The food was all homemade from scratch and the menu creativity was excellent. My friends and family had such a lovely day, would highly recommend.

M. C.A very welcoming pub run by a lovely couple and the welcome extended by their locals. I was down at the MacDonald Spa Hotel staying which is great in many ways though the hotel bar couldn't beat this. You have to go there, even if only, to meet the most cute dog in the world.

Just popped in the Pear Tree for Sunday lunch ,,,
Very very busy thank God I booked a table ,,,,, otherwise I would have gone home starving ( Lol).

S. S.Recently change of management is bringing more life back to this country pub. Live band on the Friday we visited, a selection of ale at reasonable prices. Hopefully the decor will get a refresh and the lighting definitely needs improving, way to bright. No food as far as I know so overall a good boozer, hopefully some improvements on the way.
P. H.I have visited The Peartree on several occasions, and to be honest, I cannot fault it. Well, perhaps I can, it's not within walking distance of where I live. It is professionally run by Molly and Niall, with always a friendly welcome, and fantastic food served lunchtimes from Wednesday to Sunday. It is a small independent pub, with plenty of friendly locals, well worth a visit. Did I mention the food???
J. R.One of the best lamb shank' s I have ever had, fell straight off the bone. All the food was so tasty and home made. Such a lovely atmosphere will be coming back for a delious roast again 😍

R. P.Not quite sure why this lovely little pub has been rated quite so badly? I'm assuming that the comments were about The Pear Tree, prior to the latest change of management?
Surprisingly, although I probably only live 5 - 6 miles from it, I had never even seen it or heard of it until today?
The new landlord is a reminder of the great days of the British pub, a real 'old fashioned host'. Welcoming, friendly and experienced. The new team have been in place for 3 short weeks, so still finding their way. Food is not yet available, but I assume that will be coming along very soon? The pub isn't the largest, but that is no bad thing, it is clean, well stocked and reasonably priced. The large windows on 3 sides, ensure that it is bright and open. I may have taken 10 years to find this place, but I know it will only be a few weeks before I return.
Well worth searching for.
UPDATE: Apparently this venue is now under new management. Younger people with different attitudes. I wish them well.
And for the record...to the reviewer who posted... 'None of that pub chain rubbish'...this is an Enterprise Inn, so the VERY worst of that ilk.
