Reviews of Riverside Farm - Dining & Carvery

I thoroughly enjoyed the carvary experience, the food was hot, the meats well cooked & all at a very competitive price. The establishment is clean, well laid out and there was plenty of room. The staff were welcoming & attentive. Riverside Farm did a great job & we will definitely dine there again.

Decided that I couldn't be bothered to cook so came here for dinner.
It was great! Carvery for less than £10. Hubby and (adult) daughter both had ice cream 🍦 😋
Service was good. Staff friendly and helpful.
Will definitely go again.
P. L.
Standard carvery serving pub, food was good.
Breakfast buffet is on a only go once thing. Me I was happy with that, got given a small plate instead of standard but was still well filled up.
Unlimited toast helped although the lack of marmalade is reflected in my score.
A very very special mention to staff member Michelle, who was amazing at breakfast, and when I returned later in the evening was still working, clearly tired and exhausted but still offering her beautiful smile and customer service. 🎩 Take it off to you

An excellent friendly welcome was the start of a great experience. The food available was limited to the carvery selection, but as this was our intended preference it wasn't a problem.
The food for selection was well prepared and presented. The staff member serving the meat was a very friendly and efficient team member.
The atmosphere was relaxed with the background music a selection of styles that was not played too loudly so as to allow conversation to comfortably take place.
Highly recommend a visit.

The beef lasagne was nice enough, nothing overly special. Usually have a carvery, thought I would try something different. Next time shall stick to the carvery which is usually very good.
Always save room for a pudding. They are very reasonably priced and biblical in portion sizes. While they come with a notice that informs you of the calorie count, they don't mention that sustained eating might lead to a diabetic coma resulting in a smile that will take any half competent mortician a week to remove.
The cake here is not a lie.

