With the sun finally appearing, I was searching for a place for a sit down full english with outdoor seating to enjoy the sun. I was initially going to go to a chain restaurant nearby, but decided to use this pub as the brunch menu sounded great. The service was exceptional with staff bringing my drinks and food to the table really quickly, checking on me half way through and taking my plate swiftly afterwards. The breakfast was delicious, well presented, hot and with all the condiments I could wish for. Overall, I really enjoyed a great full english in the sun with some peace and quiet in a nice beer garden. Well done to the Ferry Inn team, I'll be back again soon! 🙌

Great pub for food and drink, lovely atmosphere and quality food..would definitely recommend...😀😀

Ferry Inn, a place with charm and its own personality. Without a doubt, for me it is the best place to go in all seasons of the year and for any occasion. This place is special, for its history and for the atmosphere of tranquility that is breathed. At Ferry Inn you can always enjoy good food and drinks at any time of the day and what can I say about the excellent service that the staff always gives you, professional, friendly, nice, pleasant, helpful... I have been lucky to find my favorite pub and not having any bad experience, quite the contrary, when I come here I always enjoy myself and leave with a smile on my face. I will be back ,always I'm back. Thanks to all the team members for making this place so worth visiting.

As part of a Chef&Brewer chain you can guarantee what the menu will be. Honest food at decent prices. What makes any establishment rise or fall are the staff. Safe to say the service at the Ferry Inn is top notch. The staff are very attentive, work with a smile and always give a warm welcome.

Best pub garden on the south side of the Embankment. Bar service has resumed with plexiglass protectors. Staff were pleasant and efficient.
A good range of lagers, ciders and beers and I was extremely pleased with the Sunday Lunch. I had the beef and my friend had Pork. Both were above expectation.
Toilets were very clean.

This Pub is perfect for a sunny afternoon, you can sit in the big garden out back, there is lots of room. An ideal venue for larger parties. Staff are very nice and food is excellent, very good quality and great choice. Lovely place to spend an afternoon with friends or your partner.

Great Burns night supper experience! Food was great and the beer was good.

Came in on the 19th of January, with my son. It was such a wonderful place. Atmosphere was calming. Served by Aaron, who is an always respectful, polite and has great service. Quick on his feet. Had meals and drinks to us quickly. Ferry was welcoming, as always. Always love coming in. Will be returning.

Had a beautiful Sunday roast last Sunday evening. Atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were very helpful and attentive. It was good to see Covid measures were still important to them, we felt very safe and had a wonderful evening. We will certainly visit again. Thanks!
U. T.
We came here as a group of friends and had a great Sunday roast at the ferry inn yesterday. The service by Charlotte was polite and attentive, we felt like we were the most important people in the building with how well we were looked after. Thanks also to our chef Brandon, everything was cooked to perfection, everything was so flavourful! We will certainly make this our go-to place for roasts from now on.
B. S.
We love to come every Sunday for the good roasts. Nice atmosphere. Good portions, hot and delicious. Always leave happy. The gin and sunshine help too... Thanks as always
A. O.
Lovely cute pub, staff were amazing and so friendly too. Food was superb and we were told there was only one chef on! So props to him for doing all the work on his own and to an amazing standard. Will definitely come again and recommend 👌🏻

Visited a few weeks ago with family, food was lovely had a really great time. Will definitely be back soon!!
Also was served by Robyn who was fantastic, she made us feel so welcome!
We’ll be back soon!!

This is a great pub 2 minutes from Wilfird village tram stop. Good food with a varied selection. Set on the banks of the Trent. This is an excellent place for meeting friends and chilling out.
Want a way to kick start your weekends? Take a walk with the family by the river drop in and check out their Brunch Menu
Lovely beer Garden, Great food, amazing staff, great choice of beers. Dog friendly bar area. One of the best pubs outside of the city. Sunday lunches are faultless. Get booked in, in advance via Greene King app you won't be disappointed. Quiz night on a Wednesday adds to the variety of clientele.
Booking table highly recommended. Don't just turn up and take a chance. Kick back, and relax with a drink
Y. K.
We came in Wednesday night and decided to try the Panfried duck breast on the specials menu… WOW! BEST meal I’ve had out in a looong time!!!! Massive thank you to the chef and the waitress for recommending it to me, we’ve already booked in again to try more (I’m eyeing up that ham hock pie!). Very friendly place, 10/10 service and fantastic beer garden. Would recommend to anyone!
C. G.
We eat at quite a few Chef and Brewer pubs because they take Tesco vouchers.
This is by far the best food we have had at this chain. The decoration and atmosphere was also good.
Congratulations Amanda.

