Popped in for lunch..... We sat in the garden, in the glorious sunshine and ordered a mix of small plates along with a cocktail pitcher. The food arrived all together and was piping hot. The salted beef Bao Buns were to die for as were the burger sliders. At 5 for £20, It was really good value! The pina colada was well made, really tasty and not too overpowering of alcohol....perfect! Really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you so much!

Althou they didn't have everything on the menu the selection of food was still very good. The place had a feel of open space but has a lot of character. The staff were very polite and constantly checking to see if we were happy with the food. They were busy when we visited but we didn't have to wait long for our food. The drinks were expensive but the food prices were very reasonable and good quality. If I had one gripe about the food is that the size of the portion was a little small. We will definitely going back as it had a very nice atmosphere.

After Gordon arms was a let down we have decided to pop into Woodman. Great choice , pub was very nice clean , all staff were great supervisor team leader was very helpful. Food was delicious. Amazing service .

Staff friendly, good selection of food choices and beers etc. But Sunday roasts are a bit bland and small portion sizes. I had the three roast meat selection which was a slice of turkey, slice of pork and thought I was getting a slice of beef or something but the other piece of meat was a small chipolata sausage! Came with a couple of spoonfuls of mash, one small piece of brocoli, half a chopped carrot and a spoonful of cabbage plus a large dry Yorkshire pud, oh yeh and 4 small roast potatoes, so glad I ordered the side dish of roast potatoes as well. On the other hand my wife had the special cod and chips (Not to be confused with cheaper version of the same cod and chips) and she got scampi, peas, 2 rounds of bread and butter average size piece of cod and a lot of chips, her portion wasb actually for an adult!! Would go back, but would not choose anything from Sunday Roast meal choices. Veg is the cheapest part of most meals and it's the bit they scrimp on, makes no sense.

Reasonable prices on menu choices. Good selection. Wine by the glass a bit pricey I thought. Good service by polite staff. Car parking reimbursement which is a bonus .I would recommend this place for quality and value ,certainly where the food is concerned.

We visited the Woodman on Wednesday the 15th of June for an evening meal after another local pub let us down. From start to finish the service was excellent, a pleasant female member of staff found us a table at short notice, the food was cooked to a high standard. I would particularly like to thank a member of staff for their honesty, when I ordered a drink I left my wallet on the bar, and the gentleman kindly returned it to me at my table. I would recommend.

Typical pub grub type of food (from freezer to fryer!) but perfectly edible. Been here many times over the years and service has always been unpredictable. However on a recent visit, although busy - the bar staff were swift and efficient and the 2 ladies working front of house were extremely efficient in servicing tables which was good to see. All very polite and friendly. Greene King - you really need to consider a refurbishment though - particularly the toilets!

Love a Greene King pub. Would have been a 5 star rating but they forgot about our order. We had to ask twice. When it arrived it wasn't as hot as we would have liked. However, we're going to try again tonight. I'm sure it'll be fine this time. 🤞

Great place to meet as it is super easy to get to and has loads of parking. There was a great range of drinks and the outside area has a great feel about it with a nice view of the 18th green. They also had a kids play area that looked pretty good.

Told around about 20 minutes for our food but waited 45 minutes before enquiring about it I think they forgot about it but said that they had a backlog and it would be over soon so In total just over an hour to get our food. Staff were very nice and apologised

Service very slow. It took 2 hours to get as far as requesting desserts and were then told we would have to wait 30 minutes for them as a large party had to be seen to first. Obviously short staffed in the kitchen. Waiting staff were pleasant and hard working but hard to feel impressed when you have to miss out on dessert as chef is too busy to provide it in an appropriate time

Lovely little pub, great food with reasonable prices. Outdoor seating is best for the views over the golf course. My only negative is the speed of service - I've waited for over 5 minutes at the bar despite no other customers being served. I've similarly waited an unsatisfactory amount of time to be served my food. Their app for ordering works well, albeit a bit slow at times. Table numbers are confusing as they've used permanent markers over a template meaning a 5 could also be a 2 depending on where you look!

I have to leave good feedback for the team here. I wandered out without paying the bill. Had a dawning moment late the same evening and they were very forgiving when I explained and settled up over the phone. The food was good and served quickly. It was a Christmas lunch and they were expecting a party of 30 in too so made sure to get our orders in beforehand. All together nice.

Lovely and clean, staff were welcoming. We were forewarned of a 40 minute waiting time which we were happy to wait. Unfortunately we ended up waiting over 1 hour for our food, starters came with the mains and 3 of the meals were forgotten about (I assume the tickets were lost or deleted) It would have been nice to hear a apology, even recieve a drink or something complimentary. We had to rush to finish because we had a train back to London to catch, plus they were closing. However, when the food eventually arrived it tasted amazing. I'm not going to bash you guys to much, I work in hospitality to so I know things can go wrong, it's just how you handled it actually felt quite uncaring. I will be back and hope for a more pleasant experience.

Pleased to be back to eating out. Disappointed with the meal. We order beef and ale pie, when it was served the pie crust was so hard we couldn't cut it with a knife. We advised the waitress but to no avail.

