Thank you so much for the brilliant service that you provided yesterday when we came yesterday After seeing some bad reviews about food standards I was a little concerned but we all were highly satisfied with all the meals we had,we were a party of 15 and could not have had wished for better service. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. A special thank you to Sandra for her care and efficiency taking care of us so pleasantly.

Great place to come. Wide selection of meals available. We came for tea the other night, daughter had pizza and chips and me and the hubby had burgers. Very tasty, hot and arrived quickly. All staff are great, nothing is ever too much trouble. Will definitely be coming again.

Haven't been put for a carvery in a long time, but really didn't want to have to cook so thought we'd try here. They didn't dissapoint. The food was great. Exactly what you expect when you go to a carvery. And to top it off the staff were all really polite and friendly. Which really makes the difference. Will definitely be visiting again

Well I’ve not been for a while but my what a change. We came for a carvery and we were presently surprised there was a great selection of both meats and vegetables with two types of potatoes, the meat portions were generous and all the food was fresh and tasty. The attitude of the staff was excellent, they were friendly and could not do enough for us. We will definitely be coming again.

A great lunch for the family, food was wonderful! I had the mushroom and brie Wellington with carvery veg which was a great alternative for me. Abby did a fab job the veg and the Wellington was delicious. Sandra was lovely and a credit to the pub :)

We booked 2 tables 1 for 3 and 1 for 4 as there were no large tables to accommodate us, but we were sat on tables next to each other which was nice as it was Mother's Day. Went for dinner last night on our way back from visiting Ashbourne. Not overly busy but not quiet, plenty of couples and families around. Food was decent and young blonde waitress who served us dessert was friendly too, didn’t get her name sorry.

Went with my wife for a carvery, we hadn't been for a while due to Covid restrictions. We were not disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, polite and pleasant. Joel and Sandra deserve a special mention, they are a asset to the company ! My wife is gluten free and veg and gravy was done separately for her to avoid cross contamination. The meals were hot, good portions and cannot fault it in anyway.The restaurant is pleasant, facilities are clean and tidy and you don't feel rushed. We have been since and will not hesitate to go back again.

Great Carvary at a decent price. The only reason I've knocked a star off is the amount of meat you're given. I understand its a business but it was pretty wafer thin. Other than that the veg and everything else was spot on. I'd go back again no questions. If you're a meat lover add the pics in blankets.

Hello, I would just like to send a message to say we have been for our meal today, we found the staff very polite, helpful and most of all attentive. In particular Nate, nothing was too much trouble. We had our autistic 8 year old with us who kept talking to Nate, full on life story stuff lol Nate took the time to listen to what he said and spoke back to him which doesn't happen very often so I would like to thank Nate for that! Also Nate was dealing with a very difficult customer a few tables on from us, I can honestly say the customer was really getting under my skin and I don't know how Nate stayed calm and professional throughout but he did! Amazing young person. :)

A pub that sells Carveries at two different prices for week and weekend discriminating against people working during the weekday but on the other hand it's cheap for pensioners. If you don't fancy a carvery you can pick yourself up some normal pub grub. I visited today the 8th of August 21 staff very friendly and welcoming.

Shocked at the recent reviews as it was a lovely place with fantastic food. The lady serving us was lovely and helpful despite the restaurant being almost full and their only being one other woman with her. Poor staff run off their feet. Some customers are just outright rude to them and need to give them a break. The country’s in a mess and people need a bit of understanding right now, they don’t go to work to be moaned at. If you want to moan, stay at home. I’m a regular diner here 3/4 days a week and the staff at the Ashbank couldn’t do more for you if they tried. From the manager to the cleaners, just take some time to get to know them and you’ll see they are all fantastic people.

I'm writing this review whilst sitting at table 40 with my daughter, tucking in to a Belgium Chocolate Waffle and passion fruit and prosecco meringue pie. We had a carvery for our main courses. I come here on a regular basis and can honestly say I've never been disappointed. The food is always hot, cooked to perfection and fabulous. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled.... Apart from the screaming banshee with ice cream all over her grubby little face!!! 😂😂😂.... So once again, 5 stars from me. Thank you to the lovely staff. See you next week.! Xxx

I visited yesterday whilst a lady appeared to fall in the carvery queue. The staff were very attentive and caring and although I had to wait for my dinner because of this I didn’t mind as it wasn’t their fault at all. Food was good and they clearly go the extra mile for customers. Dessert menu is a bit bland, but maybe that’s just me.

Excellent choice and service. Visited there on several occasions usually midweek around 7:00 pm and always been happy with the quality and choice of carvery available. The food is always fresh and the vegetables are constantly being replenished. All the staff are constantly working hard and very polite. I would like to mention DAN whose works on the carvery he has served us on several occasions with a very friendly and professional manner at all times. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a great meal at a great price. To all the staff Well done and keep up the good work for creating a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere to visit.

I've been visiting the Ash Bank since the early 2000s and I think like other people it went down in quality as time went on, however the Stonehouse takeover has made vast improvements that make it worth coming back again. I haven't been for a long while but it's a lot cleaner (probably the cleanest restaurant of it's type I've been to), the spacing between tables is good so you're never elbowing anyone, the portion sizes are decent for the price. The downfalls for today's visit at first look is that the balance between the carvery and food to order didn't gel together in a non-awkward way. For example, 2 in the party got the tickets for a carvery, 2 ordered burgers. We didn't know how long the burgers were going to be so the 2 who had carveries went to go get their food. They managed to go up for seconds because the burgers took 45 minutes and one of the orders was wrong (they seemed to be giving stack burgers to everyone but we only ordered a single and didn't like deconstructing the tall burgers). Someone also commented that the carvery meat wasn't the greatest but I didn't have any so can't comment. The burgers were fine and so were the toppings so no problems there, just a shame we had to wait so long so we couldn't just relax and eat with one another at the same time. Overall I'd say a good place to go but watch the timings if someone in your party orders something like a pizza/burger/fish and chips etc

Great carvery, as usual. I could have made a better choice of pudding though. I had the Apple and Caramel Crumble with Custard. For anyone with a really sweet tooth they would have loved it but it was just too sweet for me. The prices were great again with one carvery plus pudding, another carvery, a large chardonnay and a diet coke coming to £19.10 which is a bargain in anyones money. It has been brightened up a bit since my last visit, about 15 months ago, and made for a pleasant early evening meal and even at this time (17:35) it was still quite busy.

We visit regular and is better than most pubs in the area especially the carverys and we've enjoyed the food and the atmosphere on every visit however today's visit was far from satisfying. The food had been left out on the hotplate to long with the meat being tough and with small amount that was carved, it was basically a plate of veg which was warm. If it wasn't for the piping hot gravy that warmed up the food, it would have been sent back! To add tho this, there were kids running around riot up and down the ramp and knocking us every time they ran past and parents nor staff said anything to them. Overall a very stressful and unsatisfying visit.

Hi I was very disappointed with the service to start off with me and my wife was waiting at least 15 minutes before any body come to us we explained that we have booked a table for 8.30 so we went outside in the beer garden we tried to order drinks on the app the app was not working there were no staff outside so we had to wait until some one came out to us we went inside about 8.20 to get a table to get told that carvery will finish at 8.30 so we went straight up to be served to find out there was hardly nothing left the manager was quite helpful on getting us choose something else some staff were very rude
