Great village pub.Nice and friendly lads behide the bar.Rang up to see if we could have a table for 9..No problem. Plenty to choice of meals. The mushroom and thyme pie to die for. Completely all satisfied with the food.That good went back again.If down that way in will be popping in again Dog friendly aswell

Happened by this place and it's a gem! Parking to the rear is limited but not so crammed you cannot open the doors. The garden is as good as they could make it, and at the top few tables you get late evening sun (in August). The owner served us, a young bloke who was happy to accommodate some less easy requests for food, which was superb pub-grub. It was a meal that left your tummy groaning and food on the plate. Price was great for the food quality and fab service. Had they had an option on the card machine I would of tipped, but I rarely carry cash so they missed out. They had a quiz night going on which packed the place out, he also told me they have a band in the week too. A must visit! Don't go gastro-chain, do yourself a favour and go local - you will not regret it here. . .

We were on holiday visiting family and had an impromptu lunch, it was so good we booked an evening meal for our last night together. Food was excellent, chips are the best I've had plus the manager/bar staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be the first stop when we come back to Cornwall next year

What a wonderful surprise going to the Dolphin Inn was. Driven past it many many times but last week got an opportunity to have lunch there. Car park is far bigger than you would expect. The pub is fabulous inside and the proprietors are just lovely. The best ham, egg and chips ever!!!

The calamari starter was something else man. Absolutely gorgeous. Best ever had. And look how much it comes with for just a starter. Delicious. Enjoyed the waffle and hunters chicken too. Lovely people. Lovely atmosphere. They gave my dog a treat each time we visited. So nice man. :)

Lovely home cooked food! The portions are generous and the staff was very friendly. The slight chill in the back of the pub where we were sitting was made better by the number of friendly doggos inside waiting to be petted! They have daily specials and nice Cornish beer/cider!

Stopped off here for an evening meal. Really nice welcoming pub, friendly staff and good home cooked food. The menu and specials board offered a good choice. Local beers and ciders are available as well as the more familiar branded alcoholic /non alcoholic drinks.

Lovely meal food cooked to a high standard and home cooked. The scampi was the best my husband has ever tasted and I was served a fish burger that wasn't on the menu but was offered when asked. The Apple pie we had was delicious and everything was well presented.

Friendly service but the food came out undercooked and cold. However it was very nicely remedied and we enjoyed our meal. The menu seems a bit dated but we actually quite liked that for a change. Called in here a week ago and had lunch. Very helpful and friendly staff, turns out it’s a family effort business. Had two meals which were delightful and booked again for tonight. They also were keen on Covid compliance which felt good. Well worth a visit.

Really nice pub with a genuine friendly welcome that is so often missing these days. Beer and food all good quality. Hsd (now Hicks) is a lovely pint if kept well. Really clean and organised for covid restrictions.

The pool table is fantastic, and the staff are really friendly. Great pub for watching rugby and football in. In terms of drinks it's pretty standard, but overall it is a fantastic pub to meet your mates and enjoy a drink or two.

Brilliant food the landlady and landlord very welcoming stayed in September 2017 at stickler travel down to Grampound for dinner as there aloud dogs in a section of the pub. 5 star for dog owners if they want a drink and dinner. Food is out of this world great portions.

Recently re-opened with a new landlord, Robbie, it has a lovely warm atmosphere as you walk in. Longer opening hours 11-11 and open every day, you can pop in any time for either coffee or a drink. Either way, you'll be always made welcome.

Update:- I thought I'll give the pub another go and i have to say its made some good improvements since the last time i was there, the food looks 10x better and my daughter loved her food, also customer service has improved greatly, I can see how hard the Owners have worked to improve the service. Well done Dolphin Inn. Never going back there, im local and i would prefer to go probus because last time i was there i was offered a tab by staff and i was grateful because i was going to eat and drink, while i was eating with my daughter the woman owner said to the bar tender "why did you open a tab for that guy? either way i could do with a dishwasher" i finished my meal payed and i gave the banter a tip as long as he didn't spend it there. Never again showing my face there and its a shame as they show football on bt sports but rather go truro and give my money to bunters and get a selection of different food any time. .
