My local watering hole. Never had a bad experience here, very nice beers and a great food menu too. Staff are always very welcoming, and even during the strictest of covid restrictions were still friendly as ever. Lost count of the amount of visits I've made and I'm always happy to come back. Brought friends and family who have said the same, a very nicely run pub. Live sport on quite often which is fantastic for a sport fanatic such as myself, and a quaint place for a drink in the evenings too. Very pleased to make it my local, and will continue to come until the place shuts down or I have to move away!

I was having a stroll through the common and decided to have a quick drink here as a stop off. I’ve known the place for years but never popped in. I only had a pint outside on the bench and the FA Cup was on inside so quite obviously full. From what I could tell it seemed like a good place. Plenty of seating inside and out. A large bar and drink choices. A few people had to wait for a seat outside but I gave up mine when I finished the drink. The meals I saw being served by all means look very nice. It is a good sun trap in the evening too. Overall I’d give it a thumbs up for the brief time I stayed.

The service would've been better. The squid would've been cooked a bit longer in the fryer. The sweet potato fries were undercooked but still edible. But overall the experience was amazing, the table was really amazing with the layout as well as the little display. The bar staff and the manager was really friendly. I would recommend this beautiful tavern to many other people.

Great food, really good service. Had an issue where we had booked a table over the phone well in advance for 10 people, turned up on the night to no booking, which threw our surprise dinner plans up in the air. They pulled through for us and eventually managed to seat us all. So a big thanks for that.

Ambiance very nice. Staff friendly and obliging. Plates almost cold. Veg needed a little more cooking. Looked lovely when delivered but soon went cold. Beef served "pink" was almost raw in places. Not to my liking unfortunately.

The pub is nice and clean and although the bar staff are super friendly the service after was borderline acceptable. We ordered food and had drunk our drinks before our meals had even been brought out. The girl came round beforehand and took away the salt and pepper and then we had to ask for them back. Food was OK. Hunters chicken was OK. Cheese needed to melted a lot more and the bbq sauce was very very sweet. Also salad was more lettuce then anything else. Thankfully the company was great. Will try again as I like to be fair.

Hi, the service and the beer were great. Those things are always good in this pub, and usually the food is pretty good, so this review relates to the fish and chips. Hey, listen, I paid £5.50 for it and why should I complain? Well, it was the batter. it was sort of soggy. I really would have preferred to have paid more and got great batter. The fish was ok, but it also seemed to have emerged from the freezer. This is nitpicking, and I will come back, and eat and hopefully your batter will be better.

Had lunch at the Bellemoore today and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I didn't want anything heavy and was able to have a starter with a small portion of fries - just what I wanted. James the waiter was extremely helpful..

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. I do have one small complaint which I did not make at the time as I did not realise the mistake. I ordered a 8oz Sirloin steak. I did not get onion rings nor the egg! However, mistakes happen and I was satisfied with what I did get! I will come again but next time check properly! We traveled from Devizes Wiltshire, but I will pop in next time we are in Southampton.

We dropped our son at Southampton Uni. Wanted to watch footie (not the desired result), plus eat and have our dog with us. We were recommended to come to the Bellemoor by another pub that didn't allow dogs inside. I asked if they knew of a nice family pub, showing football that likes dogs. The staff were very friendly. The manager/owner (?), called me beforehand to say everything was doable, and to check we were coming I guess. Very clean pub, including the toilets. Reasonably priced. The food was lovely pub grub. Very enjoyable. And with Southampton Common opposite to walk the dog just perfect. Will definitely be booking again soon. Thanks very much from Dave, Lisa, Alfie and Sasha Banks the dog. X

Food was great, service was superb. The staff were completely client focused and even though we had not made a booking they were more than willing to make a plan to get is a seat. Highly recommended anything with chicken. I had the hunters sandwich and the chicken was succulent. Well prepared and presented. Chef did brilliantly. We went here for Sunday lunch with my elderly mother. They gave us a nice table in the corner. Everyone was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely. Mum finished all of the lasagne and garlic bread, even though she said that she wasn’t hungry! We will definitely go again.

My daughter in law, food was frozen when given to her. On the menu it says the beef is Pink. I asked the waitress to clarify if the beef was pink, she was not sure and said it comes prepacked. Who wants prepacked meat. Very Dissapointed

I didn’t realise that Scampi was so small, some of them were the size of a large pea? A very small meal and why was the lemon grilled, impossible to squeeze over the scampi, I asked why and was told it’s “company policy”. My partner enjoyed his pie though

First visit in the Bellemoor. We stopped for a meal before long journey back to Plymouth. We had a dog with us and I asked staff if chefs could cook a meal for her too as she doesn't like dog food. They were so kind and understanding and she had lovely chicken,rice and vegetables. Excellent food, chefs and floor staff. Thank you sooo much!!!

A Greene King chain pub like The Malvern up the road. Good sunny outdoor space. Spacious indoors. Standard menu, with some items not available, but my burger was probably the best I have ever enjoyed so who cares? I had a real laugh watching the football and chatting with some of the locals. An excellent way to pass a couple of hours

We last came here in 2018 before we moved out of Southampton, due to Covid, we hadn't had opportunity to come back now we've moved back to town. We were delighted to come back and the Bellemoor didn't let us down. Still wonderfully decorated, the menu has a great selection, the food is well prepared and had plenty of flavours. All in all, we won't leave it 4 years before the next time we're back

An OK Greene King pub, with a reasonable selection of beers and lagers, and typical pub menu. Quite handy if you are visiting Southampton Hospital, going to or from the City Center, or just fancy a walk in the Common. Friendly staff.

