I've been running in front of this place for far too long, so I finally decided to give it a try. I went in the middle of the week and wasn't too busy, but still had a lively atmosphere which was really nice. I really liked the general vibe and the staff were all very nice. I ordered through the QR code and went through very smooth. Got a really nice cask ale and the chicken schnitzel. I think next time I might stop there mid-run!
D. K.
Very good pub in a nice area of Oxford. Usually fool of engineering students as it is located opposite of the department. The food is great and I would recommend to sit outside in the garden if the weather is good.

Nice old pub..lots of history back to 1770's
The draft beer is very good.
Rolling stones background music..
M. T.
Decent food. Prices are somewhat higher than average, bit huge portions (enough for two people to share), so overall good value for money. What I found suboptimal was the setting: the place is quite dark, so that at some tables you sort of see your food in black and white, which makes it a bit less appetising (the visuals are important).
A. T.
Nice pub for a group outing as lots of space, you can book a table whether food or drinks, has decent beer and food.
A. R.
Don't really remember that much...they served very bice beer and snacks.. I stayed I bit longer than I should. So much fun.
M. D.
Chicken schnitzel nice, aspall cider nice. Social ambience good for us old professors goes back centuries. I do think they should open up earlier than 12 noon. Each time I come into oxford will make for this place right opposite my bus stop to go home.
M. M.
It was a nice pub yet when I looked at the menu it looked fairly expensive yet when I saw the size of the meal a customer was having I thought it was worth it
T. C.
A warm inviting and friendly pub, in great location, visited with family for a meal as the city was extremely busy. Staff were amazing the manager robyn was friendly and found us a great table next to fire as it was cold and wet, made us feel welcomed in. The food was fantastic quick and easy ordering and our table server new the dishes. The chef Tracey was 2st class and we will definitely be vising again .

well i have not been too the oak in a while but i have too say this is still my favourite watering hole and place for some delicious food. this pub has such great charm along with very accommodating and such friendly staff. always such a great range of drinks with a matching great selection on the menu, my meal on Wednesday evening was cooked too perfection as always. thank you too all at the royal oak for looking after me on my visit.
D. G.
Great local pub. Slightly expensive but good selection of craft beers and great food menu.
J. R.
Had a really nice Sunday lunch at the Royal Oak, friendly service and delicious food! Dog friendly too.
D. M.
Went here for two Christmas socials.
The staff were fantastic and the food was brilliant!
Such large portions for the 3 course meal we were all busting at the seams.
Couldn't be happier!
Thanks Royal Oak!
G. R.
Seldom have I been so generous for what is essentially, a next-gen gastropub. There are two main reasons for this: 1. The weekday lunchtime meal deal, sandwich and a soft drink for £6.95. Their sandwiches are simply di-vi-ne, not to mention beautifully presented; 2. The staff. Knowledgeable, friendly but not annoying-American-style-too-familiar sort of friendly, and knowledgeable. The building, like so many in Oxford, has a distinct history, and is well-worth the short walk from 'centre'. Am looking forward to sampling all of the menu. Watch this space for photos!
May 22 update: First time back since pandemic. The place seems to have improved - if that was ever possible - however the prices are now higher. The lunchtime deal is £9 for the soft drink £11 for the alcoholic drink version. The new menu doesn't really justify that increase, but it's marginally still worth going. But only just. Any further increases would render this as not good value for money

Good variety of beers and cosy terrace, food is alright, nothing out of this world. Best thing? Really helpful and friendly staff👏🏻
C. C.
This is a deceptively large pub considering how cosy it feels, and it also has a modestly sized garden thay could probably hold about 60 people. Due to the way it is laid out, it is good for small and large groups. It has a good range of beers, wines, gin, cider, and soft drinks, and during the winter they have mulled cider and mulled wine, as well as two fire places to drink it by! They also have lots of board to play if you are so inclined. The menu has always been pretty good but I went on the weekend (23rd July 2017) and it had some super tasty things on there. I've attached what is possibly the worst photo I could have taken of the current menu - in my defence, it was really sunny and I couldn't see what I was taking a photo of, but you get the idea. Oh, and the bay Suresh are really friendly too!
