Stopped for dinner with my sister who has a young daughter, it’s a good place for young kids, it’s super cheap and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately I found the dish I chose pretty bad, but overall the experience was not bad.

Came into the poachers this afternoon for a family meal and it was amazing. Service was fast and the staff were very friendly, food was served to us hot and it tasted very nice. The surroundings were very clean and there was never any mess left around. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

Nice place, easy parking. Has tables & large screen TV outside. A bar area then a restaurant area inside. Staff were friendly and service was quick on a Thursday afternoon. Seating felt comfortable & spacious,able to sit & have conversation easily. It was pretty quiet though so not sure what it's like at a weekend evening. It seemed a very welcoming place though & well organised.

Had a large table booked for a family birthday celebration. We were placed right next to the door leading to the play area. It was noisy and smelt of kids sweat. Couldn't be moved as it was busy. The food was OK. They didn't have onion rings for my chicken dish but didn't offer an alternative. Won't be rushing back. Sorry

Food wasn't bad here. I had a mixed grill and the portions were huge. The service was fast and it was easy to order drinks via the app. Spent a few hours here after having drinks with family and had a really nice time.

Food is OK but is as described. Staff, when they were there, were great ( I will add that they were changing shifts so....) plenty of parking. Toilets clean and easy to access and plenty of stalls. Would use again for for quick easy lunch or dinner.

The wacky warehouse is.. Ok? Lots of older kids blowing off steam, not really caring about the smaller kids. I shudder to think about the ball pool balls that my baby was happy to put in his mouth. Probably good for his immune system? Took a while to get in as there were no staff around and you need to be let in and out, so that wasn't great. Cheap way to spend an hour. Food and drinks are cheap and cheerful.

Smashing wee pub for a weary traveller to eat in. I had a big plate special, a chicken new yorker. (4 chicken breasts, chips, peas and coleslaw) for under 11 bucks. The waitresses are all super friendly and attentive and should be recognised also. Its only I pity I live over 300 miles away as I'd be in here all the time. 😊

Not bad value . Its more of a fast food pub. The food is excellent value for money with great daily deals . Definitely worth a visit the fox opposite is twice the cost for the food ??? 2 min walk from the premier inn . Nice staff . Can get a bit noisy but then you can retreat to the fox for a more relaxed pint .

Went to the Wednesday quiz night and was served by the lovely Shannon and later by Emma. I was served promptly and shannon went as far to put a little drawing in the top of my guinness! It's the little things :) this place is the ideal spot for a few chilled drinks or a good long night at the quiz nights. Will be back 100% couldn't recommend enough :)

Lots of reasonably priced food to choose from in big quantities. They have different deals for each day of the week. When I went on a Thursday I was able to get a free starter or dessert. I had really worked up an appetite this day and managed to eat the burger sizzler combo which is nearly two meals in one. It was a good combination of foods for those times your not sure what you want so you have everything instead.

We had a family meal (6 of us), everything was excellent bar one of the main courses being a little disappointing. This was handled extremely well and only added to the positivity of our visit. Came on a Sunday to have a Sunday lunch and was very pleasantly surprised! Wasn't too busy and plenty of areas to sit, no queue at the bar, staff were friendly and could use blue light card for discount. Food arrived quickly and the beef was so soft and tender, roasties were crispy and Yorkshire was crisp. I thought it may be all microwaved but it was really good and tasty! Just what we needed. Will visit again.

Went yesterday, generally good, two of us had the classics deal - 2 meals for £10.99 - 1 was really nice, the other was really disappointing - how she didn't send it back I don't know... It was the lasagna - as dry as a bone and stuck to the bottom of the dish... Service was good and the app was definitely good... Not sure I'd go back in a hurry as I would to risk being disappointed like that. Excellent measurements for covid-19. Made a booking via telephone to ensure we could get in; got on time and had to registered for track and trace before being taken to the table, they have some tables out of order with signs on them to keep social distancing, were given a disposable menu and given the option to order and via the app or to order at the bar and then drinks were brought to the table. Nice atmosphere in general. Both we ordered a Bacon cheese burger with side piri piri sauce to spice up the burger. Great price and excellent portions. Presentation and taste were 5 starts. We recommend the Poachers.

