Under new management as of August 2022! The pub had been shut for a while but has just reopened with a new look and an impressive new menu, mainly Indian food. Have to say we were really impressed both with the prices of the food and also the quality. And again with the friendliness of the staff! I had a veg masala, mushroom rice and what was probably the best peshwari nan I've ever had for a grand total of £13.75. The place was busy too and I really hope it stays that way for them as it is something different in our town and it's well deserved.

Let me start with how wonderful The Railway is back open. I am sure the new landlord Sub has a lot to do to be able to open in such a short period of time. It was clean and tidy probably the cleanest pub I have ever been to. We had a few drinks at the bar and couldn't help noticing they do amazing food. They were very busy. Still Sub managed to get us a table. The good thing about the railway is they have kept the bar and restaurant separate. The staff are very polite and attentive. Sub is always running around making sure customers are looked after. They are still settling in. Give them a chance you won't be disappointed. Oh yes, you must try their mixed grill and goat curry It's absolutely brilliant. We are definitely coming back :)

Excellent food, excellent service. This place is a welcome change. Friendly atmosphere, very reasonably priced and not trying to overstate it but, the food is exceptional and it arrives hot and freshly cooked. Would recommend to anyone. Hope it stays this way...4 people, very, very well fed and drinks all for £80..... Good job guys....please don't change.

We were very impressed with everything here, staff, service and food were all top notch. Portion sizes were good too, which I was very pleased about as when I initially saw the menu prices I must admit I was concerned about how much you would get to eat but pleasantly surprised and went home very full. The owner is very attentive and makes sure everything is good. Impressive meal and experience, will definitely be back. Well done the railway.

Went on a cold Friday evening. It was busy in there but our food came out in a timely manner and the service was very attentive. The highlight though was the food! It was delicious 🤤 we had a madras, a llk curry, a pilau rice, garlic naan and cheese naan. It was warming, filling and one of my favourite curries I’ve ever had. We will definitely go back!! Thoroughly recommend 👍

Excellent meal on a pretty busy Wednesday evening. Nice atmosphere and lovely food. Great menu choice , nice vegetarian selection and the peshwari Nan bread is absolutely fabulous. Will be back again and if you love Indian food it’s well worth paying a visit

For a town of its size, Whittlesey was arguably lacking one more good quality restaurant – but this absolutely delivers. Fantastic food of really high (non-greasy) quality, great prices, brilliant staff. For two, I'd happily recommend combining a mixed grill with a curry, rice and naan.

The new management at this pub is a breath of fresh air to Whittlesey. The food is fantastic and so tasty and the staff are so helpful and nothing is to much trouble. We have been there at least 6 times since it reopened and every time the food has been exceptional.

I’m not one to leave reviews as a rule but every time I’ve eaten here I have loved it, I’ve tried most of the menu now and it’s all top quality food, all the staff are extremely friendly and always down for a quick chat! Can’t recommend this place enough ps try the hot wings they are banging! But there isn’t a dish I would like! And Well done to the railway!

Takeaway from The Railway tonight, fantastic food - fairly priced. Both meals we ordered were delicious, bags of flavour and piping hot. Waited while it was all prepared, just long enough for a pint of ghost ship in the bar. Will be back!

Newly re-opened and refurbished, this pub now offers Nepalese Indian food to eat in or take away. The food is amazing and for a great price. Service with a smile. I'd give it more stars if I could.

I haven't been for a long time, but returning after all these years was a real pleasure. I took my parents and son for a Saturday evening meal. Excellent starters, mains and pudding for a very reasonable price in smashing surroundings, served by extremely friendly staff. We will return soon.

I was one of a group of 16 just had Sunday lunch at the Railway, Whittlesey. One of the best meals ever 😂 .As a vegetarian I was given roasted butternut squash filled with mixed beans plus Yorkshire pudding, plus vegetables. Beautifully cooked, lovely presentation. Ginger pudding was homemade, best I have ever eaten. Very nicely decorated, very clean, polite friendly staff and great prices. Complements go to the chef. I will definitely be returning and recommending to all. The only downside was a few of the group didn't like eating off boards/slates. Plates and dishes please!!!

I went here on Sunday as a party of 4. We had roast dinners with one being vegetarian. The man was courteous, friendly and allowed use to relax just checking enough that we were OK. We were shocked at the cost as we had 4 dinners one espresso one J20 a lemonade and 2 red wines for under £40. The decor is lovely. We are going again soon. From a pub with a bad reputation to this is a nice change. Congratulations 🎊

My first visit to The Railway Inn, the staff were very friendly and helpful, we all enjoyed our food it was very good, our two young children enjoyed the music while they waited for their food. Pricing was great as we had the earlybird deal & was told they had just launched children eat for free in the week. All round a lovely family evening and we'll be back. Thank you.

I've only just walked out of this place and I had to write a review, Sunday dinner 2 for £10 ok if you was paying 9.95 each maybe a bit steep but the starters are home made all deserts all home made even down to the ice cream, how on earth this place isn't packed I will never know because it's a class place even to sit outside for a Sunday afternoon drink and next time we will get the train as it's right next to it and sit and watch the world go past with a glass of rośe wine what was perfection
