Brilliant place this. Great service and plenty of space. We went on a Sunday night and Monday night, both were quite busy with a great atmosphere. Sunday had the Cajun chicken and and the Ruddles steak and ale pie. Both meals were excellent, couldn't fault them. Monday night had the Tomahawk steak, Wow. 32oz steak French dressed bone in, to share. Mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, seasoned fries, salad, beef dripping and red wine sauce and creamy peppercorn and brandy sauce. All for £39.99. What can I say, the best steak we've ever had. Highly recommended

I was up here on a training course and had 3 meals at this restaurant. Put simple this was some of the best food I have ever eaten (Stakes cooked to perfection) Service was also great. Ii do not often leave reveiws but this place is worth everyone and more.

Loved it here! The Halloumi fries are amazing! The burgers are fantastic aswell. In my own opinion it would be great if the drinks menu could be expanded a bit more. Additionally we ordered a pitcher of Pimms, not sure if the staff member was new but she didn't know what a pitcher was and proceeded to tell me "it's a jug not a pitcher".

The decor and layout is very modern but keeping with the buildings wooden exterior. Its very spacious with great seating areas. I have been here before for a 50th birthday party and we were given a private room with long tables. Last night we were given a huge round table for 7 of us located in a corner of the room under some stairs and near the bar. The night of the 50th the food and service was excellent however last night the food was excellent but the speed it was served at was poor in my opinion. It was later explained that there had been trouble at the bar with some locals and because waiting staff had to deal with this it caused a back log on orders, our server George was professional, humorous and kind when dealing with our orders, explaining about problems and I would highly recommend anyone going to the waterside aak for George as their waiter. My starters and mains were superb very tasty and the quantity was just right. I will be going to the waterside again in the near future for another family meal or for a 1 on 1 or double date, I would class this establishment as a perfect place for that.

Staying nearby and me and my partner came here and had a wonderful time. Promptly seated and told who our waitress was for the evening. Pondered the menu and was such a hard choice as everything sounded amazing. Drinks were great, food was incredible we both had steaks and they were cooked to perfection, one medium and one rare. Definitely reccomend the camembert starter. Also thank you to Laura our waitress who was super friendly and helped make our evening even better by providing great friendly service

Had dinner here mid week on a work trip. Had a look around town but didn't fancy anything so ended up here... wasn't expecting much food wise but it was actually really good. First family meeting since March 2020 and it did not disappoint. Service was good. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was excellent and served quickly. Nothing to worry about where social distancing and cleanliness were concerned. All in all a lovely experience. The Waterside has got to be one of my favourite places to eat in Warrington.

First time eating here, staying on the namesake hotel next door. The establishment was clean and seemed to have a nice buzz about it. Me and my colleague had mixed grill and chicken skewers. The meats were cooked great to how I asked, but what made the evening a 10/10 was our server called caitlyn h. Her attitude was amazing and wanted to help with everything without being at the table every few minutes.

Waterside was very good - it did have it's problems that day such as faulty freezers and a longer than usual wait for the food. However, Matthew, who took care of us was very good, looked after us very well and ensured we had a pleasant evening. Came to the pub Monday morning for a works meeting, the room was set out just as we had asked and with tea and coffee. We decided to have lunch in the restaurant so we pre ordered as we was on a time limit the food came out fast and hot and was very tasty! We would definitely recommend for meetings or even just to dine out. We really enjoyed it!

This is a good real pub. No huge great TVs covering the walls. Good selection of beers. Friendly staff, and tables outside. Also it is dog friendly. 🐶🐶🐶 They also have rooms, but unfortunately I wasn't aware of that or I would have tried to get in here instead of another hotel close by. 🙁

We didn't book and it was busy but arrived to be greeted by Jack who was lovely and polite even when he was busy. After a few moments we were shown to our table,our drinks order was taken and sorted whist we were looking at the menu. We had some extra requests and our waiter matt was brilliant he was really friendly and answered our questions and was very helpful. The food was amazing we ordered lots or little side orders and everything was well presented and cooked beautiful. We've worked in many pubs and the staff that served us were lovely friendly and smiley even when it was really busy. So thankyou team waterside for a great birthday treat.

Stunning pub and restaurant. Great menu and if you are a steak lover then I would recommend the tomahawk steak 🥩. A brand new function room has been built and is tailor made for weddings and special occasions and is worth checking out. Did I mention that the pub has its own hotel so why not make a weekend of it.

Decided to try the Waterside as we'd heard it was a nice place to eat, we didn't book, just turned up, wasn't a problem, we were seated immediately and ordered drinks while we looked at the menu and specials, inside is really nicely decorated, nice chilled atmosphere, food arrived and was really tasty, husband had one of the specials, which was slices of steak on a burger, which included cheese and bacon fries, a pot of very tasty gravy, a pot of very tasty sauce (husbands words) and onions rings. I had hunters chicken, which was so tasty, char grilled chicken with lots of cheese, bacon and bbq sauce, comes with fries, coleslaw, salad and onion rings, plenty of food on the plates, possibly one of the best pub meals we've had, would highly recommend and the staff were lovely and friendly.

