Nice clean pub with bright decor.
Food was delicious and well presented, tho there were no rumps left I had to opt for another dish. The staff are friendly and helpful with a smile.

P. J.Disappointed with food. Had nachos which were horrendously salty. The macaroni cheese was also extremely salty. Son had a Quorn hot dog which looks very basic but he did like it. He liked his cookie pizza though.

C. S.We visited pre-Christmas for a family gathering of 7, most of us travelling 170 miles from every direction. We were made very welcome, as was our dog who quickly made friends! It wasn't very busy being mid-week lunchtime so comfortable for chatting. The meals were pre-selected and proved very good, turkey roast, festive burger and cod with mussels featured. All the staff were brilliant and we really enjoyed our visit. Our 2nd visit, the first was probably 3 years ago for a similar party. Some Christmas music rather than random 'pip' would have been nice. Anyway, great job, thanks.

T.Service was fantastic, we were served by Anthony and he was very friendly and helpful. Food was great apart from the cheese on the cheese/bacon fries wasn't very nice at all. Apart from that a great place to have a nice meal!

R. B.Second visit today. After an "alright" service upon first time, I've decided to come in again, give it another try, maybe have something off the breakfast menu.
First visit was a lunch visit, service was slow and I didn't feel that the staff was giving perticularly attention to any table unless the people sat there were in view. Food was decent, nice steak.
Upon second visit, today - I walked in and there was no one out front. After a minute a waitress appeared seemingly surprised of people being in the building.
Asked for a table for 1, she notified me that even tho the pub opened at 11, food wont be served till 12 due to staff shortage. I would have liked to see this advertised somewhere so I dont waste 15min of my tight time to wait for a pub to open to be said then that they wont be able to serve me breakfast for a while.
F.Second visit here at this pub fist time the food and service was all good and second time good service but disappointed by the food ask for medium steak and they give me a very well done steak and looks like was cooked 2 hrs ago they just warm up and put in to my plate that was £14 meal . I ask the waiter if they could make another steak and he told me will take 20 min to cook another steak very disappointed . Really like this place but the attitude from the waiter was very bad .

C.Called in to have a veggie breakfast and must say it was fantastic. The food was cooked by Joe and I enjoyed every bit of it. The venue was bright and extremely clean with clear COVID instructions and safety procedures.
We were servered by Steph who was warm and friendly and couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. Will absolutely go back and can't wait to sample more.

G. E.The food was good and the staff were nice, it's just the little things. My medium steak was clearly medium rare, the chips aren't very crispy and they aren't fulffy either. The batter on the onion rings is soft. But that doesn't affect me much.
d.I can only say good things about this place. The refurbishments have kept the place up to date and shows they are honest about the space. No mirror tricks used here. The steak was a joy to cut and had no fat whatsoever, the babyccino was arranged perfectly with a classic coffee biscuit and I beat the chocolate sharing sundae. Keep up the good work the goose - pub & grill.

Now the bad, been here lots as food usually amazing, sorry not this time, 2adults with me only ate burgers chips in edible, child meal was great especially garlic bread, mine hard as iron and in edible, even when I had a second attempt I was still waiting on the gravy so after 10 plus minutes I just sent it back.
Must say got a medium score as manager was very apologetic and its first time I've ever had bad meal there.
So hopefully next time it'll be back to its usual standard.

f. j.Came here on the 3rd April, Alyssa greeted us with a friendly welcome and shown us to a table. With having a few tables in I could see Alyssa running back and forth not sure if she was on her own as didn’t see anybody else in the restaurant. Our food order was quickly taken and shortly after that our food arrived. Food was lovely, Alyssa then offered us a desert menu, but we couldn’t manage one. She’s a credit to the management team and we will be returning soon. Thank you, Alyssa for your pleasant hospitality.

Waiting times was quick however what was concerning was the constant bitchyness from the staff, all we could hear was the staff complaining about staff who wasn't present that day and putting a time limit on how long someone new will last. It was disappointing to hear as initially it seemed a lovely place to visit.
B. T.Didn't eat there just caught up with a friend for coffee. Coffee was fine. Bar service slow, no one behind bar for 5 mins so waited as staff busied around and until someone came to serve customers waiting at bar. Toilets were very smelly....problem with drains I wonder as they weren't dirty.