P. B.
Excellent beer and food, a building with lots of nooks and crannies which is great for having a get together. Shows rugby in a couple of areas.
C. H.
Really good pub, great atmosphere and lovely staff who made my friend a fantastic mocktail.
A. S.
Nice surroundings for something to eat and drink. The menu is classic pub fayre and there's always a decent selection of real ales to chose from. Great when it's cold and the fire is going.
R. M.
If looking for a cozy pub not far away from Oxford downtown but away enough from the city busy streets, this is a great option. They have two fire places, so great option in winter, nice beers and good food. Great vegan options as well.
J. D.
Goto place for a pint after work or just dinner, not as posh or old school as other places, but a fine pub, not pretending to be anything else!
B. B.
Wonderful pub with fabulous atmosphere. Great staff and reasonable prices for Oxford. Lovely decoration with attention to details and a labyrinthine style. Had a great time! Thank you
S. C.
Great pub and good food. Near city centre and green Templeton college.
H. S. I.
Love the Sunday Roast here. The quality can go up and down depending on the day you visit. Good place for a pint too.
J. B.
Pours a fair pint of Guinness ,not rushed
D. H.
Really welcoming pub in a great location. Food was very high quality, service was excellent and a great experience overall. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great pub in the area.
G. T.
Great food and enjoyable environment, will revisit soon.
R. T.
Visited with a friend for lunch. Very friendly pub, with efficient service. Slight issue with ordering app that you weren't told that food was not available until you tried to order, rather than on the menu page itself.
M. M.
Food was lovely and well portioned albeit a bit more of the lovely salad would have crowned it.
s. m.
The food was outstanding.and the service was great.lovely looking pub inside and out. Really enjoyed looking around and seeing the history of this pub would definitely recommend a visit.
O. V.
Great pub! Fantastic experience.
A. W.
This pub is a lovely venue, and I do keep going back. The lunchtime food menu is decent value, but otherwise stay away from the salads. The mulled wine left a sour taste both literally and metaphorically from the high price for tiny lukewarm mug. Alcoholic drinks are good though, they have a nice selection. Friendly staff too.
L. s.
Staff were friendly. Confused on the government guidance as it's strict as you enter but the rooms are packed with people and very stuffy. I asked one waiter if we could sit on a free table outside and he said there was none available. We could see about 5/6 available so we asked another waiter and he was completely fine with moving us over. Not sure what the bother was. There was a wet spot on the table where the person before us had sat with a pint. Didn't look like the table had been cleaned between customers.
J. D.
Friendly and spacious pub away from the main tourist space with lots of cosy nooks and crannies as well as spaces for larger parties. Tasty modern English menu with reliable veggie and vegan options. Heated and covered garden out front, open and sunny garden out back. Good beers and spirits, open fires in the winter and open doors in the summer. Lovely staff, child friendly, bar service. Occasional invasions by university conferences not usually a problem; mathematicians are typically very polite.
M. B.
Really nice atmosphere. Kind of old worldy with a few modern twists. Good drinks selection. Had the veggie burger for dinner, which was tasty but came by itself without any sides. I thought that was a bit pricey for £12.
K. S.
Great team, great atmosphere, food is always good and it's a lovely old pub tucked away in the nicest part of the city.
T. P.
We visited a few weeks ago for Sunday lunch whilst on a visit to the university. It was very quite when we went in late on the afternoon and there were several of the sides that we tried to order had sold out.
We ordered 4 Sunday lunches with a couple of extra portions of potatoes. When the meals arrived they were very good portions and we really did not need any sides. The food was delicious and tasted freshly cooked. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and will certainly return. Must mention that the staff were both lovely, they did all they could to make us feel very welcome.
