Beautiful pub in a beautiful area! Fantastic service and the food was delightful! Thank you to Arfon the Manager for welcoming and looking after us so well. We will be back

Really nice food and friendly staff. Nice that they had the Christmas menu alongside the normal menu too.
I read quite a few reviews before I went which said about having to pay to park. You don’t. You do need to register your number plate inside the pub though or you will get a ticket. But it’s free which is great!

This is a gem of a find. We had a large family birthday celebration and the staff (Lucy and Lucian, and all the ones hidden in the kitchen beavering away to produce our food!) made the whole experience very enjoyable and special. They were so helpful & cheerful, attentive and efficient. The food was very good value, well presented and tasty, with a very wide choice with something for everyone. Each dish was cooked correctly (crisp chips & deep fried items, the steaks and venison medallions cooked just right)
And they take Tescos vouchers! The place was packed from 12.30pm through to 2.30pm on this Saturday. Make sure you book! They have a car park, but you must put in your registration at the bar. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thanks guys!

Lovely pub, some lovely high quality food. Also has a room to hire for functions. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great customer service. Nice outdoor seating area and a spot for a few cars to park round the back. I'll be back to try more of the menu

For a chain pub, it's decent but that's all I can offer. Food is marginally better than a 'Spoons, the staff however are where this place goes up in stars. Every member of the team was friendly, helpful, smiley, and polite. The service was quick and the food hot so these guys are really doing their best and doing what they can to hold up great service in a difficult climate. 'Ping' food is what you'd expect from a Chef & Brewer but the place is friendly, welcoming, and if all you go for is a bowl of chips and a cold beverage then you won't be dissapointed 😉

We had a lovely family meal and were very well looked after by Bonnie who was attentive and cheerful. The food was very enjoyable too and was good value for money. This was our first meeting since Christmas so thanks to Bonnie for making it an enjoyable experience for us.

Had dinner today, which was fab from beginning till the end. Big terrace with heaters and lovely atmosphere. Even after 630pm you have sun! There is a car park for customers too. We didn't have reservation and they were fully booked, still manager organised kindly table for us. Very quick service and friendly staff who checked on us throughout the evening. Food was delicious and fresh. Definitely recomend sea bass with scallops and chicken pie. Prices were pretty good too. Definitely would come back once be back in Reading.

Cosy place with friendly staff and traditional British dishes. Through the summer you can use big beer garden. Good selection of beers and drinks, tasty food, especially like their pies.
They recently updated lunch menu, as I have been visiting for years, got slightly disappointed that fish & chips and burgers are not on the lunch menu anymore.

Great food, a great atmosphere, very reasonable prices. I had beyond meat Koftas with salad and homemade humus. The flavours were incredible. Would have loved a pita to mop up the humus though

Perhaps 4 stars, but my family enjoy coming here, and it is reasonable value for generally good quality food (you can also use Tesco vouchers, food only).
Just tried the brunch ... tasty, but the Squashed Avocado with Poached Egg was stone cold. One sausage is a bit tight in the English. Too much fat on the bacon for me, and I would appreciate more of the (small) mushrooms, which also went cold quickly.