Visited the poachers this weekend and the service was amazing as it always is when we visit. The food was amazing I had the steak sizzler and my partner got the full monty mixed grill, the staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Very cheap and cheerful. Food was very good value for the money. The smaller classic meal was sufficient and filling. I had to order at the bar but when I got there there was nobody on the bar and the 3 staff that were stood nearby looked at me and then carried on chatting. Eventually one of them shouted for the bar person to come and serve. She was very apologetic but I was still annoyed at the others. In short food great, pricing just right, staff need to learn about customer service.

Poachers is located next to a Sainsbury's and an Aldi. This is a great venue, always get a warm welcome from Lee, Lisa and Christian and everyone else. The food is always great and brought out fast and there are some good food and drink offers as well. There is a smartphone quiz every Wednesday that is free to play and an entertaining way to spend your evening. There is a wacky warehouse as well which is handy for families, and a play park outside for when the sun is shining!

Came here with my cousin for his Birthday recently. Proper pub grub and good value deals on food and drinks. I come here a lot! Me and boyfriend visited again at the weekend as they also do Big Plate Specials and Fizz weekends. £9.99 for a bottle of Prosecco, served ice cold in a silver bucket on ice in champagne flutes! Good value. Well worth it for a treat or if you have something to celebrate!

Excellent Pub/Restaurant right next door to Purple Rooms hotel. We were visiting Preston to celebrate our Granddaughters 18th Birthday. They accommodated 18 of us, all having different meals, the service was brilliant, all meals arriving at the same time ,(even though we hadn't re-booked our choices) The food was hot & tasty. We also enjoyed our breakfasts there (as we were staying next door) The staff were very friendly & helpful. Unfortunately I can't remember all the names of the waiting staff but needless to say they were all brilliant & hardworking 👏 The one young lady who seemed to be around most of the time was 'Shannon' ❤ Nothing seemed to be 'too much bother' and I must applaud the 'management' for the quality of staff that they employ. I/we will definitely be frequenting this establishment when visiting my family in Preston. Congratulations on the food/cleanliness/atmosphere & Staff. I couldn't find fault with almost anything, although must say that 'Sunday Lunch' was a bit of a disappointment but Hey Ho our party meal was fantastic + Breakfasts were amazing such a Great Menu to choose from. Arrived at the poachers this morning, the restaurant was lovely and clean, the staff all friendly and very welcoming, I was served by Alex, who was very pleasant and helpful. I had the breakfast (big plate) was lovely and hot when it arrived, looked and tasted amazing, i have nothing bad to say about any of it. I would highly recommend the deluxe hot chocolate 😍 Will be recommending to friends and family, and I will definitely be returning.

Great place. Friendly team and delicious food. Definitely a great place to take the kids. Mine love it! There is colouring sheets to keep them occupied at the table and also a wacky to burn off some energy. Visit at least 2/3 times a month never had a bad experience

Friendly, lively and very reasonably priced...everything your expect from a hungry horse. Perfect when staying at the Premier in across the road for a bite and a beer after work. Cheerful, efficient staff. Loads of large screens(even an all weather 100-150inch screen outside if you want to sit by a fairly busy dual carriageway so good for smokers) for watching sport. Food comes out quickly even when the restaurant is very busy. Theres a huge screen upstairs in the 'sportsbar' for big matches. Toilets are clean

Not been for a while so we tried the new menu out. There's offers every day except Friday -so it wasn't too busy. The new glutenfree menu is available from staff and has quite a good selection on and even desserts!! I wanted Salmon but wasn't available so got half chicken which was quite small and a little dry for my liking, jackets are small but nicely baked. My friend had the 3x 5oz gammon, egg and pineapple with jacket and salad, a good choice I think for next time! We had apple crumble with vegan ice cream. Prices have increased. Staff are friendly and helpful. Use the APP and order/pay from your table! You can order drinks too. Allow time to download it if you haven't before going. Check it's gone thru and try again if you've not been charged/emailed receipt. It also let's you split the bill if you use PayPal.

