We were visiting Rosemoor and wanted a pub not too far away. Excellent place. Parking available and lots of outdoor seating which will be good in summer. Staff very helpful and friendly. The local ale was fabulous. If we had time we would have eaten there as the food looked good and then probably 5 stars.

Absolutely wonderful place & service. They fitted us in for a Sunday Roast at the last minute. Homemade parsnip crisps to snack on with our drink on arrival 👌. Followed by our Sunday Roast which was so delicious, definitely up there as the best in a long time! Totally recommend if you are passing or living anywhere nearby. Stopped here for an incredible Sunday Lunch, which was was large, beautifully cooked and excellent value. Started with some antipasti and could not get enough of the parsnip crisps given to us with our drinks! Staff were very helpful and were very good at drink selections given the wide choice of beers and ciders available.

We came on the recommendation of one of the Rosemoor staff and were very impressed; service, food and beer were exemplary. The members of staff/owners were really friendly and helpful. This is absolutely one of the best pubs we have visited in a long, long time. Our only regret is that we didn't tip (we intended to do it on the bill at the end but there wasn't an option...it was getting very busy by this time too); the service deserved reward.

Wonderfully friendly welcome from Sam and her staff. This place is an absolute Mecca for craft beer - the range on cask, keg and in the fridges is unrivalled in North Devon. Food offerings are fantastic, great tunes playing on the turntable, great people, great beer. All in all an absolute winner.

Ace owners who went out of their way to make our stay at their pub a delight! Rooms upstairs were lovely. The food here is special with lots of local produce, but also keeps its pub vibe with people drinking at the bar and a top selection of beers from forward thinking breweries.

We cannot speak more highly of the accommodation and hospitality that we and our guests received. We had a brilliant party. It finished off our wedding day perfectly. Stayed here for 2 nights while at the RHS Rosemoor Xmas Fair. This was our fourth time. The pub is excellent, the hosts were welcoming and the food is out of this world. Beer also great.

Visited for food, drinks and an overnight stay. Fantastic on all fronts. The locally-sourced food is remarkable (especially the mushroom and cheddar toastie – the perfect pub sandwich!), and the Globe must have the best beer selection for miles around. The Blue Room was comfortable and classy, like staying in a boutique hotel. A brilliant community pub. Sam and Jim are wonderful hosts. Can’t wait to visit again.

Since Jim and his wife took over the Globe this year it’s gone from strength to strength. The menu suits all types, from their delicious steak and ale pies, amazing roast dinner to their Thai red curry. The atmosphere is welcoming to the locals and visitors to Devon, the new waffles on the menu are scrummy. Don’t miss a visit.

We visited this pub whilst staying in the area on a birthday break away. I rarely write reviews but thought this was a must. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and provided an amazing service. Delicious food that had no faults. Cannot recommend enough! Believe the reviews - an absolute gem! Lovely friendly, accommodating people. Never been before and were only staying in the area. We managed ta late table on a Saturday night. Food was spot on and the ale selection was superb. Landlord very happy to chat about the pub and the beer which was great. Good prices too. If you're local I hope you realise how lucky you are.

Evening meal with friends. A great menu and an even greater choice of beers! Offered some tasters of beer to help decide, nice touch! Loved the beer I had and the food was very good. Staff are excellent too. Seating is either inside or outside. We went on a Tuesday. This is a little gem, they also have rooms to rent. We shall return !

During a recent stay in Devon, I struggled to get a booking for an evening meal at short notice. The Globe found a space for me despite battling a poor phone connection to make the booking. The food was delicious and staff friendly and helpful, ensuring I was comfortable and happy. Customer service was flawless in a lovely, traditional country pub. Despite being busy, there were no delays in food and drink arriving. I will certainly return to the Globe next time I'm visiting and can't recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic classic "old pub" with a great range of real Ales and marvelous food. The hosts (Jim & Sam) made us very welcome and couldn't do enough to help! We called in for Sunday lunch and were made to feel very welcome by Jim and Sophie Pub was busy but that did not detract from level of service. Food was enjoyable, served on warm plates which is a must for my wife. Overall a lovely experience and would definitely recommend.

After reading the reviews we decided to book for Sunday lunch while staying at Millbrook Cottages. So glad we did the welcome was warm and friendly without being too much. They treated the dog to some doggie biscuits which he loved. The meal was delicious and plentiful; the cost was good value. You’ll need to book as not a massive eating area. The decor was lovely so pleased to see all produce were locally sourced and have such a range of craft beers topped the day. Would definitely recommend and will return whenever we are in the area.

Had another amazing stay at The Globe over the May bank holiday weekend and genuinely cannot recommend it enough! The food menu is great, all local produce, catering for something for everyone. The fillet steak is easily the best steak I’ve had. The beer selection is something else, a huge variety of cans and bottles, modern IPAs, and the usual suspects on keg. As well as excellent ciders from just up the road alongside the locally brewed real ales. The rooms are more like that of a high end hotel in the city than an old coaching inn, they are so well done! While I was staying they had their annual May Blues and BBQ weekend. Live music, food and a great atmosphere. It was a brilliant afternoon and I’m already looking forward to next year!

As walk ins from a 7 mile walk and the planned pub being shut due to renovation, this was a truly delightful find ! The owner and staff where incredible both friendly, chatty (not overly) and welcoming. The fire was lit and plenty of pub games where available in to play. The owner excited to show new ones, never pushy always openly friendly. We ate a late lunch with the most fantastic ham egg and chips, only a truly good pub can pull off great ones, and a revolutionary burger. This isn't a gastro pub, supplying a huge selection of changing beers on draft, large gone selection and a few fantastic ciders. The only thing that might reduce this down a star, would be the toilets are a little dated. They didn't smell and were clean, just told the ladies was a little dated. A wonderful little pub.

Just recently moved to the area and thought we'd give them a try. Had a takeaway on Friday and Sunday after lockdown, OMG!!! Food is amazing and such a lovely couple. Hope to frequent on a regular basis once everything opens back up, but until then we will have to make do with the takeaway service. Keep up the excellent work guys.

We cannot rate this place highly enough. When visiting the area for a Hen weekend, this pub opened early for us to have a brunch and provided a personal menu for us. In the evening they helped to sell us extra alcohol for our house party (we stayed at Bedford House), they sold it to us at a really fair price and also said if we didn’t drink it all we could bring it back the next day. Both the people we dealt with, I can’t remember their names, but the guy behind the bar and the lady chef were so accommodating and worth every 5 star. As soon as we entered this establishment last week we were greeted by Jim and Sam they both made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We ordered our meal and drinks the Ale was superb on arrival of the food the presentation was excellent freshly cooked using locally sourced ingredients,with a couple of miles ! The quality of the food was excellent along with the service. The Globe offers bed and breakfast and on our return on Sunday for a couple of nights again warmly greeted and shown to our room newly refurbished was fresh,comfortable ,quite and airy with a 50 inch tv with free netflix. Jim and Sam are very flexible and accommodating,nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was outstanding and plentiful ,I have stayed in many 'top end establishments' over the years, this is one of the best breakfasts I have had. Quiz night was great fun ! The variety of ciders and ales on offer is fantastic. Thank you Jim and Sam for lovely two nights.

The Globe is a really lovely pub, and the new menu really clearly points out what is veggie vegan and gluten free (and which items have alternatives to make them v/ve/gf!), which is super helpful! Serves local draughts and locally produced food.
