Reviews of Bakers Arms

Lovely friendly country pub. Food was amazing. We had the famous Bakers arms fish and chips. You get a large piece of fish plenty of chips and a choice of peas puree, garden peas or Salad. It lives up to it name as the best fish and chips.
The Barkers Arms is also Dog friendly.

The Sunday Roast was amazing. Plenty of gorgeous beef, beautiful roast potatoes and vegetables. Dessert of crumble and custard was a good bowlful and delicious. Shame I live so far away as I would definitely go there regularly. The lady …

Very tasty food, but rather expensive for what seems to be heated from frozen bought-in food (even the Yorkshire pud's & roast potatoes had the texture of frozen bulk-bagged, and the veggies were cooked until soft). If it were made by the skill of the chef it would probably be worth the price, but the nut roast was supermarket bought. Still tasted good though!

We dropped in on our way home, needed a beer and a bite. Lovely pint of Arkells and, seduced by the sign promising fish and chips famous throughout Wiltshire, we both opted for that. The cod was perfectly cooked, batter crispy. Chips were a bit disappointing, didn't live up to the fish. Enjoyed chatting to the locals. Nice experience

Lovely country pub, great food and very friendly staff. So pleased to have found this pub and actually now walk past several others to get to this one.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch - fish pie - real comfort food and my husband had the fish and chips - like a whale on a plate - no leftovers for the dog, I'm afraid!
Warm welcome from Louise and Steph and a welcoming log fire. A good, clean, well-run pub.
