Reviews of Admiral Rodney

Lovely traditional pub with nice relaxed atmosphere. We went for Sunday lunch and booked in advance which I would recommend as I doubt we would have got a table otherwise. At £12.95 for a Sunday dinner I expected it to be better than average. Meat and roast parsnips were fab and it’s great to have cauliflower cheese included with no extra cost, a star deducted for the other veg and roast potatoes for being a bit bland. Overall would recommend and will be returning to try other dishes.

Lovely staff, food and atmosphere. Only giving it a four because i need to try more of the food but also the bathrooms need a bit of tlc. Also the quiz is fantastic!
K. B.
Very welcoming! Great value for money and lovely food. Really nice pub, lovely garden and made us and our dog feel very welcome 😀

Good food, good beer. As it's a Greene King I usually expect the food to be decent, they are one of the better pub chains. Curiously they seemed to have an older menu than the one I usually see at the venue I usually visit - I assumed they would all have the same menu, but it was still very nice! This time when I visited, it was somewhat quiet, there were families with children but no one was super loud! Staff were polite and fast.

If you are looking for a sunday roast look no further amazing meal two different types of meat, so well done it melted in your mouth, large portions and a free, yes free pudding, greenking you have upped your game for this public house amazing choice of beers and superb service ...try it ...but book if not early

Second time having a meal at the Admiral Rodney and wasn't disappointed. Lovely friendly atmosphere, bar staff very friendly and food superb. Proper, freshly cooked food. Batter on halumi so light and crispy, same with salt and pepper squid. Will definitely be going there a third time, can't wait. Definitely recommend.

A great little pub managed by Greene King but with local beers on offer. Manages to combine being a pub, restaurant and a place to watch sport all in the same venue but it works! We booked a table for seven on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm for a family birthday get together. Good value food, service prompt, ordered and paid for at the bar or via the GK app. Not far from Wollaton Hall and Park. Would visit again.

Me and my girlfriend were at a lecture in Wollaton We'd Feb 2nd so decided to pop in to three pubs. Rodney was nice, warm and pleasant, nice atmosphere. Bar staff were great and professional. Good drinks too. Well worth the visit.

Lovely traditional pub with a good selection of drinks. Dog friendly. We ordered the Sunday Lunch, which was a generous portion and tasty, although the beef was advertised as rare on the menu but arrived well done. We had booked a table for 12:15pm and arrived around 5 minutes early. We were shown to a table and ordered our food a few minutes later. Our meals did not arrive until around 1:15pm, consequently we had only just finished eating when we were asked by a male member of staff to vacate the table for another party who had booked the same table for 1:45pm. We told him that we were just finishing our drinks, to which he replied that we would have to move immediately as the other party were waiting and there was a sign on the table saying that it was reserved from 1:45pm. He was very abrupt and we all felt that this was quite rude. I would not expect to be asked to leave an establishment immediately after finishing my main course, especially in such an abrupt and unapologetic manner.

