Reviews of The Brewery Bar
G. G.
A really laid back and welcoming pub with a delicious Italian restaurant within it.
The staff have the right attitude to see this business flourish.
Clean refreshed decor, well kept beers and freshly prepared foods.
Loved our time there.

The local people that use the pub are a entertainment in there own right. Food was amazing. But they run out of roasts by 2.30. so I missed out on one but I'll come back a bit earlier next time. I don't think that the chief expected to be that popular.

Called in Saturday lunch time while out walking the dogs. Warm and friendly team on site and the dogs were very welcome.
We all had pizza and the food was excellent, really tasty and very well priced. We will definitely be back here again!

Excellent bar, our second return today. The bar lady is great that worked today. We sat outside and had a couple of pints. Excellent pub will be back Saturday
R. R.
Georgie was working behind the bar and offered exceptional service and friendly chat to make our afternoon the best we've had for a while . And now there is delicious Italian food to be eaten I recommend the cheese unbelievable. The pizza comes a close second all the best Ritchie

First time at The Brewery Bar and was very pleased with my experience.
Friendly staff with very generous portions of food and very tasty.
Will definitely be coming here again!

I love this place, it was good before the refit now it's the dog's Doo dahs! The food is pretty good, nice selection of beers and live bands what more could you want?
B. G.
Dropped in for lunch today. Staff very friendly and pizzas were great. Freshly made to our choice. Thank you
L. R.
Jeff was amazing and food was deliciously authentic. Best Italian in Botley.
M. D.
Lovely welcoming place, with great food. Had the bolognese calzone and it was brilliant, we will definitely be back!
N. S.
Friendly bar staff. Have been meaning to pay a visit here for a while and will definitely return
C. J.
Very good food and a fairly decent price.
Atmosphere felt a little bit weird in the bar though, and staff basically threw the food at you and then wandered off and didn't bother with cutlery or condiments.
Menu for a Sunday lunchtime was VERY limited with just burgers and sides on offer.
P. H.
Really old but really nice, clean and glad I visited. Will deffo be using again and again
A. H.
The food was good and the staff were friendly.

Dropped in for a quick drink on Saturday night ...and ended up staying all evening.
The Brewery Bar in Botley is such a vibrant place! It was buzzing with a bunch of jolly people having a good time. My dog came and he loved it too!
The Landladies are so friendly and even though they were clearly very busy with guests they even popped over now and again to make sure our party were alright (and thoughtfully brought my dog some water). I haven’t lived in the village for many years, but it’s obvious that under the current owners this quirky pub is now the beating heart of Botley!
There was a good selection of spirits at the bar. The ladies loos were also well stocked and clean.
I was anxious about going out due the the whole Covid situation but there is a massive outside area both to the side and rear of the pub which has both a large semi closed gazebo and a well lit pub garden with plenty of seating areas and space to stand.
We’re looking forward to returning soon to try their food menu (I hear the dirty fries are a must!)
Thanks to Tash and Harry for an unexpectedly great evening!

We went as part of a trawl round Botley to see what it had to offer! The person behind the bar was very friendly and the atmosphere was really good.

This pub has recently been renovated to a good standard and has a nice area outside which would be a great spot on warm sunny days. We visited to see a band so we were inside. There are regular band nights here and is quite well suited for this purpose.
The selection of beers are unremarkable but not too shabby. We were peckish so we ordered a couple of small dishes but we were left waiting for them for over 45 minutes. It turns out that the order had not been sent to the kitchen so we had another wait for the food to be delivered to us. We did not receive an apology and it would have been nice to offer us an extra dish to say sorry.
But apart from the food problem we had a nice visit.

Visited on Monday about 1:30pm .Two men and one dog in the bar.Greeted by a nice log fire and welcoming lady behind the bar however no food available on Mondays. New menu on its way but the existing one showed pics of good pub grub with some offers burger and drink £10. Wine was inexpensive and good size car park. Will visit again on day when food available and then give it 4/5 stars I think.