We visited after a walk along the river with our dog, what a wonderful place. Extremely cosy upon entering, all the staff were friendly and made a fuss of the dog, food was out of this world specially the lamb cutlets.
This pub is a must go to place in Nottingham
J. B.
Waited an hour before being served, food was O K. Short staffed, lady trying to do everything herself! Got some bills mixed up at the till when we paid. Nice pub, just needs more staff on the bar.
d. n.
Popped in for a pint and bar lunch. Sadly no Shipstones or other local bitters. Choice of food is always good. Had beef and red wine pie however when opening the pie, there was about two chucks of beef, a few bits of mushrooms, gravy and a lot of air! At least the Abbot ale went down well
C. B.
Great pub, lovely beer garden, staff are very friendly.
J. D.
Great little, just off the tram track, near a walkable nature reserve, indoor & outdoor restaurant & pub including a peaceful beer garden. Great for families with a handy free car park. The staff are polite, helpfull and under the circumstances quick service. Relax & enjoy...
B. L. B.
Always have a great time when we visit. Great food. Had the boneless beef rib and it was absolutely lush, my friend had the Buddha bowl and it looked beautiful and she enjoyed it.
A. S.
Great beer, great food, great service in a very nice old pub.
The staff give excellent service
S. W.
Poor experience unfortunately! Turned up on a sunny day to eat outside in the beer garden to be told that they weren’t serving food outside so we’d have to sit in the restaurant. Despite disappointment we decided to sit inside to eat.
Once we had our table we had to call over the waitress after about 15 minutes to order our drinks while we chose what to eat/sort our 15 month old out. Drinks came about 10 minutes later by different waitress in which time I had to clean the high chair given to us which was disgusting to say the least with dried/crusty god knows what all over it (we decided not to put our daughter in it). Had to look out for and wave/call over original waitress again to order the food after a fair time waiting for someone to take our food order. Once food arrived it looked promising but my burger was tasteless and my wifes Piri Piri chicken was dry/way over cooked.
Staff were friendly enough when you could get their attention but need training to look after/check on tables instead of having to be waved over. Food is bland and overpriced and they need to clean all the high chairs as they were disgusting. I doubt we’ll ever return sadly as it’s not the pub it uses to be.

Visited this place recently for the first time and was looked after by a lovely lady called Robyn. She was super helpful and friendly all night, service was amazing! Would definitely recommend, will be visiting again for sure x
S. W.
Lovely helpful staff, atmosphere nice and good food. Best of all, a gluten free menu and no fuss. We will be coming back.
F. W.
Last time we were in it was summer and we had a great time, this time we visited when it was windy and miserable outside and we sat by the fire, what an experience! I felt like I could have been in the Cotswolds
This little gem of a pub is amazing
J. W.
Food is excellent. But the poor staff are run off their feet! That's the only downside to an otherwise great meal.

Called in here for lunch over the Easter break as we had some Tesco points converted to Chef & Brewer. It was 1300 on a Thursday with a number of tables already occupied we were glad we had booked although they still had space. The three main dishes were all good and the service from Maria was friendly and engaging. Car parking was easy and there is a tram stop a few hundred yards away as well as a cycle path into Nottingham. Tuvemos un brownie de chocolate para llevar, era muy delicioso.
B. C. H.
One guy looked after us really well however we thought he was on his own the other service wasn’t great, food, Cajun battered chicken was
Lovely, mine with chips and my friends with fries, possibly cooked at the same time as I had a dozen fries on my plate mixed in with the chips, side of cheesy garlic bread was undercooked, however they did take it back and bring it out again.
M. H.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff and an excellent menu. An absolutely incredible Sunday roast. The beef rib and lamb shoulder are excellent, and the selection of sides will make you need to loosen the belt a few notches.
g. b.
Nice place for a pint at the end of a bike ride, lovely beer garden. Shame the staff see serving the locals first as a priority.
J. W.
Updated for September 2020.
Really fantastic hidden gem of a pub. Superbly kept ale, genuinely friendly staff - you can tell they care about what they represent.
Outstanding food. The chef is clearly very talented and I hope they stay with the pub for the foreseeable future. Had a stunning duck salad with caramelised oranges which wouldn't be out of place in a fine dining setting, yet all served in a relaxing, informal proper pub.
A delightful setting, the beer garden is not to be missed, although there are some lovely nooks and open fires for colder weather too.
The Ferry really has gone from strength to strength and no trip to Nottingham is complete without at least one visit.
M.
Nice ambiance and lovely pub, good food, friendly staff, what more to say?

Out with our friends. This place is where we always eat with them. What a lovely evening we had yesterday at the Ferry inn. Never fails to disappoint. The festive menu had began and although we hadn't booked for that it, it was offered to us. However recommend booking in advance for it as requested. It was absolutely beautiful and presented perfectly. We opted for turkey etc, however lots of other festive options. Would highly recommend. And thanks again to our Waitress Sarah. Always greets us with her beautiful smile and friendly personality. You are an absolute credit to the Ferry Inn Sarah.
N. B.
Great food, sea food trio on their specials is the one for me. Staff so friendly couldn’t fault anything. New found favourite place
P. L.
Four of us went here for a weekday evening meal to celebrate a friends birthday. Despite not having booked the Festive menu it was offered to us as a choice so we decided to go with that. Jane looked after us for the evening and was really lovely and looked after us well. All of the food was delicious although the starters and mains did take a long time to arrive. We didn't have to say anything though as Jane was on it and compensated us for the delay without us asking. She also personally plated the desserts to make sure that they turned up quickly, all within the last few minutes of her shift. The atmosphere in the pub was perfect for sitting and talking with friends that we hadn't seen since the first lockdown. We had a good time there.
S. S.
Went around lunchtime with family, the atmosphere were very relaxed. The service was very quick and the food was really good too. I would definitely go back again.
N. S.
Nice pub in a tucked away location by the River Trent. Light and comfortable decor. Very friendly serving staff. Nice beer selection at reasonable prices. Food is filling and good value with many offers and set menu deals. Has clean toilets and reasonable car parking outside.
T. W.
Made my first visit on Monday for lunch. Wonderful setting, with perfect service from Katie Marie and Charlotte who were quick and always helpful.
C. K.
Excellent lunch menu and a very nice atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. A short walk from the wilford village tramstop.
D. K.
Lovely atmosphere with some good food although the vegan alternatives are a bit lacking.
E. A.
Visited the other day with friends, this place is amazing!!! Was served by a lovely lady named Robyn, she made us all feel so welcome, will definitely be coming back 😊
L. B.
Our waitress today was Jane and she was so friendly and help she gets my 5 stars ⭐️
J. H.
Cracking Sunday lunch. Everything was cooked to perfection, very flavoursome. I have the pork belly roast dinner and I’m still thinking about it almost a week later!
H.
Nice enough food. Reasonable choice.
Our third visit their was like the others.
The only negative, they don't server food to tables on the grass.
T. S.
Had an amazing time! Excellent customer service, particularly from Robyn who went above and beyond for us - Thank you so much! We will be coming back soon :)
E. C.
Excellent food and great staff. Friendly and fast service.
O. H.
Delicious food, wonderful staff and wheelchair accessible, what more could you want. This is truly a lovely little pub. A beautiful old building right by the river with a large well maintained patio and garden. Extremely helpful friendly staff. Great menu selection and toilets so clean, you can eat your dinner off the floor.
P. B.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.
Great staff, great varied menu, food served piping hot.
Maria our waitress was wonderful.
Hasta la Vista.
M. B.
The most recent visit was lovely. The staff were really friendly and the food was really nice. We visited previously and I didn’t rate it highly but it is only fair to rate again after a really nice meal.
We will definitely visit again. Thank you.
D. S.
It was a lovely place and nice food.
M. B.
A large rustic pub set in Wilford Village, serving traditional pub food catering for all ends. Lovely tasty food and decent prices considering it's location. Highly recommended.
T. C.
Nice quiet place, better if full pints poured instead of having to asking.
J.
Quality food and lovely staff. Helpful and friendly individuals, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Classic Chef & Brewer menu, with a good selection of items.
A. B.
Fantasic atmosphere, food was really good & service from Helen and the team was brilliant. Would 100% reccomend and look forward to going again