4th visit here for food. Excellent as usual. The best Sunday lunch I've had in a pub. Great choice of meals, very helpful staff, everything really good. Cant wait to visit again. Thanks Admiral Rodney!! 😁👏
g. h.
Lovely service, I have a mobility aid and struggle to move around, the host moved us to a more accessible table. The wait staff were very polite and friendly, food was great. Lovely atmosphere.
a. b.
Great pub friendly atmosphere and the food is lovely.
J. N.
Brilliant food this afternoon with the family,
Lovely staff and nice big portion.
L. P.
What a total delight. Lovely food and atmosphere. Will definitely go again and recommend to all . Well done
D. K.
Very simple, ok food, overpriced for what it is. Even with the lunch deals its still poor value for what you pay. Service was good and setting was nice.
A. M.
I have gone to this pub so many times and I have never had a bad meal or drink! staff are very friendly, best pub in the area 😁👍
R. C.
Great service, very quick. Food was lovely. Outside seating is well arranged.
D. H.
Visited this 18th Century pub for the first time today since I was in my 20's. The place as not changed that much, it's still got the open fire and a comfy atmosphere. The food and drinks where ok but the service was a little slow and I felt that they wanted to serve the regulars first. I like the over 60's menu there as it's a good selection. Carpark is quite large and there is an outside eating area ready for the summer. I left however coughing and spluttering at a smoker just outside the main door, he should have been put in a room on his own with no windows
D. M.
Lovely pub and great food friendly staff gets very busy
D. S.
Nice pub. Good food. Great range of beers.
Was busy for a Wednesday, though probably because of the football and then a quiz night
R. A.
Great pub food. Service with a smile and great staff
C. S.
Great Staff, Lovely atmosphere, Nice selection of Beers, Wines and Spirits
S. Q.
This pub is truly lovely. I'd assumed it may be dark and dingy, being one of the oldest pubs in the area. But I was happily surprised. Really friendly staff and regulars too. I'll definitely be going again
M. S.
Great village Pub, Good atmosphere. I'm a women and go in on my own and I feel fine. Food excellent. Had chicken and bacon salad last night, never disappoints. So enjoy the sky sports, plus they show our local teams which is great. All the staff are well trained and friendly and very hygiene conscious. All in all definitely worth a visit after a visit to local attractions and especially Wollaton Park.
A. D.
Proper bang average food but it’s a decent pub with really friendly staff. Love being able to order of the phone as well.
L. H.
Good food, reasonably priced and the dog could come too!
V. I.
Very nice place. Friendly staff. The food was all amazing. Can highly recommend the Yorkshire wraps though the pies looked very good too.
B. R.
First choice of food not available bit maybe that's the times. Bit of a wait for food but lunchtime so again to be expected. Plenty of space and nice outdoor space
T. T.
Almost everything about this was pleasing, the atmosphere, beer, food were all very good, the Staff were polite and professional,
The disappointment was the men's toilets, there was no urinals and toilets were smelly .
C. S.
Great service, food perfect, lovely pub all round.
N. H.
Lovely place after a long walk nearby very friendly staff and enjoyed the food and drinks too
C.
Lovely dog friendly pub, staff always friendly and food is a good standard!
P. F.
Meals are good albeit higher prices than a normal Greene king - drinks also expensive.
Traditional pub setting and friendly staff.
D.
Lovely atmosphere. The most pleasant place to be in Wollaton. Unfortunately the food 'appears' to be pre produced off site and is not of a magnificent quality.
T. m.
Me and my mates booked in for christmas.lunch. staff were very helpful, the food was amazing and plenty of food on offer. Will defo go back. And socially distancing which is important to me.
S. H.
Coaching house style pub. Met with friends for Sunday lunch here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food ok, free dessert was a nice bonus. Toilets not good, broken seat didn't look very clean. Would be more stars if they improve toilets and food better quality.
L. H.
Stopped here for a quick drink while out on a bike ride. Slightly confusing as all the signage was still up about table service but after downloading the app it said table service was unavailable. Pub is nice inside, very traditional and lots of room in beer garden.
G. F.
Great pub with fabulous atmosphere. Food choices very good & food standard great & fab prices too. Staff all lovely, just a great 'proper' pub, thanks for lovely birthday meal we will definitely be back.100% recommended.Just lovely.
S. M.
Tracy and the team accommodated us for my Husbands wake at exceptionally short notice and provided the most amazing buffet spread for the attendees. It was a pub which my husband visited many times during his life and it was extra special being able to celebrate his life there with family and friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the staff were very attentive. We couldn't have asked for anything more and can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you so much for making a hard time that bit easier xx
C. T.
Finally some decent pub grub, good quantity of food and really tasty. I had the chicken tikka and my wife had the fried halloumi, which were both devoured.
