Absolutely amazing, been looking to back for ages and it was even better than ever, the food was insanely good, if you are looking for cheap nasty pub grub then you will be disappointed but if you are looking for quality well cooked food then get yourself over there xoxo

Called into this pub on the way back from a walk round Sywell Country Park for a beer with my wife and son and his partner. His beer and we had their cheers board very good.

The food was stunning! Had the trio of meats roast and every part of it was outstanding 5 ⭐ The only reason they lose a star is because the service was slow unfortunately. However the food was great so I'll definitely be visiting again and may add a star if the service improves. Compliments to the chef!

Joined friends for a meal here a few weeks ago. Initial impressions were great. Reasonable parking, nice decor welcoming staff. I don't know if they were short staffed on that evening or not, but everything just seemed to take too long, with long waits between staff returning to us.
The food itself was great, with some original dishes on the menu, along with a few old favourites to give everyone choice. Did not get to try their deserts due to long delay in clearing the table & then returning to see if we wanted anything (by which time it was gone 10:30pm and some folks had to be departing for early starts). Would happily recommend for the food & hope the service was just a lack of attention but it did spoil the evening a bit (and marked down rating by a star accordingly).

Very tastefully decorated with pleasant staff and happy hour beer prices not cheap but nice country/village pub

Really good food, would recommend. Dinner was amazing. Service a little disjointed when we returned for a lunch.

Lovely, local, homely, and friendly restaurant.
The roast dinner was amazing. I sampled the trio of meats.
I loved the dessert too. 😋
Definitely go back and highly recommended.

Went for sunday lunch for daughter's birthday, service was very slow, table not ready when we arrived had to wait for it to be relayed, each course was very slow to arrive, i dont like being rushed between courses but this was slow, food was good, but veg were very crunchy to say the least, had to ask for extra gravy as minimal on plates, puddings were very nice. So very much a mixed reaction from the other diners, dont think i would rush back. Sorry 👀👀

Lovely pub and have made a real effort to accommodate out door eating and they have semi succeeded we had a great afternoon there for my Mrs birthday great menu and choices we shared the cheese and bread starter and the meat starter between us that was OK scotch egg would of been better hot tbf had a nice aparol spritz. main was amazing pork belly smashed it and the crochet wow 👏 (just a shame there was a black hair in it at the end of it) Mrs had the garlic and mushroom pasta that was ridiculously good and the steaks were epic but of smoke in the and the char on it yummy 😋 and with drink and coffee and 2 deserts it was 45 a head
Verdict:
Excellent will be back 100%
Also shout out to the waitress seemed a little flustered but great service and went over and above to accommodate us.
Covid compliant clean and everyone masked up

Just had a delightful Sunday lunch at the Griffin ......3 people, combination of starters, 3 different main courses send 3 different desserts......all outstanding. Can't fault the portions or value for money. Very friendly and professional team.

Ate here recently with a friend. The food was tasty as was the beer. The prices were reasonable and the service was friendly. Would happily visit again

Had a meal from the Christmas menu, from start to finish we were treated fantastic, the staff were very polite and there appearance was very smart.
The presentation of the food was amazing and the amount was very filling.
100% you must try this restaurant.

Came here this evening for a meal, chose the vegan option, absolutely delicious really impressed, lovely friendly staff too, we will be back

We all had a lovely meal. Wonderful polite, helpful attentive & friendly waitresses & waiter. Very Clean, plenty of space inside & out. Just one thing, no prices on the menu, so the Bill was a bit of a shock.
Highly recommend though.
Thank you everyone.

Lovely meal. Have booked again to have a family get together there next month.

Great food and newly updated beer garden. Every table has a gas powered heater and its such a treat, other pubs could learn from this. Having said that, the service was a little slow as they were busy but the heater, great vibe and music meant we weren't too bothered.
M. D.
Very nice waitresses although a little slow, the food was overpriced but it did taste good.
C. M.
Just brilliant. Friendly, helpful staff. Great menu, food was freshly cooked and delicious. Slightly more expensive than some other pubs, but worth every penny. Would absolutely recommend.
J. P.
The venue is lovely and the food truly stunning. Adam the chef produces amazing dishes which look and taste amazing.

