Reviews of Angel Inn, Yarwell

This is such a lovely traditional pub that has a small but ample food menu and the food was well worth the visit
A very popular pub in the village and everyone was very friendly
The Landlords have a brilliant sense of humour too can't wait to return and sit by the fire

Fantastic, traditional British pub. Lovely staff. Fantastic beer garden. Good, unpretentious pub food. Wish it was close enough to be our local, we'd be in every weekend!

This is a lovely little pub, tucked away in the village of Yarwell.
The eclectic collection of items on display make it an interesting place to visit.
The staff are all very polite and chatty and the service is good. This is not a fast food restaurant, so be prepared to wait a reasonable time for your food to be lovingly cooked by their team.
They have a good selection of real ale and a choice of lagers for those who like a pint or three. Spirits and liquors are plentiful.
As they stress on their website, they are primarily a pub, which serves food also. As such, their menu isn’t too large, but what food they do offer is wholesome and plentiful. If you’re after a jus, parfait or any other pretentious fayre, you’ll be disappointed. On the other hand, if you prefer good old home cooked ham, tasty burgers, jacket potatoes and other traditional dishes, you should be more than happy here.
Although this was our first time eating here, we are certain to return in the near future.

It was my birthday and my brother took me and my daughter's out for dinner. It's a lovely little pub, really nice. Food did take a while to arrive but that gave me no cause to make them down on stars. Best part of the visit was when my brother walked in with a surprise birthday cake for me and everyone in the pub joined in singing!! Absolutely brilliant.

We were on holiday between Wansford and Yarwell, and found this fantastic pub on the off chance. From the outside it looks like a small pub, but that is deceptive. It's an independent pub, with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and where dogs are allowed. The service was very friendly, polite, efficient, and we felt like nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, and good value for money, and tasted like it was freshly made to order, in our opinion. Just as we were leaving, a gentleman was about to play some live music. As a family of 4 we had a fantastic evening, and would thoroughly recommend this pub to anyone and everyone.

Nice place, friendly staff, good food. Nice to see dogs welcome and whilst the place has its own vibe, was inviting to everyone. Particularly enjoyed the humour in the menu small print. Also really liked that it's a pub being a pub, ordered food and drinks, paid for it all up front and walked out when finished/ready. No messing about trying to catch the eye of a waiter or any of that stuff! Don't change :)
J. B.

Great pub in lovely sleepy village. Large walled beer garden at back despite the tiny looking frontage. Food is good and reasonable. Home made pizza was particularly good. I wanted something with salad which was easily accommodated. Fine real ale from local brewery. Very friendly staff. Delightful evening spent in the sun.
J. E.
Excellent pub. Well run and cosy. Highly recommended and one I will hurry back to.

Possibly the loveliest little pub I’ve ever been in! The staff and customers are really friendly, great service, and excellent karaoke. Just wonderful!

What an amazing surprise! This place reminded us equally of a quaint pub in historic York, a bijou covert establishment in Brighton, and a beach bar on an island in Thailand. The people of Yarwell are blessed and we'd even consider moving here from Oundle to be near to this place. Do yourself a favour and go in to explore. Excellent all round!
M. C.

An excellent evening spent at the Angel. Great to be welcomed to a traditional pub with great banter, a proper sense of humour, as well as hearty, well prepared food.
Top it off with a few games of pool for 50p a go while the dog has a run around the garden. Perfect and highly recommended.
C. B.
Fabulous friendly pub. Great food. Very friendly locals . Had a great evening.

Proper pub. Great atmosphere and run by really nice people. Food and beer top notch. Decor is exactly right for a country pub, full of character. Dog friendly too. Shame I don't live nearby as it would be all too easy for the wife to find me when I popped out for a stroll...
J. B.
Lovely friendly pub with a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit have not sampled the food. The shandy I had was excellent and the Jazz band and singer an extra bonus.

Very friendly staff and patrons, good beer and good food and very reasonably priced. Live 45 minutes away but make the effort because it has that rare thing called character and atmosphere that is lacking in most pubs. Wish this was my local!

It's a tardis ! Welcoming, fun staff in a old-school cosy front bar area. 2nd bar area, behind, 3rd bar area with pool table, 4th space is a conservatory with TV in corner, lastly a fair sized garden with some stuff for the kids. They serve food (did not try) and they have Saturdy music nights (at courteous sound levels) and Quiz nights on Sunday. All local friendly and welcoming. Nice place