The only negative, was a staff member kept coming outside to the beer garden and smoking near us while we were eating. However, I can't mark them down for this because everything else was spot on.
Thanks again.
P. P.
Food was OK, nothing special, had beetroot an goats cheese salad, except it wasn't goats cheese, peppercorn sauce was one like gravy. Just basic pub grub
s.
Awesome food by Phillip, man should have some stars after his name, legendary chef and thanks for the great recommendation.
A. S.
Decent food a good selection of ales and friendly staff highly recommended
S. M.
Great Pub!! The Food is lovely! Great Prices, lovely atmosphere, great decor.. staff are really lovely and friendly too, great pub to have a meal or a few drinks at!
J.
Staff friendly, made us feel welcome, food nice ,dog friendly, recommended
R. S.
Excellent food and quick service in a friendly local pub.
Food good tonight and it was nice to sit outside.
a. s.
Great food, great staff. Always a lovely lunch!
J. D.
5 stars to The waiter called Sam who made our dining experience today. He was very friendly, pleasant and attentive. Nothing was too much and he couldn't do enough. This is why we would return.
The chicken wings were really nice and I would recommend them.
As mentioned before the reason we would return regardless of the price of the bill is the service we received, Sam is an asset to The Admiral Rodney
Kind regards
J. W. P.
Nice friendly staff. Enjoyed the meal we had.
A. P.
A very friendly venue for a drink (or 3!). The pub is in the lovely Wollaton Village next to the Church and only a short walk from Wollaton Hall (5 minutes). The quiz nights on Sundays and Wednesdays are always very popular with the very enthusiastic Tom.
P. M.
Old village pub close to Wollaton Park. One large room and two small snug rooms. Good food and a decent choice of beers. Excellent outdoor area.
F. L.
Good selection of real ales in a traditional village pub setting. Will have to go back to try the food sometime, looked amazing from what we seen!
A. S.
Nice friendly pub. Ordered through the app and service was prompt. Drinks were cold and food plentiful and hot. Cant ask for more.
P. B.
Nice pub, shame about the disgusting toilets.
I. L.
Very cosy pub with open fire place. 😍
G. S.
Good pub food and friendly staff
P. L.
It's a lovely place but the food was a bit of a disappointment. My chicken breast was tough as boots and my daughter's toastie was burnt black? Can't understand that they still served it didn't they look?
G. A.
Dropped in for a spontaneous drink with 'Er Indoors', we enjoyed it.
J. S.
Great local, friendly staff, good food.
M. J.
Chilled out pub with nice food. Serving staff are lovely. Dogs are welcome so we stop when walking with dog from park.
s. G.
Great pub. Very dog friendly with its own doggy bar with water bowls and biscuit tin. Had a lovely meal typical pub grub but was nice to see a pie with a pastry case and lid not just a puff pastry lid. Chips were delicious and selection of gin was exciting plus the choice on the good menus was great almost spoilt for choice. Very welcoming atmosphere
G. H.
Lovely welcome from the waitress, food was exceptional service but not pushy, altogether a lovely eating experience, will definitely go again.
J. K.
Very nice pub
G. W.
Busy at weekends, friendly staff and the beer is kept well.
R. M.
Excellent place I always enjoy food here
V. S.
We and our 2 boston terriers were made really welcome and the food was lovely
J. A.
Does what it says on the tin. Wings were quite decent.
S. G.
Found this pub on Google. Great doggy pub!! Lots of other people there with their dogs. Had a nice down to earth pub meal in quaint rustic surroundings. Friendly staff. We came here because whilst visiting an area we were not familiar with we wanted a meal. Had the dog with us and didn't want to leave her in the car. Two pubs we tried wouldn't allow the dog in and one even said it was illegal. ITS NOT ILLEGAL. THE RULE IS NO DOGS WHERE FOOD IS BEING PREPARED. It is quite legal for dogs to be where food is served. See the Kennel Club Web Site. So lovely to find this pub with their friendly accepting attitude towards the furry member of our family.
N. R.
Lovely pub. Was my first visit last night. Came for a meeting and we were in the snug. Lovely cosy room beautifully decorated. Buffet food provided for the meeting was superb and excellent quality. Staff were very good and polite when I asked if I could bring my dog in to sit with me. They later came and said hi to my dog and made us feel very welcome
J. A.
Friendly, professional staff with very well organised social distancing.
Good pub food too.
Outside seating to rear in nice quiet village setting.
Probably best to book a table.
S. G.
Really friendly pub with great outside seating area. Didn't try the food but the menu looked nice.
L. D.
Don't order a cocktail unless you want the staff to complain and roll their eyes! But other than that a lovely little pub with a good variety of food and drink. Nice outdoor seating as well.
j. b.
Well quite a few years since I last visited and I will be going again ,food varied , not too shabby and hope to sit inside next time . Did a great covid secure job as well
S. M.
Recently refurbished local pub with good range of beers and food. Dog 🐕 friendly too in the back bar with a real fireplace.
S. A.
Went with a friend after taking her to hospital appt. Staff very welcoming, friendly and attentive. We both chose a brunch from the 2 for 1 menu and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. Definitely like to visit again. 😊
L. M.