M. O.
Only popped in for a half while waiting for bus.
Beautiful old pub with open fires and real ale.
Nice looking menu and unusual beer nibbles on blackboard.
Lots of small cosy rooms so quite intimate seating.
Loved it!
J. E. B.
Food was pretty good, but the staff was quite rude. Went in with a large group and sat at a few tables. We were calm and respectful, but several staff members were curt and rolled their eyes while we ordered. That alone will keep us from coming back.
There are great labels for Vegan and Vegetarian items.
I. K.
Pub located in a convenient place in Banbury road. We have visited the place recently for a quick lunch. The staff was polite, smiley and very helpful. The food was though very average while the beers selection pretty limited. The tables, sofas chairs have seen better days in the past, while the backyard and the open area on the side is definetely a bonus.
J. L.
Average - food not great but good selection of beer.
A. L. S.
A great pub with plenty of outdoor seating.
J. S.
A good range of ales and very attentive and friendly staff.
G. M.
A lovely pub, excellent range of drinks and we found our lunches first rate, the burgers were exceptional and the fried onion rings........to die for!! Not over expensive but not cheap either, in our opinion the prices were about right.
A big bonus, they are also dog friendly if booked in advance, in fact we were allocated a private dining room so that the family hound was happy as well.
Always difficult to find parking nearby but it's Oxford - expect a bit of a walk.
M. Y.
Great place to meet & dine. Dogs are welcome too.
The food was lovely and the service was great.
Our go to place when visiting Oxford.
R. M.
Food was nice but I thought bar man was Rude
J. F.
Beautiful pub with loads of space. Food and drink was great.
S. B.
Cozy and nice pub with a lot of space. Bar staff always friendly as well. However: what happened to the food? A year ago it was tasty, quality food; yesterday we had a burger and the (mushroom/cheese) risotto: the burger tasted stale and the risotto was way to heavy on the cheese. So 5 stars for the atmosphere and cozyness, 3 for the food...
S. S.
Lovely cozy pub in the centre of Oxford. Very popular with academics from the nearby science departments. They have a good selection of beers on tap, cocktails, and hot cider and wine in the run up to Christmas. Outdoor area for smokers and nice place to sit in the summer. Food is nice, but limited vegetarian options. Quite expensive, but not more than other nearby pubs.
M. C.
Friendly staff, great food and ale
S. M.
Spent yet another jolly evening at the Royal Oak. Been visiting fairly regularly for 4 years now - good portions, nice ambience. The mulled cider was disappointing but could have been a one off! Would recommend if you're looking for a lively pub, which doesn't get too noisy!
T. P.
Utterly love this pub for a few reasons:
1) Friendly staff who seem happy.
Unlike some high turnover places, I've often seen the same staff again and again, and they do seem happy and genuine. Have never known them waiver in their professionalism or quick service.
2) Good range of beers AND ciders.
They always have something new, and it hits the spot in terms of taste. Unlike some craft beer pubs: they cover all angles, including the best range of ciders I've found in Oxford. And a good range of spirits + soft drinks.
3) Their sweet potato fries / food.
Sweet potato fries are notoriously easy to overcook, yet they always get them right. Whatever I've tried on the menu is flavoursome and filling.
Two suggestions would be:
A) They need a carpark.
B) A heated terrace / outdoors would be good - something like the one at The Lighthouse on Park End street.
One more point to mention is that I have a political group that meets there and we've always felt welcome. No sneers from staff or customers and a good sense of Hygge in winter.
Have never worked for them / don't know them personally, but one of the best proper pubs in Oxford (quiet enough for a good craic but busy enough to have variety).
V. T.
Very nice typical pub, with two gardens and a typical interior of small corridors and rooms. The beer selection gets updated from time to time, usually a great selection of ales and lagers. Open fire when it's cold, food very reasonable for the price.
