This is an ideal place to be if one is sports-minded and enjoys watching a match on the telly. There are many screens in this place, so one is not likely to miss a goal or a try.
If one wants a more quie, atmosphere, the area downstairs was less crowded. I don't know if this is always the case.
The burger choices are really nice. I decided to try the vegan burger and it was really nice. I recommend the vegan burger and I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
The members of staff who took our order was really friendly and enthusiastic. He stated that he had only started to work there, but he appeared to be extremely confident and knew the menu. One has to order upstairs and there was not an overly long wait for the food to arrive.

Called in on passing. They were rolling out a new menu, and pub was done up nicely to celebrate. Food was lovely and well presented. Good service and lovely food. Very good well kept ales with an amazing choice of spirits. Will definitely return here.

Lovely pub! Has so many deals on food and drink you can’t go wrong! The food is amazing came out on time and I personally enjoy the two for one cocktails!! They’ve got lots going on this week for the jubilee as well! Looks like a lot of fun!
M.
Nice simple, good value pub food. Sensible veggie options.
Staff really pleasant.
My only very minor grumble was we asked for food recommendations, but the guy has only been there a few weeks, so had not tried much of the food yet. But on the plus side, it was honest of him. I'd rather he said that than BS.
Nice to see Hogs Back TEA :-)

Came in for breakfast this morning, was delighted by how friendly josh is very helpful and personable.breakfast was perfect. I don't know who cooked it but 10/10 from me. What a fab experience... well done all
M. S.
Other than spilling my coffee all over myself, the team dealt with it incredibly well, food was great. Met the new Manager, great to hear all his plans for the monks, definitely going to bring my mates here!! DJ on Saturday, hope that Michael is working too as he is a fitty 😍
j. e.
Incredible location! Came last night for drinks, had some amazing cocktails and DJ Stef was amazing! Pub was busy up by the main bar which was a repeating sight considering this pub has been really quiet in the past! Definitely going to make this my weekend go to at least for pre-drinks!
D. M.
Enjoyed this venue within easy reach of Reading Station. Pleasant atmosphere, great selection of beer, very nicely cooked food. Pity I had to paddle to use the toilet.
T. D.
Had a great time in here today, Josh was able to attend to all drinking needs and made me a cocktail which was off the menu. Absolute jem and tasted stunning! Thank you Josh!
J. H.
Came in yesterday, greeted at the door by what I can only assume was the manager. Very friendly and the balloons out the front really caught my attention. I enquired about this and found out they had a new menu launch. Went in to check it out and I became very surprised by how much variety there was. I never thought I’d get a vegetarian meal in a pub like this and yet, I enjoyed Katsu Chickisnt and it was amazing! I will definitely return if it stays like this!!
L. O.
Theres a new manager who just taken over called josh, suggested a cheery cream cola, the best cocktail i have tried in a while!! Plus its its 2 for 1, £6.49 for two cocktails, Cant go wrong, the monks is on the up and up! Must come in and try!!
J. H.
Perfect bar for presley, and the bar tender Josh was brilliant! Served exactly what I asked and was very professional and efficient. Great service!
S. M.
I had the Hunters Chicken Pie which I enjoyed. My Mum had the Steak and Ale Pie, the meat was too chewy, the pastry base was so hard trying to cut it was a chore, and the pie itself was not hot enough. My Dad had the Mixed Grill and everything on the plate was bone dry, a bit of gravy wouldn't of gone a miss and £3.30 for a orange juice is a bit much don't you think
I. P.
OK pub if you want a cheap meal, lots of choice on the menu and good portions, bar service can be slow at times, could do with a complete renovation, scruffy decor and tables. 5/10.

This is a Stonegate proper pub located on one of Reading's high streets. Its recent refurbishment has really given it a new edge! Music, TVs with sport on everyday, live music or DJs on the weekends... Open from 9am till late, it offers everything from great tasting full English breakfasts to craft beer, burger deals and 2-4-1 cocktails. There's a wide variety of wines, spirits, and beer of course, and the food quality is more than satisfying. Staff are very friendly and will welcome you and advise you on what to pick if you're unsure or need a little help. Definitely a must if you're in Reading!
A. H.
Exceptional service from staff member called Jason, made my experience at this pub so much nicer!
H. C.
Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the monks retreat reading, the bartender Owen had quick service despite a busy bar & was polite not to rush us
Would recommend
M. P.
Great pub with a wider selection of beers, lots of TV screens to watch sport, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Cheers!
K.
