I. V.Very nice place for sporting events with lots of TVs so you can watch them all. The place was clean and the service was really fast, even though it was packed. Security guys friendly and always on the lookout for troublemakers. Enjoyed some proper pints with my friends. Loved it!
I. R.Amazing day watching the six nations. Always plenty of staff checking to see if we wanted any more drinks. When ordering on the app the drinks arrived at the table less than a minute after ordering. It was always going to be a busy day but Oneills got it spot on. Will definitely be back!
M. T.One of the few pubs that has a great atmosphere on 6 Nations day & the table service is awesome. The staff are highly attentive & easy on the eye, as well as always providing homage to great sporting occasions, whether that be rugby, football or even the Olympics.

Lots of screens and tv's dotted about, usually showing two footy games on European nights.
Food available all day, order at the bar, via their app on your phone or at your table, as the staff frequently come around with their ordering system, which you can also order more drinks on.
Lots of seating but also a large standing area along the long bar, plus outside seating if you prefer!
Good choice of lagers, they do shots and cocktails too!
If you're after a quiet night out, this isn't the place.

We only went for drinks, which came fast and were great. Menu and table was quite sticky. We also saw that half of the menu was not available.

J. T.Visited yesterday mid afternoon. The staff were so friendly and attentive we never had to ask for anything they were on hand for everything .the food was tasty and well presented and great value for money both food and drinks .
Special thanks goes to a lovely young lady Georgia. She clearly likes her job and is so smiley and friendly she made our day and nothing was a problem for her... I will definitely be going back !

M. V. (.Went during a weekday during the day. Nice choice of beers. Plenty of large TV screens to watch the sports. Bounces at the door to keep out trouble and to prevent trouble happening. Toilet was a bit yuck, and you had to find it in the basement space that's about it.
K.Nice sports pub situated about 1 minute walk from the station. I normally go past when there is a rugby match on, or after playing tennis nearby, and the food is good, proper rustic pub food (even though it's a bit pricy for what it is at times), and the pub itself hasn't got any pretentions of grandeur which many other pubs have seemingly got nowadays. It has nice black wooden tables indoors, with many screens for watching sports. I've never sampled the nightlife here, but I normally go in the afternoon. The people serving are normally nice and friendly. They have an upstairs too, along with tables outside which is really nice for a sunny day. Only slight downside is that for a pub with the name oneils, there isn't much nod to any irish culture inside!!! Also, it would be nice to see more things like live music or other fun events here.

S. J.Nice Irish themed pub. The music can be a little too loud at times, especially if you're trying to hold a conversation with someone sat the opposite side of the table to you. Food is great and reasonably priced. They do a great pizza too.

S. S.It's a loud and young pub with loads of TV screens showing sports. It's great if you want to watch and the food is fast and there are good choices on the menu with small plates and vegetarian options too. They have a very large long bar so service is usually fast but it gets very busy in the evenings and often plays live music and has a dance floor too. The toilets are not great, they are downstairs apart from the disabled one which is grubby and barely flushes. The downstairs ladies are nice to look at the sinks and mirrors but many of the loos don't flush and are often not very pleasant.

Table was perfect.
Ended up extending our stay and ordered food.
Good choice, plus meal deals and the food was really tasty.
All in all great place to watch a live event and even grab a bite to eat before moving on.
J. N.I really like O'Neill's. It does good food and drink at good prices. It's also in an excellent location. Add in the fact that the staff are genuinely nice and helpful and the bar and loos are generally immaculate and you have an excellent pub. I've spent many happy hours in there and it's always a pleasure to return and see it hasn't changed a bit.

S. F.We only dropped in for one drink but landed up having g a few. I used to come here most weekends but getting a little bit older for clubs now. I also met my partner in here on a Friday night out with the girls and we have been together on and off for 10yrs. I love the atmosphere here & and you get a better glass of people. Drinks are very reasonable and food is good. Also the toilets are very clean & look good. Staff very friendly and perfersonnl.

D. R.We went here to start our night out during a stag weekend. Ended up leaving and coming back as the atmosphere was awesome. Large tables to seat 10+ people. We started the drinking games and the staff not only encouraged them but we're helping with the forfeits. Thanks to them a double neat pimms was forfeit of choice for a good hour.. (thanks for that) highly recommend this place for a mix of club/English pub environment with great staff, music and security.

Great place to watch sports plenty of tv's and projector screens. Not the cheapest place to grab a pint but one of the best places to get a Guinness in Reading.

B. R.We regularly come to O'Neills and have always had a great time. Recently with the World Cup it has been such an exciting place to be, made so more by the brilliant staff. For most of the England games we have reserved a table and the managers and staff (Alex in particular) have gone out of their way to ensure we're on a table with a great view. Even for the semi final, we had a table booked for 8 people, when I asked on the day if there was any possible way of adding another chair, one staff member looked hard to find one to fit our guest in. We really appreciated it. The pub has been so busy for the games and the staff have worked efficiently and so politely, thank you!

D. K.Always busy for big sports matches - get here early if you want a seat, and similarly for weekend nights but they maintain a quick and friendly enough service. Food was standard pub grub, but unlike many places they seemed to get the basics right. Friend once dropped purse here and didn't realise until the morning. It has been handed in by cleaning staff and she was able to collect it before opening time, and had all contents intact which was impressive.

N. B.It has a good level of interior after the refurbishment. The selection of draught beer is excellent in comparison to other pubs of this calibre but a little pricey. The DJ is absolutely dreadful and the women are 2/10 so don't get your hopes up on the weekend. Overall the craic is sick but the experience is lukewarm at best.

S. L.Best pub in Reading. We went here by chance on Saturday unaware it was St. Patrick’s Day and was overwhelmed by how busy it was. Nether the less we decided to stay for a drink, being very busy we were prepared to have to wait to be served but to our surprise we were surved straight away by one of the huge amount of staff they had on.
They were displaying the rugby on the TVs with the sound pumping though the speakers, the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. During the rugby interval they had a Dj playing some brilliant music getting everyone going. We ended up staying here for the entire day enjoying the band who were great and then the Dj who was brilliant.
Really impressed, we will defiantly be back.

I. M.Been coming here for many years and it's gone through a few renovations. The one that it's just had is the best. It looks very fresh. A great look. The main thing is below stairs. The achilles heel was the corridor leading to the toilets and the gents. For years they stank, and I mean stank. Now I can report it is stink free and the toilets have a pleasant aroma. Well done O'Neills!

The mobile app for table service is usually slower than just going to the bar, but all in all its a great spot.

M.The 5stars straight to the exceptional service from the young bar woman each time a few friends and I visit, we try and get down to O’Neil’s at least two weekends a month, travelling for work, this is the only place we see fit to fulfill our evenings without disappointment, always a Saturday evening and the same young bar lady, gets our group orders to us at amazing speed always delivered and served with a smile can’t fault her, give the girl a rise!!
