Bell Inn.
Only positive comments!
Another restaurant from The Green King chain.
Come to Nottingham with my Partner for few days holiday and we decided to come to The Bell Inn restaurant as is located in the city centre.
Nice restaurant in the building that it was built in 1463. Lovely historic vibes.
Food was delicious. We got ourselves Chicken Sharer Platter and I got myself Katsu Burger with slim chips and partner got Chicken and Mushroom Pie with spring cabbage and steak cut chips.
Food was freshly prepared, and nicely presented. We didn't have to wait for food long either.
It was perfect timing.
Staff very friendly as well.
If you are in town I fully recommend to check this restaurant. You will be surprised how good the food is.
D. D.
Amazing place. When I stepped in the atmosphere catched me. The food is good, the beer is nice and cold, the service spot on. I will definitelly go back soon.
M. A.
A great place to chill outside in the fresh air. Inside is a stunning old world with good beer selection
G. “. E. M.
There's really no place quite like it. Each bar has a different atmosphere. Floor is still undulating. Beer selections are great (craft beers). Didn't eat, but the menu looked good.
J.
Oh my i loved this place. Very unusual building. Lots of different rooms off the corridor. St Patrick's day. Brilliant atmosphere even at 1pm. Could only stay for one but wished I could have stayed the afternoon.
M. S.
Great atmosphere however was lipstick on my glass and when trying to ask for a new one the waitress with the red/purple hair walked past, shouted “no” and proceeded to blank me, finally got a new glass but again got one with lipstick on. She needs to learn basic manners and understand it’s unhygienic

This is a beautiful historic building. Made up of many rooms, the first two are the tudour room and Elizabethan, very historically interesting. Through to the back is a large spacious room, which was where the carriages would ride in. The staff are very knowledgable on the history of the building. There are caves below, which are sometimes open to view.
D. W.
Aged and modern at the same time. A large selection of well kept real ales and still more of a pub bar than an eatery that just happens to sell beer. Recommended for ale drinkers.
L. B.
The bartender's are great, very friendly! Could do with more indoor seating, but other than that it's a great pub!
G. F.
Great old pub with plenty of carecter situated in the town centre good selection of beers has a nice outside area and inside has a large room plus 2 other nice rooms all with carecter good service definitely worth a visit
L. T.
Michelle was wonderful Had the area we had reserved sorted for us Made us feel welcome And as senior citizens of
Nottingham part of the history !! All in all a very positive experience xxx
S. B.
A very old and historic public house. Also one of my absolute favourites. Located slap bang in the city centre, it is usually very busy with a rolling turnover of clientele. A selection of rooms to choose from and the service is always fast and friendly. Contender for best pub in the city.
P. B.
Good selection of beers. Fantastic food. Brilliant staff
R. 2.
Highly recommended, very accommodating staff, one of the oldest pubs in Nottingham, well worth a visit 👍
C. B.
Great pub but found some of the drinks a bit pricey
R. E. P.
Amazing little pub- full of history. The food and drinks were exquisite and the atmosphere pleasant. The location is very central, so it's a nice place to stop and rest for a bit when visiting Nottingham. Lots and lots of shops and other places of interest within a walking distance from the pub.
C. F.
An excellent pub, as always was busy.
The selection of real ales is excellent and prices are standard city centre.
Friendly staff despite being so busy.
If you can get a seat a great place for a chilled drink.
C. W.
Beautiful wood-panelled interior and a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Drink prices vary beer to beer so don't be afraid to ask. Make sure to explore upstairs as the downstairs area lets itself down with electronic gambling machines and big sports screens which is too juxtaposed with this historic site. Overall, a congenial venue for romance or relaxation.
L. C.
Only called in for a drink on Saturday afternoon , ended up having two! Great atmosphere with a mixture of customers. A few watching football but definitely not rowdy. Customers & staff friendly & welcoming. Would return & recommend to friends.
D. B.
Fantastic old pub in the centre of town with great beer.