Really enjoyed an evening out here recently, staff on point, served fairly quickly. Guards stationed by the door were lovely and polite. Good atmosphere all round.
D. N.
Decent pub in the centre of Reading close to the rail station. Good range of ales and lagers. Also varied food menu. Loads of screens showing latest sports.
K. L.
Great place to have a quick bite before you head to the Reading station or waiting for the shops to open when you are in town. Breakfast and tea/coffee are not expensive. Friendly staff. Usual Witherspoon price tag.
M. R.
Considering this is no longer a wetherspoons, they've managed to keep the same busy atmosphere and roughly similar pricing. Love popping in here for a pint or two!
M. C.
Has the feel of a small local pub but it is actually quite large and right in the center of Reading and near the station. Perfect for meeting friends who don't live locally and have to get the train in.
R. W.
One of the few places in Reading Town centre to have a quiet pint and soak up the sport on the many large screens.
i. E.
Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean, good pint at very reasonable price.
R. Y.
Great pub, sports bar, location, atmos, decor, service and value. Food could have been little hotter in places though. Still highly recommended... we will visit more often...
D. L.
It’s sad to say that a nicely renovated Pub looses based on the food quality. We‘ve had a broad choice of classic Pub food and none was particularly appealing. The burger looked like from a 99p place and the others weren’t winning on taste, texture and presentation either. This is no rocket science - get your quality in order and this will be a Pub well worth to recommend. Especially with the competition so close by. We decided to leave and get our next drinks elsewhere. I cannot say that the staff was unfriendly. Both ordering and serving was as you would expect.
H. M.
This lovely pub was refurbished recently, sadly losing those near life-sized robed monks who had been gaily swinging from the ceiling.
The food and service are good and the wait time reasonable. I have enjoyed quite a few of their dishes. If you fancy a good 'pub grub' fare, give them a try!
J. M.
Great revamp...friendly staff and great.music on Saturday night ..very refreshing for Reading..
K. M.
A very decent pub. Good prices, decent food. Great place to watch sport if you can grab a booth. Nothing that will blow your socks off but far better than you expect when you walk up (looks like a Wetherspoons but isn’t, and is definitely a level up). Would be 5 stars but the food can be hit and miss sometimes.
S. D.
This place has a great atmosphere and is very comfy for a relaxing drink, some food and for reading or socialising with friends. The staff are not always friendly and I ordered Brewdog, which was off when I got it back to my table. When I raised it with the lady at the bar, she stated that it looked a bit cloudy, but as I didn't say anything when I bought it, there was nothing she could do. She didn't care. It was my first time here. I'm unlikely to be back.
P. T.
Poor crowd with football on. Beer not as good as other venues in town. Closed early.
Glad that Monks Retreat responded to my initial review and took my comments on board.
G. D.
Cool pub close to train station on the left side of M&S. No place to park, goog Wi-Fi some TV's to watch sports great beer variety cocktails and Vino.
N. F.
Greet local Pub in Reading, vast selection of drinks. Great to watch the football ⚽
R. K.
Friendly staff, good prices. My friend‘s food took over 30 minutes to arrive because they mixed up an order… would have been nice to be served at the same time since we ordered together. My food was cold when hers arrived. Also, I think 2 of the 4 pieces of chicken goujons weren’t fresh… there were greyish pieces inside… if I return I would only order vegetarian dishes.
T.
Great pub. Great atmosphere.
Sort out the ice machine!
c. l.
Love the drinks and the food, chicken wings is delicious
J. R.
Nice pub with good staff!
K.
Not enough staff for a Saturday night. But the staff they have are great and work hard
I. A.
Nice pint good service, very reasonable prices. Bar staff are really friendly.
R. G.
Price is cheap, so you get ok breakfast but not more
R. P.
The service was impeccable. Been before but really stepped it up and the new food menu is amazing. Didnt know I could eat do much!! Can't wait to go back.
E. J.
Great place, staff are incredible, new gaffer is class.
M. B. c.
Staff are top tier and definitely the place to go in reading !!
S. L.
Nice place good for food. Very friendly staff. Good covid restrictions in place. If you like sport this place is also perfect for you lots of tvs and booths. They do a online quiz on Thursdays which I enjoyed doing each week. If you want random flavoured gins there bound to have it they have a very large range on the bar. Clean & tidy very nice atmosphere.
J. l.
Fantastic work on keeping this place clean and safe during these times. The fish and chips is amazing and looks so perfect on the plate. Great value for money and cheap drinks. Cocktails 241 is amazing deal to. The quiz was great on Thursday loveley Atmosphere! Will be returning.