First time there, staff were excellent, very friendly. Never felt rushed Had the root veg pie and chips, cooked well, didn't have to wait too long, followed by the biggest sticky toffee pudding which was fantastic! Would definitely go back.
R. G.
Wow. Just had the most amazing carvery , all the veg was well cooked, super tasty, piping hot and freshly made. The gravy was perfect too. I would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant if you want the best carvery in Nottingham at a very reasonable price.
C. K.
Would've been a 5 star but carvery just wasn't amazing when I went. Staff were brilliant and friendly though and a really nice clean and relaxing place! Definitely going back will just have a different meal :) oh and the cake is spot on!
K. M.
The food was tasty, not the best ever but still good enough to keep going back. The staff there atm were incredible though, upbeat and friendly, supportive of my dietary needs and super helpful generally. Keep it up gang, I'll be back 😊
S. T.
We tried the Carvery and it was really good! The food quality is high and the service was exceptional. Jo was attentive, caring and really friendly. We are new to the Nottingham area and will definitely be returning as regular customers.
N. W.
Always wanted to come here. Had the carvery. Oh the food had great flavour. The mashed and roasties were heaven. The Brussels and brocoli were a bit hard for my liking but that's my personal preference. Didn't have meat. I had no room for pudding 😩
A.
Well full, food was really nice, hot, service was very good and friendly. Came around 2 ish on a weekday, not over crowded, best time for the best service and food. We'll done and would definitely come again during the week, especially as having avoided places like these previously.
H. E.
Visited on a Sunday, it was very busy. Took over thirty minutes to reach the front of the carvery queue and even then the vegetable pie took another ten minutes to arrive. Pastry of said pie was rock hard and inedible. All other veg were ok and staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
R. W.
Possibly one of the best Carveries going and the staff above exceptional. Though aways let down by the stuffing, is nothing more than a glutinous mass. If only places would pay more attention to it. 🙄 or tried to be more creative with it?
B. H.
Fantastic carvery ! Food is always up-to a good standard and always a variety of food on offer. My favourite team member is Jo, she always gives a warm vibe and checks in to make sure everything is ok . Defiantly the best carvery in Nottingham.
R. L.
Front of house staff seemed more interested in chatting than cleaning tables. Food was nice if a little on the expensive side but given today's climate understandable. Atmosphere was okay.
S. H.
Went yesterday and took friends, very busy and service was quick. Staff are well organised and very pleasant. 3 different sized plaits for the carvery 3 larg 1 med.
Food was beautiful gammon beef turkey. Piginblankets and giant Yorkshires. Veg selection is excellent. Looking forward to our next visit. Weldone to all the staff thank you. 😊 😋
K. D.
Had a carvery .it was better than the last time I went.the food was warm to nearly hot, attention is needed to items running low/out. Had worse but had better.
L. D.
Really impressed!
The chicken stack was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend.
Menu selection fantastic and staff were very professional . Enjoy ….
L. D.
A beautiful cozy pub the staff are very friendly helpful and smiley the meals where lush especially the steak cooked to perfection thankyou to the chef order took no time at all deserves 5 stars
R. B.
Really good quality food, the young lady in the restaurant was very attentive. Bar could have been better staffed.
M. S.
Eating here was a very pleasant experience. The customer service was excellent and the staff were very polite and always smiling. The wait to be served at the bar was around 3-5 minutes but this could simply be due to it being a Sunday.
I ordered "The Giant Farm Burger" which was £9.49 and initially I expected the burger to be small, as many burger places I have been to tend to serve burgers on the small side but this burger definitely lived up to its name. Not only was the burger a satisfying size, there was no compromise in taste and the burger was delicious.
The burger also comes with a side of fries included in the price and the fries were surprisingly tasty, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and could be enjoyed without needing to add salt or sauce
The food arrived very quickly with only a 5 - 10 minute wait which was excellent and there were no mistakes in any of the orders that me and my group made
The seating was very nice and spacious and there is a very nice outdoor seating area that is quite large and covered by umbrellas. There is also a play area for children that has games and small coin operated rides if this is of interest to you
Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon
S. T.
Was a group of us carvery was great but a few of the meals of the menu weren't great and some that we asked for weren't in stock. But staff were great alittle run off the feet as was very busy. Will definitely go back for carvery
L. T.
Amazing all you can eat breakfast, great variety of food to choose, Jo was lovely made us feel welcome.
C. R.
The only complaint l had was people parking in the disabled bays with no blue badge this is inconsiderate and put stress on my disabled wife as she suffers from osteoarthritis however they kindly supplied a chair for her to sit on whilst the chef served her
A. M.
Nothing special to be honest but a nice mid-week carvery, and at a reduced price compared to weekend dining.
A.
Cheap and cheerful carvery! Huge slices of cakes. I'd recommend taking them away rather than eating in after a big roast! Great staff, unfortunately I didn't catch the name of our server but she was lovely and so welcoming! I'll be back in the morning for breakfast :) x
J. L.
Very functional for the confident eaters ! Food really tasty and well cooked. The waiters are well trained in making you feel welcome and looked after. The sweets are to die for and you get a good portion. Great for the family to get together ( when we get back to regular life )
V. M.
When we got to Riverside farm they had run out of meat but the manager went above & behond to sort something for us They cooked us chicken breast that was lovely all the staff were lovely & very welcoming cannot wait to go back to try the carvery meat thankyou to all at Riverside farm
Y. J.
The carvery food was cooked to perfection and in my honest opinion outstanding value for money It was my first time and to be honest I literally visited based on good reviews.
I particularly liked the care and attention the manager gave to customers and making sure the dining experience was just that little bit special.
Would definitely recommend this eating establishment.
A. V.
Reading reviews on here like ‘they didn’t have sirloin steak’ and ‘poor vegan choices for a carvery’ 1 star. Pathetic.
Great staff good environment and cheap prices. Don’t listen to these childish reviews.
M.
First visit to Riverside Farm. And going on today's experience it certainly won't be our last. Met at the door by a charming member of staff, shown to table , he explained our the restaurant was running because of covid. Waitress was very nice and friendly and she couldn't do enough. The Christmas fayre meal was very nice, choice of 3 meats, fresh vegetables and big Yorkshire puddings. I was very impressed with the food and attentive staff. Toilets clean, plenty of hand sanitizer at different points. Large car park. Close to Riverside retail park. With shops such as Boots, B&Q, Home Bargains.
M. A.
Fabulous carvery. Friendly staff. And to say it was peak time on a sunday it didn't take to long to be served. Great value for money. There is also an indoor area for children to play. Suitable for all kinds of groups of people.
l. b. l.
Staff were lovely & food was amazing. Queue for the Carvery but it was a Sunday evening during peak time so it’s expected! 100% worth the wait. Great prices as well. No complaints (:
F. L.
Service isn't very good.. Some of the staff seem miserable.... Not very helpful or pleasant place to be anymore! Carvery was lovely great quality. However the chips and mushy peas were awful!
S. T.
An absolute treat...fabulous welcome by the staff, all smiling and interacting with visitors despite how busy it was. Amazing carvery, perfectly cooked... unfortunately we left no room for pudding...this was a tradegy...cakes and ice cream galore to choose from ...well worth a visit. IF I was forced to find a negative I would say the decor is a little dated but this does not in anyway deter from the quality of the service or food.
d. g.
Fantastic carvery lots of choice really hot & tasty. Not expensive staff really nice too
M. F.
All the staff were welcoming and friendly. We had the ultimate carvery, which was excellent value for money and good quality. 5 stars for Riverside Farm...well done.
N. A.
Had a wonderful meal here tonight with the family. Went to have a meal for my children's birthday and the staff decorated a table for us without being asked, we took our cake and they brought it to the table with the candles lit. Made the eve really special. Food was hot, fresh and portico s of the carvery were huge!! Excellent quality and price. Only down side is the play area is virtually none existent which is sad. Overall great night, will be back. Thanks so much x
D. N.
First time visiting here, the food was lovely, staff very friendly and food came out in good time :)
Will 100% go again
P. M.
Decent carvery like what your gran would make. Aunt Bessie Yorkshire puds and a bath of gravy. Decent portions to be found here ...the cakes are huge. Cake away... go there hungry and sleep after. But don't be put off by the massive que for the carvery it moves quick enough.
R. A.
Sunday roast was great. Would go again. Their menu is great! They have loads of variety for a meal. Vegetarian option available for a Sunday roast!
D. C.
Great service and friendly atmosphere. Disappointed that several things were unavailable on the menu such as basics like Lasagne or a Ploughman's Lunch.
S. W.
Super friendly and efficient staff. Tasty, good value carvery. Thank you!
M. F.
Had an amazing meal, I had lamb shank, my husband and dad had the carvery and our son had coated chicken, all meals was exceptional, we decided on a cheesecake for dessert, expecting a small slice to complement and finish the meal and then we was brought the biggest slices of cheesecake we have seen, unfortunately we couldn't eat it all and we was supplied with plastic trays to bring them home in. We will be back again soon.
M. T.
Not a bad place. The location is convenient and establishment quite nice with a cool kids play area. I had their carvery which wasn't all that great. Clearly had last weeks potatoes and some dry meat. Decent value for money, though, and nice atmosphere.
Easy parking, seating indoor and out.
J. S.
Called in for lunch while waiting for our car to be serviced. Greeted immediately by a friendly staff member & were able to choose a table in a corner away from other people. Clean table. The young lady took our drinks order & brought menu. She brought the card reader to our table to pay each time we ordered something. We were informed the meals would take a little longer than usual as they had a large amount of orders at the same time. This was not a problem, if we had wanted to be leaving quickly we would have had the carvery which looked very nice. I ordered a curry with rice, my husband ordered Rib eye steak with chips. Curry, rice & dips were lovely but the nan & poppadum were rubbery as if re-heated. Far too much rice for me (took up half the plate) so had to leave half. The steak (medium rare) was dry although some of it was medium rare inside. The chips had an unusual taste & the onion rings tasted undercooked inside. Peas & tomato were fine. The Cappuccino's were only just warm enough, had to drink quickly. So overall not very happy, should have had carvery, would have been cheaper!
A. S.
Good food the place is clean and tidy reasonably priced food will go again to try the carvery hear that it is good.
R. M.
Went to pick up a carvery but had a drink as well very good staff very welcomed
K. C.
Friendly waiting staff, went on a Saturday afternoon was busy, had to wait for food but was advised on delays but turned up fresh
V. B.
Staff very welcoming food very good but not too hot
P. O.
Always enjoy eating here, especially at tea time on a week day/night. Not too busy, good quality food, good portions. Quick service if you use the app. And you don’t have to book, which is great!
M. M.
Goodly amount of easy parking. Clean,. Polite friendly staff. Comfy chairs. Fair quality food, not overcooked. At reasonable prices. We all had the carvery. It was late in their service. No broccoli or parsnips. End of the beef joint for me. In fairness, still a little pink and tender. Very tasty. Extra horseradish sauce provided with no hassle. All round good. I'm deffo going back.!
H. B.
We went on a Sunday it was so busy !!
The carvery was amazing so much choice and variety I was very impressed !
A couple in my party had meals off the menu and my husband wanted the ploughman's with hallumi was told by the staff member that he didn't need to order the hallumi seperate that if he upgraded his ploughman's it would come with it ! it didn't!
Also the other meals took a long time we had queued got our carvery and nearly finished by the time the other meals arrived so bit disappointing there but all in all staff trying their best!
C. W.
Great family experience my son loved the kids tomato pasta he gobbled it up very quickly.
The hunter's chicken was amazing and the other meals were thoroughly enjoyed. We always book to ensure that we get a table and I always get a slice of chocolate fudge cake simply delightful.
J. W.
Excellent menu choice plus a carvery. Friendly efficiant staff. Great place to eat
j. W.
Loved the experience, nice value menu with lots to choose from. Enjoy.!!!!...…
A. H.
Great food, brilliant atmosphere, children friendly, good beer and a hotel next door what more could a visitor to nottingham want
L. L.
Yum. We came here after shopping at the retail park. The carvery fresh and hit .we came to the restaurant early and the food espically the Nash was delicious. Definitely will go again. My tip go early when food is not long out.
L. B.
Food is good however, service quite poor just recently. Not up to the usual standards which they once we're.
D. C.
An excellent carvery, one of the best I've been to. Choice of veg was amazing.
M. M.
Very Much Enjoyed our Meal at the Riverside. Excellent in Every Way. Very Tasty Well Prepared Food, Fantastic Service from All Members of Staff, Lovely Atmosphere.
D. L.
Really enjoyed our meal and the table staff were fabulous
s. r.
Jo was our waitress and she couldn't have been more helpful. Will certainly ask for her when we go again.

