This was a lovely pub at lunchtime, with fantastic staff managing a very busy crowd, including an Irish funeral. The food was delivered pretty promptly and the bar staff ensured that everyone was served as quickly as possible. Well Done Merlin!

Tuesday visit for lunch. Great menu in managed outlets at very reasonable prices. 2 meals for £10.99 and seniors menu of two courses for £4.99. Our meals were spot on, just a bit high on prices for drinks. Hunters Chicken and Katsu Chicken. Yumm

Unbeatable Mac and Chips, super fresh Fish and Chips and great ambience. Sunday roast prices are hard to beat, too. Not so impressed by the beer, though. For those that prefer lagers (or the Greene King IPA), those are available, I'm more of a real ale person and it's a tad disappointing in that department. The Icebreaker Pale on draught is pretty good nonetheless but theres hardly any 'good' beer options apart from that.

I travel from Gloucester to The Merlin in Swindon, to meet up with my daughters and friends and family. We have the seniors menu because the portions are just a bit smaller, so not overwhelming. The food is such good value for money. It's hot and tasty. The young girl there, Mexico, always looks after us so well, she's almost family herself! Highly recommended. 😃

My son made the booking, large family group for my dad's birthday. Can't fault the experience, food was great, drinks flowed. Atmosphere and friendly staff made the experience an enjoyable one. My dad was given a free pint and even had live music arist sing Happy Birthday! Will definitely be back!

Visited the pub over the weekend to enjoy the beer garden with family. Whilst we visited an anti-vax march/protest attended the pub with a full police escort. The language used by members of the protest was appalling towards the management team who did a fantastic job to keep things under control. The team handled this extremely well and we will 100% be returning.

Rated 4 stars mainly because it's extremely good value. It's never going to win an award for gourmet food but it has a good range of value food. Service is good too. It looks like it would be good for sports fans and has lots of TVs showing current sporting events.

Never had a bad meal here. I go every couple of months for a Sunday lunch and it is bang on for a reasonable price. Staff are second to none, friendly, helpful and professional. Good for the sports too if you are that way inclined.

Currently ran by Nigel and every pub he's been at he's brought back from zero to hero. This pub excels with or without Swindon town playing. Family and child friendly with great customer service on food and drink. Pool tables. Dart boards. Fruit machines and a very good price and variety of food and drink

First time at the Merlin after a long day shopping at the Swindon retail centre. We could not of made a better choice; greated by friendly staff and the locals our party of 9 had a lovely dinner and drinks at a reasonable price.

Place with real promise, but only offers louts and noise before a Swindon match (louts not necessarily the Swindon fans). Decent layout, reasonable prices and a pool table. The place is much better on a weekday than at a weekend. Serves as a good warm-up for a night on the town
