S.From my experience there on nights out, let’s start with the positives: good space, plenty of seating (if you are so inclined to sit on a night out), nice outdoor section with comfortable booths, relatively decent priced drinks. Next, onto the negatives: the music is really hit and miss. The genre on a recent Friday night seemed to flip between girly pop (Single Ladies for instance) and mainstream chart, and was, in my opinion, on par with the atrocious music regularly put on at Be At One - Reading.

m. m.Class. Visited for dinner. Had the katsu chicken which was a delight. Gin was great and the Rekordalig Watermelon even better.
Staff were so polite and very accommodating since I’m so indecisive at the bar. Patience of a saint wish I’d gotten names but genuine awesome. When I’m next back in Reading I will definitely be visiting again.

A.Really good bar and particularly good for any sports lovers. I have often visited on Friday night with friends and have always had a good Evening so would definitely recommend it. A particular shoutout to Brannoc as well for always being so friendly whenever I have been and for his hard work and dedication

R. A.one of the best nights out in Reading before lockdown and seems like it keeps the same after the lockdown. Outstanding gin selection for a sport bar, and a very good atmosphere. Well organised to follow the Covid 19 guidelines. If you are a smoker like myself you would love the beer gardens,especially the terrace one.

F.We go here Wednesday nights for the karaoke as not a sports person, bar staff really nice, the night is good and really enjoyed myself, the drinks are reasonably priced and smoking area is not that bad probably could do with some heaters, the karaoke was OK, alot of songs I asked for the DJ did not have, only 1 Sam smith song and very little Ed sheeran, but this does not effect my review on the venue itself. Would reccomend.
J. B.May be the alcohol blurring my memory but Walkabout was actually very good. We ate earlier on (vegan nachos were delicious) and the staff were very friendly even though they were rushed off their teet. The outdoor terrace was great even if the tables were a bit sticky.

V.I have been many times here, but last weekend I went with a friend as they had a very good offers for the weekends, when we asked for it they said they didn’t have this offer, I showed to the waitress the Facebook page from Walkabout Reading that 5 hours ago they posted the offer for people to go, he went to ask and came back with same answer, we requested to speak with the manager, he came to talk to us, and said that he didn’t know about it, showed one more time the same Facebook page and he said he will go to check something, in the main time I went to walkabout website, and it was the offer there as a National offer. When he came back he showed me a photo saying that this offer was coming from a different website, when I came back to the Facebook page, what a surprise the post was deleted. I told him that he went back to the office to delete it, and he said that he does not have any power on Facebook and cannot delete things, it was no explanation about that. Is just the way he lied in my face, I couldn’t believe it that he really treat us like if we are stupid. We requested to have a cooktail pitcher for £12.45 and when we went to pay he asked for £9.45. I like the place and I feel very sad that after going there for so many nights and years the manager just treat us like that. If you don’t want to put the offer for any reason, is fine, maybe it wasn’t enough people to get all the money he wanted, I don’t know, but don’t lie in my face please, I am not dumb.

J. S.It's a OK to spot to have a quick drink and the ambiance is dictated by whatever live sport is on at the time.
It does what it's supposed to, it's not a "like / love" establishment and elements such as the toilets could do with attention.

S. O. R.Australian themed style bar tucked behind Yates Bar on Friar street. Great for no frill nights out or to watch many games sport on wide screen TVs. Good selection of beers but bit slow when busy. But you get over that if your only in for a quick bite and a beer. Great for watching Rugby and the world cup few months ago. Inside and outside seating area. Great for groups! During the day serve all family. At night late bar Adults only.
K. E. (.The venue was rented by a group. The area was fine but the catering did not provide a single item of gluten free food - none was specifically asked for so I can't complain too much but the a selection of bread based items does not a rounded buffet make.
The waitress at the bar was a bit reluctant to go elsewhere to restock on requested drinks and items. I had to convince her that yeah I did indeed want lime with my tequila and no it probably wouldn't do without. :)

the place to to watch sport on multi screens. no hassle, no bother just watch and drink.
testosterone levels can peak on big match days so not for the feint hearted.

D. W.It's a Walkabout. Don't have high expectations and you'll be fine. Only niggle is that they turned the music off in the bar in favour of commentary when football was on and it was on the loud side and stifled conversation. If you're going in to watch sport and have a beer it would be spot on though.