Please let me paint a picture of how your company has really impressed me in turning around a massive complaint to a huge well done.
Back in 2016 me and my family visited Riverside Farm in Nottingham. The service was so atrocious I was dealing with your Regional Manager for the complaint. Honestly you name it went wrong from under cooked food to your staff complaining to me and my family they were overworked and one of the manager laughing in my parents face when they wanted their complaint resolving (Christmas Day) to the point where then I had to interject.
As a family we vowed never to use that part of the greene king family and use other venues.
Roll on to 2021. Me and my son visited your establishment. In all honesty a last resort travelling back and wasn't expecting anything great. How wrong was I! The service was tremendous the food was excellent and the staff impeccable.
The hard part! I persuaded the rest of my family to visit your establishment tonight 26th August 2021. Was I expecting the same? Was I thinking the other week I just got lucky. Consistency is hard to find day in day out.
But wow. This evening the service topped that. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff was so accommodating. They never stopped ensuring the venue was clean etc. They was so polite it was outstanding.
If you do any recognition incentives for your staff please looking into rewarding Tiffany, Nicole,Elly, and Shaun because they have single Handed won mine and my family custom back. Well done.
A. S.
Excellent service and food. Welcoming staff, will definitely go back again.
v. g.
Meal was delicious 😋 not as crowded as weekends but still buzy excellent service
K. W.
Very nice place, good choose of food, along with good service. Nice place to go for a meal.
g. s.
A great buffet style breakfast for all the family at a reasonable fixed price 👌
R. Q.
Very good portions of food at reasonable price, more importantly really good quality and brilliant customer service.
I would try again and highly recommend this place especially for Carvery !
Nice outside seating area too for a sunny day.. Thanks .
N. R.
We had our little son's 1st birthday party at Riverside Farm with 30 people outdoor. The service, the food and all what we needed was accommodated with high efficiency and within short time although the restaurant was packed. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend a nice time have a drink and enjoy a meal.
A. C.
Very busy, which is a good sign, but had to wait for the meat to come out of kitchen
S. G.
Really nice pub. Food was very good. Big portions. Very clean place and taking all precautions needed against covid. Very good service too
A. F.
Food ok, they forgot about our reservation and when it finally was sorted we had to sit with another family with screaming kids
d. b.
It was a nice place The food was good and the service. They were helpful and friendly also Clean and tidy
H. a. D. B.
Very busy Carvery on Sundays, queuing out the door. For good reason though, as it's very good.
Great staff generally, but some need more training about the menu.
Just a bit let down by the wait and an announcement twenty minutes after we ordered that food would be 30 minutes late. Should probably have been told this before or during ordering. Made worse by the fact that I was only having a Ploughmans.
T. P.
OK carvery, but no red cabbage & the Abbot Ale remained cloudy to bottom of the glass.
K. R.
Food was okay, wasn't the best.. Staff were friendly and price was good.
j. F.
Really lovely Sunday carvery today. Lots of choice and all the meats were very lean and tasty.
C. H.
Great value for money. £9.99 for a large carvery on a Sunday. Desserts are average price but huge. Pic is a foot long Eclair
G. B.
A very busy please the staff were great and food was delicious I go again 😋
K. L.
First time here lovely meal pleasant staff
S. T.
Lovely food, greating not great for first time there.
Was told to take a seat by a young make and they would come to us in a few minutes.
After 15mins I finished up going to bar and asking the Lovely lady what to do as it was our first time there .
L. H.
Wonderful meal and take home cake x
Plenty of parking spaces...
100% will go back
J. B.
One of our best visits yet. Really friendly and cheerful staff, especially the gentleman serving meats on the carvery.
M. S.
Food was really nice and staff are obviously under a lot of pressure but theres no excuse for lack of cleanliness. First if all the menus where sticky and smelled of stale beer. Stood in the queue for the carvery we could see into the kitchen where food waste bins were overflowing onto the floor. Staff walked by and ignored it including a guy with his arm in a sling who appeard to be the guy in charge. Finally at the end if the carvery the serving hatch where they hand you your plate was covered in spilled food from orevious customers. Would have took less than a minute to clean if someone could have been bothered.
N.
Service was a little slow and we had to ask for a menu and about how to order as we weren’t given one or explained anything when seated, but decent prices for a good quality carvery at least
H. H.
Even though it was a Sunday, the food took nearly an hour to get to the table. Don't get me wrong, the staff are amazing and were super apologetic and they will bend over backwards to help, but even so that is still a long time.
L. F.
Real good food. Very tasty beef. Will be back again soon for sure
D. G.
Great carvery, massive portions, can't fault anything
V. M.
Had carvery beef was so tough couldnt cut it so left it an food wasnt so hot
T. I.
Excellent carvery but awhile to wait for desserts.
a. s.
Great food very good service and friendly staff will definitely go again
V. C.
I had the gammon with pineapple, delicious. Service slow when busy.
K. B.
Extremely nice, friendly, polite, hospitable staff. The staff were absolutely delightful, some of the best service we've had easily.
Very nice place, it is massive and thus VERY spacious. Nice decor and atmosphere too.
We had the carvery and loved it, fantastic turkey and potatoes especially the roasts.
Absolutely worth the money!
Great experience, highly recommended thanks very much. Absolutely fantastic value and also very amazing looking cakes and lovely ice cream section too!
a. l.
Excellent very good food & great staff nothing too much trouble. This was my first visit after being recommended by a work collegue. Try it you wont be dissapointed. The carvery is first class
N. W.
Took a bit of a while carvery was okay and food good
K. G.
Food was good. Toilets were cold, dirty and paint was peeling off the walls.
j. l.
Friendly staff but struggle a little with table service when they are busy, which is understndable. Breakfast was lovely and a fair price. 1 tip though, every table had a sign on saying the table was clean even the ones that weren't clean.
T. L.
Amazing food setting pub and majority of staff were friendly except one who seemed like we was putting her out
A. S.
Ordered, standard scampi, going back for carvery....looked lovely....
G. S.
Must admit after having a bad meal here (cold) they did everything they could to make it up to me. They gave me a full refund and a free takeaway carvery. Will be returning to try again
s. u.
Lovely food. Girl who looked after us was very attentive and friendly even waited to say thankyou for going, said goodbye and hoped we had a good evening. Will return.
P. M.
Had the All Day Breakfast and it was a well worth choice. The Carvery is better than it's sister pub Holly Tree Farm which doesn't do parsnips.
L.
Really great carvery, plenty of choice. Shaun who was on the carvery was very friendly, polite and welcoming and made time to speak to you.
C. M.
Bar staff were very friendly and helpful and a great little area for the smaller ones to let some steam off whilst eating
A. R.
Excellent dining for four! The carvery was a real treat. Wish they had more alcohol free drink options for drivers though
s. d.
Lovely, friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. Great food too!
T. C.
I gave it a 4 star because it wasn't a hot day but the pub Aircon was on, which can chill the food down, but friendly staff, meal was good including desert, all in all a nice place to eat.
A. A.
Used to be good food, but seems to have gone down hill recently which is a shame, still better and xheaper than having to cook a full Sunday lunch with the added benefit of no pots to wash, so still winning 😁
H. S.
Was seated and looked after by Adele. Such a lovely women. Very kind and friendly. Smiling the whole time and made us feel very welcome. Bar staff were also very nice. Always nice to see smiling happy faces. Great job guys
C. C.
The food was so good- the carvery had so many options ! And the cakes were breathtaking!
A. D.
this place was amazing. Sunday carvery was beautiful with a great variety to choose from. cakes are beautiful and great value for money .. would definitely recommend
D. S.