Wow thats was the tastiest Sunday roast I think I've ever had ...(sorry mum) ... love staff and lovely pub will definitely be going back think this my new favorite restaurant 😀

Great food. Soft shell crabs fabulous.
Great service. Wonderfully attentive and helpful waitress.
Great menu to work through on subsequent trip. 6 very happy lunchtime diners.
J. M.
A brilliant night out spent with the family. The warmth of the hospitality more than made up for the cold May night and Adam and his team served genuinely tasty and clever food, way beyond the norm. Love the serving team. These Guys earn your dollar many times over, J

Had a Xmas meal last week, lovely food.
The Pub was busy and had a great atmosphere

four of us stopped by for Sunday lunch, staff were happy to offer us a table even though we hadn't booked. Menu was varied with locally sourced produce, staff were knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We all enjoyed the food and the quality was very good and would visit again. I'd say it was slightly more expensive than other "Sunday Lunches" or carvery's but they did offer two prices if you wanted smaller portions on some of the meals. Overall a very nice experience.
M. R.
Super lunchtime food. Great selection of ales and reasonably priced house wine. Incredible steaks.. Melt in the mouth with incredible textured and flavour. Local pheasant was marvellous and our two labradors made most welcome. So delightful we've booked in for Sunday lunch.
S. D.
We had a lovely roast dinner , however our pudding wasn't impressive, as the custard was cold after being sent back once . It was also as thin a rice paper . The pudding which was crumble also wasn't that warm either . We think our puds were ready , but forgotten about . Won't be going back for a while .

First time visit. couldn't fault it
Lovely Sunday roast, staff gave a friendly welcome and excellent service. Dog friendly always a bonus

Very friendly staff with a great selection of food
J. S.
A really nice pub that is truly thriving under new management. Good selection of beers and lagers and some really tasty things on the menu, that I have gradually been working through this winter. The main menu is complimented by a specials board and a separate steak board, both of which are laden with tempting options.

Visited Saturday evening, very busy and long wait for drinks and food but when it came it was all very nice. My expectations was a quiet village pub with good food but the reality is this is a village pub and was noisy at the bar, if you want a quiet meal go somewhere else but if you don't mind a lot of background noise and raising your voice to be heard it's great. I went for quiet meal and was disappointed with the ambience.
S. M.
A lovely country pub but had to run the gauntlet of the locals (mainly men) to get to our table. A good menu and well presented however my steak and kidney pudding wasn't made as a suet pudding but a crusty pie crust in the shape of a pudding. As pub grub goes it isn't cheap.
C. F.
Excellent recently refurbished village location with car park to rear and some street parking. Quality menu appropriately priced. Contemporary interior with historical detail. Very good staff and service. Book for busier times. Attractive garden seating area to front. Recommended.

Hadley served us some great cocktails 🍸

We were passing through, looking for somewhere nice to stop for lunch. Spotted the Griffin's Head and turned back to go there. Reception was very welcoming from our hostess from start to finish. Our food was wonderful, proportional, and left us knowing we had eaten but not to discomfort. We plan, without hesitation, to visit again.
F. M.
This delightful pub in a beautiful rural village is Dog friendly with allocated eating area for well behaved dogs and owners. Great food, and menu. The Spaghetti I ordered with smoked salmon and prawns was superbly cooked. The Griffin is added to my favorite places for me and my Dog Archie to visit regularly.

We rushed here after leaving baggage in B&B down the road. We had no booking but we were given a table. I had hake and my wife had fish and chips. To be recommended. Got slow service when the pub filled up.
E. S.
nice place just had drinks. will look at booking food as looked really nice

Lovely 2 room village pub. Good food, good service and usually a good choice of beer on handpump. There are 2 bars, a lounge with sofas and a small restaurant area and a back bar with tables. There's also an outside seating area for when the weather's conducive.
S. R.
We booked in advance and had a very good pub lunch, even though we arrived late. Nice varied menu and child friendly. Recommended!
R. B.
The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly, there was a wide selection of beers to choose from and the staff were really friendly. A great night out.

Lovely buffet lunch on offer whilst kitchen refit was in progress. Temporary licence means alcohol can only be served Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which may be a problem for some...
D. W.
Excellent meal. Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

This is our favouite pub at the moment, great home cooked food at a good price, good beer, friendly staff, if this place was not tucked away down a little country lane you would have to book days in advance for a meal.
