Reviews of Haighton Manor

Pub is housed in a beautiful building. And it's a Brunning & Price pub. Probably my favourite pub group. I've never had a bad experience in one of their pubs. This one keeps to that excellent standard. Good food and well trained staff.
V.
Had a wonderful vegan dinner here tonight, they have vegan options on the menu which change regularly. We had olives, tomato soup & griddled courgette & vegan feta salad to start. Mains were mushroom, lentil & chestnut wellington, mushroom, tarragon & truffle oil risotto and chocolate salted caramel tart to share to finish.. The food was delicious, the star dishes were the wellington and dessert but all the food was very tasty and satisfying. It just shows how fabulous vegan dishes can be if some thought and creativity is put into it. Can't wait to revisit.

Great dining pub, very spacious comfortable. Well presented food, plenty of choice from substantial nibbles , starters, main courses including some small appetite portions which is very welcome. Good beer, wine , spirits range. Ideal too for those who like to spot prestige cars. You ll know what I mean if you visit but James Bond must like Preston!!!

Called in for lunch with my sister and my mum. Great looking venue, with a superb beer garden area. We sat in the conservatory section. The lady who came to serve us was pleasant and cheerful. The food menu was printed for the day, so I think everything is sourced locally and in season. The food was terrific! I got the chicken supreme....cooked to perfection, lovely and moist, with a delicious sauce. My sister had the fried beef salad. She cleared the plate! Mum went for the shoulder of lamb, which was a great piece of meat! Luckily she can't eat that much these days so I got a share of the lamb....melt in the mouth stuff!! The prices are only a few quid more than pub grub places, but the setting and service make it well worth it!! Will definitely be back

Outstanding. Being Brunning and Price you know they're on the ball. Great dining room out back in the conservatory, great staff and quality food. We'll be back very soon for more.

Lovely traditional pub in stunning, peaceful surroundings. We had a lovely lunch and dinner, before staying overnight in one of the new rooms. Great facilities, high quality toiletries provided and beautifully decorated. We were dubious about the breakfast being continental on weekdays but oh my goodness, it was delicious! Lots of options on the tray, it filled us right up. All staff were very friendly and helpful, we'll definitely stay here again.

Hard to find a better place to be honest. Idyllic location with just brilliant 360 views from the conservatory and outdoor areas. A modern, stylistic yet historic, fresh, clean building with serious attention to detail. Fantastic food, not super expensive, fast service and excellent staff. Brilliant bar area also, big range of drinks and a wide food from inexpensive light bites to quality priced heavy meals. Far above and beyond any ordinary "pub", can easily hold itself against very high quality restaurants. During the week on our vist it wasn't too busy at all. Covid considerations in place. Felt very rural, yet not far from motorways, with great mobile coverage (unusual for rural pubs). Highly recommended. ... Just go..

Visited here for my son's 21st birthday. Really lovely atmosphere, the staff were attentive and polite. We were shown to our table and given menus. Once the food was ordered, we didn't have to wait too long for the starters to be delivered. Both 2nd and 3rd courses were delivered and cleared with prompt efficiency, but we never felt rushed. We had a wide selection of food from the menu, for our party and everyone was happy with their food. All in all a fabulous time.

We have just come back from a fabulous evening at the Haighton Manor Pub after celebrating my partner's 60th birthday in their private room. I had planned this surprise 'get together' a few weeks before and the staff here have been fantastic. They have bent over backwards to help me. I dropped off decorations and a cake this morning and they had decorated the table and room brilliantly for us (see picture). I cannot fault their service at all, very attentive and nothing too much trouble. The food was great too and not too expensive either. I had never visited before (I found the place by pure accident) and neither had anyone else in the party, but I think this will be my new favourite place in future. I absolutely recommend without a doubt. Thank you so much, we will be back ☺️☺️
C. N.
Nice food, great location, friendly staff with great service.
I had the black pudding starter. Disappointed as quite bland, potato cake not seasoned, black pudding tasteless and the sauce bland and not seasoned.
Mussels were nice and leek and bacon sauce was very good.
I would recommend this place, but for the price of the food I would expect more of a restaurant standard of cookery.
R. W.
Just brilliant - went here on Saturday, dressed in walking gear with a dog. Had a cracking meal and the waitress was really helpful. I'd give it more stars as I was genuinely impressed. Will definitely be going back!!
J. H.
Great menu with lots of variety and the quality, taste and presentation was superb.
Add to that tue very friendly and helpful staff, the amazing premises with outside tables and views.
There is also plenty of parking and very good selection of beer , gin and wines, it's got it all.
Added Bonus = (Well behaved) with lead dog friendly.
Our dog enjoyed the experience as well as us. 🐾
We would definatley return and recommend visiting.

Thank you to all the team at Haighton Manor for hosting such a fabulous Jubilee Quiz. It was such good fun (even better because we won 🇬🇧) The whole atmosphere was fabulous and the food was delicious. I believe it was the first quiz Haighton has done and the host did an amazing job. All the staff are wonderful and friendly. A credit to you all. Thank you
J. R.
What a lovely place, good food and friendly staff and most importantly...dog friendly 🐕
Just called again, lots of seating outside under marquee's or picnic tables on the grass. Great food, although a little light on vegetarian options.
E. L.
One of my favourite go-to places for a Sunday roast, really yummy food and cosy inside. You can bring you dog and they have a lovely outdoor area to sit when it's nice weather too.
B. z.
Really nice pub food, a bit on the pricey side but still good as a treat. Staff over the years have always been professional and friendly
Nice country pub interior, especially in winter months when open fires on the go.
Good selection of drinks and guest ales too.
This place would be 5 star if it was a guest house or had glamping on site
B. W.
Good food, reasonable prices. The waitresses were very helpful and friendly but missed some drinks at the end of the meal and a side order that was required for a starter had to be asked for, it came very quickly after I reminded them..
J. H.
Great location and outdoor seating. Very good selection of beers and all types of drinks. Lovely bar and restaurant.
Enjoyed fish and chips .
S. C.
Good choice of drinks including local beers and specialist gins. We did not eat this time but will come back to try the food from the varied menue. Easy parking. Childrens play area.
C. G.
We had a pleasant meal here but a few service issues. The menu for Saturday on the internet, which did say changed before midday each day was not the one we were given. It was dated Saturday but was the one that appeared on Friday. Thankfully it was very similar but missing the steak bacon and venison pie. Presumably the chef wasn't wondering why no one ordered one. Initially service for drinks orders was quick although I would have liked to have seen a drinks menu. The main courses took a while and roasted buttered veg were mashed carrots and spinach, not roasted vegetables. The dauphinoise were lacking cream and garlic, more like Lyonnais. We ordered 3 deserts but only 2 came out. We waited ages and had to ask where the other one was and were told they couldn't find our server. The desert minus garnish was unceremoniously plonked on the table after a good 10 minutes delay with a sorry you were missed. The premises are bright and warm with a relaxed atmosphere but the lack of training and attention to detail was disappointing. I would still say give it a try, it could have been an unfortunate one off.