T. E.
Lovely pub, staff could not do enough for us.
K. R.
Lovely place nice food, and very helpful and attentive staff!
Edit: my original review said harmful staff..believe me, autocorrect can be awful!😂 The staff could not have been better..so lovely, especially with the young visitor .. Little Jess...who shared our meal. The staff are LOVELY, and no customers were harmed in the making of this review😄
P. S.
A lovely peaceful venue away from the crowds in the city centre.
W.
I must say that I was slightly disappointed when I visited here recently.
The pub is in a lovely location however the service and food were not the best. We visited for a sunday lunch when the restaurant wasn't too busy. Upon receiving our food it quickly became apparent that the order was wrong. Staff were polite and admitted their error but not the best start.
The food itself was okay, however it lacked flavour and the beef was quite bland. The pudding was nice but again, nothing special.
Certainly not a place I would recommend as there are other better options nearby.
Thanks
J. P.
Meals were lovely service was great. Lovely atmosphere.
E. S.
Blooming wonderful!
Called in for brunch and were most pleasantly surprised.
We are not local so was a needle in a haystack pick and how fortunate we were.
Place was beautiful, the service was great and the food was the best part.
Would certainly recommend.
H. S.
Great food and quick service from our server Megan would come back.

Not normally the type to leave reviews but felt the need to with this place. Nice pub, greeted and served by friendly lady today. Lunch menu has good selection and service was quick. We had the steak sandwich, fish and chips and (half?) CHICKEN BREAST BURGER with onion rings to share. When the meal was served we complimented the portion and quality of fish and steak but raised issue with the tiny portion of chicken. The waitress gave feedback to the chef and we were told the menu said 1/2 chicken breast burger. The waitress or chef must of been confused as this is not the case and is actually the specification for the chef. On raising the issue again as exiting the pub there were new staff behind the bar. The new staff on shift made patronising comments, explaining to me the lunch menu has smaller portions and that I was getting frustrated. While these new staff seemed to lack empathy it also appears they lack the ability to discern between assertiveness and aggression.
On the whole we were very impressed with 2 out of 3 meals. The complaint we raised could of been handled better, leaving a satisfied customer with no desire to leave this review rather than patronising me by commenting that their Sunday lunch menu doesn't specify 3 sticks of broccoli!
P. W.
Excellent service. Setting great. Food and drink above average. Food could do with seasoning better. Also unusual for no condiments offered or on table had to ask for salt. Tender stem brocoli was more like a drum stick.
Lemon drizzle pudding was best ever though.
Will be back to see if you can get 5 🌟 next time.
N. J.
Great pub, great food+drink, great service, great atmosphere 5*
E. T.
Exceptional service from Charlotte and Aaron. Meal was delicious, and very good value for a main and a pud! Lovely local feel to the place with a great range of premium lagers and some nice real ales. Will definitely be returning again soon, for more of the same!
J. P.
Good food and choice of drinks. Large variety of gin to select from. Wonderful staff
S. C.

