Reviews of The Crown

Really nice pub and lovely staff! There's a very young waitress who is working so hard still she's always smiling and ready to help and the guys from the bar were really helpful as well.
I hate mushy peas with my fish and chips but they didn't had an issue change it with garden peas and everyone was so friendly, open and warm. I have enjoyed a tasty fish and chips with tea and my partner had cheesy nachos and a bear and have to mention the portions were big.
Everything was great.

The atmosphere in the pub is very good! The food is also very delicious!
If you come to Oxford, you'll want to stop by again. The staff is also polite and impressive.

A very enjoyable experience tonight at The Crown. My husband and I have been traveling throughout the UK for 2 months. We were recommended to this establishment by a local bartender. We were served at the bar by Angelica, who was delightful and informative regarding the tap beers and menu. The food was tasty and the pub had a good vibe… and we were told that William Shakespeare frequented this place which made it even more fun!

Lovely warm and cosy friendly local pub and restaurant. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and a good size. Great for enjoying a beer and a nice court yard sitting area. Definitely one of the best pubs in Oxford.
I would recommend booking a table, we did just walk in with no booking but it was only by luck we got a table and this was a Saturday.

We only had 2 days in Oxford and stumbled upon this lovely place just having arrived from our home in California. Not too hungry but needed some sustenance and, of course, cider on tap. Excellent cider, fabulous chips and the best garlic bread. Needing dinner the next night, we made our way here. The chicken burger was to die for. Friendly folks and nice vibe, too.

The Crown is a good spot. A lot of history and a dark and warm interior really hit the spot. Ales are decent and there is a good range of craft beers available too. Food is standard pub fare, but is done well. Always worth a return visit.

Unfortunately, the Real Ales I had were both Cloudy which, no decent Real Ale should ever be like that. We didn't eat here as prices are fairly high.

As visitors to Oxford we only popped in for a lunchtime drink and snack. It was suitably sufficient for our needs, the food was good and the bar staff were friendly.
It has a large enclosed courtyard area for outside drinkink/dining, but it was far too hot to sit out there on the day we were there.

Very good food and nice outdoor space.