Booked a table for outdoor drinks and bar snacks. Was welcomed to our table really quickly, ordered from the app which was painless. Had two kids with us so we were seated right next to play area which was good. Food and drink was decent quality. It was ok...I was confused about meal.. thought I had meal for extra but it was only extra steak..very confusing.. No whisky that was on the menu and paid for on the app...no refund as alternative was cheaper 🤔🤔🤔 Went for breakfast my full breakfast was fine Other half toast was not cooked...sent back and returned cooked.. scrambled eggs were like rubber. Worst eggs ever tasted could not be eaten..

Regular visiter to the Poachers & have been for many years. Food & service is always spot on. Being so good does mean the pub can be very busy at times but it never effects the level of service. Would highly recommend.

You know what it’s like, when it’s cold, rainy and miserable and all you want is a good pub, a pint, and a proper burger. Yep, we all know what that’s like. On such a day we went to The Poachers in Bamber Bridge, somewhere we’ve been a few times and have never been disappointed. Tired, hungry and soaking wet, it was a relief to quickly find somewhere to sit on a very busy day, and even more of a relief to get my pint! Now, a pint is one thing, but it’s the food I’m more interested in and as I said, I was craving a burger. So I quickly ordered the Sunday Best burger, and the wife chose chicken and waffles. The food arrived quickly, brought to us by a very friendly lad. The food was hot, delicious, and devoured, the pint didn’t last long either. All I can say is well done Poachers, job done!

A little bit disappointed this morning planned to have breakfast but they have changed the opening times from 8:00am to 9:00am other people have turned up but left as doors locked, phoned them from car park to be told that they have changed opening times, not a problem with that but it would help if you changed the information on the web site before hand, and avoided wasted journey.

The steaks were terrible though, my mrs got the same as myself and a friend rump steak, tasted like liver, no succulent taste to it atal. Just cheap whatever it was. They really do need to get some decent meat in this place, I've had breakfasts here before and they are spot on especially for the price. I'm just being as honest as I can. Wouldn't reccomend any steaks from here 100% a no good. Nice decent pub/restaurant though.

Yesterday's special was Curry & a Pint £5.50 and a bottle of house red £5. So for £15.50 you get 2 curries, 2 pints and a bottle of wine. Unbeatable. Well done.

We hadn't been here for ages and didn't realise it is now a Hungry horse restaurant. We had the over 60's special at £4.70 for 2 courses and the food was lovely. I had the scampi and my husband had the mac and cheese. Puddings were yummy especially the chocolate brownie. Even though you get smaller main courses we were both full. What a bargain lunch. We will definitely go there again. If I have one small negative it was the long wait for the puddings.

Great food. Asked for 2 12oz steaks done medium rare and that's exactly what I got. A lot of the chain pubs can't manage that. The staff were polite and attentive throughout our visit. A Wacky Warehouse is attached (but separate) to entertain the kids. There is also a separate adults only bar, so people just there for a drink don't disturb the diners. To be honest I went here not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Recommended.

Out of all the hungry horse's we've eaten at as a family over the years, sorry to say Poachers is the worst & we've visited loads in different towns. Not safe at all was shown to our table in middle of the room staff & customers all walking past our table with orders, i asked to move tables was loads of free tables was told we couldn't have a booth table there was 3 available empty! It wasn't a option & we would mess up the seating rota. Sat for a few minutes, was about to leave when she came back & said we could have a booth but have to be gone in 90 minutes. We gladly accepted was happy to be seating in a booth no one else was walking up & down it was safe. To be honest that table shouldn't of been situated there it was the walkway both sides of the table for staff bringing food & drinks & customers walking past to get to & from the bar. I spoke to a young girl who was staff about it she agreed & said the woman who seated us there was the manager. I was shocked a manager with that responsibly for the seating area & you put that table there 🤔 Food was good staff was friendly but we wouldn't come back to the Poachers. Phantom winger is the best by far.