B. B.
I'm a local, and I like this pub! It has really improved over the last few years. Large pub in an old building, with lots of little 'rooms' so you can find either private corner for two or a larger area for your party of friends. Low ceilings, some historical features, and you can even drink in their outside areas. Hearty pub food. Bit outside of town centre, but sometimes that's a good thing! Lots of University students use the building opposite, so expect some inside.
L. H.
Nice but service a bit slow despite the pub being mostly empty. The food is good value for money though
K. G.
Really lovely pub in the quieter part of Oxford away from the tourists. The pub itself is lovely and quaint. The beer selection is always good (pint of Doom Bar, please!). I've eaten here a few times and the food has always been good. The burgers are great and the other standard pub fare (fish and chips, pies, sandwiches) are all great. They also do some BBQ and some more exciting options that are good, but not great.
Also, and maybe best of all, they have a quiz on a Monday night that is always fun.
F. F.
A classic pub... Without prise nor infamy. A goos choice for an average night out
D. C.
Good Timothy Taylor, small but pretty good scallops dominated by large slice of chorizo - best eaten separately, good mushroom risotto, fair not great coffee. Others in group said pie good. Maybe not quite as delicious as past Sunday roasts here but worth the price and a good 4 stars. Flower on all tables dead at least 5 days - could be some sort of message, like don't put dead flowers on dining tables or you get adverse comments. Friendly efficient staff but maybe a tad overworked. Would recommend and cheerfully expect an upper 4 or even 5 stars next visits.
H. T.
Nice pub a little out of the main crush of the city centre.
M. J.
Really excellent Sunday Roast. The beef and sides were perfect and plentiful. The food service was especially amazing, delivered hot and fresh (especially important for the side of great chips). The building is full of charm and great sight lines.
S. W.
Nice little old pub, open fire, great selection of food & drinks, and dog friendly too!
p. p.
The Royal Oak is a cosy pub located at a reasonable walking distance from the centre of Oxford. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and I enjoyed my visit. I went there with other people, but it's perfect also for a date or a night out with a dear friend. Beer selection is not the largest but it's enough to make most of the people happy (unless you are very choosy), and food is good. I had mash and sausages, quite a classic, but they had a good variety of other options and a vegan menu. Your wallet won't bleed once you get the bill, prices are ok and the service is good. Worth going back.
T. S.
Pleasant, labyrinthine pub. They usually have good beers on but at a premium price, expect to pay in the region of a fiver for a pint. Bonus points for having no minimum card payment!. The food is quite nice too.
A. M.
Welcoming staff, good food and atmosphere, very dog-friendly🐕❤ and plenty of character. Sea bass was beautiful.
V. V. H.
Have been coming here semi regularly for 8 years. Good selection of beer and food, but bartenders often short the pints. Ask for a top up when that happens. Good garden and bags of indoor seating ranging from cozy corners to great big tables good for groups, but book in advance. Popular with staff from local academic deparments, i.e. physics, and other locals. Decent veggie selection. Loos leave plenty of room for improvement.
L. M.
A maze of a pub with plenty of rooms and nooks to have a drink or a meal. Usually has a good selection of cask and keg beers which do change relatively frequently. Food is generally very good, and priced well too. Not the best for outdoor seating (either on tables by the roadside or on a smallish patio surrounded by a building site) but cosy inside in the winter
S. N.
I love this pub. Such a chill spot to hang out and relax, work, or have a sunday roast. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that it's not always the most amazing food, and sometimes the staff aren't super helpful, but in the end that's what a pub is all about.
M. M.
Good beer and food and lovely olde world pub with lots of little (and big) rooms.
A. H.
Fantastic food and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We sat next to a beautiful log fire and enjoyed the rustic atmosphere. But the thing that made it for us was that they are dog friendly which meant we could take in our 3 little Shih Tzu pooches instead of leaving them in the car. They even gave our doggies little dog bone biscuits and dish of water. Glad we found this place on the way home from a tiring day. Highly recommended
E. C.
Great food and good prices. The waiters are very friendly specially Miguel. Will come back again!
