Reviews of Coachmakers Arms

Found this place by accident. What a find!
If you want plush and fancy decor forget it. This is a genuine Victorian working man's pub. It has a tiny snug and a few other basic rooms. Tiled floors. Cast iron tables. A real locals pub where the locals are friendly.
Good range of beers. This type of pub is almost gone. This place survives amidst massive redevelopment. Stoke planning department has made some major foul ups in my opinion as a first time visitor. Let's hope they keep their hands off this very unique pub
Facing the Hanley bus station with a superb Indian restaurant next door you have all the elements of a good night out!

Yes, the decor is good, the beer is fab and and it's Chris that makes it. Others do have a hand of course, but this is far better and safer than the yuk that passes for public houses in Hanley that you would not visit with anyone you respected. Highly recommended
J. C.

What a beautiful little place this is,can't wait to go back 😍
S. H. C.
A very old tiny little pub, struggling to keep up with the modern pubs of today.
No meals ... Just a great little boozer for sampling a great pint.
Keep these authentic little pubs open, by going along and helping to support them.
You might find some great conversation instead of food and wi-fi.
You might really enjoy a proper handpulled pint too.

Great friendly little pub. Every time I've been wether quiet or busy, the staff are friendly and helpful. The beers on offer change from time to time so there's no chance of getting bored. The patrons are local super friendly people. We'll worth a visit.

Bit different to where I'd usually go, but has its quirks and good vibe about it!

A great pub, the management are friendly and welcome new patrons. First time I was in there it totally surprised me by the size of the place. 4 small rooms which have a great atmosphere. I particularly loved the history of the pub. One drink is a must to try is the rhubarb cider. Very well priced which is always a bonus. A place that will get you going back.

Great landlord. Lovely pub. Always feel welcome even though I'm not a real ale drinker.

Brilliant Atmosphere. This pub has always been exceptionally inviting with its real ales and quaint decor and friendly staff. A recent makeover has added to the testimony of it's worth despite to try to implement demolition to make way for unnecessary local authority plans. It's cosy, friendly and worth a visit where people you don't even know are willing to chat about anything and everything.
D. G.
Very nice pub. Only tiny but a good range of beers. Landlord very friendly chatty guy which made the visit enjoyable too.
Definitely worth a try

Old school pub, where people still talk to each other. Decent beer, loads of ciders. Music and films on regularly. Great Landlord and Landlady, friendly crowd. Trouble not tolerated. Class pub.
A. W.
Decent beers at very reasonable prices. Old and dated and not really somewhere to probably take the wife as more of an old mans pub. Lovely friendly staff all the same.
