Both the starters and our roasts were very delicious! Glad we were able to visit here with family on a very rare Sunday off work. Would only say the waiting times for food was a little lengthy, but good company and cocktails helped with that ☺️

Very enjoyable experience, great food, great pleasant service, excellent Merlot, was forced to have 2 large glasses. Marked down one star simply because the grapes with the cheeseboard were to cold,( next visit I shall order at the start of the meal) and there was no pickle to go with the cheese?

Fantastic decor and atmosphere created by the kind and friendly staff. Lovely menu with clear labelling to highlight vegetarian and vegan options as well as glutton free options. We had a roast which was classily presented and tasted fantastic.

Sunday roast beef was incredible only issue was service!! It was very slow from start to finish. Waitresses where lovely but took over 15mins for drinks to come after ordering each time, you could see our drinks sitting on the bar not being brought over. Or they would stop mid order to serve someone else who walked in when we had been told table service only. So got very frustrating towards the end.

I found the service shocking, this is so disappointing as it totally let the whole meal down. The food was pretty good but due to the awful service it left a bad taste in my mouth. I hate to say it but I doubt we will be back. Such as shame as we had heard good things about this place.

Super food and service. Went for a meal and drinks the first time and then went back for early couple of starters and a drink before the theatre. Lovely friendly service, super tasty tood, the tempura prawns were to die for and they also allow the dog as well.

Trying really hard and great on many levels, but I wouldn't come back. Nice vibe with the candles. Could've done with the gum-chewing waitress remembering to deliver one to the table when asked. Slightly greasy aubergine fries (great idea, though). The salt and pepper in paper packets was a big black mark. Lovely balsamic onion gravy with the lentil bake which was let down by hard potatoes. Huge portion of apple crumble. Nice evening over all, but a few fails here and there that are easily fixed.

Food was amazing but please expect to to wait for it. We did however have poor service. We ordered a bottle of wine and that's what we got a bottle of wine plonked on the table. We had to ask for glasses after 10 minutes of waiting. After eating the meal we had to wait over 30 minutes to pay the bill even though we asked for it. If the service was as good as the food it would deserve 5 stars unfortunately the staff let the restaurant down.

Staff are super friendly and lovely, food is beyond amazing, not another pub quite like it in Truro. My partner also forgot her bag at the pub and the staff were quick to keep it safe and hold onto it till we arrived to collect it later. The only reason i'm giving you guys 5 stars is because I can't give you 15!

We had a fab meal here last night. It's a cool pup resturant that is a bit more upmarket, modern and funky in its style with friendly staff that are really switched on. 4 if us had dinner there, with delicious cocktails, super tasty starters, mains and desserts and presented really beautifully. We all had something different and each dish was perfect! For starters I had the hummus, my friend had scallops, the fellas had the scotch egg and we we're all so happy with our choices. (Hopefully next time there will be beef cheek croquettes available). For mains, one friend had the pork belly and said it was up there with the best he's ever had, another was in mussel heaven, I had the chicken supreme which was seasoned to perfection and my other half had the burger which was delicious. We had mac and cheese, fries and aubergine fries as sides- again, so tasty! And our dessert were yummy! But the mudslide cocktail was the star of the show! I can't wait to go back again :) Me and my partner have just moved down here, and will be back! There's not much parking outside but that wasn't an issue for us. Thanks The Thomas Daniell! Keep up the good work!

Food was decent. Prices may have been a little much especially when compared to the remedial level of service. Overall I would give the food a 6.9. We order a bottle of Moët rosé and it came warm. This dilemma caused much trouble for the staff when it should have been removed immediately. Yet despite this kerfuffle we had a good dining experience and the cocktails were to a decent level.

Without a reservation, we did not think we would be able to get a table.When we went in the delightful lady on arrival encouraged us to order a drink and she would try to organised a table for us, and she did just that.We must admit that the atmosphere and the place were delightful. The waitress was so nice and the food was simply amazing. 5 star for the chef as the steak was absolutely outstanding!!! If you want a lovely place to eat inside and outside we definitely highly recommend The Thomas Daniell house⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing food, the Sunday lunch is incredible, the breakfast deal is very good and all the food on it is great apart from the chorizo and beans, which I thought would have been a bit 'fancier' but it was quite basic, which I wasn't expecting, considering the high quality of the rest of the food. The service is usually very good, only had one instance where it was slow but they were very busy, so this is understandable. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food you are getting, it may seem pricey at first, but it is so worth it for how tasty it is! If I would have given them 4.5 if I could!