Came here for food. I like it here because the pub is properly separated from the restaurant. A) because people can drink in peace (Inc me when I come without my toddler) and b) it's quieter when you eat. Food is always good here and even better since it's been took over definitely. Plenty of tables and places to sit down. Menu has a variety of meals and deserts and it doesn't cost a fortune. Even the meals 2 for £8 are good. There's a wacky warehouse here which is handy and there are separate tables in the far end with 2 tables, each with a small TV. Tonight one had football on and the other had Disney cars on which is a god send when your kid has a short attention span :). Staff are friendly and helpful and the place is clean Inc the toilets. Good parking also.

The play area is FANTASTIC, you can sit and eat/drink comfortably but see your kids at all times. The Area is locked off so no fret of kids being able to leave the building. Unclear offers caused confusion. Food did not come out all together. One meal came, then 5 others and one of the children didn't get theirs until 15 minutes after everyone else. Bar was under staffed. Took ages to get served drinks. No table service, but then they started taking orders from other tables as we were leaving.

I always enjoy going to hungry horse restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good menu with lots of variety- kids menu, suitable booths with tv's for young children to be kept occupied too. There is also a wacky warehouse which is attached to this restaurant .

Poachers can be busy and the layout is not the best but you can understand it's original design. The bar for food is immediate upon entering from near the little play park outside. For getting drinks it is in the same place or in the section for no children to the right. The food tables filter off to the left with all different hiding spots. It feels cluttered. The tables can be a but sticky and it is beginning to age. Besides this the food was spot on and the service was excellent so its limitations are made up for. For those wanting to use the ever so small wacky warehouse it is connected at the end of the pub.

Love the bombay bird burger its a chicken burger with two chicken fingers topped with tikka sauce chillis and onions you have to try it. They have good offers like bogof on burgers on a friday too. Staff are friendly and everytime ive been its been fair busy yet the service and wait time on the food wasnt affected

Waited 20 minutes at the bar to order food (in a queue, there simply weren't enough staff to cope). Food came quite quick though, and waiting on staff were pleasant, if a little vacant. Standard pub chain food, nothing to write home about, but left me full, which is what matters.

Very good service from the staff, polite and nice, plenty of seating but some could do with some lights so people can read the menu`s. The food is very good but my only criticism is that the onion rings were a little soggy and could do with being a little crispier, apart from that well worth a recommend.

the staff work very hard, it is always full. there is also a small play centre. this is really good, for keeping the kids something to look forward to, there is also a outside play area. the food is good, if you do have a problem they do fix it without a problem,yes i would go back so i hope you try it out.

The poachers was warm and welcoming,I was with my son his wife and children. First of all I ordered fillet steak, they'd run out, so tried one of the combis one part was missing so ended up having scampi and chips which was ok but not what I really wanted.

Our local when we visit family in Bamber Bridge. The extensive menu / deals suits a group of varied ages and tastes. Service is always excellent, and I have found any issues are dealt with graciously and immediately. I would recommend it to groups, families and those staying in the nearby Premier Inns.

It's no different than any other larger chain pub/eatery. Just catering for the masses. Food cooked from frozen, not fresh. The usual 2 for £10. It's good if you want to take the kids out for something to eat, whilst you sit and have a couple of drinks. Not exactly cheap though, and could do with a regular clean. In two years time it will no doubt have another revamp and be known by yet another name.

Arrived hungry and ready to eat. Ordered our food and waited for it to come. It was whilst waiting that our ears were assaulted by the quiz which we had to endure at the same decibels as a fighter aircraft taking off. We couldn't hear ourselves think. People left due to the noise. The food when it came was of a good standard.In particular the puddng was very nice even though just ice cream for 4.I recommend that you don't go on Wednesday (quiz nite)
