R. R.Strange pub that looks like it should be a student pub but seemed to lack students. There are several pool tables Special deals on large quantities of beer and burgers. Not your usual pub at all. There seems to be a thing about the car park being a parking fine trap. If you're driving, check carefully. We were there to watch The Nine Mile Riders, a local band. I used to see them at The Broad Street Tavern in Wokingham. They played to packed houses there. But The Palmer Tavern on a Saturday night was quiet. No more than thirty people in a huge barn of a pub. The band were good but the place lacked any atmosphere. But I've only been there once. It could just have been a quiet night.
J. N.Good drinks for good prices. Pool and darts and a rather impressive beer garden. Food has been good when I have had it.