The place looks lovely and the food was really tasty; good value for the price, service was not the best... nice but very slow and a bit haphazard. For some reason there is dried fruit slices like you get in pot pourri in every drink, what's wrong with a slice of fresh lemon?

Food is gorgeous!! I had a burger and my sister had the chicken char grill and both dishes were presented excellently and the dishes were cooked to perfection. The homemade lemonade with strawberry is amazing. I would highly recommend.

Food was alright, service was okay we went on a Friday night and got put in a corridor with a big orange construction fence. The place was empty so we don't know why we were sat there.

The food was nice. The service was hit and miss. The bartender who took our drinks order when we first arrived was dreadful. I have rarely encountered such dreadful customer service skills. With lines like "do you want anything else?" And "You'll have to come to the till while I ring it all through", the tone of voice and body language expressed told us she hated her job. One of the waitresses was visibly chewing gum when she took our order. The wine was warm and we were met with a frosty reception when we asked for a cold bottle. When the waitress took our money she asked if we would require any change! We had every intention of tipping and did so, but the question came across as rude and obnoxious.

Not a bad place to go at short notice. However it was busy and there was a bit of waiting. Food was OK and freshly prepared. The dining seating wasn't great. My friend and I were sat in an area where three couples were sat with less than 2 feet apart making private conversation impossible. All in all, not the best place that I have eaten in but quite acceptable.

Never visited here before despite living so close. We Visited 1/5/22 at 1200. Despite being busy they managed to squeeze 2 of us in. Every member of staff was helpful (5 in all 2 managers and 3 waiting staff) big should out to the guy who originally took our order (young guy glasses) wish all staff had the same nothing is too much trouble attitute as he had in other places we have visited.. Will definatly go again.

Really enjoyable lunch. Picked from special menu I picked chicken and peppers with a wonderful dipping sauce Followed by 8oz gammon egg jacket and peas. The gammon was cooked with no fat on it what soever as a rule I use a napkin to soak up fat before I can eat it. Customer care was wonderful and selling skills were good as well. Happy staff working like a team and nothing was to much trouble. Would certainly eat there again can highly recommend a visit.

Even though we had a table booked, we were told full table service, we waited and waited and no one came, so we had to literally shout someone over, the staff were marvelous though and this is no way a rating, reflecting the service we received from most of the team, they were rushed off there feet bless them and looked stresses out. The food was nice to be honest. The only other negative thing was when we went to pay our bill the guy was very unhappy/miserable, with no customer interaction whatsoever, a terrible let down. So on reflection of the overall experience, I can say that I wouldn't return to this VENUE. We are staying in the hotel next door and they are amazing at customer service overall, couldn't do enough for us, I'm pleased to say. "don't like giving negative reviews", but it's a honest review.

Hidden Gem! Me and my partner decided to try this restaurant & bar after spotting it travelling to our nearby hotel. Upon entering you are given the option of sitting at the bar or in the restaurant, we opted for the bar. The restaurant is spacious, modern contemporary & very clean. We were served by Niamh, I can honestly say Niamh made our dining experience perfect. She had an infectious smile and was taking orders, serving at the bar, delivering food to tables and clearing tables also (all at the same time). Nothing was too much trouble for her, I know it sounds cheesy - but it uplifted both our spirits. The food was delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection, our order was slightly wrong when delivered, but Niamh rectified the error efficiently and with a smile (this did not affect our experience). Both me and my partner left the pub happy and full. As customers/diners, we are all often quick to complain, but never quick to say well done or thank you when things go well. So thank you to Goodwin’s and a special thank you to Niamh. Would definitely recommend this place!! See you again soon!!

We ate here twice in one day while staying at the hotel next door and we were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the pub. We were seated on the veranda for drinks at lunch, ordered everything on the app which was so easy. Service was extremely efficient- a little slower in the evening. We had a table booked in the restaurant for a meal in the evening, the bar staff were extremely efficient in pouring the drinks however, sometimes the waiting staff were a little slow to deliver and we were sat looking longingly at our drinks sat on the bar! However, this didn’t spoil Our evening. Food was amazing- especially the rump steak!! We will definitely be back if we are ever up that way again.

Very modern, clean and tidy pub with an extensive pub food menu and selection of drinks. Staff are extremely pleasant and friendly. The pub gives an upmarket feel to it with the decor and it's large size. There is also a hotel next door that is part of the property. I'd definitely recommend this place for food and/or drink.

What a diamond this place is, had a three course meal. The Rump steak I had medium was done to perfection and just melted in your mouth. I have been to Miller and Carter twice and been disappointed with the steaks i have had there. This is the new kid on the block and will be back. The staff are polite and made you feel welcome. A lot of families with small children, this however is no bother, but it seemed the music volume was increased in an effort to cover the noise. We stayed for a night and although the hotel is basic and cheap, you pay for what you get. The food in the pub however is much better, very tasty and the steak was cooked to perfection. Staff in the pub aren’t the most helpful but they are working in a new environment so you have to give them a break. Would we stay there again? Possibly for a cheap night away, would we eat in the pub again, definitely.