t. w.
Very nice staff and good carvery
K. W.
The food was really good fresh..staff very helpful under pressure..a little noisy but overall a good experience..hope they can get back to earlier time table..soon
K. M.
Very nice carvery at pre-covid prices. The carrots were especially tasty. Christine and Sean who served us were really helpful
C. B.
Best restaurant, placed near the river. The atmosphere was amazing, members of staff great, food delicious, big plates, delightful! All in all such an magical place to be with your family ❤
L. H.
Decent food for the price, service was pretty quick too although we did opt to order through the app. Desserts are of course the main reason I went, never disappoint - huge portion, boxed up half of it to take home.
Was slightly too loud though, couldn’t hear a thing when we went up for the carvery
M. R.
Loved this place good value for money my partner was very full after the extremely large plate which is rare. Deffo coming again 🥺
M. H.
Good food, great prices. Fabulous for an informal family meal. The carvery is excellent value but it can be a bit noisy at times. The breakfast is to die for, can't really add to this. The staff are really friendly too. We will be back.
J. P.
Really nice carvery but the desserts are far too large. The cream accompanying them also tastes very overwhipped or artificial. Either way, it's not very nice. Other than this, the place is decent and waiting times aren't too bad. Staff really friendly and lovely.
l. w.
Just been for lunch, food tasted lovely and was nice and hot. Didnt have to wait too long either.
Staff nice and friendly
M. C.
Booked onto a table of 14 for festive menu yesterday, can't fault anything. Tomato soup was as you'd expect, tasty but would've been better if served with crusty bread. The carvery was ace, chef was a gent cause he gave us all a pig in blanket on the house! For dessert I had the cherry torte which was very tasty. Overall great service, will return again soon :)
L. C.
Very impressed with how accommodating they where.
My aunt as a butter allergy and they cooked her fresh veg so she could have the carvrey.
A. S.
Best carvery I've had. Lovely staff. Decent portions. Plenty of choice. Very reasonably priced.
L. C.
Lovely carvery soo much to choose from
J. G.
Food was as always very nice. I had the carvery. The queue for the carvery was long but worth the wait
J. C.
Lovely carvery all served up & not handled by other customer food & service were both great x
I. d.
Really nice food and friendly staff , but a pub is where you go to the bar and order a drink and take it away with you , not have it brought to ur table , poor lad on the till having to take drink orders and food orders and try and serve drinks at the same time , you should not put a single person under such stress , there is no law that says you can't order a drink from a bar and take it away , that's what I've done in a pub the last 30 odd years , if it means I have to que in a line like being back at school to get pint then I will not be visiting again , because ur carvery was beautiful.
J. K.
I'm very sorry to say yesterday I had fish and chips, instead of my normal order of smothered chicken. The enormous battered fish had very little fish inside. My wife had the smallest bit of salmon, but I must admit she had at least 15 potatoes that covered her plate. This the first bad meal we have had since it first opened.
B. E.
Good carvery and other choices
Since this new manager came in this place has improved considerably
I have regularly visited this place throughout the winter and during some extremely busy times. Good healthy, well cooked food. Pleasant , cheerful staff, minimum waiting times for a table even on exceptionally busy days (mothering Sunday etc). Prices very reasonable, cannot fault the Riverside at all whether there are 2 or 6 at a table.
G. S.
Very busy place. Good carvery and nice desserts.
m. 0.
nice food big £9.99 plate there
B. N.
Food was lovely and staff were friendly.
D. F.
Staff and service was good . Food was ok if a little expensive .
M. C.
Food was really good! Well cooked and plentiful. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
Parking was plentiful and the spaces were large and well laid out.
The prices are very reasonable, just what you would expect from a family-friendly restaurant.
It is incredibly easy to get to as well and is only a bus route that is regular.
There is a play area for small kids and an area away from that for adults to eat in.
All in all a good restaurant and one to which we will be returning.
J. P.
Plenty of tables. Food was lovely . Quick service too.
J. D.
The staff here are so helpful and accommodating. The venue itself is accessible for prams and wheelchairs and there is free parking outside. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for customers and conveniently it is located next to the travel lodge. They offer a full menu and a carvery daily. They are open till relatively late which is useful. There are veggie and vegan options even for the carvery.
P. T.
Unlimited breakfast, unlimited tea and coffee, delicious.
R. B.
Good carvery, we've got a young child so we were there as they were clearing breakfast and first putting the carvery out! Well priced and staff were approachable and attentive. Definitely won't be our last visit!
C. T.
Always value for money and friendly staff

Excellent food, highly recommend. Fast and friendly service

We fell upon this establishment after going for a walk to find a breakfast meal the weekend of the Riverside festival. As a family of four found there was a variable menu from all day breakfast to the usual Sunday carvery. Our food was very nice indeed. And was served in no time at all. The staff were very polite and very helpful from entry down to exit. The children particularly enjoyed the play area outside that was very clean and very safe complete with benches to watch children at play. There was ample seating outside to give the option to eat lunch next to the beautiful water. After we dined we walked next to the water and over the bridge next to the canal to show the children the barges.

Had a great family meal for my birthday. Staff was welcoming and Accommodating to myself and the children. Everyone enjoyed the food Thank you
k. b.
very nice family pub reasonable prices carvery is lovely would defo go again

