J. M.I refused to come into The Water Tower having heard so many bad reviews over the years BUT so happy I gave it a go. The menu is fab!! I had the lovely tacos. Lovely clean venue, attentive staff and I will 100% be back. The roast dinner looked great …. Well done to the team for bringing this pub back to a thriving pub 🎉🎉
N.We came in for a meal on Tuesday and was very pleasantly surprised. Past experience had put us off returning for some time but our meal was lovely, the staff members were helpful and friendly, special thanks to Georgia who had great menu knowledge and was fab with my two fussy children. Would highly recommend and will certainly be returning. Thank you!
K. L.Had reason to visit this pub for food recently. It is not haute cuisine, nor nouveau, but it is very descent, well cooked, tasty food at very reasonable prices. Interior is clean, tidy, spacious. Outside tables, garden.

A. W.Had a 40% off main meal voucher (via email), so popped in with a friend for lunch. Not very busy. Staff were lovely (my friend offered to adopt one chap). Food was very good. Great value for money, particularly with the money off voucher. I had the mixed grill (£10.99 - 40%). My friend discovered the seniors menu, again very good value for money.

J. W.We've been over today as a family of four. The staff were all really friendly could not fault them. The food was really nice and tasty and huge portions. First time we've been and we'll be going again. The lady that served us was really helpful and polite and so nice. She offered us plates and cutlery for my autistic son that doesn't eat off the menu so we have to take food for him.

A. H.The Tilehurst Water Tower looked amazing this weekend lit with red lights projecting on to it for Armistice Day. Thanks to Andrew Peach from BBC Berkshire and Thames Water for organising it, and the teams of people that came forward to make it happen. It would be nice to see it happen every year.

We went for the first time yesterday and loved it so much went back again today taking our 2 frug pups.
One of the ladies came over with a bowl of water with ice for the pups straight away as it was extremely hot weather.
My 13 Yr old son even told the waitress he thought his food was amazing.

C.Had a lovely meal in here last night, everyone was amazing at making us feel same, had a good chat with the manager on duty, Kim I'm prettt sure her name was, she was training up someone and was obviously really professional and seemed very good with her. I have worked in bars since 18, really wish my manager had taken the same time with me when I went to Supervisor in bar in. Very impressed. She was really nice to us too, very welcoming. Any jobs going, I'd love to be a part of it.
E. C.Well what a lovely little pub. The staff are just so friendly and helpful. The manager, Emma, is so nice and welcoming. You definitely get made to feel at home. The toilets are always pleasant and clean. The food is amazing and very fairly priced. I would recommend this place 100% for every service. Their karaoke nights are also a great laugh.

Staff are always really friendly with a nice warm welcome and we can even take the dog in with us and he's made to feel just like a local too! Top quality well run!
V. L.Went for our first meal out since lockdown. The manageress was very welcoming and attentive, the staff were very attentive and friendly. Watched them sanatise a table and was very thorough. Which was reassuring. Food was lovely, hot and value for money. Will certainly go back.

I spoke to the manager on duty when she took one of our orders, very pleasent. I wanted to compliment her before we left but I believe she ended up supporting in the kitchen from what was said by one of team. Hope you all get to see this though, thank you.
S. P. T.Surprised to get a space to eat. The staff were very attentive. However a simple meal ordered 15mins later told you can't have what you ordered for the main or starter. Both meals came out together as requested and very quickly again serving staff very attentive. The steak was perfect as were the chips. The peas were dried clearly reheated. The sharing platter was over cooked and one item was inedible the tacos were stuck so hard together i would suspect it wasn't even cheese. Drinks were perfect. The dessert the most expensive on the menu was woefully small and served in a plastic flute. Our first visit and sadly the last.

I have been to this pub twice for 2 birthdays in the last couple of weeks. The first time wasn't so good, hardly any of the food was available to order which can be an issue for Vegetarians as there isn't many options to start with.
The second time I went was better, all the food was available, maybe it was because of the different days we went, its best you go on days that aren't busy like Fridays.
The staff have been very good, casual check-ups in meals, quick service and a nice attitude.
Overall this is a nice play to go, however it is best to go on a day which is not busy.

H. S.Came for lunch and my daughter wanted a “sausage burger” . So I asked for the children’s sausage meal and a plain burger bun to make it myself. It came out and was prepared ready for her! G. H.Good food oriented pub in a residential area on the outskirts of Tilehurst. The food on offer is 'typical' pub food, done well and served in fairly large portions. Prices are very reasonable, especially if you use one of the daily offers during the week. The drinks range is let down a bit by the absence of real ale, but is otherwise good.
m. m.Great pub lunch, steak was perfectly cooked, all the staff were so lovely and attentive to us, nice to be somewhere that felt like a propper pub for some lunch rather than a modern bar, even sat by the fire! Couldn't believe the value, so good, will return when in the area.

S. O. R.Used to be called the Bear inn. Good bar friendly staff big bar. Good food. Their Burger is must have as you will not be a bit hungry after it. Near water tower hence the new name. Also in Tilehurst area of Reading.
E. “.Wow what an improvement. The restaurant was clean and tidy. 10oz Ribeye steak was amazing, cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. Staff very polite and friendly. Vast improvement from my last visit, very impressed.
J.New owners, I think they may have been a little busy, it was only their 2nd night of opening, service was a little slow. The lovely new manager offered a free drink to apologise and the quality and quantity of food made up for it! Will be visiting again soon!
N. B.We regularly go to the Watertower with my daughter as it's one of her favourites and we always enjoy ourselves. We do occasionally have the odd issue with the food but these are aleays dealt with swiftly and professionally. Staff are always friendly and always feel we get good value for money.
v. m.Lovely place under new management... however the food took a very long time to get to us which was a bit concerning especially as we had an 80 year old we were treating and the place wasn't particularly busy
