Average pub style place, needs refurbishment. Tables and chairs were not too cmfortable Good atmosphere. Toilets were adequate. Nice and clean

Amazing evening at an open mic gig. Bar maid was friendly and proper cool - which became apparent even more so when she got out and sung acapella which was really good. Excellent music throughout the night and great pint of Madri!

Good entertainment pub ,good beer, nice staff.in response to the Manager on why only 3 star's, the star rating I submitted is not a negative to the establishment but I am a seasoned traveler and visit a lot of extremely good pub's hotels and restaurants etc so I star rate in accordance to my experience.I have been to the John Marsden many times and would go again.kind regards ,Alan

Only came the once had a quick drink main reason came had to arrange a function. The function room was roomy and very private, the present owners are leaving in a couple of weeks time, nice local friendly pub.

This pub has recently been taken over by a new landlord who is trying to reverse a long spell of deteriation. I must admit it's a difficult task with the current decline in the general profitability of the pub trade. But I take my hat off to her as she is making progress.

Doesn't sell any food just drinks. It's your typical "old mens pub" sticky floors, pool table and cheap drinks ! Cannot complain about the prices at all. A round of about 4 or 5 drinks is about a tenner. So so cheap. So if you can get past the sticky carpets and the toilets with no locks on the doors you're on to a winner.

Worlds best bewery I have know the landlady since I was 5 years old now 25 nothing changes life is sweet and now getting sweeter at the john marathon public house this place is better than cheers in