Went for a carvery on Sunday and the food was great with a good choice of veg and really well cooked meats. Two days later we returned to celebrate a birthday and the carvery veg was dry, overcooked and looked like it had been there since Sunday. We also ordered off the menu and the fish had a hard crust that could have been used by Amazon for packaging, one piece of fish was only half battered and was seriously dry and tough, whilst the sausage was undercooked and swimming in grease. We won't be going back.
J. M.
Brilliant food, always good quality. Can get very busy on Sunday’s and bank holidays but we’ve never had a problem getting a table. Nice little kids area but could do with a bit of love and a few more activities. Would be nice to see colouring sheets and crayons provided for little ones too.
M. H.
All the staff was very helpful and very friendly.food was excellent . love this place
T. M.
Such a great place to eat, the staff are amazing. They do various homemade cakes that are just out of this world. Marz Attack is one of there cakes, full of chocolate. The carvery s is amazing but....it does get busy, really busy. They actually ran out of roast potatoes when we were. You need to book too, as I say, they get really busy. But it's a good meal and it's not that expensive.
P. D.
The staff are very polite and helpful, meal are great you don't want to waste to long when you order thanks to all the staff xx
P. B. C.
Friendly staff and great food, all wrapped up in a very pleasant environment.
C. 0.
Only ever had carvery here so can't comment on anything else but the carvery is nice, well priced and good selection of meat and vegetables. Puddings look great. Service a little slow at the till, never seems to be many staff on the till but always friendly.
J. P.
1st time I've been and it was bloody lovely , would deffo go again yum yum
c. g.
Very nice meal. Polite staff but their waiting on skills need attending and in particular their dress. I don't think staff wearing ripped jeans or chefs showing their underwear with trousers resting on the top of their thighs is a very good impression to make make when in the service industry.
A. K. (.
Best carvery restaurant in Nottingham. Great choice of veg and the meat is always moist and tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful even when the place is packed. Decent facilities for families with small kids too. Just finished a large platter here and I don't think I'll be able to move for the rest of the day. Excellent!
F. C.
Carvery was lovely, as we're desserts and staff were friendly. Downsides were that my plate was dirty on the underside, the cauliflower was cooked, yet stone cold in the centre, there are far too few disabled parking spaces and there was a lot of food/rubbish on the floor under and around the table
R. D.
I'm a travelling salesman who was staying in the hotel next door. I spent 3 nights having my tea and a few pints here. The service has been fantastic. Josh & Alex have been great, they have been really friendly and made me feel welcome whilst visiting. I'm looking forward to my next visit!. Well done you two its been great thank you! P.s best wishes with your PHD Alex!
S. P.
Big fan of the carvery, just make sure you go at the right time.
Too busy means long queues for carvery and they run out of stuff.
Too quiet and the veg looks like it's been left out under the heat lamps for hours, not very appetising.
It's really nice, but it's just getting a good time.
D. J.
We had a family meal for 21 people, staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
All meals delivered on time even though we did not all have a Carvery
Well done Riverside for coping with such a large number of people so efficiently as not many places can do this
A. G.
Went into the children’s eating area , a family left such a mess on the floor under and around a baby high chair ! Disgusting!
The waitress cleaned a small amount up ... but by no means all . And under other tables and chairs there were peas and other food items and cutlery, the waitress made no attempt to clean here , just pushed the chairs under the table .... such a shame !
I suggest the owner invests in a long handled brush and dust pan!
However the small carvery meal was delicious, and good clue at £4:99.
G. J.
I'm not a big fan of eating out, but the few time's that I have been to the Riverside Farm, I found it clean & they have a small play area for small children inside so that the adults can finish their meal and still keep eye on the kid's.
A. S.
Exceptional service! Carvery was really nice! They've also got some great cakes and ice creams!
V. O.
Stumbled across this place today (not a local).
Wasn't expecting much, but visited as it was convenient and reasonably priced.
However impressed. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Carvery was yummy. Nice meats, good choice of veg (one of best ever seen) and lots of gravy (I like a lot). All was hot and tasty.
Enjoyable visit.
J. R.
We arrived really late so service was about to end (9pm), but if we had ordered we were told we would have to wait an hour. Obviously we didn't want to wait so we had chose the carvery which is a great way to get an instant meal. It was good food, but probably not what I'd have chosen if time wasn't an issue. The service was good enough although a short queue seemed to take a long time to go down. I guess it was mainly the time of night. Would recommend but get there a bit earlier than 21:00.
G. F.
The breakfast is absolutely fantastic! Fresh - tasty, not cheap ingredients! Pleasant surrounding, very clean, great table service, would have given 5 stars but...... Customer service on the till was shocking! Charged the wrong amount - twice! Not a friendly lady taking my hard earned money! Just a smile and a greeting would be nice! As a business owner myself I know how important great customer service is, I believe she may have "judged my book by it's cover" I went for my breakfast after - visiting a car boot sale, so I wasn't dressed to thrill :) she looked at me and my party through her nostrils! Which really did not impress me at all! ........then after we paid for a large breakfast - she did not hand a receipt to us - and shouted to the chef - they have paid for large plates but give them small ones? Blatantly in front of us, I was confused...... Seriously confused as I was nothing but polite! I raised the matter with the management, he was professional and swiftly reimbursed the difference. I have NEVER left a negative comment-comments but I felt very mis - treated.