For the evening meal, my wife had the '3 course xmas menu' for 19 quid. No mash and veg was over boiled, she wasn't too overly excited with the turkey or the pig in blanket. Overall, slow service, but not the servers fault. Wouldnt go back.

I was eating keto at the time and my main came with chips but I couldn't eat them so I decided to get a side instead. Our server gladly just changed the chips for the side, which I didn't think was an option and charged me nothing extra. My steak was cooked to my liking and everything was better than I expected. About £30 for the two of us and no rush for the bill. Overheard one bartender call a customer by name as well, proving we weren't the only ones who enjoy this place. Would go again, definitely.

Went there for a baptism party. We were in the marquee attached to the main building and, despite the near freezing outside temperature, it was lovely and warm inside. The staff were great. I went to the main bar and the barman gave me a sample taste of their real ale to try which was very helpful. Good access to car park but, nowadays, they need to have a few destination charge points installed for electric vehicles.

Waterside had been recommended to us. I went on there website after i kept getting no answer on the phone to book the day before when placing the booking in the requests section i asked if we could be seated on a table with comfortable built in booth seating so i did not have to sit in my wheelchair or if not on a table with plenty of space that was easy for electric wheelchair to fit under but still leaving plenty of room for others it is obvious that this was never looked at because we were seated on a table for 6 that curved at the edged with table legs at both sides & an adjoining bar can you guess how many chairs were at this table 6. We had to move 1 & spend the 5 minutes rearranging everyone so i could fit under. All the while looking at the fact they had fixed booth seating they just had not been bothered to allocate one to us meaning i was going to the entire meal uncomfortable. It took at least 10 minutes for us to be asked if a drinks order had been taken it had not(The pub was only half full) we ordered drinks when they came an order was taken it took quite a while for food to arrive however this is because everything is made fresh with care so you don't mind waiting a while if the is hot fresh good quality & tasty which it was we had small issues there was too much fat/gristle on the sirloin stake the same with the gammon which comes with a wedge of real pineapple with skin on inc leaves this looks lovely but is very difficult to actually get the pineapple out of because of its shape & size on an already full plate this is something that others have said too. The choice of vegetable is not great & nowhere does it state what is available so you have to ask & you get a new waitress meaning repeated trips to the kitchen to end up with garden peas. We placed a second drinks order when the food arrived i ordered blueberry & blackberry mixed juice because it has no added sugar & because I'm diabetic was the best choice for me as i dont drink water only to be told 5 minutes later that they didnt have any so no more drink for me. Our plates got cleared & after 10 minutes we had to ask to see a desert menu another 10 minutes before our order was taken then 35minutes until we recieved the 4 deserts which is way too long for anyone but when you are sat in agony 35minutes feels like hours our plates got cleared after 5 minutes we had to ask for the bill then anithe 5 for the card machine i could understand if they were full but were only half at the most. The food is really top quality fresh & tasty however the customer service needs work across the board dont get ne wrong the staff are polite friendly & nice but there certainly is no urgency in anything they do when you are waiting 35 mins for dessert & you see multiple staff stood around just talking to each other for 5 minutes. We wouldn't rule out dinning here again but would definitely not do it when you were in a rush allocate a lot more time than you think you will need.

I held my Nans wake here on monday 26th march, the staff were sparse as we arrived & alot of the drinks we requested were either out of stock or we were kept waiting as they got organised. buffet was adequate as we had the £6.99 option for 30 people so not a large selection but it was very nice.On putting some family members into a taxi I was stood in greet area of the restaurant i was made a passing comment of “theres still an outstanding balance on the wake” from a large blonde long haired member of staff. I replied we are not leaving, she had already walked back behind the bar. A little decorum or tact wouldn’t have gone amiss & she obviously hadn’t checked who was left first as all the flowers & photographs etc were still where we were sat. I was pretty much offended by the flippant accusing comment seeing as we would have easily spent over £500 so paid the out-standing amount, complained to the staff member & left. we will not be returning.

The pub itself is very nice and the staff are very friendly but the prices for drinks are very expensive £4-35 a pint and £2-25 for a glass of lemonade, the food was ok but they use frozen veg which were still hard because they needed cooking for a bit longer

Went to waterside tonight considering its a bank holiday it was rather quiet in there and there was plenty of staff in. However the service in there was verry dissapointing we had to wait almost 15 minutes just for the drinks our food did not come out at the same time which is rather dissapointing considering we were only a group of 7... I really think the company should look at the service that is being provided as this has put us off wanting to visit again and we paid over £100 however the food was okay just would have been better if we had better customer service and didnt have to try and get the attention of the staff