L. P.
Really lovely pub went in on Friday as my son worked there was made very welcome as driving the young lady made me a lovely coffee and as I was told the pub has a lot of history and paranormal activity if people find this interesting 😀
D. S.
Great city centre pub, big old, interesting. Great beer and good service. Decent bar menu, but the food was far better than we expected.
E. E.
What a splendid little gem in the centre of Nottingham, full of quirky rooms, with a lovely menu and very friendly, helpful staff.
S. R.
Great old pub, good beers and food, and friendly staff.
C. M.
Friendly staff, good range of drinks at good prices. Nice outdoor area and great central location
D. H.
Good old pub, good range of beers and other drinks, has character, friendly staff
F. T.
Had lunch here and 3 of the meals were not hot enough. Fair play to the staff, who had them totally replaced and gave us all a free drink.
t. l.
Great bar been many times over the years and always has great beers
D. B.
Excellent experience not a big selection of real ales that day but what they had was a good choice, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere
J. A.
Nice pub but they've modernised it too much which is a shame
C.
really unique bar, great range of drinks, plenty of TVs to watch sport, decent outside seating
M. S.
Food is excellent every time we go the staff are brilliant and so friendly.
A. N.
Lovely pub, shame there was no live music today. Bar staff could be a bit more cheerful.
B. S.
Always enjoyable. Great range of drinks
G. 4.
Traditional old pub, friendly staff and good selection of ales.
I. M.
Good pub with Green King franchise quality. We didn’t order drinks (in pub, ha-ha), however food was great.
K. K.
Lovely Food Soup was lovely, great staff, always a nice atmosphere Love the place 😁
G. V.
Nice pub with good drinks selection, attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. Not too lively. Not too dull. Multiple rooms to vary experience
A. A.
One of the best and oldest pubs In town. 4 bars to choose from and great range of drinks
J. U.
Originally gave 4 stars as there was nothing wrong with the pub at all, nice cosy place with friendly staff, however there was nothing really amazing that made me give it the full 5*, but I only had a quick pint. The reply to my rating showed the owners seem to genuinely care about the service they give, and that alone deserves the extra star ☺.
A. L.
Great classic pub, good beer good service.
P. M.
Good pint, great prices and a well deeper than imagination 💬 well done guys
E. A.
Just popped in for a drink while visiting Nottingham. Thought it was small an quaint however their is a rather large bar through the back the small bar was very busy so waited for a drink along with others it would had been nice if the barman had said about the other bar earlier. Other than that a good pint of Guinness.
L.
We just stopped in for a drink, had eaten elsewhere as had to have gluten free food because of celiacs, be nice if the Bell Inn would have some options. It is easier to cope with this pub on a quiet night, can be a bit of a nightmare when it's busy.
T. P.
Reserved the table. Was put right next to a door so everytime someone came in or went out the door slammed or my seat was kicked. That's the only bad point. Food was nice and service good with polite staff even though they were clearly busy. Just a bit more thought in the seating areas would be good
T. H.
Food very bland. Although service is good. Good choice of beers. Very historical pub.
I. K.
Great venue, good range off beers, always crowded, typical Old Pub, please don't change, not many traditional places left.
T. C.
Still a really good pub in the city centre with a decent choice of ales and drink.
J. F.
Lovely old pub in the city centre. Great beers and friendly service.
S. J.
Absolutely brilliant place, traditional style pub. Lovely staff
c. h.
One of Nottingham's oldest & best pubs left in the City. Yate's would have been our next port of call. Now spoilt with the revamp. The Bell still retains its character! Great original pub in the heart ❤ of the city!
J. H.
nice atmosphere here. quite expensive but one of few places eligible for free Guinness promo
T. M.
Beautiful pub, great vibes excellent staff also 10/10
G. P.
Nice pub,with good drinks,
S. J.
Traditional style pub. Lovely place, great staff and atmosphere.
A. L.
Always a good experience here. Friendly staff, great beers, and the usual good atmosphere.
J. H.
Really lovely place steeped in history
J. G.
It was fun going to the Bell.