I think the food is a little overpriced, though it was good. I guess you get what you pay for. I enjoyed my drinks. The staff were very busy as it was Sunday, every member of staff I spoke to (the lady who I ordered my food and drink from at the bar, the two ladies serving at the bar, and the lady who brought us our food,) were extremely helpful, pleasant, and efficient. I would go there again.
C. L.
Good, but not as good as it used to be. Came in prior to the renevation and had one of the best pie experiences of my life, however post renevation it's been disappointing, with pretty standard pub food. Now we find our selves waiting for almost an hour for our microwaved pies! It's still a nice pub, with nice staff.
R. W.
We visited late afternoon (around quarter to 3) for an early tea.
The place wasn't particularly busy at this time; a few tables were reserved for later on in the evening but there were plenty of seating available, inside and out, so you wouldn't struggle to find a table if you came at this time.
We did find that the food was very slow.
We waited an hour from ordering! Which we was abit confused about as, as mentioned it really wasn't busy & most people seemed to just be ordering drinks from the bar.
The children's food came out first, which was good, but we then had to wait almost another 20mins for ours to follow.. thankfully our son is only 2 so dosen't eat very fast, otherwise he'd of finished before we'd of even started!
The food when it arrived was really nice.
The pub itself was extremely clean, as we waited so long I found myself just looking around & even at the ceiling! There wasn't a single cobweb or bit of dust on the beams, or windows etc
We would definitely visit again
N. T.
Nice little Pub, visited on a Saturday at 17:00, not busy served at bar quickly. Food took longer than a previous visit, coming in at 20 minutes. The sausages were burnt and the steak and ale pie was over cooked, with the crust being very dry and a bit burnt. Not sure i liked the long rectangular plate, but it did look good. We were not asked if we were happy with our food, otherwise we may have complained about the food.
T. D.
Thank you so much to all the staff at the Admiral Rodney tonight. First night after lockdown and they were fantastic. Food was great. . ( Daughter 19th Birthday 🎂) .
S. S.
Friendly staff, food OK but not great!
F. J.
We tend to go here for food as an after school treat about once a month. The little alcove works great for us as we go with the children. Good draft beer and decent wine collection too. Both my kids wish the Mac and cheese was a choice on the kids menu as a dish on it's own (rather than as a small portion in a little dish with chips and beans)
S. P.
Had an amazing sunday toast and a free pud.great staff and atmosphere. Soon to be one of our favs
j. b.
Good pub, nice outside space, a little on the pricy side but friendly staff and great ales well maintained
M. S.
I saw this pub on the bus route L10 before it turned left Wollaston Road thought it looked beautiful. And beautifully situated and it looked a quiet peaceful and beautifully kept area.
Admiral Rodney what a fab name also. But sadly I've never been in. I wondered if this pub served meals.
D. A.
Came here for a drink in the beer garden. It is a decent pub. Drinks were reasonably priced and the choice was good.
Didn't eat there so can't comment but would return to test it out.
R. R.
Very friendly staff, very nice pub and great food.
P. S.
How I love this pub, slightly biased opinion with it being local to my house but it's everything I want from a local pub. Decent beer, good food and staff that clearly care about its customers.
Dropped in for Sunday dinner with the family and couldn't fault it......decent sized portion that should satisfy anyone's appetite. Looking forward to a return visit very soon.
K. W.
Amazing friendly staff (I think landlady but helped us download app for free beer - that's a thumbs up from us)lovely type country pub who serves amazing food .. would definitely go again..felt very welcomed.. also very clean I have to say .. give it a go 👍👍👍👍
R.
They keep covid restrictions very well.
Food typical pub grub and bland
Toilets leave a lit to be desired.
Staff really nice and deserve better.
C. W.
Lovely food, staff and service. Came for lunch after a walk round wollaton park. Was early afternoon and calm quiet relaxed atmosphere. Food was enjoyable. Would return again. Lovely landlady
J.
Had a really nice meal here.Staff all friendly and helpful.very good👍
A. W.
Visited for lunch for first time today. Looks recently refurbished with a pleasant, relaxing and comfortable decor. Staff very friendly and attentive, menu varied and reasonably priced and we both enjoyed our meals. We will definitely return and would recommend.
X. F.
Great ambiance, very good food and a wonderful balance of food and drinks!
T. J.
Visited this pub after a walk in Wollaton Park, the pub was a regular haunt for me but have not been in the area for 30 years.
The former homely feel of the landlord run is gone and replaced by the pub chain atmosphere.
Chose to drink the Doom Bar ale as have sampled this excellent beer many times, much better and less expensive than in this location it has to be said.
Had to wait an eternity for the food to arrive, despite being the only diners.
Menu was limited and very pricey for the selection offered, very unpalatable when it finally arrived i must add.
One point in its favour would be the village pub feel seems to remain, this though is lost as soon as you pay a visit to the squalid excuse for a gents toilet.