My favourite bar as its unique in its stile and keeps the Proper bar image that many working people love. I am one of those working people that love to have a beer after work and enjoy what the Brewery Bar has to offer. A fantastic Pub, terrific staff and locals and visitors that enjoy this atmosphere. X x
K. S.
Great pizza would recommend
D. O.
Staff were very helpful. We had not booked but it had been raining. But plenty of undercover seating. Only shame is the smell of smoke, but you are outside so it's expected.
E. S.
A big thank you to the Brewery Bar and its staff. Organised a birthday party with bbq smoothly via email for a lot of guests. Upon arrival we ironed out a couple of things very quickly. From that point it was a great evening. Food was really good too!
Highly recommended!
E. H.
It was very a nice surprise. Just headed to the pub for a bite to eat and it turned out to be really nice. I had the Buddha bowl and my father enjoyed his chilli con carne as well. Beer was cold and lively too so all in all, on point.
A. P.
Was a little bit disappointed as it had good reviews but the food took ages to come out and a lot of it was burnt, the beer was good thou.
M. T.
Offer a Veg Soup during Tier 2 restrictions which was homemade and profits to charity. Don't have Sky Sports but still offer BT. Really decent place with good staff and food.
S. J.
Very welcoming staff, undesrtanding of the covid restrictions in place.
Special mention to Natasha.
Pub is very clean, comfortable and the food on the covid restricted menu was good value for money.
Highly recommended
R. W.
Average slightly higher than normal prices and basic food menu. Children's amusement all broken so dull for kids. Beer is good quality and food is great tasting. For a quiet drink with partner worth a visit.
k. f.
Great atmosphere, staff were excellent and the band was pretty good too.
S. P.
A traditional pub that still has the memory of that inside, though is kitted out more like a cafe or restaurant, with small dining tables laid out, each ready with knives and forks. They don't look inviting to sit at to spend a relaxing few hours, and are geared up to be functional for eating a meal and then leaving. The pub does have live bands fairly frequently.
The area near the front door is more pub like, with locals sitting at the bar, and a table by the window which is more suited just for sitting at and drinking. A couple of guest ales on offer as well as a cask cider. An acceptable place for lunch, being clean and light, but does lack character and comfort.
Botley is an interesting looking village, and the three pubs are all acceptable, and serve food. Being close to the Hedge End shopping complex, any of them would be OK for a quick lunch before shopping. But not for anything special. The Dolphin is probably the most down to earth and family friendly, the Bugle the most upmarket and characterful, and the Brewery Bar the freshest and cleanest looking.

Visited with friends on a Monday evening. It was very quiet but food was good. Ribs were a bit tough but couldn't complain about the rest of the food. Service was good too and it was a good price. Would go again for standard pub grub
D. M.
Lovely atmosphere and very friendly.
J. B.
The bar staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. While small the selection of beer and cider at least had some real choices. Unfortunately the food was a bit bland. The portions were generous but I would prefer a smaller nice meal.
B. S.
Great pint of Abbot ale in the beer garden first since Jan 2020 as we are shielding.
C. W.
Lovely friendly pub
D. G.
Superb food. Best chips ever! Olde world atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Good hygiene and COVID precautions. Highly recommended!
S.
Nice old pub, very popular, live music, The Jay's, on Saturday was great...had a boogie.
P. L.
Wow, what a roast beef dinner, great quality and plenty of it. Children really enjoyed their nachos and macaroni cheese meals. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.
T. L.
Cosy, friendly and good prices on drinks. Food available but I've only ever been to drink with friends so cannot comment on food. Friday nights are buzzing. Plays a key role on Christmas Eves during Botley Beers!
P. A.
nice atmosphere but as a young woman i didn't feel the safest
B. S.
Great pub, very friendly vibe, nice group of punters, very relaxed
A. S.

Lovely place for groups, individuals, couples, and families. Lovely outside area and lovely inside with really friendly staff. Brilliant. Would recommend to everyone.
I. H.
Good comfortable pub. May well be 5 stars if it weren't for current Covid restrictions.
D. U.

J. S.
A great little pub. Ideal for a pint and some cheap food. Real ale 2 dartboards and a pool table. almost a mini weatherspoon with entertainment.
R. R.
Had a few drinks and had a game of darts on a Monday night. Good place to go for lunch and generally have a good natter with someone.
R. J.
Staff excellent but outside areas used for drinking needed a good clean
R. S.
Nice little pub been going for a pint in there for more years than I want to admit
m. b.
Can't fault the pub, but not the right venue for a live band. The acoustics are very poor, to much base.
T. B.
Outside tent for New Year's eve gig with Kings of Leon good night and great band
C. S.
The smallest pub in Botley, but it's still here for a good reason , friendly staff good food and great night out

Food seemed a bit expensive, but worth a look. Could easily drive past and not notice it, but there is a reasonable car park behind.