P. L.
Fabulous lunch and service! Tracy (the chef) is complimented on the food (hamburgers x2 and cod with chorizo x2). We shared the chocolate brownie which was wonderful. All beautifully served by Angie. Cannot wait to come back!!
R. M.
Great old style Oxford pub.
But whoever designed their e payment set up should be fired immediately - and for the whole group!
Also the wifi is terrible - see above Re firing the your head of digital tout suite
D. S.
Cracking gem on the walk into Oxford Town, great beer, great food and staff second to none. Their garden is lush too!
R. G.
Good beer and friendly bar staff. A classic Oxford pub that thankfully remains pretty constant. The layout is great, with lots of nooks and crannies, so you can find yourself a nice spot (if you get there before eveyone else that is - it gets busy!). Watch out if you plan to meet someone there as you might have to hunt for them! Plenty of bicycle parking now across the road at the Radcliffe.
D. M.
Fabulous food, great staff and very dog friendly. Had a lovely lunch
R. H.
Big pub but made up of lots of smaller rooms. Food superb and a gastro style menu. Good range of beers but could do with a few more interesting craft ales on pump. It's outside the very centre of Oxford but well worth the walk for a cosy, good English pub.
P. K.
Great gastropub with good beer.
VERY dog friendly.
Food was ok but cheese board for dessert was little short of rip-off. Skimpy portion priced disproportionately high. Should have complained at the time really.
T. S.
Great food, nice pub. You can use their app to order
R. B.
Nice pub with a decent selection of beers. Don't forget to check out the bottle/can selection, as they often have surprisingly good craft beers hidden there. The price isn't great, but it's a relatively large pub with a good amount of outdoor seating and friendly staff.
C. W.
Nice traditional pub. Ordering via the QR code was simple enough, would have liked a paypal option for payment though.
R. H.
Excellent pub with great food, lovely staff and a fantastic beer selection
B. F.
Nice little, quaint pub. Had a great few cocktails on offer, as well as beers, wines and cider. I didn't have any food but it looked good!
S. H.
Best pub in England! Looks as great now as it did in 1969 when my 70 American graduate students spent the summer studying at St. Anne's and drinking our lunch and dinner at the Royal Oak just about every day for three months and celebrated the Moon Landing there also in the middle of the night! Thanks for the memories! Hope your customers make more memories for years to come. Sally S. Hoffman, BA, MA, JD.
A. R.
Lovely pub. Staff were incredibly welcome, nice food and our 3 dogs even got a plate of treat and a bowl of water brought to them. Throughly recommend ☺️
C. F.
New to Oxford needed a dog friendly pub. Google said The Royal Oak, pub great, food good, staff excellent. Dog wanted for nothing, food & drink provided for out four legged friend. Recommended.
G. W.
Menu typical pub, vegetarisn salad s bit hard to get through, sausage and mash good would have been improved a lot with a few penn'orth of veg with it, fish and chips ok. Friendly staff. Beer ok.
G. W.
Lively city pub popular with students, academics, and local workers. To call this a 'gastro-pub' is a bit rich, though... They do food, but many evenings the left-had side reserved for 'diners' is nearly empty, and the activity and atmosphere is all on the right hand side. Gastro-pubs also tend to have parking and at £3 an hour or thereabouts, the Royal Oak suffers from being accessible but unnecessarily expensive to visit. The ambience is lively - and if you want a buzz without a headache then this is a great place to settle.
A. T.
Absolutely amazing menu. They were offering vegan specials as part of 'veganuary' which looked amazing. Would highly recommend this pub for food, drink, chat, games and good times!