W. P.
Very specious and have good seating area for more privacy too. The prices are good for the drinks too and would definitely come here again soon.
I. K.
This is a decent pub with keen pricing.
It was great to be somewhere that people were having a good time.
The beer was pleasant
A. C.
Group of us went on here once the pubs closed on Saturday night from 11pm to 1am where their '2 for 1' deal on cocktails went down well!
Reasonably priced drinks so do recommend their 'Pørn Star Martinis' 🍸🍸🍸 with vanilla vodka, passionfruit liqueur and prosecco fizz!
Cosy ambience with lots of space and friendly, efficient bar staff ... only a short walk from Reading train station on Friar Street so ideal as a city centre venue.
L. H.

What a nice place to visit! The staff are super friendly and interactive. Before we used to visit but then we stopped we heard it was under new management and had to give it a go and well we was not disappointed the food was amazing they had a large range of drinks. Everything was clean and tidy and they had lovely Christmas decorations. We will definitely recommend.
S. L.
Love everything about this place the team make you feel like part of the Monks family! Food is delicious and great value for the quality. Large range of drinks ales and spirits. Well clean and tidy well looked after I would return and Highley recommend!
A. S.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and food was lovely
B. B.
To call this establishment wonderful would be an undersell, it's hard to put into words the impact this gem has had on my life. Great value drinks, a stunning decor and bar staff that simply have that special something. That X factor. I've never left with anything less than a deep calm in my heart and a smile on my face. Simply the best.
A. T.
Friendly staff and good beer selection. At present have to use the MyPub app to order beer and food (they will take orders at the table but it helps them to use the app)
Food ok, some interesting things but a lot not available when you go to order, I imagine this is just post lockdown restocking issues.
J. W.
Fair priced pub. Sky sports available.
R. M.
Good value, good choice of drinks and food.
K.
Solid pub in the heart of Reading, near to the station if you wanted a quick cold one before leaping on a train. It is pretty big with televisions for watching sport and it extends right to the back of the building. The bar staff are normally friendly and the same goes for the bouncers. Same kind of feel as the Wetherspoons in terms of clientele but far friendlier waiters and servers etc. Wetherspoons in town (Back of Beyond) is an awful place with the atmosphere of a funeral and the most rude and obnoxious managers. So if you are choosing between the two, it's definitely this place.
E. D.
I have been going to this pub for a number of years. Great service, even when its busy you get served quickly. The beer is good, great atmosphere and friendly staff. A good new outside area.
C. F.
Nice pub, great prices
T. J.
Great place for sports loads of TV to get a good view. Food is well presented come out pipping hot. The service was excellent. Staff are so friendly and helpful.
A. R.
Great breakfast at a good price
C. H.
Only had a drink here but staff very friendly and drinks really well priced
R. W.
Always sad connotation coming here knowing it was a spoons in a previous life, have popped in on the odd occasion between trains and did so again this morning, have found food here good before and today no exception, lovely fresh sausage sandwich and nice coffee for all 2.99 ! Although I didn't order myself the staff were very nice and the place still fairly clean by pub standards. Good value for money and I would come here again .
P. D.
Enjoyable pub visit. The pub was nice and clean with friendly staff at the bar. Good deals on food, and indeed it was very good too. Great pies from the menu and include a drink on a Wednesday. Smashing meal! Drinks could have been a bit less expensive, but you can't have everything... Worth a try. Comfortable surroundings.
S. L.
Perfect place if your a sports lover nice atmosphere all round staff are super friendly. There was a lot of drink choice we were served by flo today and she had very good knowledge on all of the cocktails I would definitely recommend.
M. C.
Good food. Good beer. Good prices. Good crowd. Good TV's for watching sport. All makes for a very good pub
D. W.
Stopped in here for a quick working lunch whilst at a days meeting with a colleague. We were both extremely impressed with the lunch deal. The Club sandwich was one of the best I can remember having!!! And the fact it was just £5 with a drink and chips as well made even more impressive! Perfect bite for a quick half hour break!
M. B.
Good service, quality ales at lowest prices in Reading. Could do with a few more smiles from some of the male bar staff but you can't have everything. Place needs a refurbish and spruce up. Very popular with us oldies. If you don't like the working class probably you will feel more at home in a pricier place paying up to 50 percent more for less choice and quality.