This pub chain will continue to collect passing trade, due to the park and the fact the locals have a poor competitor in the Hemlock Stone nearby.
A very poor operation, at prices you would expect to pay in a pub you would like to visit again.
J. S.
Staff were friendly and had a great sense of humor. Dinner portions were generous and tasty. The furniture could use some repair, though! Would definitely go back.
D. D.
First class pub, meals excellent, staff very friendly and it is very dog friendly. Will definitely be back again anytime in the area. Well recommended.
L.
What a fabulous traditional, but, very trendy pub this is in a very lovely village setting, right next to woollaton park, and with friendly locals too. Beer and food is very good and there is a quiz night every Wednesday & Sunday....... All in all a very good night......?!
J. B.
Lovely pub. Cosy and friendly.
R. B.
Nice pub with good selection of drinks on offer. Dog friendly so gets full 5 stars! Never eaten here so no comment.
K. F.
Best traditional pub near Wollaton - good ale selection and a very nice Sunday Roast. Good parking on site if you need it. Can be a bit crowded at times but service is fast at the bar.
T. M.
Had lunch with my friend. The staff, service and food were great. Going back on 4th July.
K. R.
Proper old fashioned country village pub with Oak beamed low ceilings & Oak paneled walls right in the centre of wollaton within easy walking distance from the famous wollaton deer park.
Excelent food & beers at reasonable prices. Friendly family owned tradition English pub.
J. M.
Lovely little pub close to Wollaton Park. Great for dog walkers as they are very dog friendly. Service was a little on the slow side but that may have been because there was only one person on shift, other than that it was a lovely afternoon.
s. b.
Nice little pub on first reflection.
Toilets are little grubby and could do with a good cleaning and refreshing.
Food is ok but not outstanding.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
P. “. L.
A good pub with a wide selection of beers and does good food. Popular with local groups for lunches. Very friendly staff who are well known to clientele.
G. B.
Lovely pint of Old Mount Cider and social distancing in place so a safe pub, track n trace before you order then table service!
R. T.
Very pleased to see that the public bar is much as I remember it from the sixties. Great for dog walkers and their four legged friends. Good choice of cask ales and a relaxing environment.
D. F.
All the staff doing a great job of keeping everyone safe in these testing times 😀 still
S. D.
Interesting pub. Great staff and food
B. S.
Lovely food, brilliant staff, quick service and dog friendly
K. W.
Lovely, oldy worldly pub, still has a bar area, a snug and little nooks and crannies where people can enjoy wonderful food, excellent variety of drinks and a bit of privacy if required, the staff are lovely, helpful and knowledgeable, the menu is extensive, catering for all tastes and the service is punctual and discreet, we had a very enjoyable lunchtime experience and was very surprised at the value for money this establishment provided, yes we will be going again, hope to see you there. 🍷🍻😍🌷🇬🇧
N. S.
Very nice food and table service was excellent what a fantastic experience outside x
P. R.
Excellent local heritage pub. Good choice of beers friendly staff and locals. Food looked good. Highly recommended. Bus stop near by.
P. S.
Nice friendly staff, good selection of wine and drinks.
j. c.
Friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere. Menu pricing confusing and a bit more expensive than similar pubs but good portions and well presented.
D.
Difficult to get served. The staff seem to do a lot of walking backwards and forwards to serve one customer. I had a baguette and found it wanting for the price. Exposed filiment light bulbs at blinding if you sit in the wrong place. Music is mainly extreme jazz and 80s. The prices are more than surrounding pubs... Why....they need to oil hinges regularly. Raver so often another thing appears on each table and gets higher. I counted 3 containers with 18 items in them. Reaching 42cms high. Plus drinks plus food equals too little room for 4 people. Nice pub but they to question what important to a potential customer. Oh and sticky tables tops every time I'm in there, but not the only pub to do this.
S. P.
The best steak ever! Well done grilled
B. G.
Meal was lovely, as we're the staff. Very pleasant experience
I. J.
The Admiral Rodney is a lovely old pub located right in the heart of wollaton village. It is such a cosy, historic place and very well worth a visit for a drink and lunch. Very close to the beautiful wollaton park, and its easy to walk from one to the other.
M. J.
Lovely local in the old traditional style. Welcoming and friendly serving good quality food. Enjoyed my visit.
J. S.
A fabulous cosey village pub, with a decent-sized outdoor area.
c.
Come every week, sometimes twice for the quiz. Average prices, can be fairly dear but a decent range of beverages. Great atmosphere however, with a lovely interior.
J. T.
Nice pub to go for a drink, food isn't as good as others in the area. Can be difficult to get a table at peak times, so it's worth booking if you're planning on eating
C. H.
A lovely unspoiled pub with a good selection of ales.
J. J.
We visited today after our #GetFitNotts walk around Wollaton Park. 12 of us had Sunday lunch and we were very well looked after. The place is oldy worldy looking, staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