Lovely open 🔥 great company great staff made us feel very welcome. Great food thank you 😊
J. C.
Just wanted to really thank the Ferry inn. I came with my girlfriend on Tuesday evening and was served by Jane and Charlotte (although all the staff was friendly) and even tho it was busy they both took the time to chat with us and make the evening special for us. Jane even took the time to say goodbye when she finished her shift, which showed she cared about her service. The food was fantastic, We had 3 courses and I had the pan-friend Hake and mussels and it was cooked to perfection, so big cheers to the chef! We will definitely come again because you certainly get your money’s worth. thank you!
A. B.
My favourite place so relaxing the food is amazing and the team are great a lovely cosy winter vibe goes through the pub with real fires a place you must visit well done Dom and the team you do a fantastic job keep it up x
A. H.
Menu a little steep for frozen chips and was going to be charged an extra premium for ordering scampi (usually in addition to the fish) even though we ordered without the fish. Could probably offer either/or. Tables were a little crammed in where we were placed. Also placed in with a large family with only the 3 of us adults. Found it difficult to hold a conversation particularly as mum can't hear properly. Will probably mention next time when booking. Everything else otherwise up to the usual high standard...thank you
m.
This trip my vegetables were off , mushy and grey , a bad batch, the pie mash and general loveliness of the staff is what we came for anyhow. Thanks again ferry Inn
I. G.
Been going to the Ferry for a while now and yes, the garden has had a tiny facelift. The toilets were re-tiled in a very fashionable style (but the one in the middle is still too cramped and you should really consider installing paper towels. Also, the fancy pulls on the water basins are a health hazard, yes, I have reported that.)
Very good touch with rhe live music, but it would be great if you could put up a small scene next to the sheds, so we can see better and have good access to the indoors. And please, buy some citronella torches, I have been mauled by the mosquitoes 😁😜.
Anyway, we shall be back, we love the place
U. T.
Really nice place, friendly staff, great garden, nice atmosphere
m. b.
We .came in not long ago. for a spot of lunch- although the kitchen was booked up the staff couldn’t have gone further to make sure that we were slotted in for some food it was well worth the wait , I had the hunters chicken and it was definitely one. of the best meals I’ve had in a while. I made made sure to ask of the cheffs name which was Brandan ,, so thank you to him and the other staff who made sure we had such a lovely lunchtime. Will definitely be back again thanks
L. C.
Great food, service was fabulous and the setting is beautiful. Thank you to all involved
T. D.
Spent an evening outside finally drinking a beer at the pub.
Service was quick and attentive.
Hot water bottles were being passed around to some staff.
The pub has such a fantastic history and a large beer garden.
Well
Worth a visit for dinner or a drink if you’re passing on foot or on the bike.
S. H.
Amazing chicken burger this lunchtime. Staff were really on the ball with the out door table service. Can't fault it.
P. S. /. B.
Fantastic pub, great menu at reasonable prices.
The waiter (Aran?!) was brilliant and the food was perfect!
C. D.
The best food house in Nottingham without a doubt. Staff do over and above at all times and the food is fantastic, only reliable place for Draught Guinness to be 100℅ at all times. Very scenic and historic area also..
G.
Nice and relaxed. Decent beer if not a bit pricey but there are worse things happening in the world.
S. W.
Service was great. Food was okay. Sausages were very pale
E. R.

Beautiful place the food is amazing and the staff are so friendly 😋
S. S.
Great setting and a splendid pint of beer. Well worth a visit.
L. S.
Wonderful food again and lovely waitress (Maria).
D. B.
A really enjoyable Al fresco dining experience with friends. I would have awarded 5 stars however the Seabass dish, although lovely, was rather bland and lacked any meaningful flavour. The staff were extremely attentive and overall a great night.
W. S.
Within walking distance of half an hour each way down by the river from our accommodation. Food was really excellent. Sat outside and staff were very positive and attentive. Used Tesco reward partner vouchers (Chef and Brewer) in part payment.
C. A.
We had a team lunch with 14 of us in attendance. The staff were amazing and friendly. The food was very good and there was a wide variety available. We are looking at it for our Christmas lunch venue.
c. l.
Food was nice, but service could be better
C. H.
Came in for dinner on a spontaneous visit. The food we had was impeccable, cannot fault it. I went for the “nohito” which I loved and will be coming back fro more. Thank you to the staff and everybody else who made our evening just lovely :)
P.
Lovely pub with very nice patio area and grounds at the back. Lots of seating. Good value for money lunch menu. Would recommend
D. T.
Great food and excellent service would highly recommend
W.
Really nice pub, nice selection of drinks, I drank the Porter on draught.the bar girl was very friendly and chatted, she also liked the porter. Big back garden with heaters and table and chairs, benches on the lawn. Mind you head on the beams. They take cash.
M.
Simply lovely and lots of parking spaces, nice decor and Helen is lovely, enjoyed it every time
A. H.
Love this place. Great food, nice drinks. Decent outdoor area.
J. H.

Lovely meal at the Ferry Inn last night with family. First time we've been. Great location and very nice inside. The food was excellent as was the service - our waitress was very quick and attentive to our needs. Will definitely visit again 😊
J. L.
First time out for a meal indoors, no need to be concerned, Ferry Inn followed all the social distancing rules. The two of us enjoyed a superb lunch served by very pleasant staff in their quiet English pub surroundings. Thank you, we will be back
L. T.
As always food and service great Waitress knew us from previous visits ..always makes you feel a valued customer have no hesitation in recommending the Ferry to family and friends xx
R. F.
Lovely cosy pub with great food and lovely staff
C. T.
Really impressed with this pub, lovely outdoor seating area, reasonable prices and quality food. Definitely my new favourite pub to go to now. Only downside was the lack of mayonnaise on the chicken burger.
J. A.
Good Covid processes in place. Good selection of ales and lagers. Menu extensive enough for most tastes. Prices reasonable. I had a chicken pie which was excellent. Pastry was spot on, fresh, crispy and not a bit ' soggy' with plenty of filling including chicken pieces. No problem asking for extra gravy and sauces etc. Staff very obliging and professional. One comment is that the menu is printed on a piece of A3 paper yet the print face is relatively small 😲. Liked the idea of a small helping of desert with a hot drink in lieu of a full blown sweet course. On my 'list' to revisit!
M. J. “. B. H.
Maria is such a nice girl. She helped us with the right choice.
s. s.
Nice pub. You can take your dogs in.
G. S.
The whole of the visit made us feel safe and most welcoming. All staff had PPE and uniform on and social distancing was adhered to. The waitress Becky and other members of staff was so pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent and affordable, highly recommend. We have already booked to go again.
R. F.
Nice relaxing bar side of the river trent large back garden
L. J.
Blooming beautiful quite frankly! Delicious food with good choice. Friendly and professional staff. Lovely beer garden. Would recommend and return!
P. L.
EXCELLENT food and a quaint interior that added to the overall experience. Great outdoor area if you have a dog and within easy walking distance of the Trent and, if needed, the local tram network.
H. D.
We visited the Ferry twice last weekend, Friday 24/04 had two very enjoyable hours eating and drinking. Saturday 25/05 just drinking, 3rd way down a bottle of wine they told us we would have to leave in 10 minutes, apparently they only allow 1.5 hours if only drink but then their website clearly states you stay for 2 hours either way. In reality I suspect they bent the rules to suit, they needed the the table for a larger group of 6.
R. W.
The Venue:s set up was very organised & welcoming with helpful staff , happy to assist as you would expect with postive attitudes.
The layout was organized in a good way.
Food as large group we all gave praise. The main course was value for money we all had roast dinners.im not a puddings type of guy but was very happy with my sticky toffee pudding with custard. Recommendation given to the establishment by our group , unfortunately we live 90 miles away but worth the time to drive.
L. C.
Enjoyable lunch yesterday. All the food was lovely and the staff were pleasant and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you we’ll be back.
R. J.
We enjoyed our meal and it was great service, Mona was an excellent host, will definitely be back
G. M.