Visited this pub from Ferry Meadows campsite which took a gentle 20 minute stroll. This was the first week after lockdown and the staff courtesy and behaviour was exemplary. Full Covid-19 protocol was observed. Felt very safe. Decided to book a table for a meal the following evening. Not disappointed. Steak pie was delicious. Sensibly priced menu with a cracking view over the golf course.

We had the most fantastic food here stayed at the holiday inn down the road spotted it on the way to eat elsewhere (large chain) and decided to stop off and have a look. So pleased we did! Compliments to the Chef beautifully cooked and plentiful, Bring your appetite! Julia served us, very friendly we engaged her in a chat about what to do locally and she was bright bubbly and helpful. Venue nice too. Should we be in this area again we will stop in again no doubt! We didn't have our 6 year old daughter with us but would have no hesitation in bringing her kids menu looked good and decent play area for good weather

We had are staff Christmas dinner at this location. The food was bland and tasteless. The meat position small. I’m pretty sure the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were frozen. Total lack of gravy. Do not go for the cheesecake 3/4 biscuit with a small amount of cake also tasted burnt. The only saving grace was the prawn cocktail which I gave to say was worth 5 stars. A lack of waiting staff serving a party of 30 caused chaos bringing the food to the table.

Service was great the staff are really warm and welcoming. Starter (garlic mushrooms and courgette rolls) and dessert (millionaires shortbread cheesecake and cherry bakewell) where fabulous. The main was ok the steaks we had for the main was very gristley. After speaking to the waitress who served us took our coffees off to compensate very pleased with this. Over all it's a great place to eat and drink, if your not happy give the feedback they will thank you for it.

We had a 40 min wait for food, although it didn't look particularly busy, there were a few groups in the garden, but next to no-one inside. A family group seated near us had to wait an hour then only 1/2 the meals were ready together. There were no apologies for the delays from staff, we had a long wait for our dessert also !!! Such a shame, we've been coming here for a number of years, but obviously there were problems in the kitchen today. We left at 6.40 when someone was told the wait was now an hour and a half for food.

Recently visited here for a family dinner. Restaurant and bar was lively. Food was really good and there was a live performance that night. Service was slow at times due to shortage of kitchen staff. However the rest of the team worked hard to make sure customers were happy

Popped in for some food and drinks with some family and friends. Food simply average, the selection of beers both on tap and in bottle is very limited, same with the choice of spirits. The outside area is nice and has a climbing frame etc for the kids to run riot on. Staff friendly each time we have visited but they need to improve beverage choice and food quality.

Food is the same as the Boathouse, same company duh, but that doesn't make it any leas excellent, the service was just as good, three different servers all of which were attentive and happy to help, that is all you can hope for. Had the mixed grill, can't fault any part of it, and apple crumble pie, yum yum. Take time out and visit, but not too often as I want a seat when I return. 🤓

It's a gastro-pub, the menu isn't over priced but it isn't exactly cheap either. The best thing about it is when it's warm enough to sit outside beside the golf links and watch the golfers. There is a driving range and golf shop attached as well so you have a bite, have a pint, have an anti-stress session all in one go

Went with friends for drinks and food. The staff that served us made the evening. We were warned before ordering food that would be a delay, how often does that happen? Knowing the time scale we still ordered and it was delivered well within the time scale suggested.

Although ordered b4 hand still not good with gf meals. Sandwiches kept seperate but salad mixed with gluten so anything hoing over the top when reached could contaminate the salad. There was help yourself bevrages but ran out of hot water for tea. A member of staff should have been on hand to help with things. If iv been here for cake my friend has to make or buy some to bring as not supplyed! Its not like its an option to be gf. Its a way of life like a nut allergy. People wjo arw vegatarian choose to be, but people who have to live gf its a wsy of life and if given gluten spend hrs in the toilet. Please consider gf in your menu. Gf chips sunflower and potatoes no added flour. Gf quiche if not msde on premasis can be bought from Mand S as can chicken in bread crumbs. If you cant preoare on site buy in. Explain to customers but as long as cooked above other items abd served with seperate utensils . If others can cater so can you! The cook or chefs should cater as well as the staff be trained in this.

Over the years I've had great food,service and Many a party held there.But today I had taken some of my family for breakfast,first of all we wasn't allowed to sit in the restaurant side,only the bar and there wasn't a table the size that we needed so we had to put a table next to another one.Ordered our food,when it came out my daughter in law found a long hair and refused to eat it,so I had her breakfast and she had mine,as didn't want to make a fuss,then I had egg shell In my eggs,so I didn't eat much more of my breakfast as it put me off.Also my granddaughter's breakfast was missing her scrambled eggs,they apologized,but it took over 10mins for the eggs to come back,by that time we had almost finished our breakfast.And the pot and eggs were absolutely boiling and as she is 3 we could not give them to her,so in the end she didn't eat any.We never had anyone ask if everything was ok,and we were sitting talking for at least 25 mins after our meal and still no one came,not even to clear our plates.So quite disappointed with that experience and will not go back for breakfast again.