FIRST CLASS SERVICE AND STAFF
J. S.
I have only been here twice so far and both times the foods been lovely we usually end up in a pub around Wollaton after a regular walk around the park and have to say this is the nicest and the food is great and reasonably priced will be certinley be heading back often
E. M.
Great food and atmosphere and in winter the open fire is very cosy.
K. M.
Best pub in Wollaton but it is over priced. Be on your guard against short measure for real ale. Somewhat spoilt by smokers standing outside main carpark entrance Management allow electronic cigarettes BIG mistake this will lose them business.. people don't like noxious fumes.
D. L.
Best pub to go to for safe distance and great service off chef and staff all working hard to keep the customers happy 5 star this pub can't fault it well done all and Darren x
T. H.
Lovely food , good service , friendly staff
M. R.
Food here was lovely. The portions are massive. And I like a big portion lol.
The pieces are also very inexpensive.
Will definitely return. Thank you
M. B.
Great food good atmosphere
S. K.
Still not allowed inside, but the food and menu is very nice, and very good value.
l. m.
Food excellent, staff excellent, beer excellent, only criticism is some of the clientele expect 5star Michelin star food from what is simply pub grub, most of the patrons Are up there own backsides because of the status and location of the pub which is a shame because it’s a really nice pub and the staff are amazing and try their best, unfortunately it will never be good enough for the 10 bob millionaires.
D. T.
Excellent food and service, good protocols in place, not too busy!
N.
Good food and very cheap as it's a wetherspoons.
A. R.
Excellent pub, really nice and reasonably priced food, good selection of drinks etc and really nice atmosphere. Has become our preferred local.
l. C.
Went here for business lunch.Absolutley outstanding.Great food with polite proffessional staff.Manageress was wonderful with a cheerful personality.would recommend to anyone wanting a cosy pub with a relaxing atmosphere.Thank You for such a pleasant lunch
D. T.
Nice atmosphere, good beers. Food isn't great, it used to be good a couple of years ago but has gone downhill.
R. C.
Popped in for a quick pint and was not disappointed! Great range of ales and beers on offer in a lovely looking pub will definitely be coming back again.
r. b.