D. M.
Perfect food, I had the steak which was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent quick and.polite. This is now one of my favourite places to eat.
C. H.
10/10 service as usual. Served by Robyn and her customer service was excellent 🥰☺️
a. k.
Had a lovely pub lunch today perfect service and delicious food. The Sunday roasts were so tasty and came with a great amount of meat
E. H.
It was my birthday and we had tried 3 other places to find a menu that wasn't just burgers. The welcome we were given was genuine and lots of helpful tips for the menu. We don't like anything with garlic and this can prove tricky in lots of places. However we were assured that what we had chosen could be done without. It was a lovely meal, good quality food and great service. Thank you and we will be back and would certainly recommend to anyone.
C. H.
Excellent food, extremely welcoming and very friendly and helpful staff 👍 its a great place to eat and socialise 😁
m. r.
Very nice food very good portions. Service from Sara was amazing she is so happy and bubbley. Thanks for a great evening guys. We will return soon. Hopefully you will have creme brulee back on..
S. C.
Staff very welcoming and helpful. Didn't rush for the orders. I had mussels and fries and friend had belly pork which was served with either mash or fries. Both were finished. There is a choice of real ales, also bottled beer. I had lime and soda which was excellent. It was not too strong or too sweet as at many places. We were offered starters and sweets but declined both. We finished with coffee which again was very nice, not bitter as many places use.
J. T.
We had never been to this Inn before but we will definitely go again. The lovely young man who welcomed us whose name, forgive me, I have forgotten now was a solutelwonderful. It was my birthday and as my partner was having a dessert he so sweetly put a candle on the biscuit that came with my coffee. He truly made my birthday lunch special by being so very, very thoughtful and kind.He knows who he is and will remember his kindness. The other staff were lovely too.I can recommend this Inn to anyone who appreciates good food and brilliant people to take great care of u while visiting.God bless them all.
L. H.
Never a disappointment. The service was speedy and the food amazing however they could have easily got another drink out of us had they checked back.
A. C.
Lovely pub with a spacious beer garden
L.
Ferry Inn is in a very nice setting with ideal outside area for drinks. People were ignoring the signs on the door near us that said that said exit only and staff did not tell them they should enter by the bar door, which did affect our meal, we even had a dog sniffing at our food not good. The meal was passable and good value because of the half price Government Scheme

Had a lovely lunch spent with very dear friends. Staff and service was good. Definately will be eating there again.
D. H.
Always great food and great selection of ales. Nice beer garden away from noise and busy roads, nice place to chill on an evening.
C. A.
Good meal and service. Very friendly.
J. S.
Had an enjoyable lunch today, booked a table few weeks back. Had umbrella with heaters but not needed today. Nice menu, very attentive staff. Car parking ok but very full when we left.
A. T.
A cosy and relaxing atmosphere, good food with some tasty specials to choose from.Warm and friendly service in particular our server Jane who was great, so attentive and helpful :)
K. H.
Great food, friendly helpful staff, nice venue
H. B.
Great food. Fab service. Always guaranteed a nice meal here.
J. P.
Family Sunday lunch for 8 people including two children. We were greeted and seated immediately asked for our drinks order and served very quickly. Order placed for our meal which arrived hot and tasty. One little niggle, my wife order gammon which was sliced very thinly and had quite a lot of fat not much meat really. Our waitress Sarah is a super young lady who has a great personality lovely welcoming smile and knows how to interact with the public.
M. b.
Great service, lovely meals as always.
B. W.
4 hand pulled ales, an extensive menu, lovely well furnished building and excellent staff.
A. C.
Popped in after walking past earlier on in the week, so glad we did as the food & service was excellent!
T. G.
Lovely comfortable pub. Friendly staff tasty food - good value for money
W. M.
Charlotte at the Ferry was attentive, polite and pleasant to deal with. Thank you for an enjoyable visit.
a. b.
Nice cozy pub. Quite big but lots of corners. Not a huge selection of ales but they are well kept. Good food, not overpriced. Very popular so at busy times you might not get a table. You can book a table in the restaurant. Plenty of seating in the garden if it's nice weather.
M. E.
Decent food and caters for vegans better than most places. Staff are great and were welcoming to our group. Overall a great little pub with an awesome garden and a large selection of gins.