L. H.
Fabulous place with a warm atmosphere, cosy snugs and very helpful staff. The food we had was delicious and the draught beer was very drinkable. I heartily recommend this gem of a pub in Oxford
D. M.
Timothy Taylor Landlord. Perfection in beer. Would've given it 5 stars if I'd had time for 2 pints.
M. Q.
The Royal Oak is a historical pub slightly north of the Oxford city center. It has maintained its traditional look and feels over the years. Each visit feels like travelling back in time, particularly, because its surrounding buildings are all modernist in style. Their outdoor seating opportunities are cosy in the summer.
p. l. h.
Great vibe. Food is excellent
t. l.
A small but carefully designed menu offering excellent value. Really good food, generous portions, and all in a very attractively redecorated pub restaurant.
T. F.
Great Oxford Pub, visited many times and will do so again. Still feels like a traditional pub, good food, good beer and pleasant surroundings. Worth a visit.
J. L.
Very fast food service, great quality and variety. Chicken pie was lovely. The table I was sat at was very dark so couldn't really see what I was eating (lights were blown)
A. O.
Nice place to pop in for a pint!
V. B.
Big pub geared for food . Coolers were off on lager pump strange first hot mouthful of lager but pint was changed no problem. Staff were very polite.
M. A.
The beer is good. The bar staff are lovely. Food is better than most pubs. Good atmosphere with lots of seating options.
A. F.
Beautiful old pub with friendly, helpful staff and great food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ highly recommended 👌
M. M.
Trivia night Mondays were great fun! A good selection of beers, ciders, and liquors. A good atmosphere with plenty of space; a great place to spend the evening.
L. F.
A pub full of character with friendly staff. Good selection on the menu and the food was well presented and delicious.
j. A.
A lovely pub with plenty of outdoor and indoor space, activities for kids, good food and great staff. Lots of good ales to be found here too, and some real character and charm to the place.
D. O.
Excellent place for for a pint!
N. W.
Friendly and characterful pub. Good beer and food
A. F.
Amazing Sunday roast, good selection on tap, better service than most pubs, and not too busy since it's out of the tourism Hotzone!
D. C.
Food was beautiful and staff very friendly and welcoming definitely go here again
M. M.
Nice atmosphere, particularly good for groups. The service is a bit slow when it comes to food, so don’t go there if you’re in a rush, but food’s ok otherwise.
L. A.
Great pub, drink here a lot. Really does need to improve the speed of service on busy nights though, it can take an absolute age to get a pint on a Friday
J. P.
A great traditional pub. We entered to a warm welcome, found a quiet place to sit and enjoyed good food and drinks.
a. h.
Charming waiter, lovely food and a nice outside table. This pub is worth a visit if you're in Oxford
S. A.
Excellent service, friendly staff and reasonable prices for Oxford. Dog friendly where they get their own drink and a biscuit free of charge. Highly recommended.
D. Z.
Great food, especially the veggie burger (not available on Sunday) and the fish pie. Large pub with lots of indoors and a bit of outdoors space.
E. K.
Very accomodating and lovely food
B. E.
Expensive but good food. Really nice pub feel, all the best bits of an old English pub but with a more 'indie' feel.
K. M.
Really nice place. Friendly with a food pont, just what the doctor ordered
J. C.
Good out of term time when there are less annoying students. Better not on Friday. Back garden good in summer but then you get icky smokers and their cancer sticks.
M. V.
Nice pub!
G. G.
An Oxford classic pub. Opposite to the Mathematics Institute, a great place for meet ups and endless academic discussions. Food is ok.
D. M.
Love this pub. Excellent range of drinks. Interesting interior, with lots of rooms and snugs to sit.
P. H.
Great food, atmosphere and staff. Especially the chef who went out of his way to accommodate us by switching his lunch break around to feed us all
s. h.
Really good discovery. A little bit up the Banbury Rd. Good beer.
J. B.
Good pub, with real ale and food. Just outside the main tourist area of Oxford, which is good.