Visiting a Brunning & Price pub is such a joy. We've visited many of their outlets and never been disappointed. Haighton Manor has pleasant staff, quality food is comfortable surroundings.
A. H.
We haven’t been here for years. The place looks completely different. Bar staff were very nice and friendly. We booked a table on line which was very easy but no need really as it wasn’t busy at all. A few in the bar area but not having food. I ordered lamb shank which was very nice. However the whole meal was missing something. My husband had ham and eggs which he enjoyed. My daughter had tomato pasta which she said was very sweet. She didn’t eat much of it. My son had chicken nuggets and chips. The chicken was over cooked and he struggled cutting into them. Unfortunately he left his meal too. Staff did ask if everything was ok during the meal but not at the end. We decided against ordering sweets considering the children had left their meal. For fours meals including one starter, 6 soft drinks and two wines the bill came to £69. The place it self was very nice and had lots of tables and chairs outside. It would be nice to sit out in the sun having a glass of wine.
C. M.
Wonderful food wonderful staff wonderful place The manager was amazing fitting a group of 33 of us in at the last minute for my mums 90th Birthday. I can't thank him enough. 👏👏💯
T. M.
Having searched for a dog friendly pub we found haighton manor. The pub location and pub itself is beautiful and worth a visit just for those two reasons. The menu isn't huge but it's large enough to find something to suit your dietary requirement. Their menu is very limited for vegans though.
The food was cooked to perfection using quality ingredients. Staff are very friendly and overall it's worth a visit.
L. G.
A beautiful meal and a superb venue. Probably the best venison I have ever had. The service was friendly, attentive and polite. The Creme Brulee was large and the perfect end to the meal. I would also recommended you try a glass of the dessert wine. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was relatively quiet.
G. M.
Lovely to be warmly welcomed back to Haighton Manor. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the sunshine, overlooking the gorgeous scenery and watching hares gambolling about.
M. E.
A very nice place to eat. Menu is good a lot of choice. Staff friendly and helpful.
s. r.
We got married here 13yrs ago in December and it was a magical place then. The refurbishment has only made the place better and the food and service was incredible. We are definitely coming back.
A. S.
Just had Sunday roast dinner, the food and service was excellent and whilst the drinks are a bit pricey Haighton Manor is a classy dinning experience and I would recommend it.
M. P.
Lovely place, great staff. Food excellent and nice selection of beers, had a nice west cast ipa on keg.
L. P.
The manor is really special, a wonderful place in the countryside, with a unique landscape. Also the building is really fabulous, the furniture, the lights, the wood, the fireplaces. You have to go! The food is good, nothing to say, but not as special as the place.
K. T.
Top quality food cooked to perfection. Interesting menu. Restaurant quality but in a relaxed family setting. Sat outside on their beautiful patio with flowers everywhere and bees buzzing about happily. There is a play area with swings and a tractor for kids. Dogs are allowed if kept on leads and they sell doggy treats at the bar. Good selection of real ales, gins and whiskey to cover all bases! Try the home made sausage roll which is sold by the inch and so enjoyable!
M. W.
Great place✅ great food✅. Lovely staff 💯 busy but not rushed we were looked after by ruby who was helpful with the menu items that needed to be gluten free and pointed out the things I ordered thet were not suitable for my wife to eat
M. M.
Amazing country pub stones throw away from Fulwood. Excellent choice of beers and spirits. Lovely atmosphere with open fireplaces and stone interiors. Enticing menu with friendly staff. Timely service, you won't be waiting ages for your food unlike some other places. They have got good number of staff to cope with their busy periods. Some very interesting historical pictures dotted around the pub.
T. H.
Great ambience. Lovely open fires.Great selection of food and drink. Lovely location too. Warm welcome from the staff.
M. H.
Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Food and service excellent.
A. T.
Pleasant enough with attentive staff but food seemed pricey for the quality. Braised lamb shoulder was OK if a tiny bit underdone. Cod fritter, to me, means pieces of cod in batter, not a cod / potato mix dominated by mash.
M. T.
Nice place. Outdoor garden and small play area for kids. Haighton Manor walk good. Food was good and well presented, sat outside on a lovely summer evening. Staff friendly and very helpful. However, I found the price of the food and drinks expensive for what you received.
t.
Excellent venue pub. Hot tasty food, great service and friendly staff. Well done!!
T. R.
Beautiful place. Food was great. We all enjoyed it, even the dogs 🐕 there is a large outdoor space too so will be back on a sunny day soon.
M. L.
Nice pub and restaurant would recommend. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food excellent and reasonably priced.
S. O.
Lovely old pub with nice food menu, range of ales and other drinks, cosy interior with several rooms, friendly staff and large outdoor area.
B. C.
Superb range of ales.
Delicious food.
Friendly and welcoming service.
Beautiful, countryside setting.
l. n.
Food was good, when we eventually got it, trying to get served at the bar is not easy, staff just seem to ignore customers, until they decide to serve them, dont they understand the drinkers and dinners pay there wages, the food took over an hour to arrive even though we had pre orderd, won't be going again, shocking service.
D.
Beautiful establishment in a beautiful setting.
The food is incredible. Best lamb I've ever had in my life.
p. b.
What a lovely place, real open fires.
Great selection of beers wines and spirits.
The food was excellent , everyone enjoyed the night and it is exactly what has been lacking in Preston for a long time.
E. P.
Fantastic atmosphere, decor, food, friendly service - delicious and awesome beer garden! Our little boy loved the old tractor 💕
L. E.
We had a lovely meal with friends in the conservatory area. Good quality, well portioned meals; The chicken pie was delicious. Friendly, helpful staff in a lovely setting. Everything was cleanand well presented. Looking forward to going again in future.
C. B.
Food very nice, staff friendly and plenty of seating
J. G.
Accommodated extra person in our group at short notice. Very good food, bubbly, pleasant and efficient waitress. Good choice of ales. Food served promptly. Nice ambience in historic building.
Enjoyed it thoroughly. Recommended.
W. B.
Lovely pub, lovely place. One of our favourites to go to. Great food, great service from great staff. Definitely worth a trip here for lunch, an evening meal, or a couple of pints whether it be in the summer outside or in the winter nights.
T. C.
Very accommodating to my dietary needs. Food was delicious and staff were lovely.
S.
I'm not going to say that this place doesn't deserve the excellent reviews I've read but my starter was the Halloumi chips with a tomato salsa...disappointed to receive a pot of tomato sauce, does the chef not know what a salsa is ??
M. H.
Lovely lunch, reasonably priced and served by friendly and welcoming staff
A. G.
Enjoyed the food in general, but roast potatoes not so good. I had the normal sized portion, but there was very little difference between the small plate my mum had and the normal sized I had?
F. H.
Perfect night away to celebrate hubby's birthday. Beautiful location. Very responsive to our feedback and challenges. Would definitely return.
A.
Absolutely brilliant, great service and great food, thanks will come again
S. M.
Incredible food, starters mains and desserts all good portion sizes and not over filling. Very nice staff as well, thanks guys!!
S. M.
Lovely atmosphere, great friendly Staff and great food
G. C.
Brilliant food and amazing service. The menu changes regularly so you always get something a bit different
C. F.
Lovely pub, homely feel. Great service, food and prices
M. T.
Nice place in a nice setting. Good service , good food.
B.
A lovely venue in an equally lovely part of the country, but I felt both the food and drink we're a little over priced for what they served up...
C. M.
Fantastic meal in great surroundings with really helpful staff. Extensive drinks menu and fabulous food
K. W.
Stayed overnight, rooms are excellent, food brilliant.staff friendly. Good atmosphere, Love it here.
V. B.
Birthday meal. Lovely building and fantastically ambient good food and service although sadly one of the children's meals was overcooked and inedible. Once this was explained I found it difficult to understand why the meal price was still on the bill when it came to pay! I spoke with Emma on the main bar and explained the situation she said if I emailed them before our next visit they would take the price of the inedible childrens meal off the next bill.
A. J.
Went with friends for an early birthday meal and we were seated in the conservatory. The food and service were amazing but it was very cold in the conservatory and the radiator adjacent to our table was only tepid. The temperature outside was only 3° when we left at 10 p.m.
D. W.
Outstanding food, outstanding service, the secret wines are brilliant. Highly recommended
S. C.
One of my favourite places. It always has a lovely atmosphere, warm and friendly staff and food to due for. Me and my partner had a lovely Valentine's evening, thank you
G. A.
The best food, great service and some very tasty unusual ales, love it here every time we go. The only thing missing was the sausage roll😉
S. J.
Great food. I particularly like the menu that describes what is in each dish (dairy, gluten, etc.). Good service. Good atmosphere. I do wish more of the staff would wear face masks, especially when serving food.
T. C.
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Dogs welcome. Staff are very welcoming and helpful
S. L.
Beautiful building and surroundings. Staff are well-organised through the covid19 period. It was my son's birthday and they were very obliging. Definitely will be going back
J. W.
Have lunched here before on a week day and it was excellent. Went for sunday lunch and not so enamoured. Roast potatoes not roasted but fried or Aunt Bessie's type. Dessert the waffle was a bit tough.....
J. T.
Visited Haighton Manor at the weekend. We had booked a table so was seated more or less on arrival. Service was slow, particularly between main and dessert courses. Had to chase for dessert menu. Food was OK but not hot. Plates slow to be cleared. Coffee not hot and a third of it in saucer. Not cheap and would have expected better. Nice place but wouldn't rush back.
G. P.
A lovely setting, warm welcome and excellent food and it’s dog friendly. We were so impressed we returned for another visit and the food was once again excellent.
s. l.
excellent place to eat lovely atmosphere and friendly staff
H. B.