After leaving the Havester (in a very bad mood) after a very bad experience. We came here. It was busy was told a 5 minutes wait to be seated (No problem and it was less then 5 minutes). We ordered our food it arrived hot and was delicious. The waitress who served us apologised for the wait and couldn't do enough for us. I will be returning and trying the carvery as that looked so yummy 😁. I left feeling so much happier 😁
I just one complaint NO SALAD CREAM !!!!😞
G. p. h. g.
Visited for lunch with my daughter in August. The service could not be faulted very covid secure. I had the best carvery and my daughter had pizza. We will definitely be returning
H. G.
Went Sunday afternoon about 5pm, was still extremely busy. Three of us had a carvery, one of us ordered off the menu which wasn't a problem bas by the time we had queued for fifteen minutes for our carvery our menu order had arrived. Great selection of meat and vegetables, couldn't fault it, great value for money.
M. C.
Had food off menu (i.e. not the Carvery). Found food to be excellent in quality & portion size, although of the 'out-of-a-bag' Beefeater/Harvester style. Service very good & prices reasonable.
One nice touch was the board with instructions just inside door, telling you how & where to order, etc. Much better than some places where you are left to gormlessly wander about.
So good was the meal, we returned the next morning for the breakfast. Again excellent and stunning value at £2.99 (@14/7/18)
S. D.
Great food +service was quite good, didn't sample those cakes but will be back
S. R.
We go and always go back. But today I had a carvery, the beef wasn't fatty. Sometimes you can go to other carvery places and the beef can be fatty. But it was lovely today. Definitely recommend this place. We've never had a problem here. No matter how many times we go
N. H.
Always enjoy going to eat here would go again
S. W.
Not been since you first opened many years ago, our first meal wasn't great, hence our reluctance to return. We passed and popped in today with a fantastic welcome from 3 staff including one of the chefs and laura who was so lovely We had a brilliant carvery, great display of food and puddings. Spotless restaurant. We will be back again very soon. X
S. S.
Good value for money food, but totally self service when opting for the carvery option. No option to book, so it can be hit and miss when you're looking for a table. The sauce and gravy containers seemed a little dirty, and would therefore benefit from being refreshed on a more regular basis.
M. A.
Loved the place been coming for years and especially for family birthdays I can't fault them.
B. A.
Too good and lacking of certain things. The meals aren't expensive but sometimes it's lacking on quality like fresh salad for the carvery. Good play area for children and nice welcoming staff. A bit more hygiene in the toilet area would be a great idea
D. D.
Fantastic. We arrived almost too late for breakfast although I didn't realise. The manager and staff treated us like we were the first customers of the day. Nothing was too much trouble. And the food was piping hot and lovely. Can't praise them enough.
B. M. (.
A really lovely family pub, with a great, economical Carvery section. Sometimes it gets quite crowded (Travelodge adjoins) but the staff are very quick. Once or twice it's been hard to get a table due to group reservations, but it's generally okay. Big Children's section and outdoor seating. They also serve breakfasts and "Cake-away."
S. S.
This pub and carvery was functional, clean, and the staff are friendly. The food was fine, and they had two vegan options. I did spy an ice-cream counter and they mentioned cake. I may return to explore them.
H. P.
Absolutely gorgeous, and catered to vegetarians. Also a bargain and lovely staff. Bake stand is amazing!
B. G.
Lovely place to go with the family when you don't feel like cooking. Prices are reasonable as well
m. t.
Need more staff. The queues to pay for food and then to get carvery were ridiculously long. 20 mins to order and pay. However food was excellent and a reasonable price. Any return visit would definitely not be over the weekend
P. B.
Food was nice with a good choice.
j.
Always great cavery. Cakes are good to
J. R.
Carvery was good overall, would recommend going at a different time of day as we went just as the carvery was closing and all of the food was getting a bit watery by then, but the price is still reasonable for what you get and plenty of other food is available! The bar is well stocked but the blue lagoon slushtail is not like any other i have had and it is rich to call is anything like a cocktail! Only major disappointment being the toilets, they are clean, but are not well looked after with soap dispensers missing, toilet doors with no locks and toilet paper left in rolls instead of being in the dispensers, good food but the bar and toilets leave something to me desired!
A. B.
Rapid service and a decent standard of food. All enjoyed what we had, although only had mains so unable to comment on the rest.
C. H.
Riverside farm has amazing food and service the staff are very polite cant do enough for you
Highly recommend this place
B. H.
Went with family, carvery isn't my thing so ordered salmon off the menu. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. Everyone else had the carvery and to be fair, it did look nice. They all enjoyed it. My dad had a dessert... It was HUGE a massive slab of cheesecake which can be shared with everyone or taken home via their 'cakeaway' service. Back in the day, my dad would have finished it by himself there and then but alas, the cheesecake beat him! So he took it home to finish the following day!
H.
This is my local we have eaten her for years, carvery is normally good but on the odd occasion we have had dirty cups and cutlery. A big issue at this place the under 5s area is over run by older kids which is dangerous my Lo is 2 and because of the lack of staff enforcing the rules of no over 5s older kids are allows to destroy a safe zone for under 5s, I've witnessed small children having to leave the play area due to older kids almost knocking little ones over.
H. H.
The carvery on a sunday is really nice. You have to book in advance as it gets really busy. The atmosphere is great and it is fab food. The cakes are huge and look very tempting x x
A. L.
Great carvery, very nice.
c. d.
Amazing food at amazing prices. Service is outstanding here. It’s my new favourite place.
S. D.
Visited with my partner and was very happy all round, the food was really good and the service was fantastic, we were served by a young lady called Hollie and she couldn’t do enough for us. Will certainly be going back and will have to try one of the huge slices of cake on offer too.
S. Q.
Nice enough, it's your standard pub grub at really low prices.
P. W.
Nice place to go and eat good price. BUT... the staff are so miserable the one that served me was so unfriendly!!!. But man serving the carvery was very nice and very professional. Not a very nice atmosphere i didn't feel at all comfortable eating my food. More training needed i think.
R. H.
Lovely food, whether it be the carvery or off the menu we have never had a bad meal here. The carvery is always on and have always had plenty of veg to choose from, 3 meats to choose from and now they even do a huge square yorkshire pud option. Riverside farm also have a good selection of ice creams and cakes for pudding. The cakes are huge and can be taken away if you cant manage to finish it in one sitting. There is a large area to sit with children which contains a play area too to keep them entertained during your visit. It is busy most of the time but generally not that busy you cant get a seat and have to wait for ages to get your dinner.
T. M.
I had a delicious breakfast with my friend. Lots to choose from. The staff were friendly and welcoming too.
P. S.
Had carvery before & it's very good. This visit we all had different things on main menu & were all very pleased! Good portions & friendly service! Went Monday lunchtime & was quite quiet! Lovely!!
L. J. L.
I loved this place, the food on the couple of occasions I ate there was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful, i would definitely come and dine here again, the carvery was massive 🙂🥰
M. W.
Friendly staff and the carvery is amazing. Definitely get your money's worth
C. U.
Dinners great. The breads amazing! It's so soft! But the winner here is the puddings. They are huge! And defeated pretty much all of us who went there for a Christmas meal. The only reason I'm not passing this with 5 stars is that certain members of staff are terrible. Poor attitude. It's meant to be can do, not won't do because I cant be arsed.
Apart from that. Great pub that's perfect if you've got kids.
D. O.
Best Carvery around, lovely people, great food. Can order a takeaway as well and the food is just as good!!
R. H.
A decent place to bring younger kids for a family meal. The food was solid pub fare, and the play area was a bit small, but did allow for the kids to run around - most of the toys required money to make them “go”, but my 2yo didn’t mind and was happy to clamber all over them and run screaming around with the other kids. Service was fast even though it was a crowded Sunday.
C. S.
Good value food and easy parking.
R. Q.
Nice carvery with good price
T. W.
Had my son's birthday meal here, staff were excellent and food was fantastic, so much so were ordering our carvery dinner for takeaway today, would recommend to all.
N. T.
For a Travelodge carvery this isn't too bad. Location with garden overlooking the Trent (unfortunately via a road, but there we go) and the interior is perfectly fine. Limited range of ales. The carvery offers a really good veggie mushroom pie and is reasonably priced. Plenty of decent veg and sides, and a salad bar that can vary from plentiful to a bowl of croutons. Selection of spuds is great and gravy is scrummy. Imposing selection of desserts! No real atmosphere as it's mainly travellers on business eating alone. However, not bad for a group trip and the company will make it. Food is well-cooked and well-replenished. Service is average and occasionally slow.
F. H.
Fabulous tasting food. I tried the ploughman's salad for a change and it was lovely. The desserts are also amazing
E. J.
Carverys are nice here but i prefer the breakfasts. Had a full breakfast and it was lovely. You help yourself to tea, coffee and toast so can have as much as you want and the sausages are very tasty. Definitely recommend for breakfast as well as carvery.
G. J.
Very nicely kept establishment. Large, with plenty of room. Quite an extensive menu and reasonable prices with some deals. Nice meal and drinks before going to the cinema nearby. Will go again. Impressive looking carvery.
J. B.
Excellent meal. Carvery is yummy and a good choice of veg or salad to go with well cooked meat. Husband had a steak which was also very good. Staff very pleasent and helpful particularly Tom one of the management team who was so obliging and efficient . Definately recommend.
G.
I went on a Saturday lunch time and it wasn't too busy which was good. Plus there was a childrens entertainer which was great! The downside was that the carvey wasn't great, the potatoes were dry and the veggie option was gross! Although there was a large choice of foods and reasonably priced.
R. G.
It's ok but for some reason the veg isn't very warm. It must be a company thing because it's the same at holly tree farm as well. It's fine if you have something off the menu, just the veg in the carvery. Go for the veg at the back.
R. H.
A large pub run by a chain with the usual pub grub and also a carvery. Nice, friendly staff and not too a wait to order the food. I had a small carvery and it was a fair size and good value.
There's space to sit outside, although it looks out on to the ring road. Inside is cooled and it seems popular with retired people and parents with small kids.
They offer a 'cake away' service, where they'll box your dessert. Be warned, they're large portions! :-)
M. F.
Came down for breakfast and some of the items had gone and they were struggling to get more out, waiting 5 mins for hash browns and egg. Thought I'd go grab a table and a coffee while I wait, low and behold no cups. Asked at bar and was told there in the pot wash be 5 mins, went back got a large breakfast devoured it and still no cups.