C. H.Nice pub with outdoor playground, indoor soft play area, indoor booths with table and a TV screen (that could be seen as a good point or a bad point...). All very nice. The food, however, was a bit uninspiring. I had an 8oz sirloin steak and I wasn't blown away. I like steak and this was fine, nothing wrong with the cooking, just didn't quite hit the mark. I suppose the price ( on the cheap side at £14) reflects this...? Shame. Otherwise lovely place.
B. N.Disappointing first visit back after refurbishment. Service was slow. My main complaint was the chips were just warm and our request of turning out lasagne from hot dish onto plate did not reach the kitchen.
C. G.Usual chain pub fare for the food, but keen prices. The soft play area (£2.50 per child) is good for taking the kids, and you can eat in the same area if you like. There's also some play equipment outside too. The food is not special, but had no complaints, and 4 of us ate and had soft drinks for £25. Staff were helpful and friendly, and there was even a children's entertainer!
A. R.Here with my partner ,daughter and granddaughter. Really enjoyed our meal , nice relaxed setting and reasonably priced. Waitress showed Nylah how to put the order through the till , which she enjoyed. There's a play area for the younger ones , so everything in one place .

We went in as a group and were all served at the same time, the roast dinner on a Sunday was disgusting, rock hard roast potatoes that tasted frozen! And the yorkshire pudding was full of grease, so much so once you pushed then knife against it the grease began to bubble up! I wouldnt recommend this place at all, the only enjoyment was for the kids in the soft play area. :)

Neither is having to ask for a dirty table to be wiped down, especially by a sneering member of staff! We did get a discount as an apology for the food but won't be rushing back.

You should probably leave it a few months while the staff get trained up.

G. C.A popular pub with a large indoor seating area plus a large outdoor seating with a play area for children. It also has the benefit of a wacky warehouse supervised indoor play area where parent's can eat while watching their kids play.

But if you're going to the indoor play area, be aware, there's always lots of bigger boisterous children in there, knocking over and pushing around the little ones, their parents have no idea what they're doing because they're sat in the main room.

G. W.We visited Goose at Gamston a few nights ago for a meal to celebrate my son's birthday. The food was amazing - good portion sizes, really tasty and reasonably priced.
We were looked after by Darren and Lyssa tonight who where great at caring for our every need. They check in with us during our meal and ensured that everything was to standard.
We highly recommend the fish and chips or hunters chicken.
a. m.Ideal location after shopping at Morrisons and ideal if you have a daughter like mine that doesn't want Sunday dinner. We walked in was looked at a few times by staff before putting us on a table. I asked for a small Coke and my daughter had squash I got a large Coke which may have been a good job as it was about an hour before anyone took our food order. My daughter enjoyed her hunters chicken my beef was not the best but the mash and veg were ok. I drove away thinking it looked a great place for kids as built in children's tv and a bit annoyed at paying £2.40 for a glass of squash.

The play area was hectic but again I think that was down to the mix up. Had a burger and chips. T.New refurb very good was starting to look tatty,my food wasn't very warm but still nice,everyone else good,wacky warehouse good,but because they have food and drink,a gripe I have with all these soft play areas is the need to keep on top of hygiene, same in restaurant, where ever u go seats just need a quick hand vac ,and around floor.No good just wiping tables when underneath has previous customers leftovers for all to tread in !!!

S. O.Staff were good, and the actioning of their COVID-19 guidelines was good. Food was standard pub food and nice
T. M.My father Robert and I went to eat at the Goose for our dinner and more importantly my father's 60th birthday! We arrived at the Goose to find that there were no knives and forks on our table. We then asked to order drinks, there was no response. It was extremely cold too and there was a terrible draft. We waited at the table for 4 hours and we recieved no service at all, not even a smile from passers by. It was only then that we noticed we were sat outside. We got up, went to the front door, only to find to find the doors locked. It was at this moment that a frantic goose ran towards us wearing a black T-shirt with the word 'Gurs' written on it. I ran for my life but my father was not so lucky. The goose grabbed my father and got him in a headlock and threw him to the ground.
He passed away later that night.
Thank god I got away.
