Great food, great staff, good selection of drink and in an idilic location by the river.
Can get quite busy in the evenings but never had an issue getting a seat. Lovely beer garden, perfect for night out this summer if you're looking to get away from the chaos of town.

S. S.Lovely location, along the river Kennet with seating out the front facing the river or in the rear garden with beach huts and extra tables. They sell home made cakes, curries and other food too. We will be going to try the food out as the carrot cake was amazing and we got a massive slice! The toilets are not the best, the hand dryer is far too high on the wall so the water drips up your arm as you use it, plus the air blows in your face while using it. Other than that they are clean and tidy. Very friendly staff and amazing decor too! Would definitely go again!

C. L.It was a birthday celebration. The restaurant did not disappoint. The food was fantastic. We had a mixture of pizza, whopping sizes they were. Aussie Parma and Moroccan Stew. If that was not enough we had Homemade cake which was truly epic. My daughter had the last piece of carrot cake. I am sure it served two! The owners could not be more hospitable. Even when we were the last and I am sure they wanted to call it a day. They were making sure everything was ok. Lovely setting near the canal. An area of Reading I had driven passed many a time but never visited. Thank you so much for a truly memorable birthday xx

N. P.Loverly staff, whom are trying to do a grand job, the food for the price is not great, but you need to understand that they are located in an odd place and I think places like this will not survive if the prices are not a little more than usual.
Decor is very seaside orientated and is quite nice the curtains hanging from the ceiling need either replacing thou or a good clean

EDIT to add... although the bar us a wonderful place to while away a couple of hours by the water on a sunny afternoon, its astonishingly and uncomfortably noisy inside in the evening. We could have just turned up when a noisy crowd was in, but it was a very different place in the evening...

C. F.Went here for a friend's party and fell in love with the place! Many gorgeous houseplants everywhere (I wish I'd have asked if I could have some cuttings!) and a really nice decor with fairy lights and art.
Food was great.
Place is also dog friendly with water bowls around the side of the bar and dog treats on the counter!

D. G.Absolutely amazing food from different cuisines of the world. I was amazed that you can find Turkish food as well as British or Caribbean stuff. Truly pet friendly, delicious, homemade menu absolutely full of vegan and vegetarian and gluten free options. Especially their pizzas and gluten free burgers are to die for. You can go there with your pet, order homemade treats for them and vegan menu for yourself.
M. K.My occasional stop for beer and often workplace in afternoons. I never sat inside but outside is lovely with tables and shades. Menu got weaker lately but food is still excellent. They offer guest ales changing frequently. Reasonable price for everything.

D. H.Really fantastic service, after seeing a pizza go out but not listed the menu they showed us the new pizza menu that they were about to start running. One vegan pizza and one steak later we were two very happy diners.
Steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the pizza was absolutely superb.

s. j.Visited 31st May 2021. Being Bank Holiday Monday and a sunny day we phoned ahead and booked at table over looking the river. Got there 20 minutes early,. Went to the bar. Gave our name. No table available. Told to sit anywhere! We weren't late so why no table. We were early.
Neither a friendly nor a warm welcome. First impressions count.
Waited ages for the Menu and then again another long wait for food.

Down by Thames river one way and back towards Reading Town centre and Oracle shopping centre the other way. Used to go there around summer time just by the river watch barges going by and time. Beer Garden here too. Haven't been in a while but well worth a visit.

h. p.I have been to this chic pub during the winter and summer time. It is a pub along the scenic river Thames. I would recommend walking from reading centre as the walk is a delight. The food was okay I would say it was as expected; ‘pub food’. The garden at the back is perfect for summer time drinks.
The staff were friendly and approachable and let you sample the beer before buying. They gave nice recommendations and were patience with my tedious friend who tried at least 5 beers. :D
I would say the setting and pub carry this rating. Perfect for a Sunday pub walk but not a romantic dinner :)

Staff are super friendly and keen to please. Management have a firm philosophy which they are trying to carry through and it shows. Can't recommend enough!

Rugs provided if it's cold outside but they'd do better with their patio heaters out. Haven't eaten here, looks like it's served in retro-style plastic baskets and greaseproof - gimmicky or not a problem? Nicely decorated and furnished. Well lit.

E. M.5* for GF and vegan cakes and cookies. What an AMAZING selection and so tasty noone would have any idea these were GF so anyone and everyone should indulge!! It's in a beautiful spot by the Kennet, tastfully decored with lovely, friendly staff. They do all the hot drinks with dairy alternatives to milk, so all preferences are catered for. Take you're daily exercise past this little gem and you will be so glad you did!
S. S.Great atmosphere and return is lovely. Didn't eat but the menu looked good ( Spanish) and was reasonable at around £10 for a main. We went for the quiz which was a real laugh but noisy and hard to hear sometimes.

We were a party of two and had Patatas Bravas with Aioli to start and a nice pan of Paella to share. The food was wonderful. This place is a hidden gem in Reading.

M. L.Disappointing. Looked like a foodie seafood place online but really just a pub that serves frozen seafood at premium prices. Spent £80 for 3 adults and a child and we discussed if we should stop by McDonalds on the way home as we were still hungry. Mussels were small. Appetisers came with the mains. Great for a drink and a snack on the water probably. Don’t go for a seafood dinner.

c. b.A second visit here this time with friends.had a very nice evening,but have to say a little disappointed with the food this time.first visit we had slices of toasted bread with our cheese platter and a generous slice of roquefort,however the visit this Saturday, we had a miniscule piece of roquefort and a bowl of cracker type biscuits.the friends we a little disappointed with the amount of prawns and mussels they had on their paella.considering we had reserved a table,it wasn't as if we had turned up unexpectedly and it seemed as if they had run out of ingredients to make the dishes special.