Lovely food. Abit confusing on the menu if you want a smaller meal. I picked a meal and expected to get it but in a smaller portion. I thought I'd be getting haddock and a fish cake but just got a fish cake. If I had known that I would have ordered the usual size. But that being said it was delicious. My hubby got the lamb shoulder and was very impressed. Lovely staff.
R. G.
Went here for my mums birthday. The food was really lovely and we went away feeling full. The serving crew were all really lovely and the food came out quick and hot
F. K.
Just had our works Christmas party and we couldn't have chosen a better venue. Great food, accommodating staff and wonderful setting. Fabulous 😁
L. W.
fab - waiter took very good care of us. took on board allergy and ensured acceptable food was available. I didn't have a problem but was surprised to see they allowed dogs in the restaurant.
S. W.
Beautiful place. Lovely setting. Food was amazing.
M. H.
First time here tonight after driving past a few times. So impressed. Really lovely place, staff were really friendly and efficient. There for an hour and had starters and mains and didn't feel rushed. Nice outdoor area to sit at. Varied menu and great price. Food was great. Will definitely be going back and taking friends and family here.
P. A.
Great atmosphere and excellent food exceptional service. 👌
M. H.
Fantastic location. Great interior. Restaurant and bar area look amazing. An excellent array of lagers, ciders and ales on as well!
T. H.
Cosy atmosphere and fab service. Amazing selection of gins and the new brie starter is addictive. We will be going back!
S. F.
Superb Jubilee Afternoon Champagne Tea! From warm welcome, excellent service through to super food
C. H.
Very good welcome, excellent food, and dog friendly. Great stop after a walk in surrounding countryside.
G. M.
Beautiful setting.
Friendly staff.
Delicious food.
P. C.
We brought the dog! And were welcomed most warmly. Good food too, served in a very pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.
R. M.
Food tastes nice but portions are small, especially for the price you pay. Most of the staff seem to be either very serious or miserable, except for our waitress who was very friendly.
D. A. T.
Fantastic food, friendly welcoming people
M. S.
What a fantastic place, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, both on arrival and during our meal. The food was delicious and came quickly and hot, and the desserts were amazing plus they have a great rage of beers on draught and cask. We will definitely be back !!
C. S.
Beautiful renovated old building. Fabulous toilets. Very nice but smallish food portions with high prices. Not a budget place but for somewhere nice to go it is worth the higher prices. My only dissapointments were the lack of a sandwich selection for lunchtime. It was main menu only and the lack of waiting staff but in these covid times it is a problem for many places.
L. F.
Had a drink in the evening outside after a bike ride. Lovely weather used the app to order drinks and served quickly. I ordered coffee on reflection should have got an extra shot as I like my coffee really strong. Will do next time due to personal preference not because there was anything wrong with it. Nice drinks out.
J. a. K. H.
Had our Family Christmas dinner at this establishment. We've used them in the past. Always a good meal with good choices for all tastes. Engaging staff who are very pleasant.
P. C.
Excellent food and service. Great venue. Could not fault it
C. N.
Just had a fabulous meal at the manor. The place itself is beautiful, even the toilets are nice and spotlessly clean. They are also big enough to social distance in which is great. The staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive and when we arrived we saw that dogs are allowed in too which made it even better. We will definitely be going again and taking our dog with us. Would have given 6 stars if I could.
N. B.
Fantastic food, location and service....and as you can see children friendly.
J.
As always, a great experience. Service, food and drinks were excellent in a lovely setting. A mushroom Bourgogne pie was the plant based option for the day and was very tasty. Not the first time visiting, and won't be the last.
B. B.
Lovely food and atmosphere at lunchtime, cosy fireside table with three adults and one child, all good food with chicken goujons for the little one, two seabass and one cheese, onion and potato pie. Sides of cauli fritters and halloumi chips. Desserts of sticky toffee pud, choc brownie and waffle. Everything very good, service excellent, would definitely come again.
J. S.
Great customer service on a really busy evening. Lovely food and a happy buzzy environment. Perfect place for family and our fur baby!!
S. A.
Excellent Sunday dinner of roast beef with an enormous Yorkshire pudding.
M. H.
Totally delish food - THE BEST fish & chips I have ever had! Yes, you heard it right - THE BEST I've EVER had! Great, attentive and very friendly service. Can't wait to go back. 5 'Greavsies' out of 5!!
R. J.
A lovely meal here for a special celebration. We were a group of 12 including young children and the staff were helpful and attentive and the food was delicious … thank-you.
p. k.
Love going on a Sunday for their choice of roasts. Nothing too much trouble for the lovely staff. Great for special occasions too
G. D.
Lovely venue and wonderful food. Great for Sunday lunch.
A. D.
Brilliant food and great customer service.
M. E. C.
Disappointing personally, having eaten there many times before. I chose the pork loin dish and there was just 2 potatoes that clearly had been sitting around a long while - quite tough but maybe we were a little late (6.30pm) to expect more? No apple sauce (as mentioned on menu) and generally an uninspiring plate of food. We paid £70 for 2 x 2 courses along with 2 glasses of wine so not a cheap dinner.
j. c.
Excellent as always, however tonight I noticed my first pint of leffe was £6.00 and my second was £6.50! I didn't notice anything about a happy hour or price increase after 6.15pm .
A. B.
Been coming here when in the area since the 1980s. It still has the same feeling and look.
Best Fish and Chips - Ever !!!
D. G.
Second time I have been and enjoyed each time. Spacious pub restaurant with a menu that changes daily. Choices range from traditional to tapas and light lunches. My favourite area is 'the library' with the various books on shelves. Lovely food which is beautifully presented. Friendly staff who make you feel welcome.
B. T.
There is a time honoured quality about the Haighton Manor that hits you the moment you turn in off the road, a feeling that you are coming to a special place, perfect for special occasions and the interior feel, staff service and food only further enhance this.
We haven't been to the Haighton Manor for a long time but it once again lived up to its reputation for a quality, relaxed experience. The food was exceptional and, whilst one often hears comments like "it's the best food I've ever had", I can honestly say that it has been a long time since I have had such an enjoyable, interesting, perfectly presented and cooked meal. And the prices are very reasonable too. For a sweet I had the BlackBerry roulade with bramley apple sorbet, with white chocolate shavings. It looked and tasted superb, so much so I had to have two.
It will most certainly be top of my list for future occasions, special or otherwise.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Haighton Manor and hope that anyone reading this give it a try as you will most certainly not be disappointed.
S. B.
Really enjoyed going to Haighton Manor with our family last week, first time out in a year. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. They will get our custom again. All the guidelines were followed and I felt safe in that environment.
L. T.
The setting is lovely, what a stunning place - got a lovely feel to it, very homely. Food wise, I had two courses in the conservatory, if I'm honest it was ok. The food was pretty standard, not overly enthralling which was a bit disappointing. Staff were lovely though, very attentive and patient. I do think the starters are a wee bit over priced too, £6.95 for some deep fried brie seemed a bit extortionate. Overall, I'd go back for a drink as they had an amazing array of beverages on offer, but I might skip the food.
D. B.
All great. Fast service. Good food!
K. H.
Just beautiful, the setting the service and the food all exceptional
A. S.
Absolutely beautiful, everything was tasty, crispy chilli beef, best I've ever had and I eat a lot of Chinese. Lamb shoulder with Dauphines potato, wicked. Cheese onion and potato pie, divine. Even the feckin chips were good. Best food place I've ate in for years and will be going again
P. V.
Not just the (almost) remote location is amazing but also excellent food and impeccable servis. You can find out for yourselves!!
D. C.
Lovely views, great meal.
G. G.
Great food and great service by very friendly staff . Warm and welcoming atmosphere in lovely surroundings and will definitely be returning ,
D. B.
We've been going to Haighton Manor since Brunning & Price took it over.
It's always been good, but not good-good (not in the same league as Aspinall Arms and Clog & Billycock) in all honesty.
But last night's meal was absolutely superb (Game suet pudding), it was fantastic. Fantastic beer on also (Moorhouses White Witch).
Really impressed and hoping it stays as good as this.
S. C.
Great food ,good service .
J. R.
Visited twice recently and the food has been excellent. Beautifully decorated and lovely ambience. Highly recommended.
a. b.
Lovely food, good menu and 4 of us all enjoyed what we had. Staff were helpful and friendly. Catered for 2 dogs too!
W. W.
What a lovely place! Had a very nice meal here for a friend's birthday. Really beautiful surroundings and the decor suited the age of the building. The meal was delicious, I had the lamb and would highly recommend it. Mid range price. Service was good the staff where friendly, will definitely visit again
S. S.
Staff very welcoming, good choice of food. Went with 3 friends, we all made different choices from the menu, and all enjoyed our meals. Will definitely return.
A. W.
Thank you for looking after us ladies today, we all throughly enjoyed a little bit of normality catching up.
The outside marquee was great for a little shelter from the elements, your staff were lovely, as always, and the food on the lunch menu was amazing.
Ps. That Chocolate Brownie was divine! Hope to see you again soon.
S. L.
Covid measures were thorough and didn't impact the excellent ambiance. Staff were friendly and attentive with service arriving promptly. Spirit selection was excellent with good whisky and gin, beer selection is average.
Unfortunately, the food quality doesn't match the service or the ambiance with slightly overcooked and under-flavored food being served.
m. d.
Pet friendly family restaurant. We had Sunday lunch for 14 no complaints at all, good service 🐕🦺.
J. D.
We’ve just got back from a wonderful time at Haighton Manor- everything spot on! The welcome, the food, the drinks and the warm friendly service. I can’t wait to go back.
T. W.
Arnie and Murphy enjoyed their Sunday lunch here.
P. P.
Great food, great drink and so atmospheric. Already planning our return. Loved it!
A. G. V.
Great service, great location great staff!!
The food here is exquisite and the staff couldn’t do more for you. Will be back and will be introducing to my family and recommending

