Steve and crew were amazing. Really attentive. Table service all night long with no empty’s left for long. I went here due to a recommendation so had to taxi as I know what I’m like. I was lucky enough to have had some of the food. Wasn’t really hungry till I saw it being dished up. Can’t recommend enough. See you there 🤪

These 4 stars come with a caveat: visit on certain nights. There are two managers, one older and one younger. The older one has been borderline offensive on the two occasions I’ve been in when he’s been there and would be wise to watch what …

We hired the malthouse for a baby shower.
The room was brilliant, really nice decor with wooden beams, neutral walls and nice furniture. It had air con (thankfully, as it was 30c!) its own loo, a TV where you can hook up to a USB and speakers where you can plug into via aux lead.
Steve was very helpful and accomodating. I would 100% book this room again!

Unsure of the review before my own, have had nothing but pleasant experiences, I think Richard may have got out of the wrong side of his bed! Great staff and great service including those damned in the previous.

Good venue. Attracts locals and passing trade. Outside catering of high standard. Friendly young staff. Dogs and families welcome. Large TV room, popular with football crowd.

Nice selection of beer, good atmosphere and nice inside. Outside seating area is also very good, especially with the heaters. The sealing is a bit low when heading to the outside area/function room, so tall people remember to duck! haha

Came here with a friend after poor service from a nearby pub and thankfully it was the complete opposite. Served straight away unlike before when I was fervently stopped from walking towards the bar. Very nice street food van outside too so will look to return at the next opportunity

Well, what can I say about this place. My best friend and her Fiance married this weekend at Norwich Castle, and held their Wedding Reception here.
We had an amazing day. Much of this was due to Steve the Landlord, and his staff. What a lovely man, and, the staff were an amazing young team. They could not do enough for us. So friendly, so sweet and polite. An absolute credit to the venue and Steve. Thank you Steve for allowing us to come in early to set up, so much appreciated. Very kind of you.
A superb friendly pub, enhanced by the regulars of the "four legged" kind.
All eager to have a tummy rub, or a doggy treat from behind the bar. Excellent dog friendly place. The pets were all under control and not rollocking about the place. Even if you are not a pet fan, this place is a must to visit as they were all impeccably behaved. Had we have not been staying at a hotel, we certainly would have brought our four legged friends with us.
The wedding party were not all local people. We ranged from Ireland, to Leeds, to Londoners, with a few Norwich folk thrown in. All of the regulars made us totally welcome.
From me, who ran pubs for over 26 years and my family and friends, whom many of us have been in this industry, and know what makes a good pub, a massive thank you to you, Steve, and your staff. When I am next down that way, I will certainly return.
Clean, friendly, good choice of beers, food, dogs, wonderful staff and quite simply, a beautiful pub. You must pay it a visit!!