Poor service although staff were quite friendly and food was good when eventually got it.
S. C.
Food excellent, but waiting time between courses was too long. Only 1 waiting on for almost 30 . Everything pre-ordered and paid for. 4 different starters available and each came out together. By the time 3rd was being served 1st was finished, 2nd done before last choice served. Plates for the main course we're small and consequently by the time that meat and Yorkshire pud was served there wasn't much room for the veg. Ok I accept it prevents waste but is also unappetising when veg has to be piled on top of meat. Sweet course wasn't brilliant with lack of custard initially to accompany the Christmas pudding and the vegan option hadn't thawed. Vegan ice cream was served and the chocolate cherry torte brought in containers to take home. No spoons were available until asked for to eat the soup or for the sweet course. Over 2 hours for the 3 courses was excessive. Some people had to request sweet course to take away as needed to leave .
R. M.
Just had a carvery it was really nice but can ear another thing I'm absolutely full up
D. R.
This is a really nice carvery - they have loads of meat and veggie options and they also seem to do desserts. I've not had dessert here but they looked pretty good. Staff is nice and helpful
d. u.
Been to this pub lots of times for lunch and evening meals so thought we would give breakfast a try. Never again, rude staff not very helpful. This has made us think again about our choices when going for meals or drinks
L. H.
Reserved a table here only to arrive & be told we have 1hr to eat.. It was ram packed so getting our orders in & eating in time was chaos. Besides that the food is delicious & the takeaway cakes are amazing :)
A. B.
good food - friendly service lovely atmosphere - what more could you want - we'll be back again 😊😃
M. D.
Very good choice of food here and real ale and soft drinks. Can't go hungrey here, they have a warm roast on during the week which is really nice with warm gravy too. It has free parking only if u are eating here.
I. T.
Food was amazing. But I chose this place for the kids indoor play area. Only to find that the only activities suitable for my 6 year old son involved the use of £1 coins. Most of these machines were out of order. Everything else was for toddlers. There was a tv in the kids area too which was turned off for some reason. It's half term and they weren't prepared for it with only 3 staff to manage the bar, waiting and customer service. Meaning the staff had no time to talk to their customers. I don't mean a full on converstation. But if I want to discuss the menu I should be able to without rushing.
A. P.
Great pub with a large selection of food. Amazing carvery for a fair price and drinks are a good price too.
The pub has a dedicated family area as well, this keeps you away from any loud children.
B. S.
A very pleasant surprise. Although very busy this roomy pub supplied us with more than ample, tasty meals. Staff were obliging and our seating was good. Will more than likely return.
K. A.
Booked a table for a large group, but when we arrived, we were sat in the hot sun. Asked to be moved and were quickly relocated to a shady spot. Food was great! Desserts were amazing. Prices were fair.
R. 2.
Get in there early if you're going at a weekend. We arrived at 12.30 and the queue was backed up to the door. There was no seats available so we were asked to wait. 20 mins later our table was ready so we got in the dreaded queue. It takes half an hour to get to the food so u better stack up your plate otherwise you will have a very long wait if you want more later. As for the puddings....Well they're massive. Order those early aswell because they take ages to get ready and the queue for the deserts crosses the queue for the food. Brilliant planning There,NOT. So the food is ok and the price is just above what I think it's worth. £1 less per dinner and then this place would be spot on for price.
P. O.
Lovely carvery at reasonable price. Only criticism is that it was busy but only one person behind the bar so had to wait a few minutes to be served, even though I was the only one at the bar.
d. B.
Usually an excellent meal but today the veg on the carvery was not up to the usual standard
s. f.
great place for the kids. they have a play area. we always get the carvery and never had a bad one. if u want to find a place that your kids can go and play while u eat and watch this is the place for u. i been going here for the last 5 years. they also have the best cakes around. lordsaints
C.
Lovely food and staff. Portion size was huge and great value for money. Massive cakes and added bonus you can take them away as there was no way i could fit the cake in as well as dinner
C. G.
Good wholsome food. Food hot abd very reasonably priced for a Sunday carvery
w. T.
Ist visit, waiter dropped my lunch on floor and I was then served a coffee with no coffee. 2nd visit we ordered desserts, waited 15 minutes so went back to till, they had forgotten and so we had to get our money back. Place was clean enough and staff were polite though. Food on the whole is good value.
P. S.
Arrived today around 1.15. As there were 6 of us we looked around for staff to allocate a table. Unfortunately there was no one, so we found a spot and put 3 tables together that were side by side anyway.
It took 30mins queuing to get the carvery and (by the time my friend got there most of the selection had run out) and at least 30mins queuing to order other meals.
It took an hour for 4 meals to arrive and another 15 mins for 2 more, at which point (there was a unnecessary and rude comment from the member of staff saying as he walked away, not realising I heard him as he walked past, " you moved tables that's why it's late".... Hmm.. we didn't make any reference of it being late. Anyway apart from this...... The food is okay and the fish in batter was lovely.
We did realise it was busy and waited patiently, but for the size of the the place and a weekend the staffing level was very low which seemed to cause this situation.
R. B.
Standard seem to have dropped I've had better service and better meals in the past
S. S.
We just nipped in for a carvery which was hot and filling. Place was just your typical family pub with a little sort of play area. Nothing special but also nothing wrong anything The service was efficient and polite so no problems at all.
T. T.
Great carvery and a wide selection from the normal menu. Good selection of drought ales. Staff very friendly. Definitely worth another visit.
E. D.
Apart from the whole place having the heating set to tropical, we were in a group of about 15, half of whom had finished their main courses before others were served. And caypso coffees so bad they had to be replaced. Not in love with the place!
S. P.
Carvery served till 9pm every day. Vast selection of cakes and ice cream. Many sitting areas which accommodate couples, and families, there is a big children playing area too.
T. S.
Very nice lovely meal very welcoming staff top rate i will go again
B. T.
It was ok i had Carvery the rest potato's where burned and hard but the beef was amazing we had a pudding witch took around 40 minutes to arrive spoke to three members of staff including the manager who didn't help at all then the staff member that was looking after out table came over to see us and sorted it straight away i wish I could remember her name as she was the best member of staff in the end she gave us an extra pudding as an apology we have used this restaurant on several occasions before and its been fine so it was hopefully a one off.
f. t.
Very friendly service, food was ace and very good value for money. Would recommend to any one .
J. J.
Food was excellent and staff very friendly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
P. N.
Great breakfast staff were lovely nice little play area for grandson too
R. L.
Lovely meal and plenty of it, choice of carvery or menu, definitely recommend
S. D.
Great food staff and service
C. P.
We stayed in the travelodge next door and arrived late (8.30) but were pleased they were still serving food until9pm. We had our dog with us so sat outside, pleasant enough in the beer garden apart from there were food plates on other tables that hadn't been cleared and weren't cleared all the time we were there and they were attracting flies!
M. T.
Amazing place. Stunning value for money. Eggs Benedict to die for at £2.99 and a free coffee. The dish was eggs, bacon, muffin and perfect sauce. Go there just for that. From what I could see the Full English is a banquet.
A. G.
I must admit I enjoyed the carvery when I called with my wife and daughter, I have been before, a long time ago and I didn't really enjoy the meal at all. But this time the meal was very good, and I will call again tomorrow, and see if it's as good as the last time.
C. *.
Nice pub with freindly staff and good food
M.
I come here a lot with my son and I’m never disappointed. We arrived late for the carvery and there was no meet left. We were so disappointed but then Hollie (the duty manager) brought us pigs in blankets to eat while waiting for our order :-). So great :-) thanks Hollie
j. B.
Unfortunately not as good as usual, staff talking rather than serving while people waiting and the carvery pigs in blankets were hard and barley warm and the veg was dry ( it was 6.30pm) so I was slightly disappointed but will go again to see what it's like next time as I am usually pleased.
S. S.
Friendly and inviting place. Come here for the carvery when I'm traveling to Nottingham. The beef is usually a bit tough and could do with an extra hour in the oven but the turkey is usually nice.
Friendly staff, plenty of parking and not usually rowdy.
S. N.
Six of us had meals today, one carvery and the others off the menu. Have to say all the meals were excellent and we had no complaints. Will definitely visit again.
H.
Best carvery I've had in a while. Plenty choice of vegetables being refilled all the time and also not under cooked. Meat very tender and tasty.
E.
Carvery was very nice. Food fresh and hot. Only one server so very long queue but he was very friendly even though under pressure. Not very festive feel. Cake stodgy
C. C.
I took my mum here today and the food was great, service was excellent and a staff member in particular called Andy was fantastic. Very polite and his service skills were on point. Definitely will be returning... 😁
M.
Great food most of the time and always a great place to bring children for a meal. Prices are on the high side but most of the time its worth it. Waiting times at the bar can be very long though. Overall it's a great place to go for a meal or a few drinks!
N. S.
Great value for money, Great selection on the carvery
D. T.
Nice food bit of a wait at the bar to order but otherwise ok . No peas which was a bit of a problem for 2 non veg eaters. Otherwise good selection. The cakes are huge !!! Good value
B. G.
This is the best carvery I've been to. The service was good and the food was nice. More choice on the menu than most carvery places
K. M.
Lovely food. The service was spot on. I would gladly go there again.
B. F.
The carvery is great - my only issue was that the crust of the giant Yorkshire pudding was very hard and dry. I loved the fact that you can take a gravy boat back to your table though!
K. B.
A very nice friendly lady from Blythe who lived upstairs served us for breakfast which was lovely we then went back for coffee, cake and delicious ice cream and again she served us nothing was too much trouble, thank you.
R. H.
The food is good value.
Large parts of the restaurant are accessible for both wheelchairs and crutches.
They offer a marketing email which regularly has vouchers.
D. R.
Has a Sunday carvery here today having decided an estimated wait of 90 minutes at the Colwick Toby was too long. We were seated immediately on arrival although it took a while to place our order at the bar and the lady who took the order isn’t going to win any charm awards.
Carvery was fine and good value. If you do order the extra cost pigs in blankets make sure they actually put them on. They missed them on both our lates until pointed out (and what is it with carveries charging extra for pigs in blankets these days? They seem to be adopting a Ryanair pricing strategy).

