Reviews of The Flowing Spring
Really cool eclectic pub discovery we made on our hike today. Even though I don't drink ale I was seriously impressed with list on offer and I'll definitely be going back to to visit with friends. I wish i had more time as could have sat in there for hours looking at all the momentos.. It's awesome!
Very quirky 'proper' pub. Real pub food and a decent selection of beers. The Cuckoo clocks are very tasteful. The fact the floor slopes significantly will help with the 'I think I've had enough' feeling
Great beer - try the Oxford pilsner. Food also better than I expected for a pub in the middle of nowhere. The burger was good. Would definitely recommend to someone thinking about stopping by.
Great options, no matter your dietary requirements, and the food was delicious. Great portion sizes too, and the drink selection was fantastic. Friendly staff and welcoming decor — would definitely recommend to any hikers.
We came here one afternoon evening to walk and see a gig in the evening.
We needed to book our places and pay in advance for the garden gig. This could include food and beer, but since we were staying in campervans we decided to cook and have the beer as we needed it.
I arrived early afternoon and was very well looked after by the owner who showed me where to park. The walk was lovely in the countryside, woods and river. The car park is ample and garden tented out with tables and chairs well spaced.
By 6pm we were able to get some beers and sit at our table with about 60 others gradually arriving before the start at 9pm.
The music was great and we got table service for beers which were £7.50 for bottle of 2pints.
Service was a bit slow but I think some waiters were new and getting used to what to do.
The car park in which we stayed overnight was largely flattish and quiet in a great location. There is a disability toilet and sink available at the back to use. Excellent and quirky people….Fully recommend
Excellent menu - take a look! It's ethically sourced too with numerous awards.
Incredible landlord, great interior, vast range of drinks on tap - see the website!
Starters were delicious and large and brilliantly prepared
lovely quirky pub. Food lovely with variously bands and events throughout the year.Warm welcome from landlord who does a dry cometary on band night's.Must see inside for quirky interior plus brill venue set up outside. A real find.
A beautiful friendly pub with a big garden. I had a delicious and good sized gluten-free pizza and proper ale (also gluten-free) I highly recommend this place to anyone especially celiacs. Great to find somewhere with staff that know enough to recommend gluten-free products.
Friendly staff, and nice decking/balcony to sit out in, in the sun, located in grounds that are very pleasant. Great range of good regional beer and good food, too.
The summer classic car events are getting very busy.
