This Stafford Arms is situated in the charming village of Bagnall. The restaurant is stylish and the waitresses were excellent and informed us of the specials for the day and were very attentive, without being overly watchful. The menu was extensive and lots of good choices. I had the blade of beef which was sublime. An all round hidden gem 👍

Lovely/pub restaurant, only passing by, but looked really nice, so stopped for a pint. Part's of the property date back to 17th century. I did not try the restaurant, so I can't comment. Steeped in history, with a lovey inglenook nook fire place in the bar area.

Just been this evening for a meal, and was excellent as always. Chips are home made and delicious, the beef and ale pie was to die for, the the Moroccan lamb spring rolls starter were so fresh tasting. I'd happily have that as a main course. My dads pork in satay sauce was beautiful too and my mums fish, the batter was so light, excellent. And the chocolate torte was just out of this world. Great bass beer, good service and all for £25 a head with drinks cannot fault. If you're going to be going regularly, join the VIP club it pays for itself with the perks and discounts you get.

Never been before but heard good things so we booked for a late lunch as a couple. Absolutely beautiful food, gorgeous modern light airy interior, staff were attentive and polite. Probably the best mix grill I’ve ever had. Beautiful presented and tasty good quality ingredients. We will be back very soon!

Really nice atmosphere in a lovely building and very nice staff. Came with 80 year old grandparents who all really enjoyed their dinners. Food was really nice, the beef pie was my choice and was so tasty. Portion size was really good too.

Wow! What sight to behold! Our son said he wanted to take us to a pub for a drink - but that we had to go when it was dark! We didn’t ask why and he didn’t say…. So, after nightfall we set off. When we arrived we knew immediately why we had to see this building at night, in all its beautiful glory. With the soft glow of internal light coming from inside, this place looks spectacular. Picture postcard! Chocolate box worthy! Small, quaint, olde worlde. We went inside, to be met by friendly staff, in a deceptively large interior and with the sights and smells of a very popular and busy eatery. We did not dine unfortunately, although I am not sure they would have been able to accommodate us anyway as, from a sneak peak into the dining area, it looked full to capacity. We had a drink in the separate bar area and soaked up the very social atmosphere. We took a look at a menu we discovered and I must say, if the food tastes as good as the menu sounds, I can see why the place is full! •Plenty of parking. •Clearly well loved by the initiated. •Definitely intend to return to sample the Sunday roast!

Soggy batter & considering I was asked twice if the food was ok , thought I'd mention the soggy batter... just as a future reference , but not even an apology so why ask if the food was ok ? A green opposite with tables to take in the views. If you want to relax over a drink or fine dine; this place is worth a visit

Lovely atmosphere and decor. Staff very attentive. COVID 19 measures suitable with appropriate mask policy. Busy when we went so would reccomend booking. Menu was varied, vegetarian and vegan options available. Food was lovely, cocktails perfectly made. There was a deal on prosecco which was great value. Overall would return and would reccomend. Perfect for a meal out in the evening with family or friends.

Last minute booking which turned out to be inspired! Table for six at short notice, staff were great, lovely surroundings. A very pleasant venue. Though our family meal was nice enough please not that when yours arrives at the table it is not always as explained on the menu. For example; almond cream for a desert arrives as raspberry icecream! I have been told that the kitchen is extremely helpful on the quieter nights. A very nice pint of draught porter makes up for the little indiscretions.

A great country pub to go for a drink or meal. There is a car park, children's play area and indoor and outside seating. They only serve food outside at certain times so if your going for food it is best book a table inside as it gets very busy. The staff are very polite and helpful.

We had a funeral wake here. Friday 7th December 2018. It is a beautifully furnished venue. Relaxing atmosphere. Staff are superb. Smooth running of food and plentiful tea(in pots)/good coffee. Visited here with a group of 12 people on a Saturday night. so we had pre-booked the table and asked to pay a £5 deposit per head and had to pre-order food, so was a little bit of a pain. However, the service before in the booking process and on the evening was great. Really nice food and drink options, would recommend for a quiet meal with your partner or a big meal with a group! Large car park across the road as well

Usually love eating here. Sadly today was a real disappointment. Wasps all over the place causing a real nuisance. Food was relatively tasteless and stodgy. We asked Jason if we could swap the sunday starter for a dessert and was quite rudely told no. The table felt he was dismissive and belligerent. Other staff were friendly and helpful however. All in all really disappointing.

From a Cosy old fashioned pub with log burners to high-end cuisine, the the Staffordshire arms has it all. The food tend to lean towards the nouveau cuisine style of food small portions quite expensive but amazing flavours and the capacity can take from small intimate meals two large groups a must try if you're in the area

Called by chance after being out with wife & daughter first time been for years and I mean years when it was just a pub it's know a lovely Restaurant very welcoming, staff very pleasant and the food was lovely will definitely be calling again.

Perhaps being a bit above itself to call it a Gastropub, but definitely trying - which can only be encouraged in the area. Manages admirably to define country pub for regulars with separate dining area(s) where individual tastes are catered for. Staff are friendly when one can get their attention and this is perhaps the crucial point of enjoyment - SAY "I'd like my vegetables steamed and a bit al dente" and they came that way - on a previous visit I'd been sad to be given (in my opinion) completely overcooked vegetables - and I'd complained - only to be told that "that was how most people liked them, why didn't you say?" Staff are good and will accommodate most requests - but only if asked - after asking it's never a problem, but one does need to actually say something.

Called here one friday afternoon for a bite to eat, beer very nice and atmosphere great if you like oldy worldy type country pubs, we ordered lobby £8.95 which we thought dear for a stew but we were hungry, what arrived looked like a childs portion or starter at best,small bowl of braised beef( it advertised root vegetables but only found two slices of carrot ?) a very small bowl of cubed sautéed potatoes, and a small bought in baguette, similar to the ones from aldi in a four pack, finished the meal in about 5 minutes tops, and was still very hungry, it did taste excellent but i would suggest larger portions or reduce the price to at the most £5.95, my daughter ordered salmon, came with a peice of salmon cooked very nicely, but other than that it was a bowl full of salad, very overpriced again, great pub but get either your portions or pricing right .
