H. P.Great pub to go watch sport. They have 2 tvs showing different matches. They also have a big projector as well for matches. Lovely staff and good alcohol. They have a dart board and a pool table.
W. W.Lived in Reading all my life and never been to this pub. Came here today with my partner because we got tattoos across the road. We were both pleasantly suprised, unfortunately with a limited menu due to awaiting a delivery we was limited to food but a member of staff was polite and accommodating and we made it work and the food was delicious! The bar girl was very nice and polite in assisting us with securing our bikes and bringing drinks to the tables with a smile. (The one with the great eyelashes! 👍🏽😊 Will definitely come back again! Thanks 😊

D. S.Ordered my food and mentioned once that I have dietary restrictions. Ordered and sat down with my drink. A few moments later the bartender came to my table to verify what if ordered and made sure everything was correct. I'm impressed by that level of service.
When the food came out it looked good and tasted even better. The interior is comfortable. While I was there it wasn't very busy.
Overall it was a great experience and I'll be going back.

Wanted to write a review just to say how brilliant Amy was at her job.
Nothing was too much to ask for, and all done with a beaming smile on her face.
Also she was extremely funny and had me and my partner in pieces with laughter.
Would reccomend and will definitely be returning. The prices were all very good too, so I never felt I was overpaying for anything

I was very impressed with the place. Prices were decent and above all the service was its best attribute.
Especially a young lady named Amy. She was superb and stopped at nothing to make sure we were happy satisfied and had us laughing.

S. R.As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Perfect place for a pub lunch. The gentleman tending the bar was friendly and charming.
I had the sausage and mash, while my partner had the festive burger. We also had the Mexican cross-hatch fries to share.
All dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. The fries were fully loaded and tasty. My sausages were slightly crispy on the outside while succulent and flavoursome on the inside. My partner gave high praise to the festive burger saying it was delicious and "so good."
Plenty on offer at the bar too. Doombar was on offer this day so that's what I had.
All in all, The Crown is a thoroughly enjoyable pub experience. Highly recommend.

D. C.This pub has changed recently, although I greatly miss the pool table I have to say they have done a fine job in renovating the place. A small but good selection of beer, the food is excellent and the staff are friendly. I ordered a burger which was one of the best I have had. Unfortunately the burgers don't come with fries, I really dislike this trend. I ordered a side of fries and I have to say they were fantastic, so I will forgive them!

I booked a table for 5 and we had to wait a while for our food (around an hour), so the manager decided to give us everything for free including the food and two rounds of drinks. We were happy to pay for at least the drinks, but the manager insisted we didn't need to pay for anything due to the wait for the food. Very impressed at this generous gesture given they were pretty quiet at the time.

When staff realised that my mum could not enter the pub the barman walked to the river and borrowed a friend's ramp that they use for the boat. What an absolute star! Could not thank him enough

Popped in for lunch today, friendly service, great real ale, but the burger that was served appeared to have been microwaved - the bun had a soggy base and cardboard-like top. Ended up eating the burger and fries and left most of the bun. Will stick to eating elsewhere in future.

I had to make an emergency stop to breast feed my baby girl, after she unexpectedly woke up and was starving whilst I was out walking our dog. The staff were so so kind and understanding, helping me with the pram through the pub door, even while my daughter was screaming blue murder, finding me a quiet seat and making a big fuss of the dog whilst I fed. Really can’t thank them enough for being such a warm and welcoming port in a storm! Sadly I couldn’t stop for a lovely glass of wine too! 😄 Makes such a difference and lovely to have such a great pub, with such wonderful staff and locals on our doorstep! Thank you!!

M. H.Friendly pub just before the Caversham Bridge. The beer is gud and well served by helpful staffs. Parking is limited and perhaps it’s better to park in Chester Street pay and display car park and make your way to the pub in five minutes.

Nothing interesting here food-wise, so I’ve lowered my rating accordingly. The beer selection is average at best.
The beer "garden" is a bit fumy and noisy being built next to a garage and facing the busy Caversham Road/Bridge Street.