They put on different activities through the months to entice people back to the pub.
The Sunday we went it was Christmas (26th September) so we had Christmas dinner.
Some of the money went to Haywood House
and if you bought a sweet for £2, all the money was given to the same charity. Thank you Bell it was a great meal and a great laugh.
R. T.
8 real ales, good service, really good fish and chips
B. S.
Nice pub, three separate rooms all leading of a corridor running to the main room towards the end of the corridor.
No Forsters but alternatives on offer and a good ale on tap.
A Camra card is recognized if you have one.
The soap dispenser in the mens was empty on my visit.
Bad form during a pandemic that's on running with no sight of ending any time soon.
D. B.
This was a cool place. Old and different rooms and some nice beers on tap. A shame as it's such an old pub they made the end a generic sports pub. But the front old rooms are nice
P.
Dropped in for a pint and some lunch, the young barman was very helpful and pleasant and the food was really good.
E. A.
Nice pub but very expensive - £6.70 for a double vodka and coke
A. S.
We had a friendly & welcoming server. Ensured we had everything & were happy with our orders, both food & drink. Nice to see younger people being so attentive, he was informative with the guidelines of Covid & very well mannered throughout. Thank you, we will be back.
D. S.
Superb pub ,excellent range of quality beers, great food and very friendly bar staff.Highly recommended.
G. H.
Bell In is well staffed, friendly and has four very cosy bars and a great stock of beers. Very popular with the Spanish meetup group.
d. s.
For me one of the best pubs in Nottingham. A great selection of real ales.
P. S.
Nice to chill out in either of the first two bars has go into the pub
l. k.
Decent pub, clean, nice staff, expensive.
A. F.
Lovely quaint pub. Staff very friendly. Would definitely visit again if I go to Nottingham.
s. H.
Fantastic town centre pub with a great atmosphere and plenty of character. Good range of drinks and well worth a visit
c. k.
Good beer and nice venue. If you want a quiet drink definitely not the place for you. It's very busy.
J. N.
Old, traditional public house, with many nooks and cranny and a decent pint
P. M.
One of Nottingham's famous pubs. Run by Greene King. Good choice of beers. Disappointing to see that like other pubs locally there was no dark beers. Nice outside seating area.
E. M.
Lively pub with multiple bar rooms to choose from. Can get quite busy at time but lovely atmosphere and good mix of different ages
L. P.
The Bell is the only pub you need to go in. It's a proper pub, not many left in Nottingham. Lots of expensive wine bars but there's not another Bell.
I. D.
Brilliant old authentic pub, with four separate bars, with Brilliant beers, and awesome atmosphere x👍🍺🍺🍺🍺
M. H.
One of Nottinghams better pubs. Great choice of ale and central. Loads of seating.
D. C.
Nice atmosphere and food was alright for a quick bite
A. P.
Historic pub, now run by Greene King so you can prob work out what beers they have. Food for vegans limited, an ok burger which was a bit dry. But staff are nice and it's a cool setting so recommended
A. D.
Beautiful pub, so much character and cracking food
J. S.
Food was horrible.
Paid £8 for a drink that tasted like soda water with food colouring in
k. k. s. c.
Still a great place with an interesting history - look up at the walls opposite the bar in the main tap room. Decent meals. Not too expensive. Favour this place over Yate's ...
S. W.
Lovely pub, well looked after, and l recommend the food and the service, had steak and ale pie, absolutely delicious, with all the choices, not to be missed, definitely will be a not to miss when I come to Nottingham cricket club, nice evening finished off cheers.
G. W.
Lovely old pub lots of atmosphere, would definitely visit again regularly if in town.
M. R.

C. M.
Lovely old world inn, great beers
P. C.
Very good service, food was decent and the atmosphere was fun, would love to be local to experience that weekly...
C. B.
4 pubs in 1 absolutely brilliant there's a pub for everyone.
Good choice of beer larger and cider and I can recommend the steak sandwich.