B. H.
Lovely place, clean, family friendly and food is great and fairly priced. Also it's really close to the train station and oracle shopping center so it's easy to pop in for lunch and get back to work. Enjoyed each one of my visits!
It's sometimes hard to find a table during peak hours. It's almost always full.
J. P.
Absolutely fabulous cheep and cheerful better food and service than most places I go. To Owen was great guy can't wait to go again plymouth lad on tour
L. W.
Friendly staff, good drink selection, quiet a few dirty tables and bar, basic food, value for money, lots of TV screens for sport etc. Like a wetherspoons but a different company.
Ticks the boxes
P. M.
We've abandoned this place now. Beer is good enough and prices are good, but there are TVs everywhere. I really mean everywhere. Every table on the wall has one and theres others around for the main area. Not for us any more. We used to have a regular nice chat and drink in here but we cant hear each other any more over the sport. Oh well.
D. E.
Came in to watch the 6 nations and have some food. Normally a wide range of real ales but only doombar and tea on tap. Also food disappointing and out of chicken wings! Normally much better all round. Hopefully will be able to give a better review next time
U.
Used to go there for food with friends regularly. The food is good and you get a decent portion for what you pay. The sundaes are delicious and the do great offers. The pub maintenance needs to improve though, as you are likely to find a sticky table on every visit.
K. S.
Fab place. I go herre on a regular basis and it has such a great atmosphere by far the best pub in reading. Very clean toilets and tables. Lights and music at a good level. Would highly recommend
J. B.
Nice pub, lovely staff. No longer a Wetherspoons pub. Food was well cooked and pretty fast to the table. I particularly liked to separate tv in each booth. All showing the same but it's good to have one close.
About 5 mins walk from the railway station and more reasonable food prices than the Great Western pub next to the station.
They'll let you out in between trains if you ask the guy at the ticket gate.
There's outside seating too.
N. W.
Really enjoyed lunch here. Visited twice. First visit ordered the bacon and cheese burger offer and it came within ten minutes and was hot and the chips were fresh, the second time I ordered the fish platter which again came within an acceptable time limit and was piping hot. The service was standard but prompt. Overall was a good place
L. G.
Went to monks retreat had breakfast very nice and allso wonderful staff allso very helpful and kind
R. Y.
Great pub, friendly staff, good food....
J. F.
Pretty damn OK, actually. Not a fine dining experience, obviously, but for a pressure-is-off affair absolutely fine. Clean (including the condiment trug - thank you), comfortable and friendly. A burger and large glass of white for under nine quid did the job nicely today. Tomorrow I might spend more elsewhere but change and rest, as they say....
F.
Very friendly staff and manager, and tasty food. Would highly recommend this pub!
G. N.
Ambiance and service are nice, food not exactly there. My beef pie lacked the main ingredient, and quite a few items were missing from the menu and from the tap. However, we had a good night.
J. G.
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff
S. O. R.
Nice pleasant place. Great Ale house. Crafted beers and other beers and ciders. Nice food here cheap enough casual place. Great for groups university students. Midweek shoppers. Next to Court house. Outside seating. Reasonable priced. Busy the weekends. Weather spoon brewery.
m. w.
Early dinner ok, but then gets loud.
S. C.
Great pub. Used to better when it was a wetherspoons, don't go here for a cheap pint or food (go spoons) and they're trying too hard to be 'cool' but for quite an elderly audience. HOWEVER, there's good quality sports screens all around now, which is its one selling point over wetherspoons pubs.
N. L.
Good little pub run by the Stonegate Pub Company who also run Yates and the Slug and Lettuce chains. Because of this they have incredibly cheap food on offer which is not the best you will ever have but the price reflects this. The beers are nice and cheap too. You can get better food and drink elsewhere but you'll pay more.
M. S.
Best service table in Reading! Especially if your server are Alex and Owen...
The best combo you can ever ask for a good pint and food for a day out with friend
m. n.
It's not a bad pub and the atmosphere is good. However, the bar staff are really slow at getting drink orders together. Speedier service and it would be a great pub
R. A.
It is what it is, an old man's pub by day and evening, a students pub by evening and night. Drinks are really cheap. Best place to start for a night out. Food is nice. Especially for the price. They play music now so helps to get you ready for your night out. Cheap doubles and cheap shots
H. C.
Visited this pub at the weekend after bad experiences under previous manager ..... and wow what a difference I couldn’t fault it ! Food was amazing and promptly served with a smile by the staff . My partner loved the attention for sports and was very impressed by the table service during the game . We will definitely be a regular visitor whenever we are in town next
F. L.
Great atmosphere here, complying with COVID restrictions, staff very friendly and fast table service. Highly recommend the Burger & Drink deal, fantastic value for money!