G. W.
Nice pub with good food and drink.

Great organisation of covid restrictions, food and beer good. Shame they have took Stella off the drinks menu.
L. K.
Met with family for lunch. Haven't been there for a long time. Decent beer, good service, and meal pretty good.
M. M.
A lovely relaxing place, haven't tried the food yet but we will do the next time we go.
D. D.
Very nice place to have a drink or some food very accommodating
M. P.
Very nice pub, outside seating, cosy inside, good selection of beers and lager's. Locals pub but not in a bad way.
S. P.
Good modernised country pub in the small village of wollaton (very close to wollaton hall)
Cozy feel with lots of hidden areas making a busy pub feel comfortable.
Small outdoor area.
Good food, good drinks. Pub quiz on Sunday.
P. R.
Great Atomsphere good food
Green King, my wife really enjoyed the chick pea curry, the yourkshire wrap no so good. Good facilities no parking
A. H.
Lovely food, great service. Sam is a star!
D. S.
Had lunch here on Sunday 21.1.18 and the veg was nice except for the roast potatoes which were cooked to a pulp. Also the chicken was so hard it was inedible!
N. S.
The beer was nice, and the pub is quite pretty.
Sadly the choice of the background music didn't really fit the place and turned out to be quite annoying . Might go back again, but I left with a mixed impression.
D. N.
Live the fact this pub has a dog friendly room. Staff were friendly and the beer was great. A gorgeous old pub full of character.
D. C.
Just popped in for a quick drink but it was fairly busy even early in the evening so it's clearly a popular place. Good choice of beers too.
U. B.
Service very slow. Poor staff communication
Lovely setting, quiet, clean, good choice of food.
c. l.
Visited here last week the food was fantastic. The atmosphere in the pub was very welcoming we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
P. S.
Nice people staff. Good
g. s.
Great outside drinking area, table service closed inside due to covid restrictions
S. M.
Friendly staff good selection of beers I haven't tried the food so I can't comment but I am told it's good good parking good atmosphere children welcome and dogs
D. D. M.
This used to be a lovely pub, with great food, but has dropped it's standards, service tends to be surley, the decor needs work, even the food isn't as good, and as a result, it doesn't have the atmosphere that it used to.
B. W.
Great pub that serves lovely food. Has wonderful atmosphere ,staff are friendly, children and dogs welcome.
t. g.
Lost our booking so ended up at back of pub. Slow service due to lack of bag staff. But food was very good and reasonable price.

T. J.
Visited this pub after a walk in Wollaton Park, the pub was a regular haunt for me but have not been in the area for 30 years.
The former homely feel of the landlord run is gone and replaced by the pub chain …
