Had a panini, a bit too long in machine, nice chips and excellent for coffee. Very nice staff opened up downstairs loo for me. Would rate this 5 star if not for the panini.

Good food good staff, cheap and reliable pub, service is sometimes iffy towards a weekend but the food is lovely and fast always comes hot and freshly prepared and tastes amazing equipped with new pay at table app it's great you don't have to sit down to see the menus then go up to the bar you simply download the app choose what you want pay and it's brought to you The only downside of a pub being so cheap is some of the people in there can get rowdy. But during the day it's lovely and quiet and are always strict on rules and procedures. There's wheelchair access disabled and baby changing facilities and it's kid friendly too.

If you are looking for somewhere that has a really good selection of ales and other brands of alcohol this is a very good choice. If your are looking for a really hearty meal the Sir John Baker has a very varied menu. I did find that it can be quite noisy. But on the whole well worth a visit.

Was pretty busy the day I went in, slower service than usual but the food was great! Friendly and apologetic staff for the time delay which wasn't required but was very much accepted. Would highly recommend this place to anyone else looking for any kind of good time whether it's for yourself, and a partner or just a group of your friends and acquaintances... The occasion is always right here.

You know what you're getting going to a wetherspoons. Food is good value for the money & always good drinks deals going. This particular spoons has friendly staff who provide great service,that's why I visit frequently.

Good Wetherspoons pub. I go there regularly for breakfasts with my wife. The selections are good for both carnivores (like me) and vegetables (like my wife), although the menu is standard to all Wetherspoons pubs. Never had an "off" beer when visiting in the evening.

A nice spoons with distinctive red and black colouring in the front with some outdoor seating there as well. A decent sized bar down the right hand side as you enter and a long walk straight to the back of the pub. There was plenty of space to move around in when I was there and the bar staff were a blast to chat to. The breakfast was the typical 'spoons fare - just what the doctor ordered and the Guinness was excellent (there's even a Guinness plaque inside) - just what the doctor didn't order! Oh well.

The very few staff working here were doing their best to try and please customers. I had a short wait for my Shipyard and knew that it would happen. Fair play to the young female bartender, Hannah or Anna.

Typical Wetherspoon Pub. Good choice of beer on this occasion. Although pub was packed service was very quick again. Just had the one pint of my normal. Beer still has an odd taste. Think again that it's coming to end of barrel?? Decided to try and get another pint of beer but different make. This one was ok. A very quick visit to this branch of Wetherspoons. Not sure if I will be using it again before end of the year?

One of my favourite Spoon's We all know not to expect the best food in the world but after a week long knees up at the big G festival with it's overpriced food and small portions a mixed grill and a pint of shippy for about a tenner helped get me right back on track. A post festi visit has actually become a bit of a tradition. Along with a new pair of Vans from ye old Clarks village next door.

I have to say this is one of the best Wetherspoons I have visited for food. I was down on a course in Portsmouth and had said to myself I will have a different place for eating each night, but I ended up coming to the Sir John Baker each night, the food was always well cooked and presented. I'm a chef to trade and its obvious you have a good team of chefs in your kitchen. Even though it was really busy at times the standard never dropped. Also all the bar staff were hard working and very friendly. So thank you all.

Recommended. A very traditional style pub, in good order. Value for money full English breakfast, and as many top-ups if your tea as you want. Excellent service (quiet at 9.30am!). How do they do it?

This was my first time of going into a pub let alone a Wetherspoons by myself. I had a Chicken melt with mash potato and peas with a cola. They were quite quick to take my order and bring my food to the table. I wasn't 100% impressed with the mash but the rest of food was fine.

The food is nice, with fast friendly service. The only snag is not being able to take my little dog, even outside on the pavement seats, which seems a bit odd that they can say what you do on the pavement, especially as they permit smoking which unlike my dog, is harmful to everyone's health.