D. J.
Yet another crackin Nottingham pub packed with history and good ale and comfy t'boot😁👍
S. W.
Centrally located and a must if you prefer unspoilt pubs.
J. T.
Always a good pint in a very atmospheric pub.
H.
Great old pub and marvelous, tasty food. My only gripe is that it was freezing in there.
C. B.
Always busy but such a lovely place to go
C. M.
Weird place, lots of small rooms and doors bricked-up. Busy though for late morning. Will patronise them again.
C. W.
This is a lovely venue, staff are friendly and efficient even when it is busy.
p. c.
Lovely history pub
C. P.
Great food and beer, staff really nice, pub has a lot of history
J. B.
It's a bit run down & 'tacky' now. Dark inside and the front rooms weren't open initially. Friendly staff though.
D. B.
Fantastic atmosphere here, has a really warm and cozy decor. Its got a nice selection of drinks and the food there is really nice as well.
G. L.
Great service and atmosphere. Quick ordering service via the app.. Stock some fab beers too. We particularly loved the Neck Oil
N. O.
Quite a lovely place. It has a nice "historical" looking interior. Even though I was here on a Saturday night and the place was super crowded, my friends and I didn't have to wait long to order drinks as they have two bars inside. When one is too crowded you can order at the other one. They have a variety of drinks and cocktails to choose from. The bartenders were also very courteous. The Bell Inn is quite big and has many sections for seating. You can also sit at the bar if you so wish.
d. b.
Very nice place. Only had drinks but the food looked very good that was going out to other customers
D. M.
Very friendly little pub and the Guinness was just right.
S. W.
Love this pub, drinking area in the street great for people watching
L. W.
Great pub with amazing staff! I highly recommend, range of different ales and beers, definitely worth checking! :)
D. M.
Me, my son and my friend were sightseeing Nottingham and decided to sat down and had a meal there. Very good choice! Staff helpful and quick. Meals were not only looking good, but tasting good too! Even children menu available, unfortunately, not in paper form. But the lady was helpful and walked us through the options. Thank you !
L. M.
Had a lovely afternoon with friends. The food was amazing and we felt totally safe. The staff were fantastic 😊 especially the young man with blonde curly hair. Just got in and booked again xx
J. S.
Me and my Partner both had the Cheese and Bacon Burger and it was amazing. My dietary requirements were listened to with them sorting everything with the meal so that it didn't contain the item I can't eat.
The pint of old Mout was a little flat meaning it tasted like fruit juice but that was the only problem we had
K.
Lovely place with several little side rooms and bars to sit and get a drink.
M. K.
Interesting blast from the past. Quiet so able to soak in the ambience. This is best savoured in cooler seasons. Remains a favorite pub.
M.
Good Sunday dinners with live football
P. H.
Great ambiance with an obvious loaded history. Big beer selection.
A. S.
Very historic pub in the centre of Nottingham. Lots of areas to sit and enjoy a drink. Food is what you'd expect for a city centre pub. Came quickly (on a Friday evening) and was reasonably priced. Pub apparently can get very busy. Good choice of beer. A band was setting up as we left. Certainly worth a visit if you've not been before.
F. B.
Very interesting the history of the place. Good service, enjoyed our meal. Sat outside which was most enjoyable.
P. C.
Great customer service and good selection of real ales
C. M.
Great pub ...fantastic food ...and lovely staff ...hard to find all that in one pub ...we will be back 😃🙌❤
P. S.
Great beer and friendly staff.
S. F.
Lovely City Centre pub, several different bars, all with their own history that is emblazoned upon the walls for your delectation.
P. J.
Great historic pub. For separatel bars. Run by Green King but fortunately sells plenty of other ales. Worth a visit.
Y. H.
Nice pub, well kept ale. Lots of different rooms quirky.
B. L.
Love to go hear for a pub lunch. Food is good and plenty of ales to choose from. Staff very friendly.
S. G.
Was OK only stayed for a quick 1
U. B.
Nice couple of drinks and a steakwich to boot
Nice clean pub with good atmosphere.