We wanted somewhere special to go for a family meal, and by chance came across Haighton Manor via google search. We loved the place, great gardens, views, outside seating area, and inside was stunning too. The staff were friendly and the service first class. The food was bought to our table really promptly and we all had something different from the menu, each meal was perfect. We very much hope to visit again one day soon, and would definitely recommend.. Thank you x
O. B.
Really enjoyed my visit to Haighton Manor today. My girlfriend stumbled upon it during a walk a couple of weeks ago, and was very impressed.
We took a trip out today for lunch and I feel I would be doing hr staff and venue a disservice if I didn't award 5 stars.
Great selection of cask, Lancaster blonde for me with my starter. Wine list is very good, I'd go as far to say extensive for a venue such as. Large malbec with my main, which was certainly of good quality.
Great menu today, food was faultless, simple, classic, tasty, whilst well presented and in good time.
The measures put into place during our new normal are above and beyond, and everything is very clear. We felt safe and really enjoyed our time here.
Would happily have paid full price and will do in the future. 2 new customers here - one of the perks of the government scheme 👌🏻
Great work all.
R. B.
Decent enough place, little on the expensive side though. However dont get me wrong the food was very good. I had a rare steak which was cooked exactly how I like it, and the dessert was good too. The place itself is very large but has a nice atmosphere. I would probably eat here again, it would be good for a large group.
D. M.
Lunch was lovely and well cooked . However, in an empty marque a family where seated immediately behind us. Less than 1m apart. Covids not gone away. Please try and maintain social distancing. Did spoil my birthday when I had to mention it.
S. M.
Lovely building, dining in great conservatory overlooking gardens and countryside. Service always very good standard and food delicious. Prices probably slightly above average but worth it. I had asparagus and poached egg starter which was delicious, followed by melting lamb shoulder, beautifully cooked veg. They hav good selection of wine too.
L.
Really lovely meal, great service and atmoshere. Food excellent would highly recommend 👌
R. B.
Nice experience, good food ,a bit slow on service, an ok place to go for a good meal.
J. B.
Attended a wedding reception . The meal was excellent. The staff were also well organised particularly the young lady right to the end T /coffee and the cake. Thankyou .
D. H.
Lovely food and service. We went for a celebratory family meal. They gave us a separate room as we had a 2 year old. So much easier as he could wander about without us feeling we were disturbing other diners. Lovely venue, would definitely go again.
P. S.
Excellent food at reasonable prices. Friendly and efficient staff. Very comfortable location.
A good selection of ales that are well looked after.
S. T.
Very impressive building. I can understand why couples would like to have their Wedding/Reception there. Very good menu which made it difficult to choose!l All the meals we chose were well presented and tasty with a choice to have a normal or smaller portion. The waitress was efficient and friendly.
F. R.
Nice meal quite a limited menu and their app and website are not up to date with the menu. I was looking forward to leek blue cheese and potato soup but it wasn't on the menu when we arrived. Very good service. Portion sizes vary my chicken was very small but my husband's lamb as enormous. Lovely deserts.
J. M.
We have been to Haighton Manor today for lunch with our elderly mum who hasnt eaten out in months due to the Covid restrictions. We all had a thoroughly lovely time....the food was spot on.....the salmon and smoked haddock fishcakes were beautiful and the lemon mess dessert was to die for. Special mention must be made of Becky the waitress, what a lovely young lady, attentive but not intrusive, service with a massive smile. A credit to your Restaurant. We will be back. Thank you.
C. B.
Lovely warm country pub serving great food. Just right for these cold wet winters days.
W. Y.
Visited Haighton Manor for the second time. The first time during the Summer, the second time yesterday. The food is amazing! Hats off to the Chef who knows how to make a proper Steak & Ale pie! Us Northerners love a good pie! As commonly served these days, this pie is not in a bowl with a crust on top. This is a proper pie with a wonderful slightly crisp pastry, lovely mashed potato, mashed carrot and greens! Highly recommend! My friend had a Steak Burger with grilled bacon, Cheddar, Coleslaw and proper chunky Chips! He enjoyed his food immensely too. The atmosphere here is just so welcoming. Warm, friendly and attentive but not overly attentive. Roaring open log fire that was very welcome on a chilly November day. Thank you for another great experience. My friend and I love this place. No doubt, we will be back!
H. G.
Wonderful food in a charming location! Staff very attentive. Great gluten free menu options too.
d. b.
Good food and a nice environment. The linguini was enjoyable.
P. W.
Excellent food and services, thoroughly enjoyed the large family meal sat outside under the gazebo
F. S.
Picturesque location and beautiful building.
I have visited this venue many times and each time I have enjoyed the food, the staff are helpful and polite and the restaurant is comfortable and beautiful.
The only reason I dont think 5 stars are in order is because of the prices for food and drinks. I understand the upkeep of a historic site is expensive but the prices charged for standard cuisine is way above what I would expect to pay.
H. R.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect. On arrival the staff confirmed our online booked table, asked for drinks order and sat us down. We ordered food after a short period. The staff were very kind to ask us if we would like some tap water for the table. This is very rare at most places as we normally have to ask. Food portion sizes were huge so great value for money.
F. H.
First time here. Made a massive impression on us. Staff were outstanding and the food was another level.....need to go back ASAP x
M. H.
Went for a Christmas meal here on Saturday evening. Good atmosphere, crowded, but not unbearably so.
The food was not too bad with good portion sizes, served hot, though the service was slow. Friend on our table didn't receive his main course until we had finished ours (though they offered this to him free by way of apology).
Be careful with your bill, we spotted a £40 bottle of wine added to our bill!
K. B.
First time and not disappointed; the food was excellent.
R. W.
Lovely venue even on a rainy day. Great service. Good menu. Food well presented and great taste. Good value for money too. Relaxing atmosphere, most enjoyable.
P. W.
My cheese and onion pie was delicious, sadly my brothers battered cauliflower was raw. Also building work going on and making the dining area very noisy.
E. R.
Good food, great service, nice atmosphere! Dog friendly which is a massive bonus!
H. C.
Really nice top end pub grub. Not cheap but worth it.
A. G.
A spacious and characterful country pub, staff were welcoming and cheerful. A good selection of ales on tap. Only slight disappointment was the olives and that no bread was offered. But the main courses were very good plentiful portions well presented and at a reasonable price. I would definitely go again.
M. I.
Service lovely, care under covid, food little over priced for what it is, nice, but could be better for the price tag.
Chefs have changed over in recent times. It's a chain gastro pub, maybe a dose of reality in terms of price structure.
Staff wonderful
P. R.
great food and staff will definitely go again.
V. S.
Delicious food, great service and we liked the homely ambience
M. H.
Lovely meal, went for a lunch time meal. Menu had plenty of choice and prices were reasonable. Good choice of drinks available. Staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Food arrived promptly after ordering, the portion was sufficient but not overwhelming.
All in all, good time had by all, will be returning.
F. S.
Fantastic experience. Beautiful setting serving an outstanding choice of excellently cooked fresh food.
Staff are efficient and friendly whilst providing impressive customer service.
I would recommend this place to both groups and those looking for an intimate meal.
S. K.
An incredible building set in a beautiful location. A perfect place for a afternoon drink or weekend bike visit. It's a dog friendly place with outdoor siting area. A good selection of beers and very friendly staff. Very busy so booking a table is often a must.
C. H.
Went today for Sunday lunch. Excellent food and service. My turkey and sticky toffee pudding were delicious. Lovely log fires, next time I go I would ask to sit near one to be warm and cosy ☺
J. D.
Excellent food...lovely restaurant. Staff really helpful
S. L.
Great place had a meal with family everyone enjoyed
M. P.
We took a party of 16 for my husband's birthday. For a large party the service was excellent, the food served hot and the food itself was very good. Chloe, our server, was brilliant and very attentive. The atmosphere at Haighton Manor is really relaxed and friendly and we will definitely go again.
D. S.
High capacity operation but well run and very welcoming. Great food and a equally great bar with a wide selection of beers, gins and other delights. The gentle aroma from the open wood fire is glorious.
h. m.
Lovely place and amazing food. Staff are excellent too.
P. k.
This is an absolute pearl of a place! The menu looks fantastic it is a beautiful old world pub in gorgeous grounds. It is also dog friendly which is a huge bonus. Definitely a must-go eatery with friendly staff and roaring fires. What more does one need?
M. B.
Had lunch with a group of old school friends. Had a fantastic time. Haighton Manor is a lovely place. Good food and very friendly staff. Have booked another get together. Have been here many times before and have always enjoyed it.
R. C.
Food was great and service was pleasant too. The table was too small for our group so we had to keep the wine on the floor. The steak my friend ordered was also over cooked so he had to send it back. Otherwise it was a great meal and lovely environment
S. C.
Having used this venue for a function (Coffee Morning) twice and a meeting with The Space Centre Charity, I can honestly say you cannot get better hospitality and willingness to make it happen from Chris and the Team at Haighton Manor. On a personal level I have eaten here many times - never a disappointment. The venue alone is fab, but add great food, and service and a welcome that you are long standing friends, you feel totally at ease and relaxed as soon as you walk through that big old door.
N. B.
Fantastic meal, food was delicious, staff were friendly, and we all felt safe in these COVID times.
R. N.
Stunning Manor House. Wonderful food and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Pet friendly and would highly recommend. Great for vegetarian options as my mum is a picky veggie but she loves the Manor. So much so, she was disappointed when she thought we were going there for her birthday, but we'd actually organised a surprise party nearby! I think she'd have preferred the Manor!
A. F.
Very Nice Food , Very Clean Established, Very Friendly And Helpful Staff , And Very Reasonably priced Food And Drink , We Went Today And Will Be Going Back Again , Highly Recommended , By All The Party That Attended Today A1.....XXX
A. B.
A wonderful pub with a good range of food. We came here as a pre-booked pay off 35. We had pre-ordered our food. The food came out on time and was very hot and looked just cooked. The staff were great.
As part of the pre-ordering some people had got in contact to see about non-dairy items. The menu is available as one with possible allergens identified but not quite enough detail. When contacted the pub had made good suggestions and basically said if you can identify what you want we might be able to accommodate it. All was wonderful when it arrived.
C. B.
Beautiful 17th century manor house set in gorgeous gardens. A generous beer garden, ideal for families on nice days. Inside doesn't disappoint, really well proportioned rooms, stone walls, slate floors, incredibly atmospheric.
Menu is imaginative, not the usual pub grub, but does have some classics. Superb bar, with knowledgeable staff.
