V.So we went yesterday for an evening meal, I had the dumpling starter which was very nice but Luke warm barely hot at all which was disappointing.
I had the vegan Mac and cheese, the sauce was very watery and had no cheese flavour what so ever.
The cocktails tho visually impressive were mostly ice. For a £98 bill for 4 people the meal was a bit of a let down.

Easy to order through the app, but the wait time seemed to vary, especially when it came to ordering drinks, we only had soft drinks, so I was unsure why.

We originally went upstairs to sit and have tea but were told this was full booked.... Not one table was taken all night. The food was lovely too.

We visited The Slug and Lettuce on Saturday 24th April. We had been let down by another establishment so we hadn’t booked but decided to queue up at see what happened. We were glad we did! After 5 minutes or so, a waiter came and spoke to us and informed us that there would be a 15-minute wait. We thought this sounded reasonable and agreed. We were happily seated within 15 minutes and were given a 90-minute slot for our meal which we felt was fair and enough time to enjoy our food and drinks.
The attentive waitress who served us even agreed to let us change seats so that we could enjoy a sunnier spot. We had been quite chilly in the shade so we were delighted to move tables.
We were invited to order some drinks and chose to take advantage of the two for one cocktails on offer, opting for a selection of the Raving Rainbow Cocktails, Zombies and a Gin based cocktail. The drinks menu is very extensive and you’ll be spoilt for choice but my favourite of all the cocktails I tasted was the Raving Rainbow Cocktail. This was served in a long glass, with each section of the drink separated into vibrant attractive colours. The ingredients for this cocktail are listed on the menu: a mix of grenadine, passion fruit purée, Midori, Smirnoff Red Label vodka, blue Curaçao and Red Bull Tropical Sugarfree.
The outside menu was more extensive than I had expected. Many bars are offering a very limited menu in post Covid times and so I was pleased to see a good selection available to suit all diets, from Italian favourites such as Lasagna and Gnocci, American style options including stacked burgers and onion rings, sharing platters and light salads through to vegetarian options and the British national favourite – Fish and Chips. It is hearty pub grub with a modern twist and quite satisfying to the palate.
I opted for a rather simple Scampi & chips, a timeless classic. The bar was happy to bring me a side salad to accompany this dish instead of the options of peas which was on the menu. I had expected a rather basic side salad, perhaps with some red onion thrown in for a splash of colour, so it was a lovely surprise when they brought me a rather more impressive side salad which contains the following:
Mixed leaves with a lemon & olive oil dressing, cucumber, onion, avocado, peppers, soya beans and tomatoes, finished with omega and sesame seeds.
It was delicious. The lemon and oil dressing brought out the fresh, crispness of the salad and the seeds added a lovely texture with a nutty flavour. Avocado is one of my favourites and the consistency was beautifully creamy and melted in the mouth.
My chips were just the right combination of fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside, and while the batter on my scampi was just ever so slightly on its way to been a little more cooked than I personally prefer, the scampi inside was still beautifully tender and a joy to bite into.
My companions opted for the brisket burgers with accompanying fries and seemed very happy with their choices. It certainly exceeded my expectations for pub food and I would recommend The Slug & Lettuce to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat of an evening or lunchtime.
Throughout our visit the staff were attentive, friendly and wore a smile. I could see that they were extremely busy as there were many people seated and waiting to be seated, but they did not falter for a moment and were welcoming for the entire duration. Thank you, will see you again.

My issue is the seating arrangement. If you don't have a booth you're forced to sit on cafeteria style seating in the middle of the room. It's a very bizarre layout and was very uncomfortable. You're very exposed being sat in the middle of a huge expansive space with all these booths of people surrounding you. They don't have the upstairs open either so you can't relax here unless you manage to nab a booth.
Wouldn't go back.

E. B.Went to the Slug and Lettuce tonight for work drinks. Very nice place, but very, very slow service. There seemed to be a lot of staff behind the bar, but not all of them were serving. I ordered 2 cocktails (part of the 2-4-1) on the app for table service and it took ages, over 30 minutes. It was the same at the bar. Because it took so long, people were ordering multiple rounds which then took ages to do and that just made the situation worse. Very nice venue, but service could be better.

I had avocado with poached egg and bacon on toast. Would recommend. My friend had a vegetarian breakfast which was decent too. The decor is really really nice in there. Super instagramable.