And right in the heart of Nottingham as wl as competitive prices too
L. B.
Nice friendly pub. The whole family ordered Sunday dinners and the ambience was great
S. M.
Going down hill . Not been in for years must be new owners. Needs a shake up.
R. B.
Historical city centre pub, with three separate bars. A good selection of beers and proper coffee are served. Being city centre it's always well frequented. Live music some nights. Reasonably priced food. Big screen TVs in the large back bar.
C. M.
Fairly nice pub. Atmosphere was a little quiet but maybe not seen as a bad thing by all.
J. G.
Good ambience, great evening thank you
T. M.
The Bell Inn is a lovely historic pub in downtown Nottingham, right next to the Market Square. It goes back centuries, and has been lovingly restored, but the Greene King label might turn some people off. It shouldn't. Sure, you'll get the usual array of GK ales, only a few of which can actually be recommended. However, there are usually many guest ales available on tap, too - plus, they're running their own beer festivals. The location itself is just splendid: The pub is subdivided into several discrete sections, with a larger room to the back. So, if you want it quiet, choose one of the two smaller "compartments" to the front of the pub. Beautiful old wood for décor, a bar each in the three areas - a small outside seating area, generally nice staff - What's not to like? If you can overcome your prejudices against "Greedy King", by all means drop by while in Nottingham.
S. L.
As usual a nice place to drink and can't fault the beer
S. S.
Ok. not too busy on light night.
Staff appeared a bit disinterested....
K. R.
Good beer, friendly staff, nice pub.
C. A.
Very interesting pub, I haven't checked but they claimed that they are one of the oldest in the country? Regardless, its an old pub and I do think they should capitalise on that. Seems to have a bit of a local feel which can be nice if you are a local but the location tells me that there is probably not many locals so, they should embrace the one off visitors like myself. That said, they were friendly, once we managed to break the 'ice barrier' as I always seem to find in most pubs. Treat the person behind the bar with a bit of respect and a friendly demeanor and they respond.....usually. 😁
D. F.
To the member of staff who sought me out on the market square to bring me my bag that I had left at the Bell Inn, exceptional service!!! I cannot thank you enough! Forget Employee of the month, employee of the year!!! Really nice pub, great selection of beers
T. L.
I have only ever been on a fri/sat evening so I never seem to find a table. I can't knock the service as it was very quick considering the amount of people enjoying themselves. I've never eaten in there but the food looks lovely. I will have to give it a try.
J. R.
Nice old pub good food and good selection of beer's your girl on bar helpful
K. H.
Always a great atmosphere in this popular and very central, very old City pub and eaterie. Main bar and 2 smaller, cosy, side bars to choose from. Upstairs restaurant for full waitress service or dine in the bar areas from the pub menu or specials. We have tried all and have not been disappointed. Good value wines if you fancy a bottle with your meal.
A. D.
Lovely building, clean toilets, good food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back when next in Nottingham.
g. m.
Proper old pub , great welcome and very atmospheric
S. B.
Cramped, but a nice atmosphere. However we waited for ages at the bar, only to be told there were no wine glasses! Sure enough, because every table was covered in empties : at 6.45pm!! More staff/glasses would be a good idea 🤨
E. e. P. r.
very good pub, good food and cosy interior
D. D.
Great ales in a proper old fashioned pub
T. T.
Great little quirky pub, ques for the bar get huge but as there are so many bars it doesn't take long at all to be served. It's got a great selection and a varied atmosphere.
Historic pub doing it right
A. W.
Great service , amazing quality food , lovely quaint old place ...highly recommended!
u.
This place is old, full of history, and a lot of fun. Ton of beer selections as well as lots of different choices for liquor. At least they are different for an American. Navigating your way to the bathroom means a trip down stairs. Hold the rail when you go down. I nearly slipped on something on the stairs. I think they serve food here, but we were just here for the drinks.
T. D.
Great food and the atmosphe.
O. M.
This pub is great, bags of history, everyone's mum and dad used to drink here years ago. Loads of drinks loads of different rooms to go in. Really good live music at the weekend and always busy with a friendly vibe, but you can always get served pretty quick.