Staff make you feel welcome and are quietly efficient.
A tiny bit pricey, but not outrageously so.
Highly recommended for a special classy comfortable meal, or just a drink.
D. B.
Excellent food. Great surroundings. Friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff.
J. K.
Great food, friendly staff.
P. B.
The family's of Marc and Gemma Bardsley would just like to say a very big thankyou for making their wedding day reception so very special and a very big thankyou to Steve and staff for accommodating us and for their extra special service throughout .
N. R.
Excellent service. Top quality rooms.
S. c.
So glad this place has changed hands. Now its such a lovely country style pub, huge beer garden, and large garden for children to run around in. Great selection of drinks and also an extensive food menu from bar nibbles to sandwiches and Sunday roasts. Would recommend it for those looking for somewhere nice to eat and/or drink, even if you've got the kids with you!!
D. T.
We visited here for a family meal having not been for a few years and were delighted with the experience. A lovely refurbishment, an excellent menu and first class food. Very impressed, will definitely be back soon.
S. L.
Beautiful location and fantastic old building. So clean and very friendly helpful staff. Good mental reasonable prices. Well worth a visit
J. S. (.
Had a lovely early evening meal with close friends did not expect to be in a room full of families as we are all over 60. The meal was lovely but not portion size for the price the manor is part of my history spent quite a few celebrations there over the years. Still had a great time with our friends as the people make the evening . Will not be in a hurry to go back again
M. M.
We visit once a week & only go elsewhere for an occasional change. It's a beautiful and relaxed environment in which to sit, the service is attentive and genuinely friendly, the food is excellent and served in decent portions, and there's a fantastic range of beers, wines and spirits. In terms of the 4 key elements of a pub restaurant experience they get it spot on every time
T. M.
Fantastic service and felt very safe 👍
R. W.
Family mid-week treat. Food and service were both excellent and we'll definitely come again.
m. m.
Really enjoyed the night out, (first night out in five months) . I had the shoulder of lamp and it was perfect. My wife had battered cod and chips with mushy peas, and she said it was excellent. Also Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker was in first class condition. In all, a really enjoyable night.
C.
Very good pub. Food is superb, staff are great and wait times aren't extensive. Just wish it wasn't as pricey
L. S.
Pleasant place to eat, food was fantastic. Not sure about the inside as we ate outside. Wasn't offered any condiments however.
J. H.
Food delicious ... service on the whole good
R. T.
Fantastic food and ambiance. Love it. Definitely recommend.
B. S.
We had the Haighton Manor take away menu. Sensational. Such good food, really delicious, all sensibly and individually packaged in recyclable packaging. My steak and ale pie was fantastic, needed a brief blast in the microwave but this didn't detract from the flavour or texture. In the darkness which is this COVID calamity, we going to turn this little ray of sunshine into a weekly treat. Keep it up Haighton Manor crew!
G. B.
A little disappointed. I had the tempura sea bass starter. It was very nice, with a tasty salad, but the salad was a little on the large side for a starter. My partner had the chicken liver pate, it lacked in seasoning and flavour. I had the mixed roast beef and pork as a main. The beef lacked flavour. My partner had the half roast chicken. It did not seem roasted, more deep fried. The vegetables were over cooked and the roast potatoes had a peculiar taste, not unpleasant but not like we are used to. Plenty of food on the plate, but please do not substitute quality for quantity.
T. P. L. A.
Nice clean large open plan at the bar, good selection of ales.
Big beer garden for the kids to play in and they love the play tractor haha. Nice views of the ribble valley too. Will be returning to dine next time.
M. F.
Lovely setting, great food and friendly staff
A. R.
Went with colleagues for an end of course meal. Great venue, massive selection of spirits on display beind the bar. Usual selection of cask beers and a choice of hand pulled beers. Also spacious, family friendly and has outdoor seating.
Recommended.
N. W.
Poor value. Food ok but expensive for quality and portion size .
Burgers dense and over cooked.
Desserts lovely but £6.95 !
Service good and COVID protocol excellent.
C. H.
Lovely place, great terrace and gardens, really good food. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Service is very good but may be a little slowish for large groups. Overall, highly recommended!
A. H.
First outing post lockdown and Haighton Manor have the safety and enjoyment of their customers spot on! Well organised with spacious table planning, one way system and of course the same wonderful food. The staff were brilliant and looked after us so well. Thank you!
S. L.
Cosy pub with real fires, comfortable seating ,good range of beers and other drinks. Great menu with some interesting offerings on the daily menu. The pigeon breast on beetroot risotto was a triumph. They also serve good coffee.
T. R.
Love this place. The food is always good and the staff are really attentive and always pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. Its kept its charm and it just has a lovely feel to it. That coupled with the idyllic location just makes it a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
C. J.
Nice place. Staff friendly. Ordered fish pie. Was the size of a fish eye ( £14.50!!). My portion contained two bits of salmon as one prawn BUT a HUGE BOILED EGG!!!!???? What's that all about? Should have been called Egg Pie. I can't eat eggs so I wasn't impressed. Felt cheated. Won't be going back.
I. A.
Lovely place to eat with friends. Lovely food. Difficult to get taxi service afterwards (May have been a one off though)
Would go again. Good overall.
F. G.
This is my first visit to this establishment and cant believe I've not been sooner !
The food is of excellent quality I had the slow cooked belly pork with black pudding and cider jus which was just amazing ! The service is very friendly and efficient and not rushed in between courses. Haighton manor is a beautiful place with plenty of history and has a lovely charm about it, please try it, you wont be disappointed !
R. T.
First time there. Really enjoyed the meal. Lovely place. Staff excellent. Food great. Will go again.
L. B.
Such a gorgeous place. The food as always was amazing and the service just great.
s. m.
Lovely setting and helpful staff. Menu though quite limited and rarely changes. Food is great but portion sizes often small.
M. D.
Great setting in a brilliant location, with amazing food and drink to top it off. Had a few meals here now and each time it has been an experience well worthy of recommending!
J. H.
Highly recommended. Went for a birthday meal with my partner last night. First visit since the renovation. Decor stunning, the food delicious, service super and would have scored 5 stars but for the tea. It was teabag, not tealeaves. HOWEVER it was explained to us that with tealeaves people complained the tea went cold before they drank it. I suggest giving the option.(like all the coffee options) People who are not used to tealeaves do not understand that it's all about the subtle flavours and not the strength with leaves. We will definitely return but will not have tea.
D. W.
Although a little bit remote this is an excellent venue. Plenty of room for kids to run around outside on a nice day.
Food is excellent quality and reasonably priced.
Staff friendly and helpful.
I. M.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here as did the rest of the party. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be recommending this restaurant.
J. G.
Varied menu and good food. Pleasant surroundings and interesting building. Staff attentive and efficient but not intrusive. Coffee and a small pudding after main course is an excellent option.
T. H.
Really good home made type food in a lovely setting.
Staff helpful and attentive.
Not overly expensive for the quality.
I had the shoulder of lamb and it was fantastic.
L. H.
Great food and great service. A little pricey but worth it...... Little lunch time hack, have the sausage roll with chips.... The sausage roll or cheese roll is only 50p per inch!!!! And lovely
U. O.
The views here on a bright sunny day, are simply sensational. Meals are also great quality. Prices may not be for everyone but this is certainly a classy cosy spot worth visiting.
J. L.
Went for our first wedding anniversary. Excellent food and good service . This was our third visit. We had the private dinning room last time for my special birthday 😁😁
C.
Service was good,food was ok
D. B.
Haighton Manor… just inevitably always improves each time I visit, and it has since MR White sprinkled his touch of class over it.
I haven’t tried there offering as yet but, it’s defo on the cards, and soon.
Gorgeous backdrop of stunning views for those photo opps, and wedding album to come.
K. J.
Perfect. Beautiful food. Fantastic staff. 10/10
L. H.
Everything about Haighton Manor is superb. There are 7 cask ales for the beer enthuiast and decent lagers. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. 7 of us had the sunday lunch, pork, beef, chicken and the nut roast. All faultless with perfect veggies.
F. J.
Gorgeous building, lovely ambience, great food and service by a roaring fire.
A. K.
Great place to hangout. Loved it.. Although 1 star less to 5 because there is very less options to eat.
J. B.
Have met friends here on 2 occasions . We do not live locally. The food was excellent! (The last time I had the mussels - superb!) No complaints. The staff were very friendly and accomodating.
5/5!
E. J.
An excellent evening out in a delightful venue. Our food and drink was top notch and reasonably priced. Surprisingly busy in the bar area but we found a comfy corner to sit and wait for a table. Rebooked for next weekend.
K. A.
Visit on 57th Wedding Anniversary.
Excellent Menu
Excellent Food
Excellent Service
S. T.
First time visit ( and during COVID restrictions) absolutely wonderful! Beautiful food in a cosy welcoming environment. Not the cheapest place but worth it. Will definitely visit again.
C. C.
One of the best fillet steaks in Preston, there menu is very good and the draft is great. Staff are very helpful and kind. A great place to eat and meet friends.
W. R.
My go to country pub, tremendous. Great atmosphere and food and lovely staff.
P. B.
Very well presented pub, open fires, impressive bar area and cosy seating areas. Food always good here, as is the service. Prices not the cheapest but reasonable considering. Well worth the trip out from Preston!
A. S.
Grandchild loves tractor and open space drinks pricey but worth it for view.
C. W.
Excellent restaurant, perfect setting, friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit. Inside and outside seating areas, pet friendly you can even bring your horse, no joke I'm serious...
R. B.
The food is always very good with big portions. It's an interesting manor with a comfortable atmosphere. Good selection of ales and beers too.
P. B.
Hands down the best pub I've been in for a very long time. As mentioned before the staff are helpful & attentive but the place is magical - real wood fires & great food & beer - if you're reading this review to decide if the place is worth a visit then stop reading & get drinking
O. C.
Excellent Food and Excellent Service. Good choice on the menu which changes often. All staff are very friendly.
R. S.
We enjoyed a fabulous meal and were looked after by amazing staff who did a fabulous job during these 'different times
The food was delicious, the starter was delicious and amazingly my wife's vegetarian main option was just as tasty as my burger (I am not a vegetarian option fan)
We will return as we had a great time and can't thank the staff enough for making our night so enjoyable
N. G.
Wow, great pub. Nice food. Various local beers, kind of place that makes me consider moving back to Blighty from Sydney. Red tractor in massive beer garden, what more could you ask for.
D. O.
Very nice food, really friendly staff, great experience all round 👍
K. B.
Lovely place great staff fantastic food.

