Visited a few times now. Small music venue, which you get to via steep staircase so not great if you have any disability issues. It's very dark (as are the toilets so have your torch ready, and a tissue as there's never any toilet paper 😂) Staff are friendly. Good atmosphere and good sound. Went to see Saint Raymond on the 10th who was fab! (As was Casey Lowry)

cool venue, no cloakroom though

Good intimate gig venue. The prices are quite dear £4.50 for a can of red stripe, it was very warm and the floor was so sticky that it was hard to move your feet, but I enjoyed the gig.

Good venue, pa and sound are calibrated well, prices are a bit expensive but it's what to expect for a small music venue.

Had a wonderful time at this live music venue

Nice sized venue. Close to the band without feeling cramped. Good bar (for a music venue). Gents toilets are like something from trainspotting though (although, to some that may add to the charm).
There's a single long stairway to the venue so maybe an issue for access and exiting the venue. I'd suggest checking before you go if that could be a problem for you.

Great venue if the gig doesn't sell out, goes about 10/15 deep from the front to the bar, then it goes left, not a great view unless you're stage center. Great sound, the floor bounces when everyone jumps. Who knows, we could go through the floor one day. Slightly overpriced drinks, £4.50 for a can of Red Stripe...

It was a fun night watching The Cuban Brothers (even though they came on verrrrry late). It's not the most glamorous of places, but then i never expected it to be so.
The staff was very friendly and vibrant and good times was spent with amazing friends.

Intimate upstairs venue in the Bedford Place area of Southampton. Good sound quality and some good up and coming bands play here. No draught beer, cans of red stripe at £4:50, or 330ml cans of craft beer at the same sort of price. At least the bar staff are both pleasant and efficient.

I took a freind to The Loft last Fri and Saturday who at the present time needs to be wheelchair bound as can only walk a few feet with support. We tried to contact the venue and promoters after we heard the night before that they had no wheelchair access. We took the chance and on arrival the very polite and helpful door staff directed me to Dan, the manager at The Social who now run the venue. He took me round the venue looking at access and emergency exits and did a complete risk assessment as we walked around. He introduced me to the head of security who said in case of an emergency two dedicated members of his staff would evacuate my friend from the premises.
Dan even cleared the way through one of the upstairs rooms to enable my freind to be supported on a private staircase and to then use his wheelchair to access the venue room.
We had tickets for Gwenno and Adwaith and for Bo Ningen the following night which had been purchased long before we realised my freind would still be using the wheelchair.
Dan was manager on both nights and was very helpful, understanding and a real credit to the venue. The security staff were at all times helpful and patient and my freind and I thoroughly enjoyed our two evenings of great music.
The sound is great in the venue and we will return.
Highly recommended