Visited the Ferry Inn for what has become, a rare treat Sunday lunch meal.
Have been wanting to visit the pub for a very long time.
Was very impressed by the COVID-precautions being out in place, the staff were extremely attentive and felt very safe whilst eating at our table.
The food itself was clearly cooked with a lot of care - perfectly slow-roasted meat, crispy and fluffy roast potatoes and home-made yorkshire puddings... Couldn't have asked for much more!
G. B.
Unfortunately we booked not knowing there was a fathers day menu. This seemed to be over priced for the quality of the food. It was not bad but expected better for the price paid.
M.
We had booked a table here for Sunday lunch, as I been many times before, but unfortunately there was an issue with their delivery and they ran out of the gluten free/ vegetarian options.
The staff were brilliant in sorting out a alternative, nothing was too much trouble and Sam and the staff provided a great service from start to finish. Would highly recommend the ferry inn.
B. C.
Fantastic meal and the service was second to none. Even did a lovely treat for husbands birthday.
N. H.
Great pub with really friendly and welcoming staff. Food is really good here and there’s a nice selection of draught and bottled beer with the IPA icebreaker a personal favourite. Nicely located next to the river Trent we always stop off after a walk or visit for some drinks with friends in the large beer garden.
S.
My first visit to the pub on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant was fully booked but we managed to get the last table in the bar.
Staff were very pleasant and there is a good selection of ales wines and spirits.
My partner and I had their gourmet sausage & mash and Gourmet beef burger and both were very nice.
I would definitely visit again.
M. T.
A nice evening meal made more enjoyable knowing we got 40% discount on the main course and 7% cashback on the overall bill. The food was well presented and there was neither too much to eat or so little that we were left feeling hungry. Had the service been quicker i would have rated our visit at five stars but as it was so busy and service was slow one star was withheld. I think more staff on duty would have reduced the waiting time at the bar and meant that tables could.have been cleared more quickly. This would have reduced waiting times for both getting served at the bar and seated for a meal
S. P.
Lovely, rustic, warm and cosy pub. Food is gorgeous too.
A. N.
First time I've been must say I was impressed with the food. The taste is amazing not bland like most pub food.
S. C. R.
Fantastic service from all the staff, the specials are a great addition since last time we visited, our food was delicious. Thank you to all involved
E. P.
A grand luxurious traditional establishment, catering all angles and delightful friendly very accommodating for personal preferences. A large safe pub garden, for children and animals most welcomed. Thankfully no corporate chain reaction, overwhelmed disturbances and unfriendly relations. Very warm atmosphere, delightful and Jan is an exceptional honest dedicated member of staff!
Z. P.
Enjoyed lunch here today. Very friendly and efficient service. A very nice ambience..We had a chicken breast burger with chips. It could really have done with a little salad garnish or a small side dish of coleslaw to complete it! It looked bland on the plate...Otherwise it was very tasty and good value.
A. W.
Superb staff at bar and in restaurant. They could not be nicer or more helpful. I was totally amazed how good they were. And super friendly too. The food was also good. Had plenty of gluten free options.
We will make a point of going back there.
C. R.
Had fish and chips as a Saturday lunch treat and it was excellent. Just been back and had steak & chips and as usual was very good.
R. K.
Lovely food, friendly helpful and attentive staff, especially Sarah always smiling, nothing is to much effort/to ask for she is a credit to The Ferry !!
They are constantly spraying handles/services,have screens up at the bar, table service, hand sanitizer throughout the pub/restaurant,one way system in place as well as 1 in 1 out system to use the toilet. In this current global situation The Ferry in my opinion offers a safe, inviting, friendly, safe place to have either drinks and food or just drinks. Well done to all the team keep up the good quality food and service your all a credit to both the landlord/landlady as well as the "Geen King" brand
C. B.
We booked a table for my sons birthday. We was a party of four including a fussy eater 9 year old. We was greeted with a smile and a very warm welcome. All the meals was cooked to perfection. The bar was very well stocked with a large selection to choose from. This was our first experience of eating here but it will definitely not be the last. Recommended
S. M.
Still a decent place but it used to be so so much better. They have recently reduced their previously very comprehensive menu to a normal run of the mill chain type menu. Also the service wasn't, on this occasion, up to standard. We weren't asked about more drinks or even offered a pudding, which was odd. This used to be our 'treat to ourselves' pub meal but it's slipped a bit I'm sorry to say. Sadly indicative of standards generally.
M. C.
Great, friendly service. Good, traditional food and good selection of drinks including gins and ciders. We asked for a jug of water that came a bit late but food came on time and all staff were wearing visors.
A. S.
Excellent space and food. Maria, our server, was amazing and very kind
J. K.
Party of about 20 pre-booked for a family meal get together. Initially a long wait to be served at the bar but the rest of the evening was excellent.
I had standard fish and chips which was first class.
V. P.
Really enjoyed the meal here. The Sunday roasts are HUGE!!!
The staff were super friendly and the desserts were delish. A perfect meeting place. We drove from London and met for Sunday lunch with family. Such a nice pub too. Price wasn't at all bad for the amount of food you got!
K. A.
Delicious Sunday lunch. There were 8 of us and we had every Sunday lunch option between us but the lamb came out favourite. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
J. R.
Been here a few times. Always good friendly staff, and very accomodating. We've eaten from the normal pub menu. Very much as you'd expect. The food we had was a little greasy but great chips and well presented.
I. E.
If you love olives, go here.
P. T.
Beautiful looking place, The food was absolutely delicious and just the right amount, without feeling completely stuffed. Service was 1st glass with very polite and friendly, just wish you was closer to where I live lol
C. G.
lovely food, great service
D. B.
Great local pub which is slightly off the beaten track. Large bear garden with plenty of space for big groups or children. The mean is fairly modern as is the decor (and this was posted pre the recent fitout). Really good food and and nice relaxed pub atmosphere.
Highly recommended
R. H.
Great food and good service. A cut above most chef and brewers.
F. C.
Menu had a good selection at reasonable prices, one of my fellow diners had lasagne and barely ate any because it was underwhelming, the other mains were good but the pie needed to be served with more gravy, desserts were fine. Serving needs to be less faffy. There is no need to serve chips in flowerpots or sticky toffee pudding in a mini skillet!
B. G.