M. D.
Lovely countryside pub. Great menu with lots of choice and excellent food! Cosy inside and big outdoor garden area too. Dog friendly!
B.
Amazing beautiful place. Elevenses was very over priced and terrible portion size. Staff didn't seem bothered at all. Shame really as its such a beautiful atmosphere and location. Food is very overpriced too unfortunately.
C. L.
Lovely atmosphere and food great quality.
T. S.
You always know when you come here your going to get fabulous food, great service in a really relaxing environment .

Food was amazing and the staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, even when we deviated from the menu
J. G.
Beautiful building and great atmosphere. There is an extensive menu, the food is delicious and it is served by pleasant and friendly staff. Altogether a good place to visit.

Great food and company for the evening, compliments to the chef Adam 👏👏
H. p.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Lamb dish is still awesome
S. S.
Pub grub, but the best pub grub I've had for a long time. Flavour packed. Service was good and quick too x
c. s.
Amazing food! Not the cheapest but worth the money!
J. H.
Food ok but expensive compared to local pubs. What's on offer matches pubs but priced above probably to pay for gardens and recent refurb. Nice to sit outside, and the gardens are pleasant. Not one to visit repeatedly for me.
C. F.
A really nice dining experience in the middle of the Lancashire countryside .plenty of choice on the menu and a varied amount of drinks. Staff pleasent and attentive. Car park outside with plenty of spaces
C. M.