Reserved two days in advance for two, Sunday lunch. Greeted well. Seated quickly. Drinks arrived quickly. Was very busy, food arrived 30 mins after ordering, not an issue as every element was cooked to perfection, good food is not fast food. Good selection of drinks. Ordered Pork and Beef lunches, Beef was the better. Only quibble was the table we were seated at had a very low skirt, so was difficult to sit comfortably and when asking for the check the waitress forgot. Would recommend.

We popped in on a Saturday night while champions league final was on so not too busy. The table was a tight squeeze to get in to. The Diet Coke without ice had ice. Was tempted by the steak pie on the menu but couldn’t grasp why you’d want mushy peas with it so went for the burger. Overall a nice place.

Always nice food & lovely staff but I think chef changed as lamb flatbread not good! had it before and big square flatbread with juicy meat and veg, this time 3 bits of dried up lamb sausage and barely anything else. :( Rest of the food was lovely although they run out of lots.

Intended as late afternoon treat for Grandaughter between performances. Just caught end of lunch menu..4.15 pm. D in L and I both had well filled toasted sandwiches, Roast vegetables for me and salt beef for D in L. Grandaughter had a wrap which she demolished. Side salad let lunch down, as so often when eating out , a blodge of random greenery. Desert was generous x2 sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Alas Grandaughter found a long hair in her pastry and fresh fruit desert. To be fair staff apologetic and immediately offered replacement or off bill. However Grandaughter was upset so we paid and left. Staff excellent, price average and two generous cups of tea out of pot for one. Nice ambience.

A reasonable meal, but I've had better in the Truro area for much less money. The bar is over fussy and Infective. Personally I like to order a drink at a bar and receive it there, not have to wait to have it delivered to the table when I'm standing right there! When we visited they had run out of most things on the menu. Probably good for them, not so good for us. Not that impressed with it all really.

Excellent gastro pub just a short (if not uphill) walk from the centre! If your just walking the dog and fancy a pint, it's a friendly quiet place to sit (and it is dog friendly in side too!) Or for a slightly upmarket breakfast in the morning, to a fancy romantic evening meal with your partner it has it all. Staff are pleasant and food is delicious! Can highly recommend to anyone either local or visiting.

The food was superbly cooked and presented and the service was attentive whilst unobtrusive. Visited here as staying with family. Great food, friendly staff and fantastic cocktails. However, advisable to book for meals as get very busy. We visited on a Monday evening at 7pm and no room, so ate outside. Best of all, dog friendly inside.

Something has happened to TD. It's a big shame! I think it must be either not many chefs or change of management. I usually go to Thomas Daniel but the two recent times I have been it has been very disappointing. 1st time 4 of us went to TD for food and drinks at 7pm.. We had a drink and 20mins later we asked about food but we were told to wait until 8pm as reservations were walking in and we had to wait till the orders were taken. We asked for food at 8pm as said and we were told that the lady thought we were going to eat earlier (we were going to but told to wait till 8pm, didn't make sense) and the kitchen is very busy (no food on any table and people still looking at menu's) so we left and went to Truro Tandoori and had fantastic service. 2nd time was tonight. We were told to wait a while to order food this was 7pm and at 7:30pm we went to sit and order food. We ordered but it had taken nearly an hour for the food to arrive. When it did, the portions were smaller than usual and my bread was burnt and plus my friend did not enjoy her burrata salad and was surprised it was £14. Plus the 2 tables around us were also waiting a long time for food. It's a shame I highly recommended this place to others back In the day. Now something has changed... There doesn't seem to be much care for the quality of food! I really hope it gets better!

Perhaps the trendiest place to eat in town - Patrons seem to dress up for this restaurant in Truro. The place goes full on weekends so booking ahead is advisable. Food is tasty and the menu is sophisticated. Good choices in drinks as well.

3 for food, 4 for service. Sweet potato soup: rich, moreish, with the right amount of chilli. However, it was very creamy. I guess most people would order this as a healthy-ish option, so it kind of defeats the purpose it being about a quarter cream. Chicken breast with wild mushroom risotto: chicken breast was well cooked, crispy and succulent. Risotto was however overcooked and a touch stodgy. Wild mushrooms were a mixture of supermarket standard "exotic mushroom" selection and button/chestnut mushrooms, with little taste. Had a special set menu for the residents of a nearby B&B and should have had a large glass of house wine with the meal, but was given a medium one. Wine selection is anyway quite nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