After a glowing recommendation I was somewhat disappointed. Ended up in the bar area as they were busy, which I don't mind at all, but it was filthy with cobwebs, spiders and dust everywhere. Staff were not overly helpful in terms of guidance (e.g. this is where the menus are, please order at the bar etc.) My burger tasted like bland, dried out cardboard but my wife said her gammon steak was nice.
R. H.
I stopped going when the pub changed hands, but a workmate advised me the Ferry Inn had improved. How right he was!
The food is very good (modern British) and the ambience great too. A good beer and wine selection. Puddings are well presented and the staff are lovely.
Worth booking for a family lunch, or a fancy night out for two. Do ring ahead, if you can, because it can be busy at peak times.
C. M.
Lovely food and most of the staff are very friendly. Being greeted and seated was a little awkward. A maître d' would help the rushed waiting staff but I didn't see one on a Sunday at 3pm. The beer choice is a little limited considering the number of pumps.
T. C.
We had a dinner at the restaurant with good food and good service. At the hotel the staff were very serviceminded and friendly. We had to leave before the breakfast was served, but were offered a breakfast to go. The room was very clean and the bathroom seemed quite new.
T. K.
Less of a pub and more of a restaurant
Went there after work for a cheeky pint with the guys... and while the staff are generally friendly and place has a nice atmosphere, it’s far too expensive and things that should be working (eg the heaters outside) just aren’t.
It’s a pub that has been bitten by the dreaded plague of turning into a restaurant (or a gastropub, whatever one of those is), and whilst I only glanced at the menu, the prices made me Blanche enough to be sure that wasn’t going to order any food!
It has clearly been gentrified... and whilst that’s not necessarily a bad thing... I think it is a shame that yet another great British boozer has succumbed to the pressures of the big companies and breweries
A. M.
Great place to eat. Friendly atmosphere and the staff can't do enough. It is a bit more expensive, but the food is worth it
K. D.
Ferry Inn. Great Pub. Engaging staff serving quality good and drink. Recently refurbished and 1 minutes walk from the tramstop this pub is a gem. The welcoming open fire is a joy in winter and the beer garden a lovely outdoor area in spring and summer.
I. L.
Nice and cozy place. Good garden and plenty of space for children. Good variety of beers and good food menu. Even if you want to go eat, prepare to wait the long 50 minutes for a ration of Fish ans Chips, it seems that they are going to fish the cod and pick the potatoes from the orchard in Ireland.
a. t.
Nice pint just visited it today 👍
s. c.
Happy with the meal very nice.the waitresses was so nice happy and friendly would recommend will be going back.
C. D.
I'm French, just went for a drink with friend. Nice ancient pub with origin story as I like to find to England. It was the last day of school and we were surrounded by schoolchildren and their parents in the garden. Good moments. it seems that the village is very pleasant. Near the pub a beautiful church that we could not visit because closed ... which I understand very well.
I will come back again for a visit, next time i will be in Notts...
T. M.
Fantastic, rustic little pub, next to the river Trent, accessible from both sides (it's opposite the old Wilford toll bridge), at the end of Wilford Village. The Ferry Inn service several nice lagers and ales, and good food. There's outdoor seating in the summer, and open log fires in the winter. The staff are very friendly. It's a lovely place to end a walk at, or to take family for a meal.
B. G.
The location is great and the pub itself appears smart but it's falling apart. The garden gate didn't close, the garden furniture barely held together, the toilet seat was not attached!
Food was decent but expensive, £13 for a burger that was a little on the over done side, served on a large plate with few fries, once the children had robbed some there were barely any left. £6 paid for an adult desert got you essentially the same size as a kids desert for £2.50.
Drinks again were not cheap. A modest round £20-30 with maybe 3-4 alcoholic drinks and a smattering of kids drinks.
A nice evening was had at the ferry with friends, but the wallet at least £80 lighter with only two adult mains.
Expensive and a bit shabby.
R. M.
All ways a nice place to visit staff are very polite. But I think meals have down hill
M. D.
Always warm and welcoming after a day of driving
T. H.
Great service great food great staff
t. d.
Excellent food but the 2 shandys I had made me be sick really bad, San Miguel and lemonade was really sick 2 hours later
K. M.
First class service in a relaxing environment and the foods good too. Pleased to see they've managed to regain their car park for at Ron's and not as an overspill for tram users. Would recommend this pub/restaurant.
Y. L.
My husband and I took our 1-year-old here for Sunday lunch on the weekend. It has a really lovely atmosphere - really cosy and feels like a proper pub, while still being quite modern and nicely decorated.
The food was delicious. My husband and I both had the roast turkey and my son had the kids fish pie. All were substantial meals and beautifully cooked. The turkey was lovely and moist, and the Yorkshire pudding was perfectly done. The veggies were very good as well. The fish pie went down pretty quickly, so my kid obviously enjoyed that too! We shared a millionaire's cheesecake for dessert, and it was amazing. Definitely rich, but not so rich you feel sick afterwards :D
The staff are absolutely lovely. Very friendly and helpful, and very patient with the baby. He's likes to wave to people as they go past, and whenever any of the staff had a hand free, they would wave back. We definitely don't expect our kid to be entertained when we go out, but it was certainly nice!
The only reason I've given 4 stars and not 5 is that it was exceedingly slow. It took 40 minutes from when we ordered to get our lunch. Dessert was quicker, but still slower than you'd expect for a slice of cake. In fact, the only thing that was prompt was being seated. We arrived at 13:40 on a Sunday, so it definitely wasn't quiet, but it wasn't at capacity either. It just seems like the staff are a little bit disorganised, and don't have proper checklists and systems.
I'd definitely go back, but with the expectation that it's going to be slow.
A. H.
The ferry is a chef and brewer chain pub which despite its mediocre food and drinks has one of the nicest beer gardens of any pub in Nottingham. Plenty of pub benches out on the lawn. It's a nice place to spend a few hours on a summers day and evening.
R. B.
Good food, good beer and lovely pub. Nice friendly staff that actually try to please.
Ever changing creative menu provides a good selection for pallets and pockets.
Best all round pub in the area.
Shame it's a chain.
J. S.
Steak pie absolutely one of the best and excellent chips. Cheese board definitely bordercase. Service very slow today without pub being busy. However still an excellent meeting place, an very accessible from the tram.
P. C.
Great food at reasonable prices. Serving staff are mostly excellent and speed of service is good. Eaten here several times and will continue to do so whilst ever food and service continue at this level. Watch out for occasional excellent offers (30% off mains today).
K. S.
Beautiful place to eat, with a stunning menu and a relaxed atmosphere. The beer garden is amazing in the sun, they have a good selection of drinks and the staff are always happy to help!
A. D.
Good food (we went for one of the sharing platters) and good ale. Love the garden seating area as well.
S. W.