S. H.
Staff very friendly .food really nice It was the last night before lockdown .tables not set as I expected for a lovely birthday meal for my partner Little disappointed Will go again
S. P.
We frequented the Chester pubs owned by this chain like Old Harkers Arms and The Grovesnor Arms as I am from Chester. Worsley Old Hall and the Wharf were our next loves and imagine our suprise when we found out Brunning and Price had a pub opening near Preston where we now live. Had my Birthday there last year and go every few weeks. Fantastic food, excellent knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond to assist my wife with her dietary requirements (dairy and wheat). Superb choice of beers Love everything B&P do. Keep up the great work Haighton Manor.
A. M.
Lovely service and the food tasted amazing.
G. T.
Best food I've tasted in years. I had steak burger & wife had chilli beef salad......the best ever
J. R.
Brunning & Price chain. Spacious, decent quality but a bit pricey.
M. K.
If you know Brunning & Price pubs you will know what to expect. This is the usual high standard of food and drink in an interesting old Manor house with lots of nice areas to sit and just have a drink or a meal.
M. W.
Fantastic place staff brilliant always smiling food fantastic would go again ,soon,.
G.
The food is great, the pub looks great and the location is amazing, plus there is always a free table outside! Brilliant black pudding sausage roll too
I. R.
Impeccable service and building, inside and out. Fantastic food and reasonable prices. I cannot find fault. Will be returning.
P. H.
Food a bit pricey, had a sandwich but think they were using up the last of that days food. Salad garnish was just lettuce, 5 crisps! And generic white loaf for the sandwich. It was ok, but won't be rushing back
I. T.
Great service. Great atmosphere. Very enjoyable night out.
S. M.
Great looking building inside and out. Very polite staff and lovely food. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
D. W.
Lovely surroundings and pleasant staff and the meal was spot on, definitely go again and also going to go on the rambling, when people meet up have something to eat and drink (bacon butties yum and coffee) go with or without dogs and its all good fun, fresh air and friendly atmosphere xx
D. H.
One of the best pub restaurants in the area. Great atmosphere and fabulous staff.

