Not quite as enjoyable as pre-pandemic but no doubt being short staffed (recruiting) and short of stock (experienced this in other places lately) doesn't help matters. Perfectly pleasant staff and food was fine.

Never been here before, however we came here on Easter Sunday and it was lovely. Most of the staff were kind and always smiling (there was one male waiter though that constantly looked moody or unhappy), the food was lovely, chips were a little bit on the colder side but were still nice, and the rest of our food was very tasty at good prices. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Our first visit here. Didn’t really get much of a greeting, the waiting staff were busy shouting across the restaurant to each other. We got shown to a table and then left without any explanation, no offer of drinks, no-one told us it was bar service only. The food took a little bit longer than I’d like but not ages, and was actually worth the wait when it came. Nice and simple once we knew what we were dealing with.

Normally a good venue ...but today (Sat)chaos) ...running a promotion...rugby on the tv..late pm /early evening. Only ONE person behind the bar!! Not very good planning. It's an ok restaurant with a good range of meal choices. Some prices were not too bad but some were very over-the-top especially the deserts. For example, a small piece of Arctic Roll is £3.99 but you can buy a whole Arctic Roll in a supermarket for 99p!!! I also didn't like the way they gave out cutlery, with ALL cutlery being placed on a single saucer. I much prefer each person's cutlery to be wrapped in a paper napkin at each seating area like restaurants do. Currently, if you want to select your cutlery before your food arrives you have to leave it laying on what could be a dirty table. I noticed that some of the forks handed out to a table of adults were kids forks too! Eating with those made you look ridiculous LOL. Not a bad place to eat but certainly room for improvement.

Terrific Sunday evening meal. Couldn't get in at Toby Carvery and probably a blessing in disguise. Loaded nachos to start followed by a burger. Staff couldn't do enough to make sure our 11 month old had a good time.

Very popular, four of us dined on a Friday lunch time and was very busy, was told our order had a 40 to 50 minute wait, which was no problem as we had a lot to catch up on. 60 minutes later the manager came to us and apologized for the wait and went on to tell us one of the dishes was not available, this was not a problem and chose another dish. When our food arrived, so did another round of drinks on the house, and that dear readers is the way to look after your customers.

I used to drink here for about 3 years. Not been for 5 years. The Place still looks the same and could do with a revamp. Still a good crowd in and food was pretty good. Outside could do with some attention. But to be honest it was alright. Service was slow especially when it was not busy. I wouldn't rush back but I would go back no problem.

The food was nice and served quite quickly and the staff were polite and friendly. They didn't have the vegan cottage pie but there was alternatives unlike the desserts. They ONLY had one choice of a vegan dessert on the menu for our two guests and then didn't even have that available. In the end they lost a sale on four desserts.

My husband & i had a lovely meal here today. Would recommend the gammon it was delicious along with the tasty chips. On arrival the staff were very friendly & dealt with our order promptly. Cheap and cheerful, have been a couple of times recently, my Mother in Law had a gammon steak which proved to be mostly gristle, when she told the manager she had not enjoyed her dining experience, just got a terse "sorry about that"? OK if you want a cheap meal, but don't, t expect a gourmet experience for the price. Other staff pleasant enough.

Nice family birthday meal somewhat spoilt by a couple of loud fouled mouthed leary drunken individuals at the bar. 10 of us were squashed onto a table for 8 right next to the bar despite prebooking. Staff were lovely very friendly and helpful, food was nice and served in a timely fashion although there were a few things on the menu not available, one meal served was missing items that should of come with the meal ( x3 sausages on mixed grill ) I feel the evening would of been improved had we of sat further into the restaurant area away from the bar and at a bigger table. We had bought a birthday cake along with us but decided to take it back home so as not to attract unwanted attention from said individuals

The food was pretty good and service prompt. However the veggie burger could be ordered vegetarian or vegan option. My son ordered vegan, but was served the veggie one. Luckily he noticed and it was replaced straight away. So quickly, in fact, that they couldn't possibly have cooked another one. My son was OK with this, but it wouldn't be OK for anyone with allergies. The staff apologised for their mistake.

Really good! Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good value. The the burger I had was really tasty and there were loads of extras like chicken, onoin rings and chicken breast. All suspiciously well priced. Portions were good too. Overall very pleased. Will be going back.

Following another visit, it's time for an update. I did give it 5* originally, but now down to 4 for a few reasons. The Woolpack is a very busy pub, friendly staff. Good menu for food at very reasonable prices. Well stocked bar. The staff seemed stressed and rushed off their feet. The food wasnt that hot when it arrived, fortunately we weren't in a rush. The toilets aren't the cleanest and there are broken and missing tiles.

Visited the woolpack on Saturday evening and had a great night! The pub is just lovely. Happy, friendly staff. The manager was very helpful, kind and chatty. The service was quick at the bar and didn't wait long for our meals to arrive either. Our food was hot and delicious! I will definitely be recommending the woolpack to my family and friends and will most definitely be returning in the near future!!

It's a family oriented pub with a wide selection of popular beers and lagers. The menu is both traditional and new: it's about £8 for a maim course but there's loads to choose from. The staff are friendly and, under its new management, it's a nice place to come.

Went there for a quick Sunday lunch while house hunting had a steak it was well cooked and hot,plenty of chips. Now moving up to the area and will be using this place on a regular basis. Update (15/01/2014), now moved here and use the pub on a regular basis, cannot fault the food or Staff (or the price of the drinks). Definitely read the menu before you order your drinks though as they are always having meal + drink deals which are excellent value.

Food came out and the peas where missing off the sausage and mash. Could not find anyone had to take the meal to the bar. The duty manager walked away and the new young girl ( who was training) took the meal back to the kitchen. Later the waitress come over and asked if everything was ok, so we mensioned that the peas was missing and she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Went the the bar to get another drink and waited 6 mins to get served, the duty manager was serving the lady next to me then never said a word to me just went to make coffees.
