Really lovely evening here - great selection of drinks including cocktails and great ciders. We had fish and chips (huge and tasty) and a lovely burger. Fab spot with dining room, comfy sofas area and huge garden. This place only opened a year ago and it’s a great addition to the area. Team were absolutely lovely too - brilliant hospitality!

After googling the best ploughman's in Plymouth and being directed to the Brook Inn in Plympton, we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly, accommodating and welcoming. TL;DR Food was very good but service was poor. We had booked for 12 people (granted it's not a small booking), we were asked to move our own tables to accommodate and move them back when we were finished. Fine. Not a big deal at all. When ordering at the bar, staff were talking amongst themselves and ignored us. At one point, one was told 'youll have to wait as I'm dealing with your table.' Bit much. Plates were never cleared despite us carrying on for an hour after food was finished. Chef extended the menu (normally reduced Sunday menu) for us which was very appreciated. The food was excellent and worth travelling for. I'm not a vegetarian but would pick the vegetarian burger again! Lovely outdoor seating and additional parking round the back.

Unfortunately we didn't have a good evening the last time we visited The Brook. The staff were far from welcoming & the place was freezing. We ate with our coats on (we weren't the only table wearing coats) & asked for the heating to be put on, it finally came on at 1930, too late & too cold for the 28th December. On the plus side the food was OK.

Fantastic evening in this venue celebrating our sons 18th birthday. The staff were so friendly and helpful in organising and setting up his surprise meal and decorating the room for us before our arrival. The food was amazingly tasty with alot of options on the menu to suit all tastes. Due to being a party of 40!! - we pre-ordered our meals and we wernt disappointed! A great venue for parties, functions and gatherings. Lovely cozy sofa area too for relaxing with a glass ort wo of vino after a meal . We will definately be back alot in the future. Heard the Sunday roastsare amazing so looking forward to trying them soon!

This was our first time in the pub as we have just moved to the area. We have tried 6 other pubs in Plympton before! Love the garden & outdoors music and really lovely inside. Had a roast here today and the staff are lovely and attentive. The roast was all very nice apart from the potatoes, they tasted and felt like they had been cooked this morning and reheated in the microwave before being served. Such a shame as apart from that the meal was very nice.

I came across The Brook Inn when looking for vegan options in the area whilst visiting, as it does seem many places lack good vegan options away from the city. We were not disappointed. We booked a table in the beer garden, the pub itself is lovely and the staff were really welcoming and friendly and there was a good atmosphere. The food was great, homemade, good portions and fantastic value for money. We will definitely return when we are next in the area!

Lovely for a drink, would not go back for food. Daughters beans were cold, fish was rock hard(fed it to the dogs), lasagne was bland, chilli on the chill dog was cold. Menu for mains was limited, however there was a large selection on gluten free and also had vegan and vegetarian options. This is such a shame as we used to love eating here.

It was good that they gave us a function room for my sisters 50th birthday. The Jail Ale was off so I had an Atlantic ale which was OK. The cod was a little dry and I didn't like the triple cooked chips. My sister and my dad did enjoy the lasagne. Could of had a bit more variety on the menu.

Why are you made to feel that you are untrustworthy when you have to pay for your meal before it is served. And drinks can't be added. One of the starters was cold but the rest of the meal was good. Apart from that the service was good and the atmosphere super.

Had a gorgeous lunch here earlier today, I've not been for years, and now I'm wondering why! We were greeted by a lovely lady who clearly enjoyed her role, as did our waitress. She was quick to serve drinks, no long wait for food order nor our food to arrive. When it came the portions were hot and plentiful and was nicely presented. The brownie stole the show, more so when we found its secret! I'll be happily coming back in the near future!

Well worth reserving a table as they are very popular on the weekends for lunches but all in all this is a great little find and the pub has plenty of entertainment to offer and community activities which is a real pleasant change!

8 of us had Fathers Day lunch. We had booked a table in advance and was called in the morning to confirm numbers. The table was ready when we arrived at 1pm. We all had roast dinner, dessert and a few drinks. Very generous portions. The team were very friendly and helpful. The only reason I put 4 stars was that I thought the Roast was a little high in price and sweet corn was an odd option for the veg. Would recommend and certainly go back.

They were refurbishing the bar when we visited but service was as efficient and friendly as normal. Food good but portion sizes too big for us but that is normal in most pubs these days. The trick is just not to eat everything on your plate! A popular pub with a lot going on and something of a hidden gem.

This pub has succeeded in creating a really warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Service is really friendly and you are treated as a valued customer. There is a large range of drinks including real ales and ciders. Prices are in keeping with competition. Food is excellent. Good quality, value for money and portion sizes. Various events and entertainment organised such as murder mystery nights and quizzes. There is ample free parking and the pub is wheelchair friendly. Highly recommended.

Settled on the piri piri chicken which was delicious. The portion size was very generous. Excellent food, friendly staff and a beautiful setting. I'm a regular at the quiz, always fun and challenging. The bar staff are always friendly, the food is always piping hot and fresh. The yam are trying really hard to make this a community pub in every sense and its paying off.

Went to the Brook for a family party. Lovely place, nice ambience, food is always good. They other a lot of musical entertainment, a craft circle one evening a week, and activities during the day, painting I think saw advertised, almost like a community centre, which, with pubs closing all over is a really good idea. Somewhere you would feel happy walking in on your own.

The pub is a local hub for the music scene, with lots of, mainly folk music, gigs. They also hold various community events, painting and craft classes and have a restaurant. Super place.

Used to visit fairly regularly until 30 odd years ago when I had a disagreement with the then unpleasant and unhelpful landlord. We've never been back! To be fair there is a different landlord now and I've received good reports from friends. It appears to have become more community orientated.
