspoon left. Good for a lunchtime meal. Will visit again next time I'm in town.

Very very busy when I entered on a Saturday afternoon. Not a face mask in sight. I decided to go elsewhere. It's not the pubs fault it's popular, I just chose not to risk it because I've a few health conditions. Otherwise, it's a large pub, very popular, as I said, with a large outdoor seating area.

In terms of the weatherspoons experience you know what you are going to get. It is cheap and that is the attraction. Unfortunately it only looked like there was 3 working on our visit and service was 50 50. One man was almost annoyed we were ordering and the other was super helpful. I would avoid the rooftop if you are going to sit in side as it was very cold and the door must remain open. Toilets were okay but tables were sticky.

I have to say, this is among the top five Weatherspoons we have visited near on a hundred, I say this because the drink; particularly the Guinness is excellent, the food first class and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The pub is also clean and on a Friday at 5 pm there's no rif raff!

Steak bloody when ordered well done - cold chips on my meal and my husband had a Luke warm jacket potato. They got sent back and we asked for fresh meals. Such a shame the meals didn't come out great first time - no problems second time. Then sat and enjoyed more drinks......come on Wetherspoons, get your act together!

What can you say about a wetherspoons you get exactly what it is cheap and cheerful, no music, average food and a major plus if you are small bladdered like me and hate the standard 7 mile walk to a spoons toilet, you can get a table upstairs on the same level.

A good town bar with plenty of charm. Very very cheap prices. Excellent space and well decorated interior. Quiet when I went in but soon got busier after 10. Good quality food served very late with excellent service. Exterior is well maintained and suitable for smokers and none smokers. Good staff, very polite and helpful. Will definitely be going again!

Fab "up and over" opening glass doors to the patio areas; can imagine in nice weather they'll be brilliant. Burger and chips for lunch. Can't beat it for price and taste. Now you’re thinking with such a big plate of food, that is such a high quality using ethical and local ingredients, that it will cost a fortune. Wrong! It’s a crazy bargain for an amazing meal. Also the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making the eating experience a really pleasant one.I will give 4 stars of 5 well deserved

Not the happiest memory cuz I've been there with my ex, but the food is usually good enough not to care. Personally, I recommend the British chicken wings, with prawns (or small pizza), and topped chips (or curry chips, depends what you're into), all under the "3 small plates" category for about £11. Other friends would recommend the dessert which apparently made their day, whilst another not so impressed by the dessert suggested the 1 £11 plate with spicy chicken wings, half rack bbq ribs, chips and fried onions. If they're enough for me, that's probably enough to satisfy more than the above-average incarnation of hunger.

I was surprisingly impressed. Weatherspoon pubs are renowned for being cheap and cheerful. Well you could say that's just what this one is or you could say it was excellent value with quality staff. A friend and I went for breakfast and both agreed it was excellent value. The staff were helpful and polite and the free drinks refills was most welcome. The pub was clean and well lade out. I'll go again. Oh toilets are miles away.

Generally good value for money - you can't fault the meal/drink offers. However very poor staffing levels, particularly in the downstairs bar - probably the worst I have ever come across in a Wetherspoons. I don't think having to wait over ten minutes to be served mid afternoon on a week day is acceptable and it hasn't just been the once. Whilst the tills are ringing nobody is really going to bother but a decent pub could become a really good pub with just that 'little' bit extra.

Cheap beer and not a bad pub at all. There was a few very drunk idiots in but not causing any real problems and it was 10 pm on a Saturday night so to be expected wherever you go. Definitely will be going back. One piece of advice there wasn't many staff on so get the app and save yourself a 10min stand at the bar

Lovely pub, a big improvement on the previous Wetherspoons. Felt very relaxed, food came extremely quick but tasted ok. The only gripe I had was how rude one of the barman was to us when ordering food, couldnt believe how he spoke to us without saying a hello or thankyou and seemed to be in a mood. He worked on a Saturday night and looks like Benny Hill, hes not hard to spot. Apart from him, I couldnt recommend it more.

Good quality food at low prices, but like all other Wetherspoons they don't consider single people eating, you have to order and pay at the bar & give a table number. At busy times this isn't easy when you're on your own, as by the time you've been served the table number you've given has probably been taken by somebody else!!, you can't leave a bag or coat at the table as they could be stolen or cause a security alert!!, Wetherspoons need to consider this!!

Not much different from any other Wetherspoons out there but the bouncers are nice blokes and the drinks are obviously the same price as the other pubs in the Spoons franchise. It's normally packed on weekends but it doesn't take too long to get served.

Good numbers of staff food came quickly within the 10 minutes advised on a busy Friday lunchtime. Not easy to find since The ridings is not signed. Was unaware of the upstairs bar and seating area till I had to go to the toilet. Beer prices at the bottom of their scale so a winner.

The service was really nice and the staff were friendly, they were even willing to show my son lots of attention as he wanted to run around and be silly. The food came really quickly and was really nice, not a single complaint.

After ten years of being a Lloyds No1, fully refurbished by the company in mid 2019. Most of the substantial beer garden has been encompassed through an extension into the main building, providing a lot more seating. The roof of this is an external terrace area on the first floor. New carpets, decor, lighting and toilets.

My second visit to this establishment, (since The Inn on The Square has closed!), and am quite satisfied with it. My husband & I were travelling north and needed a place to stop for lunch. I am quite well aquainted with both Witherspoon pubs, and the town of Northampton ( was born and used to live there & still keep coming back! ). This Witherspoons is a good place : a little cramped downstairs, but more spacious upstairs. Good food & quick service : only waiting 15mins for lunch! Have known much slower service elsewhere & will definitely return again when travelling this way.

Great choice of draught real ale (guest beers), regular draught beers, cider, wines and spirits. They serve good food and the staff are efficient and cheerful. The Cordwainer is the original name for the guild of shoemakers.

The best Wetherspoons in Northampton a few years ago. Now the only Wetherspoons in Northampton and as a result always busy. I'm a big fan of the Wetherspoons business model for what it offers the customer for the money.
