I am impressed with the amount of choice on the menu. The food i ordered was tasty and hot. Service was amazing and always smiling. This pub has a great atmosphere and always has something going on either quiz night or entertainment. Will defo be back.

Decided to pop out for a mid week meal and it was packed, it's always busy which is a great sign and arrived with no tables availble. Lovely lady said she would give us a shout when a table became free if we head to the bar. Only had to wait 10 minutes, table cleaned and replenished. Great service. New lady on the bar really welcoming . 4 stars as the steak on the mixed grill little well done as we asked for medium rare but everything else great 👍

The Tamar is our local pub, serving cheap and cheerful pub grub. The staff are amazing especially Toni, Tanya and Rachel. Rachel's pub quiz on a Monday is a must! There is also karaoke on a Friday night and live music on Saturday nights. I would recommend a visit.

I went to the Tamar on a Friday evening. There was a karaoke evening in full swing. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. I would definitely recommend anyone who enjoys an atmosphere of camaraderie to go to the Tamar.

I haven't been to this pub for many years but my friend and I had lunch here and I have to say it was very pleasant.The food menu is extensive and covers breakfast, lunches, the usual favourites, light bites and desserts. Obviously there are many ales etc but also hot and cold beverages. We were welcomed and served at the bar by a friendly lady and checked upon, twice at our table, during our meal. Lots of meal deals so I would say something for everyone. I will definitely lunch here again.

Popped in for a meal after work on Monday and ended up staying most of the evening ! The pub has a great quiz on Mondays and the lady who hosts it ( sorry I don’t know her name but she has blue hair) is an amazing host. One of the best quiz nights around and well worth checking out - oh and the food was great too.

A great pub in the heart of crownhill. Brilliant staff nothing is too much trouble even at the busiest of times. Food served promptly to a high standard bar snacks such as crisps are available if you didn't want a meal or hot snacks. Didn't wait long at all to be served at the bar for drinks eventhough it was packed. Football matches are shown throughout the week and karaoke is on fridays. Which is quite popular. A pool table which is extremely popular is situated around the right hand side of the bar. Ample seating and the toilets are on the level except for four steps to the ladies. Easy disabled access and car parking available too. Great atmosphere friendly and welcoming indeed👍🙂

It was OK..a big space yet all those having lunch crowded together at one end of the room..not what one would expect with covid..you had the space, why not spread us out...we had booked but still squeezed in very close to others. Pleasant service...I had scampi and chips..both OK but needed 5 more minutes of cooking to crisp up, and very little..expect big meals in pubs... Served its purpose but I don't think I will be going there again...good free parking!

Great food, good atmosphere and really helpful staff. The food selection is amazing and that includes vegan/vegetarian choices too. The food does take a while to come out but it's all cooked freshly and they have staff issues the same as anywhere else. The Tamar has television screens set up for sports so it can get very busy on occasions. It's a good idea to book if you are going to eat as it can get busy but you can just go in for a drink, you will be made to feel just as welcome. The Tamar has special offers on most days like 2 meals for one price and that includes Sunday roast. There are tables inside and out if you fancy eating alfresco. There's a car park at the back of the Tamar and another further up the road if you prefer but if you plan on drinking leave the car home, its on an easy bus route from most areas of the city. I definitely recommend a visit to the Tamar, its a great place to visit, we have always been pleased with our food, the atmosphere and we come away feeling so relsxed too. Enjoy!

Our "local" which we can't visit too often with family responsibilities but when we do we leave feeling like we have had value for money. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The food is always hot and tasty and there is a good choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

I went to the Tamar today for a drink with my wife & I was shocked at the price of drinks. I had a pint of Stella & my wife had a Gin & Soda. The bill was £9.75. We left after 1 round of drinks. Update: The General Manager of the Tamar (Michael Jonas) responded quickly to my review & told me that a mistake had been made. I have changed my rating to 5 stars because of Michael's quick reply & his honesty. Thank you Michael.

The Tamar is a well established pub/eatery with ample free parking either in it's own car park or in the adjacent council owned car park (3 hours free parking) plenty of time to choose from the varied pub menu. The £5 rump steak on a Mon/Tues is very good value. Update; they now do a quiz on a Monday evening which is very popular. Cash prize, free grub. They are also promoting a new 'Cowboy' breakfast, and if you turn up dressed as a cowboy your breakfast is free!!

The food was nice but service was a bit disappointing. I was able to use the green King app on my phone to order my food and drink but my friend who didn't want certain stuff in the burger so she had to order at the till. Upon arrival of food I only got mine and by the time i had finished my my friends came and out then my dessert came out. By the time her food came out she also had her dessert come too and then her ice cream was melted.

Chicken and bacon salad was nice, chicken was on the dry side. Ordered seasoned fries and had to swap with hubby as they were too spicy (only paprika). Down side was women's toilets, very clean if slightly small and low down seats but had to go down some steps then up some steps to get to them, I often walk with crutches or a cane so this wasn't ideal. They probably have a disabled toilet with better access but I didn't see it.

We just called in on a whim knowing they served food and feeling peckish. Large and airy pub focusing on sports and good value food. Weekday lunchtime saw the pub pretty quiet with no problem finding a table. Meals are on an American style theme, well cooked and arrived within 20 mins of ordering.

If you want a great time and lots of fun. Well this is the place to go in the evening. I'd say it was one of the most liveliest pubs in Plymouth. They also do some great food and believe me you get lots of it. Great wholesome pub grub. There's a good section of drinks on offer. Staff on the whole are friendly and helpful. There is quite a bit of Room to sit and eat or just to drink. They do show sports and have a pool and darts area. I would highly reccomend you visit here.

My Auntie, cousin (poor health) and nan (90 and deaf) went to the Tamar for lunch today. My Auntie had a funny turn in the bathroom and wasn't able to move from the bathroom for a while, naturally my cousin stayed with her to make sure she was okay. The staff were amazing making sure my nan and auntie were both okay. My nan was brought cups of tea, and my aunties was refunded for her meal as she didn't eat it. Brilliant service, brilliant staff.

This was my 1st visit since the pubs have responded during the covid 19 pandemic. Although quite I was highly impressed with how Greene King and most importantly the staff have set up the Tamar to be covid 19 compliant. Very easy process of scan and register at the front door, table service, 1 way system and plenty of sinage on tables stating they have been sanitised. I'm sure on a busy weekend evening it could be a slightly different story, but until the general public get used and understand its here for the long haul then the Tamar is a 👍 for me. Great Job to all the staff.