A. P.
Beautiful setting over looking the fells. Had a lovely meal sat out in the sunshine, so relaxing
S. H.
Very nice restaurant friendly staff you are well looked after
S. M.
Pretty relaxed place, good posh pub food. Dogs made welcome in the bar areas. Been many times and plan to go back.
M. T.
Never disappoints, great food, great service. Outdoor covid ordering via smartphone easy and seamless.
M. B.
What an absolute gem, delightful surroundings and decor, lovely open fireplace, great food and service and good value too, only negative was they didn't take cash which was annoying, cash is still legal tender!
A. H.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, lovely staff. Can't recommend highly enough.
So good in fact we decided to get married here!
A. R.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Felt COVID-19 safe too.
J. O.
First visit for a birthday Sunday lunch..rather noisy at first but did quieten..service was good considering how busy staff were..had 3 different roasts..all very good..cheese board and half sticky toffee pudding with coffee and an irish coffee ..we three enjoyed our visit and would come again.
V. A.
Good high standard pub food. Service givers knowledgeable about menu and drinks with a good range of gluton free foods... one of our favourite places.
G. B.
Very expensive. Nice food. Nice setting, on its own on a country lane.
S. D.
Down on business, taken to this place for a meal, fantastic place to eat. Food was superb, great peaceful atmosphere. Well worth a visit...

Hidden historical building. Its been 30 years since my last visit but it wont be long before my next one. The menu options are individual and when i was there had seasonal "Game" specials. Inside the building reminds you of a 17th century manor house with stone floors, open fires and beams