B.
My favourite pub in Reading...reasonable priced beer/cider and food, plenty of TV's in 4 seater booths to watch the live football and a big screen centrally at the bar. Super hot black haired barmaid thrown into the mix too, can be hard to concentrate on the football 🤪😂😂😂
L. G.
Done a great breakfast, very clean and staff were friendly. Definitely go back 👍
G. V.
A really good pub with reasonable prices. Best breakfast in town by far. But the tables are sticky... always had to ask to get them cleaned!!!
B. P.
Without going into too much detail there was an issue with my partners food. First they brang the mains before the starter but after rectifying this they then bought cold food for my partner.
We didn’t ask for a refund and decided that we would send her meal back to be remade and we would eat at separate times...after all we were very hungry! With the manager understanding that we came to eat together but weren’t doing this (without asking) he kindly brought us a refund for the 2 meals and was extremely apologetic. This manager deserves the upmost respect for his understanding and apologetic attitude and after deciding I would never eat here again he has actually changed my mind!
F. M.
Generally good food and usually a 4 star from me but today's fare - a burger, was a bit disappointing. Fried wings were their usual good though.
M. L.
Excellent and quick food. Burgers were fresh and have flavour, chips were crispy, nice atmosphere and even though there was a minor meal mistake they fixed it fast and let us keep the mistake items.
P. S.
Without doubt our favourite eat & drink establishment in Reading.
S. S.
A good selection of ciders. Decent no nonsense food. A vast improvement on the dismal weatherspoons establishment of before. One Bad Note. This outfit pratice 'event pricing ' a nasty rise in prices when big events on. World cup semi today, England (will win), prices up. A dirty practice. Not to pay staff extra of course Stop this stonegate!
d. p.
Very good service, good food. The atmosphere is great and it is ideal for football. They have Sky and BT sport's which is ideal. Good selection of beers and ales and reasonably priced.
P. H.
Typical Wetherspoon. Great value good food a few dodgy looking customers 😅but always warm conformable with obliging staff. Can't beat the combination of value and mixture of age groups.
S. S.
One of the best place to hang out ..
J. S.
Great place very clean and tidy pub. friendly staff. Reasonable food and drink prices
p. s.
Nice place. Called in for an all day breakfast which seemed to take ages. The football was on and it was quite busy but still shouldn't have taken as long as it did.
M. G.
It's a nice pub with good food and service and is well priced. The only let down is it can get busy and hard to get a table sometimes so u have to time when best to go there
A. D.
Absolutely wonderful bar, this will be my first watering hole when I come back to Reading. Well done people, couldn't have found a better friendly place. See you soon xx
B. F.
Absolutely exceptional establishment. Top drawer. It had my dad and I fooled; we both thought it was a Spoons! The only thing that gave it away was the uncharacteristically skinny chips. Same price as Spoons with a similar menu to Spoons. The only reason why I can't give this a 5 start rating is because it isn't a Spoons.
A. T.
Nice atmosphere reasonable prices. Had something from the menu which was delicious called "dirty chips! "
This was a wetherspoons but is still a worthy competitor since it was taken over.
P. W.
A busy pub in Reading which does have plenty of screens for Sports, football was on when we went. They do food. Good selection of beers.
B. L.
The place looks lovely and well kept, prices are great but I didn't like the food menu. Not enough options for sandwiches and baked potatoes etc..
E. T.
Cheap and friendly pub in a town centre. Toilets are remarkably clean for the type of pub. Great for social events as well as watching the football
L. W.
Former Wetherspoon's pub, but still looks exactly like a Wetherspoon's pub. Good food and beer. Our visit was marred by my wife having her handbag dipped and her purse stolen while we were eating. CCTV was available, and the manager very helpful.
c. b.
Lovely atmosphere. Always able to find a table.the beers are good. Reasonably priced food and drink.sports on the TV screens and love the background music...a really nice touch
N.
Nice and clean. Quite quiet when I visited, but it was mid week. This just meant that only one of the 2 bars was covered. Even after visiting, I'm still none the wiser as to who owns the "Monks 2".
J. B.
A pub of the Stonehouse chain in the centre of Reading. Food & drink is served at reasonable prices. There are also TV screens showing sports events & at weekend live music and discotheque
R. M.
Good priced drinks with reasonable service. Its always super busy so go early if you want a seat. They sometimes have live music as well which is nice :)
l. k.