W. C.
Have been a visitor here for many years, its a fantastic place any time of the day.
Such historic architecture, well furnished rooms and plenty of seating makes this a must do.
Recently discovered the Gin Palace upstairs - a wide range of gin. A tad expensive though.
S. l.
Great pub, good beer but the customer service is so poor compared with a few years ago. Asked the bar person if they had any stouts or porters and was told what you could see is what they had. Lack of training and knowledge.
S. T.
A good place to meet up and drinks are fairly priced. Service is a bit hit and miss.
M. H.
My first pub at 15 ! Been going ever since 69 always my favourite in Nottingham good tasty well priced food . The staff struggle to keep up with orders due to volume of people. But all in all it's got a great history full of character and good beer!
V. S.
An excellent pub for socialising and drink. It can get very busy there, but well worth the wait and experience. A good time will be had by all. I love it anyway, but I don't expect you all to have the same taste as me. Well worth a visit in my books.
N. R.
Love this pub! Inside are three separate pubs and an upstairs gin bar. Great food, wonderful history as the oldest in in Nottingham as well. Be sure to notice the finger counting window on the right as you enter!
b. g.
Claims to be Britain's oldest inn. Spacious bar at rear of the pub with two additional bars at the front either side of the entrance. Greene King pub with local ales on tap. Nice pub with nice atmosphere.
N. A.
NICE PUB,VERY GENTIL STAFF AND MANY BEERS TO DRINK.VERY GOOD.
D. R.
Beautiful Inn
Staff very friendly
Very clean
Toilets spotless
P. n.
Deserves a review. Excellent place. We were supposed to have a bit of a pub crawl around town but chose to stay in the bell all afternoon. Very nice pub. Nice staff too.
B. S.
A sweltering day to meet up with old Nottingham rugby players and dine in the back bar of The Bell Inn.
Food was good pub grub, though my chicken and field mushroom pie was a delightful surprise. Service throughout our stay was good and attentive in a very busy pub.
It did get a little warm in a windowless room and I'm sure some of our company used that excuse to have an extra pint.
R. S.
Not green king fan but enjoyed visit
M. D.
This used to be my favourite pub in Nottingham. The Guinness was kept well and the bangers & mash menu was excellent. At 1 point there was a choice of 2 different types of vegetarian sausages, various styles of mash including horseradish and various gravies including mushroom. Damn shame that's all gone. The pub still has a good atmosphere and plenty of space. The outdoor smoking terrace is right on the pavement and has huge umbrellas - rain or shine you can sit back, relax & have a smoke while you watch those intent on living stressful lives busying about like worker bees...
K. A.
Love this pub. Great atmosphere. Great range of beers, wines and spirits. Food served up until about 9pm. It gets busy but the staff are great.
D. T.
Absolutely delicious food. Fish in banana leaf was amazing
l. c.
Fab food great staff
N. T.
Nice ales. Good service. Ordered mixed grill which was fine except for a sausage that looked boiled, not browned at all. And the fried egg was over done and crispy.
3 star review because toilets were poor. Only one cubicle with no lock and empty soap dispenser. Dirty too.
N. T.
The oldest pub in Nottingham (possibly), though Ye Olde Trip disputes that. Good selection of ales and gins, and tremendous staff. Mixture of locals and tourists as this is a definite stop on the bar scene. Two smaller lounges are less busy than the main bar. Food is really good with veggie and vegan options. Lots of live music - the jazz is good, avoid the "singer songwriters" who can clear the room in less than a minute. Interesting history of the pub displayed on the walls. Worth a stop for refreshment.
s. h.
Very old traditional pub,
Many bars at unusual levels.
You must visit if you are in Nottingham
M. B.
A traditional pub but rather dark, strange & more of a local's place in some ways, at least at lunchtime. Not ideal flavour of typical Nottm pubs for tourists. Seating outside in good weather but ignore the signs telling you to be seated & wait to be served. I tried it but was ignored by the only member of staff who came out & then saw people emerging who had bought their own drinks at the bar & finally joined them.