Despite being very busy, we got a table straight away. The Carvery was excellent as per usual, only thing let it down (for me) the vegetables were undercooked but that's just my preference.

Breakfast was nice and good price. Just a shame I was left standing around when I walked in had to ask, do I help my self first she said no I need to pay first but no one was around so had to wait. Staff could do with a friendly face and smile

Great outdoor area. Vegan options. Manager was lovely and incredibly generous, all of the staff were really lovely and a good laugh. 10/10

Food was decent. Opted for main menu rather than waiting in the horrendous line for the carvery! Staff were excellent though cannot fault them

Convenient place to eat for work lunch break as it's located on the edge of our business park. Good price for value, just got a bit busy around the holidays and they seemed unprepared and it felt a bit chaotic.

My favourite carvery within the Nottingham area. Always a seat within my preferred area (near the kids play area ) as I tend to avoid peak times. Reasonable price and good value for money.

Good food, amazing deserts and ice cream shame about the machines in the kids area It spoilt it for me xx

Excellent value. Best roast beef I have had in a restaurant

Standard carvery pub. Decent prices, decent food. What you'd expect.

Good carvery. Service on the slow side at 5pm. Items allowed to run out. People following us needed to ask for items to be replenished. Used this restaurant bad Shepherds at Cotgrave was flooded.

Excellent food and customer service the carvery is delicious although I picked to much and ended up taking it with me. Along with a slice of carrot cake.

You get thick slices of any of the roast's on the day , they have a larger display of various & mixed vegetables , plenty of condiments , different super duper desserts , excellent staff at hand , beautiful atmosphere , dont feel cramped in .. well maintained & clean furniture to sit upon , excellent service .

Lovely food, very kid friendly and oh my goodness the portions are massive!

Carver was nice but veg to hard and fruit salad was disappointment as was one table spoon of tin fruit which is not advertised on menu

Party of 18 of us went for my grandsons 1st birthday each and every one of us enjoyed the evening staff fantastic. Meals amazing and the little ones enjoyed the play area well done
M. A.
Standard carvery fair, would say it is on par if not better than a Toby. The cake slices are blooming huge, so would suggest a helping hand with it. As a big chap like me struggled.

Visited late in the day...most staff friendly and smiley..just one young lady who took our food order who looked like she would rather be elsewhere...he guy who served the meat was 1st class...roast potatoes were atrocious...rock hard and dried up...being late in the day is no excuse... every thing else was fine ....I would visit again.....earlier in the day for fresher food

Food was nice, although it was way too busy for the size of the place. We had booked online, yet when we arrived, we were told that the booking system didn't work, and we would have to wait. As this was a birthday meal, it was a bit of a let down, although we only had to wait 10-15 mins for a table. Staff were friendly, and the prices were reasonable.

Really nice food, loads for your money and friendly staff

Love this place. The carvery is the best one in Nottingham . Staff are friendly. No matter how busy, you get served at the bar quickly with politeness. Family friendly.

Low cost carvery excellent Cheesecake
We go here for the carvery, parking is free, good bar and facilities. We take a slice of Cheesecake home between us.

Meat was delicious, veg was disappointing

Food is absolute middle of the road fair.
Desserts however are oddly exceptional, be it dairy ice cream from a counter or quite incredible cakes. Added bonus: takeaway cake.
C. G.
Excellent food at a great price. Not too busy weekday lunchtime.
Would recommend the desert's as they are home made on site and delicious
D. F.
Lovely food I would recommend.

Had food off menu (i.e. not the Carvery). Found food to be excellent in quality & portion size, although of the 'out-of-a-bag' Beefeater/Harvester style. Service very good & prices reasonable. …
M. B.
Unlimited breakfast was amazing. Really good food. They could do with a better toaster its habit slow
J. P.
A very reasonable pub with a good selection. I had the steak and a glass of wine which was tasty and well presented. 20 quid so reasonable value.
J. H.
Called for a breakfast, excellent food and plenty to go at. Definitely recommend and would go again.

Six of us had meals today, one carvery and the others off the menu. Have to say all the meals were excellent and we had no complaints. Will definitely visit again.

Nice food bit of a wait at the bar to order but otherwise ok . No peas which was a bit of a problem for 2 non veg eaters. Otherwise good selection. The cakes are huge !!! Good value

Very good choice of food here and real ale and soft drinks. Can't go hungrey here, they have a warm roast on during the week which is really nice with warm gravy too. It has free parking only if u are eating here.
