Well deserving of 5 stars! From the moment we entered, we were met with cheerful well-mannered personnel. Paul - a real genuine guy - (who manages) came & introduced himself. The food was fresh, good quality & well presented. I would personally recommend the William 1V burger. We visit Cornwall every 2 years & will definitely be returning to this pub!

Visited the pub to have lunch, noting the seating area has been expertly refurbished into cosy booths. I had 2 pints of Tribute and orange juice for my wife; the pints slid down very well! Following my wife ordering the food, the food arrived quickly together with friendly service. Visit when in the area and you will not be disappointed.

Exquisite pub. Came across it after exploring Truro, recommended to my mum and dad and we went in, checked the menu and boy were we blown away when our food arrived! 12 inch pizza with bacon, roast chicken, pepperoni, red onions for £13.50! Absolute bargain if you ask me! 5oz steak that is served on a stone which you can cook to your pleasing! Amazing kind staff. 10/10 would eat here again! Even gave us a little take-away bix for the remaining slice of pizza I hadn't fonished! Very happy with the service!

Popped in for a bite to eat (and a rest from Christmas shopping) on a Sunday afternoon. Having visited here before, I was expecting great things ... especially as the place was packed, with the pleasant young lady who welcomed me at the door apologising that there was only 1 table left in the conservatory. Unfortunately I was disappointed, whereas the food quality was ok, their prices weren't :( A small bowl of Cheesy Chips, with no side salad or Garnish = £4.95 A very small bowl of Homemade Coleslaw = £3.95 Brie Wedges, with very small side salad/garnish = £6.50 Soft drinks weren't the cheapest either .. paying close to £4 for a pint of Coke. Service was excellent, and the expensive food arrived promptly, and was piping hot.

Amazing place for Food & Drinks, and by far the nicest pub in Truro! The Sunday Carvery is Beautiful!!! 👌🏼 Staff are very welcoming and friendly and always smiling, very well presented and clean with a lovely beer garden, (also, one of the only places in the city to provide this Along with being dog friendly 🐕) and toilets are kept to a very high standard too! I'd recommend to anyone wanting to have a relaxed Lunch/Dinner, or even a cheeky pint or G&T in the evening after work!!! 💗

Definitely by far one the best restaurant/pubs I have been to. The service was absolutely fantastic. The food was amazing. Delightful atmosphere. We ordered at the bar and Lauren took our order. Very cheerful and brilliant customer service. The waitresses (Rachael and Milly Maddie) kept checking on us to see if we were okay with the food and drinks. Definitely a 5 STAR rating.

Found myself in here as the pub I had been recommended was fully booked (and it was raining). It is a pretty typical pub (sport on, sauces in packets etc)... So to be honest I was expecting pretty typical/slightly disappointing food. I could not have been more wrong. While I couldn't get Sunday lunch I opted for the burger... and I can say for definite it was the absolute best burger I have ever had in a pub, lots of cheese, thick bacon, really juicy burger, pillow soft bun. The chips were fab as well. On top of all that food came out quick (despite it being really busy) and the servers were super friendly and helpful. A * from me.

Great pub in the center of Truro and have been here many times for food and drink. Good atmosphere and helpful staff. Would have been five stars if it wasn't for a drastically reduced menu on our last visit. Probably a covid thing so I get it.

Surprisingly wide and varied menu with a wide range of delicious sounding meals. This includes stand out hot stones to cook steak at the table. There is also a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available including cocktails which come in pitchers or glasses. There's a wide and spacious seating plan with many of the tables in view of a television screen. Great attitude from the waiting and service staff round off the pleasant atmosphere.

Whilst visiting on holiday came across this pub by chance. What an excellent find! The pub itself had a modern feel and was very clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, I had the hot rock steak and it was the best steak I’ve had in a long while. Some of the reviews I’ve read comment on the pub being expensive but in my opinion you get what you pay for and our meal was worth every penny. Would highly recommend.

This place was a last resort so I wasn't in the best of moods. Staff were extremely patient and accommodating though. This place should have been our first resort. A really delicious steak and ale pie with perfect chips. Worth every penny. Would definately return. Highly recommended.

Had a really good time, been out shopping in Truro. Went here for some lunch and a coupe beers. Food was great. Try the William burger if you are visiting. Staff were really friendly, service great and beer better.

Decent little place, the service was extremely fast. From ordering our food to it being brought to the table took only 10 minutes so again, very fast. As for the food, my partner said her ham, egg and chips was ok, the ham was out of a packet and a little watery, so for £11.50 I thought it could've been a little better quality. I had the scampi and chips with mushy peas. The chips were alright, crispy and fluffy inside, I mean they were frozen chips, not much else to say. The scampi was really nice I thought, I've eaten scampi in a lot of places as it's my favourite and this definitely isn't the worst place for that, as I said, it was quite nice scampi, it wasn't really cheap I don't think which was good. The only thing about that meal, the mushy peas literally didn't taste of anything, they were probably frozen mushy peas, that's my guess but for £12.50, I guess I was satisfied. The staff were really friendly and helpful which was great to see, slot of places of late have got staff that just can't be bothered and tutt and sigh when you ask for a simple little thing but glad to say, the staff here weren't like that. Overall, I'd come back here again if passing. RATING: 3 ½* out 5.

If you're looking for good pub grub then this place is worth while. We had the Bangkok and the William Special Burgers and they were good. They had a cool non-contactless pay system that was all done online so the only contact you had (sadly) was when they greeted you, and served the food. Keep up the good work folks!

Popped in to the beer garden to enjoy a pub classic (steak pie) complemented with a much needed Proper Job. Pub boasts freshly prepared delicious food from the abundance of local produce available. I was dismayed to find the fresh veg, described as carrots and green beans were infact either tinned or frozen. The Veg was inedible, tasteless and merely distinguished by shape and colour. I would encourage the Manager and Chef to sample the dishes prior to serving. The quality of food was a disappointing and offered poor value. That said the beer and beer garden were spot on.

They've had a slight refurbishment, although I've not been since lockdown. The food is always lovely. This is the only place we eat when we're in truro shopping. Facilities are always clean. Staff are always polite, friendly and helpful.

Went for a birthday meal. Four adults and a 4 year old. The place was quiet and clean. Service was excellent and the food was reasonably priced and made with huge portions. Food was excellent quality and clearly very freshly cooked as it was still boiling hot by the time we finished. The staff were great too. Only two weaknesses were the amount of TVs present, which were showing the news (but presumably they were waiting for the football game which started just before we left), and the quality of the men's toilets (I can't speak for the ladies), which were a bit confused, both posh in some ways and naff pub like in others.

We were on our way to the train station with some time to kill so bobbed in for a drink. Busy place, but no faffing about,got a seat and watched the comings and goings enjoying our drinks. Ummmm big sigh. Like most pubs restaurants now you've got to scan your phone on a qr code just to order a poxy drink. Even with full 5G the code wouldn't scan at the william but it's ok the waitress came and took the order, the food was pretty tasteless and lacked seasoning. Still a nice looking pub and the waitresses and bar staff were lovely. You can find the william iv pub down Kenwyn Street in the town just down from Victoria sq. You can't miss it on the left.

Dog friendly, conservatory, large patio garden and even a car park (about 8 spaces). Menu offers reasonable range of dishes although not extensive and is served quickly - depending on demand.