New menu, and the all day breakfast is back 😋 We're still coming and the food and beer is just getting better and better....The Bellemoor has to be one of the best pubs in Southampton, we popped in when looking at houses, and have been coming back for 15 years! The food is great and v.reasonable. The Ale's are pretty good and constantly changing, regulars are Tribute and Abbott. Great friendly staff too.

We visited on saturday, for a birthday meal. We had to phone and book as the website wouldn't allow the booking, so worth remembering. Our table was spacious for all, it had a 'I'm clean' sign on arrival. The staff worked so hard, yet still were friendly, helpful and made our family meal a pleasant experience. The pub was not over full, we were set apart from others that allowed us to still move around without worry. The food was good, my veg was hard and i couldn't eat it but for 8 meals, that was the only issue. The value for money was good and everyone was happy. Thank you to all the staff doing the best they can, in these crazy times.

I have been to the Bellemoor numerous times and every time the food has been really good and so has the atmosphere and staff. It is in a very convenient location for the Common, has its own car park with disabled bays (although it is not immune to inconsiderate people ignoring the clearly visible signs).

This brilliant little pub has been a family favourite for us to eat out at for years now, and deservedly so, I typically have a steak medium-rare, and they have never messed it up by over cooking it, or under cooking it. Drinks are competitively priced and see never too dear on the pocket. Lastly the staff there all seem to enjoy their jobs making it a much happier environment to enjoy a meal in.

Even in this Covid crisis, the pub had a great vibe. We only had drinks but every time they were served quickly and politely. It felt safe, with a well implemented one-way system in place.

We arrived at 1:50pm for our 2pm table which was pre booked......we got a drink @2:25 then our food came out at 3:40, yet the place was only 1/2 full.....never the less it was a beautiful meal! We had dessert at 4:15, again desserts were delicious too! We vacated our table promptly and left at 4:50.....all in all it took almost 3hours.....maybe Sunday was just a bad for the staff. But we will be back again, when lockdown is lifted😀😀

Refurbishment has really uplifted the pub and looks very nice. Atmosphere and service at the bar when ordering food and drink was very pleasant and sufficient. The waiting of the food to come to the table however wasn't so great .. we waited an hour but it was very busy . The food was nice but not as big a portion as what I was expecting. The WiFi was also not great. I would return though and would be nice to see a little difference

Great family pub. The location is amazing as it’s directly opposite the common so in the summer it’s so lovely for a cold pint in the sun. Richard Taunton college is opposite on the other side of the road too! Went here for dinner and loved the food and service is so speedy. Staff are super personable as every time I went to the bar (few times haha) they knew my order and had great conversation with me. Big tele as they show all the sports like the footy and rugby. The atmosphere is electric when saints are playing!

We decided to go to the pub for a meal for my wife's birthday and I had invited all our family. We all had the Sunday roast. The staff were excellent and the food was very good and plentiful. I would recommend this venue to anyone who wanted to go out for a good value meal in nice surroundings.

Had Christmas dinner here after having eaten here before. Was very reasonabley priced for 4 courses. Staff were really attentive and nothing was too much trouble and made our Christmas hassle free! only nit pick would be the food was a little cold when it came out but Christmas day can be a difficult one. Found it to be extremely good value for 6 eating on a Sunday. Tables can be reserved easily, dogs permitted, burgers and steak can be doubled up for £1 or £4.75 respectively, bottle of wine for under £10! What's not to like......oddly enough, the veg.

However being Greene King is slightly more expensive menu with not as good deals as before with the combo of drinks etc staff could do with a refurbishment too if you feel me... Overall still feels like a good pub and the fact I can bring my baby killer dog in is a bonus but please buy a pool table I'll always be using it :(

I had a pint of Peroni, my friend had a pint of San Miguel. Very nice, however, the food was disappointing. The steak n' ale pie looked presentable upon arrival but the vegetables were undercooked - almost raw. The pie didn't have any flavour. On the plus side, the food was reasonably priced.

A decent local pub, no pretensions. They're making more of an effort these days with ales, and personally I've had some good honest meals there. The menu is very reasonable, the desserts are cheap, and if you do have a problem the staff are more than happy to put it right.

It may be understandable that, with such a dog-walking area as the Common nearby, we should put up with dogs there, but PLEASE would the staff stop dogs from a) sitting their germy behinds on the seats that we humans sit on and from b) licking the table tops! I've been coming to the bellmoor Tavern for years , me and my friends and family usually have to wait half an hour for food services rubbish but you have a new black guy working for you, and he is amazing its like he is on roller skates, I actually said to him he needs a pair, but he was lovely couldn't do enough for you friendly polite he is a really asset to the pub, actually I think when I spoke to him he said he was assistant manager,

The only reason iv given 3 stars is because we was watching the grand prix and the batrman turned the telly over to football we was watching for a long time the one bloke walked in and ask for the tv to be turned over to football and he did this with out asking if people were watching the grand prix when I asked for it to be turned back he said people had reservations on a table and the tv if that is the case put a not under all TVs that will be changed over to a different program later in the day

Great little pub just off Southampton common (hill lane side) it is a Green King. Food is great and the roast are one of the best in town. If you are on the common its worth the 5 minute walk.
