K. P.Me and my friend had a phenomenal experience dining at this bar, sitting on comfortable chairs at a classic wooden table! The pattern on the surrounding floor is dreamy and there are frames on the walls, displaying beautiful artwork. Old fashioned lights on the ceiling add to the atmosphere and when we visited, the bar had cleanliness maintained throughout. We were massively lucky in being able to get a two for the price of one cocktail deal, enjoying ourselves a smoothly-mixed long island iced tea each! The meals were delivered in due time themselves; I had a fish finger wrap with chunky chips, finding this to be a delicious, unique meal.

C.We took part in the cocktail masterclass on Saturday with Hannah and I just have to say what a credit to The Slug & Lettuce she is - so bubbly and cheerful she really made the experience one we won't forget. She was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, the cocktails were super and the games hilarious. We couldn't believe the amount of food we received, we were expecting a little nibble but ended up with almost a full meal each with a bowl of nachos and a plate of chips between each pair of us, great value for money and Hannah made the experience even more fun for us. A. 1.Been here previously and as usual the food & atmosphere was great and the interior was as pretty as ever. However the customer service is absolutely appalling. We booked a table for 19 of us, the table only sat 15 so a few of our party had to stand at the bar instead of being able to join us and they told us we’d have about an hour & 1/2 at the table before they needed it back (fair enough). However we’d been there about an hour when they said we should think about getting ready to leave and we were still waiting for a few meals and drinks we’d ordered about 20 minutes earlier. The drinks had been made as we could see them on the bar, they’d been there about 10 minutes and we watched the waitresses walk by them about 7 times, even watched one go to take them then put them back down and walk over to where 3 of the others stood laughing and chatting instead of seeing to customers. My dad ended up going to the bar after about 15 minutes of watching our drinks sit there and asked if they were ours to which they’d replied they’d just been done which we knew was a lie as we had watched them sit there since they’d been made. Very annoyed when they finally brought the drinks over as they said they need the table back in 5 minutes, found that very rude as we had waited ages for our drinks and the waitress was very dismissive when we tried to take it up with her. If you order at the bar, you get your drinks straight away however if you order at your table via the app be prepared to wait 15 minutes for your drinks as the wait staff cannot be bothered to bring them over, keep an eye out and if you see your drinks ready at the bar go and get them yourself.

The doormen were brilliant and managed to shut down this right and move it outside quickly.

Music was a smidge loud for dancing and talking to people at the table but that's just my personal opinion.

l. M.Went in for drinks on a Saturday night, very busy at the bar. Service was good & I got served reasonably quickly despite this. We went the following morning for breakfast, it was very clean & service was professional, polite, courteous and all round very good by our waitress. The breakfast tasted so nice & great value. Definitely what we needed after drinking the day before. My only gripe is I didn't know that cocktails are 2 for 1 anytime, had I have known this I would have had one night before but like I say this is no one's fault on the night/day but perhaps some posters would help? Apologies if I missed the posters etc, like I say it was very busy. Thanks again for the fab brekkie & service .

L. W.Really disappointed with our meal this evening… no we didn’t complain at the time because we couldn’t get anybody’s attention but when our food arrived it looked very sorry for itself. Chicken wings and goujons to start, not even a bit of dressing for the plate to make it look appealing. Then the burger which although I asked for no pickle or onion, again arrived with nothing to make it look good, no lettuce on the burger and the bacon had to go back to be recooked as it was barely shown the griddle. The fish & chips again didn’t look great but were actually tasty. Sorry to say that it wasn’t the best of experiences for a Slug & Lettuce.

R. H.Trendy nightspot with a few problems. First impressions were good this is a large airy bar with an open front onto the pedestrianised Forman st. Giving the place a continental feel. We met as a group here for a friend's Stag night. Now this is where things go downhill. The wait at the bar was phenomenal it took about fifteen minutes to get served. There were plenty of staff behind the bar but this is a Cocktail bar so drinks took a long time to prepare. I just needed a pint of lager and was £5.25 (the price in our second bar of the evening was £3.50) a little expensive. We were stood chatting just to the side of the bar, when a rather rude member of staff came up to us and said " You'll have to move now I need this area". This made me feel uncomfortable and was happy when we moved on. Would I recommend The Slug and Lettuce Nottingham? For a group of ladies out on a Hen night or Birthday drinks who don't mind waiting for a while perhaps. But if you just want a quick drink keep walking there are many good bars and pubs in Nottingham this is Not one of them.

N. E.I really enjoyed eating out here! My waiter was extremely generous and was deserving of a tip without a doubt. We were sat down promptly, given our drinks, and our food was out in no time, even with it being so busy in the evening. I wasn't expecting anything other than a place to eat, but my experience here was really great and I'd love to return. I'd expect a restaurant of this quality to be more pricey, but it's great value for money :)

J. W.The place was very busy and took ages to get a table but it was a Saturday evening leading up to Christmas so to be expected really. We had to ask more than once for some menus so we could order and even after they arrived we still had to go looking for the kids menu.
Once we ordered the food came fairly quickly and wasn't of a bad standard. Nothing too flashy but nice enough.
I'd go again but probably not on a Saturday for food.

On entering you find that this has been recently refurbished so has a fresh look. The menu provides a variety of food style to suit different tastes. I had the British Beef & Chorizo Puff Pie which was delicious along with the asparagus. When you add this to the welcoming and friendly staff who despite being very busy were efficient. The only downside was the noise generated by a very full restaurant.
d. j.Went to the Slug & Lettuce Nottingham late in the afternoon about 17:30 and it was quite quiet, but at that time it was expected. All of the public areas were clean and the tables were cleared and set for more customers.
The staff I had dealings with were friendly, polite and professional. I ordered a Reuben burger and a coke. Normally this would cost around £12/13 pounds. It being a Tuesday, the offer of the day was any burger soft drink or beer for £7.00, this applied to regular burgers, the Reuben is not a regular burger. All hope of getting a good deal were not lost, for an extra £1 I could take advantage of the offer.
The food arrived in a relatively short time and was very tasty, even more so because I had saved around £5.00.

We had a short wait at the bar so I checked out the extensive drinks menu. We were served by a lovely young lady. She was polite, friendly and fast! I decided to have my usual cocktail, a pornstar martini and my husband had a lager dash. I can honestly say my pornstar was 1 of the best I’ve ever had! For round 2 I asked my husband to make sure he went back to the same bar tender which he did. He also found out her name was Leanne. My second pornstar was just as good as the first, my husband even opted to try a cocktail that she recommended - an old fashioned. For round 3 I decided to try a strawberry daiquiri. We asked Leanne to make it and again it was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Slug that evening, we highly recommend it and we will certainly be returning.
