I haven't been here for years but i will certainly be going again in the near future. Went with a friend for a couple of beers as you can now and really enjoyed the evening. Lovely friendly staff, a great selection of beers and everything as it should be in a country pub. We were made to feel welcome and the beers are very reasonable. Give the place ago. Ps- i believe it also does coffee and cake through the day as well. So something for everyone.

We went for the pie night, it had been recommended. 4 pies to choose from including vegetarian. Also a drink is included in the price. Pies are all home made very tasty . With real chips, not frozen ones. Good selection of cakes for desserts. Staff are all very friendly.

Excellent! A fantastic value for money lunch. Never ordered a Ploughman's before and wish I'd taken a picture of it because it was extremely photogenic and absolutely delicious. Service also brilliant; very friendly and very quick. Would definitely come back! Recommend it. Thank you!

Fantastic community orientated pub.. The atmosphere is brilliant and everyone is so friendly. A nice change to be in an environment where everyone is enjoying themselves without any mother. The cake is delicious well worth the visit. Can't wait for them to start doing food.

I visit the pub regularly,mostly Saturday, but my 8weeks off work I’ve been able to visit in the afternoon with family or friends ...we have tea/coffee,cake or sandwich and on each occasion we have felt relaxed and comfortable in the surroundings. The staff are very pleasant the cakes are divine and I can only give praise that is well deserved. The pub is a credit to each and everyone who have given their time in making it into a clean pleasant atmosphere to visit. Keep up the good work,well done 👏🏼

Group of 4 of us had brilliant time here early evening having drinks and food. Got a table no problem and Covid measures easy to follow. Staff are really friendly and helpful and food service spot on. Small menu and great food. Can definitely recommend the Gavel burger with pulled pork, cheese, jalapenos and bbq sauce accompanied with fries and amazing homemade coleslaw. A great experience and will be returning soon.

Beautiful country style pub large outdoor area and that's the only reason I gave it a 3, visited a few times and the atmosphere is rubbish, bit clickey and I hate that in pubs, when you walk in the first room every single person who is sitting down stares at you as you approach the bar which makes you feel really uncomfortable, I'd recommend having a drink at home first if you want to have any kind of night can honestly say I've never been during the day for something to eat, maybe it's completely different, they don't have a massive selection of drinks either, and they don't do cocktails 👎 it's 2021 guys stick a cocktail on the menu

First time here today for some lunch, it was lovely, the service was quite quick, and it wasnt expensive. They have different foods on alternate nights, a large gin selection, and also slices of cake! Will definitely be going again!

Really nice pub.A good choice of beer,wines and spirits. The cakes are delicious and the gavel burger and black and blue burgers are good. The chips are chunky and homemade as well not frozen like some places.

All the village people have invested in this pub they need to extend there kitchen to provide a better food service as it is just limited. This pub is worth coming to it has a lot of potential and a variety drinks available.

Went for lunch midweek. Staff were quiet, not chatty at all, no personality, no atmosphere, no music. Only good point was the food and puddings (amazingly tasty).

Brilliant new community pub. Must see and re-opened after nearly two years of being closed and fully refurbished, you won't be disappointed . Open back to the public on 19th May 2018.