M. P.
Excellent Michelin star Gatsropub hidden out in Hollyport. Would recommend booking but great food at very reasonable prices
R. C.
The food is good, the staff tends to be a bit messy though, and their pub quiz did have a mistake in it, which is a shame
P. D.
Excellent regular pub. Good guest ales, kept well. Decent food.
L. K.
Cosy pub slightly north of Oxford city center. A fair amount of space inside, and nice for conversation. Not terribly touristy.
S. S.
Really nice old style pub - lots of wood and vibrant artwork. Great staff very helpful and friendly
T. W.
Not. Bad British pub with a good selections of beers and ciders. Lots of quiet corners for small groups to meet up and talk.
I. T.
Good atmosphere, comfortable place to sit and have a pint. Been on a weekday twice now, it tends to be on the quite side on weekdays
P. R.
Nice pub. Good variety of drinks but the food wasn't that good for the high price.
T. B.
Nice pub
R. R.
Just love it here great food and ales
O. B.
Nice pub, but is very popular with students and so gets very busy during term time.
H. S. K.
Quiet, good service, food and drink, great atmosphere, and very tolerant of our group's occasionally intense discussions.
g. l.
An awesome gem in Woodstock road!
Delicious food and friendly staff... absolutely worth a stop if you are nearby!
H. K.
Excellent Sunday lunch menu. Reasonably priced with good portions. Will definitely return.
A. K.
The mulled wine was disappointing and expensive, the food was also under par. Staff were nice and friendly.
A.
Nice pub, but always extremely crowded and really not large enough to handle the crowd. Slow service.
K. G.
Great place! Really lovely staff and atmosphere. Always look forward to the specials when going there
R. S.
Not a bad food and drink option in Oxford. Decent pub menu not overpriced by Oxford standards, good quality and nice ambience.
G. H.
Good beer and good food. Lots of small areas and rooms help the snug atmosphere.
A. H.
Good food, friendly staff and if you complete a short survey of your visit, you receive 25% off next food bill.
W. B.
Best french fries, gravy, and lemonade in all the UK! Amazing service! Always go here! Always.
K. E.
Cosy pub, a good range of beers and hot drinks. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
k. j.
Amazing fish and chips. Best one I have ever eaten! Highly recommend it!
G. W.
Lockdown drinks with friends. RO was well organised, well spaced, table service inside and out.
R. M.
Great pub. Dog friendly, good food and decent selection of Ale
C. P.
It's good and pretty traditional but not the best and affordable place to eat in Oxford.
J. H.
Whenever we come here the food is great. There is lots of seating and the staff are friendly.
D. R.
Can't really write much it was a quick soda water and lime then on our way.
J. C.
Disappointingly by 1900 a couple of items from the menu were not available so we had to have our third choice. It was ok.
K. M.
Ok beer selection, nice garden, and food is not too bad.
O. Z.
Definitely not a 'gastro' pub as it says in the description.A great place for beer and food. Far enough from the center to prevent tourists.
A. G.
Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful building. Nice range of beers
C. W.
A cosy pub with lots of snugs. Nice place for a late-night drink after a gig or an event.
I. B.
Lunchtime food was great, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
I. C.
I'd say this is the pub with the best food in Oxford. Sticky Toffee Pudding is delicious.
H. S.
Nice pub, with quiet areas for quiet conversations or larger areas for group get togethers.
J. M.
Quick service and friendly service however was pretty expensive, even with 50% off on soft drinks.
M. W.
Super busy when we went, but not enough staff or bar staff for the number of covers anyway. Quaint interior.
T. N.
Food and drink is good, nice atmosphere, usually very crowded on a Friday or Saturday night.
T. M.
Excellent fish and chips, good selection of beer, friendly staff.
P. C.
It's ok, standard non corparte pub little pricey for beer, food standard up market pub grub
H. R.
Good food and great service.
