Reviews of The Perch

An absolutely wonderful experience dining here. Our waitress went above and beyond to look after us. The food was incredible, with such a lovely backdrop to sit in in the garden and located in a quaint countryside village just a 10 min drive from Oxford city centre. Plenty of choice for people of all diets, definitely something for everyone, and not too steep in price. Can't say enough good things about the place!

Lovely walk along the River Thames across Port Meadow. Called in to The Perch have a refreshing drink in the lovely gardens. Lots of people eating inside and out. Friendly staff - helpful too. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely lunch here. Really friendly and genuine service. Decent vegan options for food (a wine) gorgeous garden and a fab doggo watching spot.

What a surprise!
My boyfriend booked the Sunday roast at The Perch during our small trip to Oxford from London, and, coming from a countryside lover, I straight felt home as soon as we got there.
The restaurant is super cozy, warm, and welcoming, the whole staff was delivering great customer service and I loved to see so many families and dogs enjoining the afternoon.
But the roast pork belly, wow.... Probably one of the best I ever had in my life!
This place is definitely a must to go!

Pretty good food. Big place. Nice staff. Does feel a bit factory-like though. But, good. Small, nice menu. Authentic stuff. Not a lot of beers.

Great garden when the weather is good! Order food from the shed bar - burgers, fries, sausage rolls or scotch eggs - and enjoy the sunshine. Tables are usually clean unless they are very busy. Disposable but recyclable cutlery.

Lovely food, very nice atmosphere.
Good and curtains service. it was very busy on a Thursday lunchtime.
We walked in without booking ahead, still got a table within 5 minutes.

An idyllic country pub only 10 minutes walk from the city centre. However the ideal is to pair the visit with a from wolvecote walking down port meadow and entering via a magical pathway from the river. We really enjoyed our food but only wished my main came with some carbs. If you are visiting internationally make this a stop for dinner while you visit.

This pub location is perfect. On a sunny day I couldn't think of a nicer place to have lunch. It is very popular though, so will probably be very busy.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, property, and overall food selections. As shown photos great starters, dinner, and dessert selections. It is a little pain to get there then get a taxi to go back to your hotel. It is single road in and out. Definitely worth a go!