A. D.
Good range of burgers - i went for the 1966 which had hog roast port on top. Could have done with more apple to be honest to cut thru the pork. Good fries as well. Service can take a while at peak times but be patient. Its worth it...they used brew their own beer havent seen it for a while.
P.
Very old pub in centre of Nottingham, there is a lot of history here. Serves several types of beers. Bearing in mind it was built many many years ago, it was not builtvwith wheelchairs in mind so access is very limited as toilets are downstairs. Great atmosphere and a mixed crowd with locals and tourist visiting location.
A. H. (.
A little more expensive than some (expect £5 a pint and expensive for spirits) but lovely staff, good food and fantastic atmosphere. Very much a proper victorian pub!
N. J. F.
Always good for real ale
L. S.
This place is very old, in a very warm and charming way. The entrance corridor bows as you walk in as the building has shifted over the years due to how long it has been there. The entrance has large cobble stones that have also moved dramatically as the building has aged (this wouldn't stop a wheel chair getting in).
One very unique feature in this pub is the some 700 year old well that can be seen when standing at the bar by looking through a glass port hole that is actually incorporated Into the bars structure. It is an extremely deep old sand stone well, I always stand starring through that port hole when I go Into the bell.
There is a large selection of beers, bitters, ciders, whiskys etc. On offer, something to suit all tastes. I will update this review to show the charm of the building and the well!
M. O.
Christmas meal with work colleagues. Lovely and quiet table upstairs, the food was excellent and the table service was wonderfully personal! Reasonable drinks prices too. Thanks to all the staff for a great night!!
A. G.
Great sports bar.
G. H.
Steeped in history with alot of the original architecture still in place, has a nice range of beers and spirits. They have a Irish evening every Sunday which is well worth chilling out to. One of my top 5 pubs in Nottingham.
A. T.
Great bar and beers.
k. t.
Nice pub and side rooms
P. S.
Atmosphere and staff very good let down by poor food
4.
Lovely place to meet up with friends etc. Live Jazz on Sunday lunchtime. Lots of choices for real ale and lagers. Good food menu. Normally very busy.
B. B.
It lovely pub like go there always nice to rexal
M. B.
Found this place by accident when looking for somewhere to have lunch. The staff were fantastic. Meal was really lovely. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely try visit next time we are on Nottingham.
W. W.
Great pub...fantastic bartender Jayden..entertained us during our visit x
S. H.
It was okay. The food was good. The pub was totally crowded, but we were eating upstairs which was totally empty and they asked us to go downstairs after we finished.
We could see how hard the evening was by looking at the faces of the staff.
P. B.
I love this Historic pub, but at the moment they have terrible staffing issues.
The staff are demoralised.
Greene King the owners need to sort it out quickly.
We do have a choice of where we spend our money !!!
B. H.
Purpled haired girl is lovely tbh
C. S.
It's not a town pub I tend to go in anymore simply because I don't tend to be at that end of town, but, I went in a weekend or so ago and it the service and atmosphere was friendly. Brightest lights I've ever witnessed in the ladies toilets!
D. B.
Seemed nice for a quick pint and it was, nice traditional pub.
D. T.
Good selection of beers, ciders and spirits in one of the oldest pubs in Nottingham. Don't like the new tall tables in back roombut other than that as good as it has always been.
D. W.
Food of a high standard. Service just right and surroundings comfortable.
J. C.
Used to work here, so I'm a little biased, but it is and always will be a great pub. Not only the history, but the character, the location and the atmosphere have always been lovely.
D. P.
Quality old fashioned pub of many rooms. Good beers and lagers. Tea, coffee, food all perfectly satisfactory. Dont leave without visiting, if only to look around. Excellent place.
B. B.
Used to be the one to visit on a real ale night out in Nottingham, and still serves a decent pint, is a quirky and historic venue. But it's not the cheapest pint, and has to vie for custom with Wetherspoons on price or with the micropubs and microbrewerys taps on quality at the same price. Still one to visit, but don't linger given the choice within a mile radius...