Food and table service good.
Response to 'message left on answer phone' following day very poor, as a result, our guests had to leave Nottingham without the issue being resolved. It took over 24 hours before staff responded!!!!!
j. r.
Nice staff and dog friendly..extremely clean
M. M.
Asked for soup of the day told it was spicy lentil received spinach soup. Main meal chips were cold and no mint sauce for lamb. Then another waitress brought mint sauce. Poor organisation or understaffed kitchen Not sure which overall food was nice. Given a free dessert to apees.
M. G.
Lovely food good selection of drinks very friendly staff and great surroundings
Ö. D.
We had slow cooked Lamb sunday meal here. The food is ok, but not worth the price. The venue has a potential but the service was a bit slow. It's essentially pub food (frozen roast potatoes) but at a higher price.
D. C.
Good beer, nice food and great beer garden. Location is only handy if you live next door though. It has a tram stop though so you can easily go somewhere else
C. T.
Always a lovely place to visit Lovely food and great service. Only issue was if they working with track and trace, they didnt take our names or a contact number. ??
C. C.
This place was so so cute and lovely! I loved this, the food was gorgeous!
C. C.

Great staff, great food, great drinks & great atmosphere 😁
L. B.
Lovely restaurant, great food and atmosphere
M. B.
We had a nice evening here. The food was lovely, but unfortunately the service let them down. We waited ages for our food. Seemed like they could have done with more staff on as the waitress in our area was rushed off her feet!
K. F.
Love this place and even better now that dogs are allowed inside. Very well organised re. Covid. Great service.
H. C.
Great location and huge garden- good for cyclists. Food can be erratic and the ale is sometimes stale. Friendly staff (mostly). Not bad for a Chef+Brewer pub.
K. H.
Good food. Staff friendly. Local
M. S.
Lovely friendly pub staff was very helpful and friendly.
P. F.
Went here for lunch and wasn't disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The interiors are very cosy. The food was superb. I had the waygu burger and my wife the gourmet burger. I would recommend this to anyone looking for great food and atmosphere. A+
D. H.
Make sure you go with an empty stomach. The portions are large and the food is incredibly tasty.
m. h.
Took nearly 40 minutes to get our food. Sea bass skin was rubbery. Cod and chips were good. Pork belly was good. Service was indifferent.
H. E.
Amazing staff and amazing food !
D. L.
Yesterday we took our sons out for sunday lunch, the food was amazing, bit disappointed that the rib of beef run out at two oclock.
The staff are so friendly, they even managed a birthday candle for our sons birthday pudding lol. We travelled yesterday from Rotherham and the journey wasnt wasted, its a pleasure to eat at the ferry inn, its our second visit and we are already planning our third. Keep up the good work.
P. s.
Nice pub, good service but food a bit of a let down. Sea food grill was dry and over cooked. Rib eye steak was fine but they had run out of fillet.
K. S.
Lovely little pub with a table service section. We had one of the sundaes and it was to die for! Can't wait to go back and eat a full meal!
A. D.

J. L. C. B.
Great garden in the backyard, even better personnel. Food was more than acceptable.

Lovely food and great service from Rosie. They also managed to squeeze us in on a busy Sunday when we hadn't booked.
R. J.
Lovely Sunday roast and not too expensive. This was my local since the age of 14 and now I've moved away I come back as often as possible. It's had good times and bad, I think now it's having the best of times.
S. B.
Lovely meal, but dissapointed when ordered creamy peppercorn sauce to go with steak was served Stilton and peppercorn which was not on menu and I absolutely hate and was still charged for, otherwise meal was enjoyable but service rather slow maybe because was busy.
J. H.
10/10 Customer service from Robyn who served us!!
M. w.
Lovely place to visit to either sit inside or out. Large garden for outdoor seating. Even a spot for table tennis. Service was scattered between members on the table and long wait between 1st and 2nd service
M. S.
Lovely place to have lunch very peaceful and calming Food is always very good as is the service - top notch! Pity it's a fair to go from where we live