The service was very slow but had a good time watching football
B. B.
Nice atmosphere, chilled.
Though it's not a spoons anymore it's still quite a nice pub to enjoy a few drinks in with friends.
L. B.
Plenty of seating, but, it's on Friar Street so it can get a bit busy. Pretty standard Wetherspoons. If you want a quieter one, try The Back Of Beyond, which is much more relaxed.
V.
You get what you pay for. The food is not and miss. Quantity over qualot5 for sure. Service varies as well. I don't think their staff actually want to be there most of the time :)) if you're looking for cheap food, it's worth going
D. W.
Good location, friendly bar staff and reasonable prices.
P. B.
Decent boozer but unfortunately there doesn't appear to be enough staff .
j. D.
I had breakfast here before catching the train. Fast efficient service and the food was hot and of a good quality. Not at all expensive. 10/10 Thank you
J. H.
Atmosphere gone downhill since it was sold off by Wetherspoons. Prices are still acceptable but the variety has gone right down especially when it comes to ciders.
L. Z.
other than the fact that the bartender is an absolute bev dribbler, excellent service and excellent beer. 100% WOULD RECOMMEND!
K. N.
Quick table service for food and drinks via the app. Helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Covid friendly
B. E.
Amazing food, hats off to the chef, always a good meal and atmosphere. Kitchen manager even came out to ensure our 'ad hoc' meal was ok 😊
M. S.
Slowly losing its atmosphere.
T. M.
Fantastic service. Very friendly staff. Cheap food and drinks. Very clean.
D. K.
Reasonably priced drinks, and fairly open and light by wetherspoons standards. There are plenty of places to chose from round here, and pretty much the only reason to chose here is the price! Can't complain at this process though.
G. L.
Good service, good beer, would come here again. With no issues.
T. B.
Fast service and very kind staff. Definitely going back again soon!
N. M.
This pub has recently had a refit and is much better for it. Good selection of real ales craft ales and lagers. Good prices as Well.
Well worth a visit
B. L.
Great for a quick cheap drink, food is not bad typical pub food. Good for a night out before you go to a club.
K. M.
Great place, good food / drink and friendly staff !!
Never been disappointed with the service Iv'e received here :) will be returning again soon.
A. I.
It's an ok pub, nothing amazing to bring it out from the crowd. But 2 for 1 on cocktails all day every day made my day even if they had no cocktail list.
R. L.
It's a homely pub with reasonably priced food and a selection of good (if a little pricey) beers on tap. Can get busy at lunchtime.
A. A.
Food was ok, typical pub fare. I assume if you wanted to spend more money the more expensive dishes may have been of higher quality. All in all a typical get them in and out pub.
S. S.
Very good place to eat and sample real ale and lagers in the same vein as Wetherspoons..WiFi didn't work as well as it does in Wetherspoons so dropped a star.
D. B.
Clean friendly staff
F. B.
Good comfortable pub..decent prices.
T. F.
Really good service. Very nice food. Nice atmosphere
G. L.
Such a great place many good nights here with the girls cant wait till you open again 🎊
J. C.
Very nice pub. Close to station food is good and nice staff
d. k.
This pub seems to be somewhere you would go if you were elderly. Its got a very old man ring to it. There is never anywhere to sit when you go in there. Drinks are reasonably priced.
M. H.
Brilliant service 👏 friendly staff 😀 will definitely be returning 👍
A. B.
Not the best Wetherspoon, the burger I ordered was well below expected standard. Bar person seemed very put out when asked to top the glass up.
P. R.
The staff are lovely and always willing to be helpful. Food was delicious and we got exactly what we ordered. Love this place!
I. M.
Good pub, no longer a weather spoon pub. Lovely place that is well furnished, drinks were reasonable but nothing to race about.
L. T.
Nice little cheap and cheerful pub. Pretty decent selection of beers and the food was nice too!
R. M.
Great staff and good real ales. Many thanks for your good service. 😊
C. H.
Decent pub, reasonable prices. They put sport on but no sound so maybe go elsewhere if you want to watch the football.
W. H.
OK for a pint and some very standard food. Usually crowded, but a big place with a wide selection of draft beers and good bar staff.
P. S.
Good food and drinks. Value for money. Hard to get a table. Slow food service
C. W.
The staff here are so lovely always make you feel comfortable 😊
A. M.
Nice fresh beer. Real ales seem well looked after. Quite Sunday atmosphere. Will call in again.
E. M.