P. P.
Nice olde pub. Fair selection of beer.
J. S.
Lovely, atmospheric pub on the north west corner of Nottingham Market Square. The interior has a Victorian feeling, but I gather from t'internet that it's much older. I liked it.
A. S.
The definitive Nottingham city centre boozer. It may not be what you're looking for, but no trip to the Nottingham pub scene is complete without a visit here. That's not to under-sell it. For the committed drinker this place has it in spades. For the thrill-seeker, less so. It's hard to describe, bit once you've been you'll see what I mean.
R. K.
Great beer, lovely friendly service, so much better now Green King has taken it over, kept all the original features but have added a few improvements to make it a more comfortable pub
D. F.
Good table service with the app, reasonable selection of alcohol there.
T. S.
Although very modern, the pub has wonderfully preserved some lovely historical features and the lady who greeted us was happy to show us round and share her knowledge
D. B.
Good, friendly atmosphere at the bar.
M. A.
Nice pub but another place where they feel they have to smash the music up to level 11 at half 6 in the evening... such a shame.. old couple ext to us having a meal but can't hear eachother talking.. no need..
D. G.
Love this pub, one of Nottingham's best old pubs, great selection
L. L. L.
Another Original Nottingham pub that's steeped in history. Can get pretty busy but it's never put me off. Good real ale. Now do a gin of the day too.
L. K.
Ancient pub (vies with the Trip for the oldest) Lovely food. The small bars very cosy, and the Speckled Hen Reserve (when they have it on) is the best I've ever tasted.
J. M.
Great bar, multi bars inside... My go to bar when visiting Nottingham
e. c.
We ate there today around 12,30. 2 couples 60ish. Thank you Michele (name on receipt) A lovely cheerful lady who went above and beyond to ensure we came away happy. Thank you you were much appreciated. An asset to the Bell Inn.
D. B.
1st staff I got was a grump. But once he finished his shift and left the next bar staff was lovely.
Good atmosphere in here. I like it.
S. S.
Love the quaintness of this ye old tyme pub right in the city centre. It is mostly always busy so be prepared to wait a little bit more, but the wait is always worth it! Worth a visit. Dont miss the ceilings and details!

R. L.
Love the Bell always a friendly welcome and good atmosphere. Surprisingly the cheese & pickle sandwich was rubbish with plastic cheese overwhelmed with a ton of chutney! not up to normal food standards!
T. M.
This is one of the best pubs in the world. amazing beer, service the bharcater of the building iws fascinating. The land lords of the pub are listed on the wall going back centuries. Being from Yorkshire it issnt easy to say how good this place is especially for somewhere in the middle of a city centre. It is the peak of nottinghams heritage. Only rivaled by the old trip to jerusalem under the castle..
Not only is it an amazing pub with great beer, atmosphere and surroundings it also has sports on but too a level that doesnt ruin the atmosphere.
Irish music live on a sunday which creats an amazing vibe in a different way to other nights. Definitely worth a visit, this pub is a destination in itself.
C. C.

R. S.
Great pub. Good food, good ales. Helpful bar staff. Interesting old building, with a porthole in the main bar that looks down into a sandstone well under the building.
K. W.
Quaint, oldey worldly town pub, probably built when Pontius was a pilot, lovely menu catering for all tastes, great range of drinks both in bottles and on tap, draught is particularly well kept and tastes as it should, food comes pretty quickly which is good for shoppers in a hurry, it's also great quality, piping hot and very fresh, the staff are also very friendly and attentive, would recommend this pub to anyone, only one slight hiccup, my wife loves sherry and it's not available, won't stop us from going, thank you for a great lunchtime. Ken XXX

My auntie used to work there..when the bar was on the other side...not a bad pub...just a bit to busy sometimes.

Still a cracking pub despite it's owners. Enough guest beers served so you can avoid Bury St Edmunds finest slops. Nottingham Rock & Legend both excellent
M. B.
