G. E.Popped in for a few drinks with friends. The whole team are amazing, so friendly, so ready to help with any questions or recommendations you may need. We ended up getting a desert each and the food was amazing as well. We will deffo be back again in the near future for more food and drinks!

I was served by Gifty she was very nice and made sure we were satisfied. Would definitely recommend and come back.

l. r.What a bar, walk in and the staff are so nice and Friendly, James was really nice. You look in any directions and you can see TVs everywhere what a way of viewing your favourite sport. I can go to the bar and continue to watch. When ever ive gone there in the evening there is a DJ playing some absolute bangers. Food is Great value for money, Cant beat a Christmas dinner this time of year. Id give it a massive 5 of 5 every day of the week

A.Doombar very good shame it was the only beer on out of seven real ales but the price and the barmaid who made sure I got a cold glass made up for it and nice to see the footy. returned after a year oh dear charged two prices for the same beer and the service was so slow and as I was settling down to watch the motor racing they turned all the TV's to the quiz will I return ???
М. Г.Great sports right in town center! Prices are very affordable with a great selection of food and drinks and most importantly for a sports bar there are TVs everywhere! Shout out to Victor for being extremely friendly and helpful, will definitely be returning!

B. S.Yates is a brilliant pub and so undervalued. I was looking for a place to shelter from this awful cold weather and decided to pop In to Yates Southampton. To begin with I only wanted a coffee and even though they were clearly very very busy the barman Brian was extremely welcoming and helpful, so I decided this was where we would have lunch.
The burgers are really amazing and I'd reccommend them especially with those waffle fries which I've never seen before . I got a pint and a burger for under a tenner and again was served my food pretty quick considering how busy they were. Brian never seemed to stop but he was a great host and told me which deals were on which meant I ended up spending much more than I intended but was glad to as it was great value and they were showing the football so I forgot about finishing my Xmas shopping and we made an afternoon of it. Thank you for such a great time on such a miserable day we will definitely be back here. Next time for the cocktails. Well done Brian.
O. B.Yates is first and foremost a pub. This is what I come to Yates for, have a pint with a friend and chill out.
When it comes to the larger it does I think it’s good value for money compared to other places. For example a pint of Carlsberg is £3 or a pint of the slightly more potent Stella is £4 so if you have a £10 note it could quite easily disappear.
It also has music which livens the atmosphere compared to its Rival Wetherspoons who have a no music policy

A. S.My friends and I were at Yates for the England vs Germany EURO 2020 football match. The atmosphere was surreal and the ambience was exceptional. The food and drinks were also great. Avishan, one of the pub staff was amazing, and made sure all of our needs were met despite the pub being extremely busy. He was super friendly, approachable and really helpful. Overall, it was a memorable experience.

T. T.As visiting Southampton for the weekend we Had a strange experience last night with trying to get into Yates, as it was after 8pm, we were asked to provide photographic ID in the form of a driving licence or passport before we could be let in.
The security guard and the evening manager would only let myself in, as other 5 didn't have any photographic ID.
We are all over 55 years old, and it was 9pm, when we asked where the sign was we were just told it's Company policy on Friday and Saturday evening after 8pm.
Nothing on your website and nothing signposted at the entrance.

R. B.In Southampton for the pantomime and decided to go for breakfast, found Yates so in we went. Got to say that Yates Southampton is looking just a little tired and maybe even neglected, still the young lady behind the bar was friendly and welcoming and so I ordered a full English for myself and a bacon and egg muffin for the boss (wife) with two coffees. The food arrived within five minutes ( admittedly it wasn't very busy) and although I have given an overall experience rating of three stars, for the food I would give it it four stars. The food was good and the coffee was excellent, so people if you are looking for a breakfast in Southampton Yates is a decent choice and very reasonably priced.

Although last week I joined a quiet bar here waiting to order food and a couple drinks. The girl behind the bar was unable to serve as she had a huge food order coming through who were really picky, not her fault at all.
However, the guy behind the bar served literally everyone else but me (who was at the bar originally). After about five minutes of waiting I’d see him serve someone 6 feet away from me who had just turned up. Completely ignorant.
The poor girl behind the bar who’d been taking this order for not shy of 10 minutes eventually got round to me instead.
I’m not going to single him out because it’s still not a nice thing to do, but for God’s sake working behind a bar, it’s not about who’s waving money at you or saying ‘me next’. It’s first come first served. Quiet bar, was acknowledged and completely forgotten about. He’d be an absolute nightmare working in a nightclub.
R. P.In these uncertain times, any bar or pub venue that is open is a blessing. I haven't used Yates's pubs since the late 1960s. My local, being the one in Bromley, Kent. But I used this pub yesterday and my score is based solely on the wonderful staff member Nina.
I'm a disabled pensioner, who modern life seems to be rushing past me at light speed. She helped me with downloading the app for ease of ordering and took time to chat with an old man who has little in common with her.
Great service and a wonderful advertisement for the company.

A.Yates has a nice and lovely atmosphere especially on Sundays. myself and some of my close friends go there every Sunday for our Chicken wings, drinks and play Pool.
The chicken wings are quite tender and juicy. the hot sauce goes well with the wings. On Sunday 18th December 2017, the sweet potato fries where a bit burnt. It made them crunchy but wasn't too bad.
I did want Fosters shandy however they were out of stock with Fosters which wasn't the best. I don't drink but need to feel like i have been to a pub and i only know about just a few drinks. the gent recommended Carlsberg Shandy which was quite nice.
On Sundays, the hold Quiz which is quite fun. A team can win up to £700 which is pretty good.
Some of gents at the til could do with a bit of a smile (i can appreciate it being busy however a seemly cheerful server can keep customers coming back for more), they mostly smile but consistency is important.
I must say it is nice to go and watch live football games.
I do recommend Yates.

C.Celebrated my 40th here and the guy organising my night was really helpful and helped make it fun. Drinks are a reasonable price and the food is always good. Only quibble is the toilets downstairs need a bit of a clean up!

The staff were only too happy to put both for us on their huge tv screen. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and their drinks are priced well too.

W.I've been here twice now when my ship stops at Southampton port and I've enjoyed their breakfasts, nothing fancy, just good solid food but every time I go I mention to staff that there is no soap in the women's bathroom which is frustrating and unhygienic. They said they would check on it but every time I return there is still no soap dispenser available. Just a bit gross 😕

S. O.Yates has always been a nice place for me but I have one major complaint which left me truly upset and that was the Security company Regency who operate on the doors there.
As a customer I have always felt welcome but because I was a former member of Regency and left because I wasnt happy with the new area manager, last night for the first time I was refused by the area managers nephew William on the door because I left on bad terms according to her
Listen it is my god given human right to enter any public venue. you dont own the damn venue and I seek legal advice.

I've never met someone who actually looked like the mantle piece.......!
However, cracking night, cracking music in good company, you know when when you've had a corker the previous night when you awake ,and your face aches from laughing so much.
I had a good time in Yates, I really enjoyed it..!
